The Bundelkhand massif of Archean-Palaeoproterozoic age is primarily a granite-gneiss complex. Three distinct granitoid suites have been identified within the massif hornblende granitoids, biotite granitoids and leucogranitoids, in order of decreasing age. These granitoids were emplaced in previously deformed basement consisting of gneisses, banded iron formations and other metasediments, mafic to felsic volcanics.
The granitoids exhibit a large compositional range from quartz diorite to syenogranite and show a calc-alkaline trend. They are metaluminous to peraluminous and have I-type characteristics. The SiO2 content ranges from 49 to 77 wt%. Low K2 O/Na2 O characterizes the granitoids. The oldest hornblende granitoids have low Rb and Yb contents compared to the younger biotite granitoids and leucogranitoids. Rb/Sr values for most of the granitoids are low (< 1). K/Rb ratios range from 95 to 373 which is, in general, comparable with other calc-alkaline suites. Y/Nb ratios of the granitoids are > 1.2 which is a characteristic feature of magmas derived from sources chemically similar to island arc or continental margin basalts.
The features mentioned above coupled with concentrations of Rb, Y, Nb, Yb, Ta and Th indicate a volcanic-arc tectonic setting for the granitoids. It is proposed that the massif represents subduction-related magmatism of an ocean in the southern part of the massif (an Andean plate margin). 相似文献

Studies of clump structure of photodissociation regions at millimeter and sub-millimeter wavelengths
To interpret the millimeter and sub-millimeter line emissions of atomic and molecular species from galactic and extragalactic
photodissociation regions, warm gas components and molecular clouds, generally, escape probability formalism of Tielens &
Hollenbach (herein referred as TH) are employed which is based on the assumption of plane parallel geometry of infinite slab
allowing photons to escape only from the front. Contrary to the assumption observationally it is found that these lines are
optically thin except OI(63μ m) and low rotational transitions of CO and some other molecules. This observational evidence
led us to assume that emitting regions are finite parallel plane slab in which photons are allowed to escape from both the
surfaces (back and front). Therefore, in the present study escape of radiations from both sides of the homogeneous and also
clumpy PDR/molecular clouds are taken into consideration for calculating the line intensities at millimeter and sub-millimeter
wavelengths (hereinafter referred as QA). Results are compared with that of the TH model. It is found that thermal and chemical
structures of the regions are almost similar in both the formalisms. But line intensities are modified by differing factors.
Particularly at low density and low kinetic temperature and also for optically thin lines line intensities calculated from
TH and QA model differ substantially. But at density higher than the critical density and also for optically thick lines TH
and QA models converge to almost same values. An attempt has been made to study the physical conditions of the M17 region

A total of 97 surface sediment samples were collected from the continental shelf and slope of the western Bay of Bengal to assess the potential application of Asterorotalia trispinosa as a paleomonsoon proxy. The relative abundance of living as well as total (living and dead) A. trispinosa ranges from being absent to a maximum of ~31%. The highest abundance of A. trispinosa is close to the outfall region of the Ganga-Brahmaputra Rivers and decreases away from the river mouths. Contrary to that, A. trispinosa is rare in front of both the Cauvery and Pennar river outfall regions, in the central part of the western Bay of Bengal. The living A. trispinosa abundance is the lowest in between two major river systems, viz. Ganga-Brahmaputra-Mahanadi and Krishna-Godavari. The relative abundance of both the total and living A. trispinosa is strongly positively correlated with ambient seawater temperature, and negatively correlated with %Corg and salinity. Based on the spatial distribution, we conclude that A. trispinosa is stenohaline in nature, rather than euryhaline, and further that the increased relative abundance of A. trispinosa indicates warmer and only marginally hyposaline environment. Even though the ecological preference of A. trispinosa suggests it as a potential paleomonsoon proxy, the restricted distribution implies limited application. 相似文献

AST3-2 (Antarctic Survey Telescopes)光学巡天望远镜位于南极大陆最高点冰穹A,其产生的大量观测数据对数据处理的效率提出了较高要求.同时南极通信不便,数据回传有诸多困难,有必要在南极本地实现自动处理AST3-2观测数据,进行变源和暂现源观测的数据处理,但是受到低功耗计算机的限制,数据的快速自动处理的实现存在诸多困难.将已有的图像相减方案同机器学习算法相结合,并利用AST3-2 2016年观测数据作为测试样本,发展一套的暂现源及变源的筛选方法成为可行的选择.该筛选方法使用图像相减法初步筛选出可能的变源,再用主成分分析法抽取候选源的特征,并选择随机森林作为机器学习分类器,在测试中对正样本的召回率达到了97%,验证了这种方法的可行性,并最终在2016年观测数据中探测出一批变星候选体. 相似文献

One of the major rehabilitation projects in Kuwait during the 1990s was improvement of the wastewater treatment plant at Jahra,
a town 30 km north of Kuwait City. The project incorporates construction of a pumping station to collect the sewage via a
network of sewer lines throughout the city. Groundwater occurs 4 m below the ground surface and construction specifications
required lowering the groundwater table by 16 m to the foundation grade, 20 m below the ground surface. Open excavation with
four stage well point system of dewatering was selected to ensure dry foundation conditions; but the system failed to lower
the groundwater table down to the desired depth. Review of site investigation records and recalculation of field hydraulic
conductivity resulted in design changes, augmenting the well point system with a number of deep wells and sumps to lower the
water table down to the foundation grade. The paper discusses subsurface conditions and presents an analysis of the cause
of failure of the well point system. The actual hydraulic conductivity proved to be several folds higher than the calculated
one that was determined using Hazen’s formula. It was found that use of Hazen’s formula led to serious underestimation of
field hydraulic conductivity. It is advised not to use such formulas without thorough investigation and proper interpretation

Sedimentary structures are very useful in paleocurrent analysis and interpretation of siliciclastic shallow marine environment. These interesting sedimentary structures such as parallel bedding, cross bedding, ripples, and mud cracks as well as synaeresis cracks, are best studied in the field. They are formed by a variety of sedimentary processes, including fluid flow, sediment-gravity flow, soft-sediment deformation and biogenic activity. Gulcheru Formation has evidence of interaction of microbial communities with clastic sedimentation during Palaeoproterozoic time. Because of high porosity-permeability of siliciclastics of Gulcheru Formation, palaeontologists do not expect many fossils preserved in such rocks and thus they have been overlooked. Microbially induced sedimentary structures (MISS) are highlighted in the Gulcheru Formation. They are indicative of shallow marine environment. Gulcheru Formation shows alluvial fan to shallow marine shelf environments within a limited thickness of about ~ 110m, which indicates an alluvial plain coast where alluvial deposits are modified by wave forces. 相似文献

A new approach to improve the representation of surface processes in the Global Environmental Multiscale (GEM) atmospheric model associated with the exchanges between the urban canopy and the atmosphere is presented. Effects of the urban canopy on the evolution of surface-layer wind, temperature, moisture, and turbulence are directly parametrized in order to allow realistic interactions between the canopy elements (i.e., roofs, roads, and walls) and the atmosphere at GEM’s multiple vertical levels that are positioned inside the canopy. Surface energy budgets as implemented in the Town Energy Balance (TEB) scheme have been used to determine temperatures of the urban canopy elements for the proposed multilayer scheme. Performance of the multilayer scheme is compared against standard implementations of the TEB scheme for one nighttime intensive observation period of the Joint Urban 2003 experiment held in Oklahoma City, USA. Although the new approach is found to have a negligible impact on urban surface-layer wind profiles, it improves the prediction of near-neutral nocturnal profiles of potential temperature close to the surface. The urban heat island effect is simulated with a better accuracy by the multilayer approach. The horizontal temperature gradient across the central business district of the city along the direction of flow is also reasonably well captured by the proposed scheme. 相似文献
