Namibia and Botswana differ from other sub-Saharan nations in their record of stable political performance. However, both
countries have to face increasing social problems. In the case of Namibia these are still mainly related to the process of
post-apartheid national reconciliation and identity building, in the case of Botswana they refer to issues of growing tribal
tensions and of a gradual interior restructuring of society. This paper analyzes the various patterns of social transformation
in the two countries and examines in what ways state-society relations are different from other African nations.

Zusammenfassung Nach der Profilaufnahme sind die Sedimente der Tongrube der Ziegelei von Willershausen in zwei Gruppen einzuteilen : A. Die unteren hellen Schichten, B. die oberen dunklen Schichten.Die unteren hellen Schichten bestehen aus Sandsteinen, Sanden, tonigen Sanden und Grobtonen, welche Quarz, Feldspäte und Glimmer als Hauptminerale und in geringeren Mengen Illit, Chlorit und manchmal Montmorillonit füren. Als Schwerminerale dieser Sande und Sandsteine treten der Häufigkeit nach Apatit, Zirkon, Granat, Anatas, Rutil, Turmalin und Opakminerale auf.Die oberen dunklen Schichten bestehen hauptsächlich aus mm-rhythmisch geschichteten Tonen mit Einschaltung einzelner Mergelbänke und toniger Sandschichten. Dioktaedrischer Illit ist das häufigste Tonmineral, dann folgen Chlorit und in geringeren Mengen in feinen Fraktionen Montmorillonit. Die Chlorit-Reflexe verschwinden bereits bei Erhitzung auf 450° C. Chemisch handelt es sich um die dem Pennin naheliegenden Diabantite.Die Unterschiede in Beschaffenheit und Menge der Quarze, Feldspäte und Glimmer, die unterschiedliche Verteilung der Schwerminerale sprechen dafür, daß die hellen Schichten wahrscheinlich zum Mesozoikum, vielleicht zum Buntsandstein gehören.Von der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Georg-August-Universität zu Göttingen genehmigte Dissertation. 相似文献

From measurements during the Atlantic Trade Wind Experiment (ATEX) 1969, amplitudes and phases of the diurnal harmonic water-temperature variation between the sea surface and 50-m depth and of the semi-diurnal wind variation between 1 and 8 m were obtained. If the vertical diffusion of heat in the ocean is thought to be constant, a coefficient of K= 320 cm2 s–1 in the equation of diffusion fits best the observed data in the mixed layer. However, the measurements point to a decrease of K with depth.The height variation of the semi-diurnal zonal wind wave is caused by the influence of eddy viscosity. Our data are well fitted by results of the equation of diffusion, using the assumption of Lettau (1974) that the transfer coefficient of vertical transport of momentum is not only a function of height but also depends on time because of the semi-diurnal variation of surface stress. 相似文献

The morphology of the Alpine and adjacent landscapes is directly related to glacial erosion and associated sediment transport.
Here we report the effects of glacio-hydrologic erosion on bedrock topography in the Swiss Plateau. Specifically, we identify
the presence of subsurface valleys beneath the city of Bern and discuss their genesis. Stratigraphic investigations of more
than 4,000 borehole data within a 430 km2-large area reveal the presence of a network of >200 m-deep and 1,000 m-wide valleys. They are flat floored with steep sided
walls and are filled by Quaternary glacial deposits. The central valley beneath Bern is straight and oriented towards the
NNW, with valley flanks more than 20° steep. The valley bottom has an irregular undulating profile along the thalweg, with
differences between sills and hollows higher than 50–100 m over a reach of 4 km length. Approximately 500 m high bedrock highlands
flank the valley network. The highlands are dissected by up to 80 m-deep and 500 m-broad hanging valleys that currently drain
away from the axis of the main valley. We interpret the valleys beneath the city of Bern to be a tunnel valley network which
originated from subglacial erosion by melt water. The highland valleys served as proglacial meltwater paths and are hanging
with respect to the trunk system, indicating that these incipient highland systems as well as the main gorge beneath Bern

By incorporating the fabric effect and Lode’s angle dependence into the Mohr–Coulomb failure criterion, a strength criterion for cross-anisotropic sand under general stress conditions was proposed. The obtained criterion has only three material parameters which can be specified by conventional triaxial tests. The formula to calculate the friction angle under any loading direction and intermediate principal stress ratio condition was deduced, and the influence of the degree of the cross-anisotropy was quantified. The friction angles of sand in triaxial, true triaxial, and hollow cylinder torsional shear tests were obtained, and a parametric analysis was used to detect the varying characteristics. The friction angle becomes smaller when the major principal stress changes from perpendicular to parallel to the bedding plane. The loading direction and intermediate principal stress ratio are unrelated in true triaxial tests, and their influences on the friction angle can be well captured by the proposed criterion. In hollow cylinder torsional shear tests with the same internal and external pressures, the loading direction and intermediate principal stress ratio are related. This property results in a lower friction angle in the hollow cylinder torsional shear test than that in the true triaxial test under the same intermediate principal stress ratio condition. By comparing the calculated friction angle with the experimental results under various loading conditions (e.g., triaxial, true triaxial, and hollow cylinder torsional shear test), the proposed criterion was verified to be able to characterize the shear strength of cross-anisotropic sand under general stress conditions. 相似文献

吐哈盆地侏罗系是一个盆地充填层序 (一级层序 ),包括 4个构造层序 (二级层序 ),分别与侏罗纪湖盆的 4个演化阶段 (稳定沉降阶段、短期收缩阶段、扩张阶段和萎缩阶段 )相对应,其中又分为 13个 (三级 )层序。与海相地层不同的是,本区识别出了 4种层序边界类型 (A型、B型、C型和D型 ),其对应的层序本文分别称之为冲积层序、淹没层序、类Ⅰ型层序和类Ⅱ型层序。冲积层序形成于构造剧烈抬升时的盆地萎缩阶段,淹没层序形成于构造沉降迅速时的盆地扩张阶段. 相似文献

Polarized infrared absorption spectra of thin single-crystal slabs parallel to (010) and (001) of a staurolite from Pizzo Forno, Ticino, with analyzed composition (Fe2.9Mg0.9Zn0.1Mn0.1)Al17.5Ti0.1(Si7.7Al0.3)O48H3 have been measured in the range of 3000–4000 cm?1. From the pleochroitic behaviour of the OH-vibrations three groups of bands can be distinguished: the bands of group I, a strong band at 3445 cm?1 plus a weak shoulder at 3358 cm?1, and the bands of group II, a weak band centered at 3677 cm?1 plus a shoulder at 3635 cm?1, are assigned to the H1 and H2 protons, respectively. The bands of group III, a weak band at 3577 cm?1 plus a shoulder, cannot be interpreted on the basis of the proton positions known so far. We assign them to an additional proton H3, which is bonded to O1 and shows a bifurcated hydrogen bridge to two O5 in a vacant T2 site. 相似文献
