减灾与广东的经济发展

随着国家经济建设的发展，各种自然灾害所造成的经济损失将越来越大，资料显示，广东省在1993－1997年间因各种自然灾害所造成的直接损失平均每年约达180亿元，约占我省国民生产总值年增长的20％，本文提出了建立和健全具有政府职能的减灾组织机构，通过立法保证减灾制度的落实，提高城市规划及各种基础设施建设的减灾预防标准，充分发挥高新技术在减灾中的作用，从教育入手提高全民的防灾意识等几条减灾措施。     

广东数字遥测地震台网的建设

广东数字遥测地震台网由广东省人民政府和中国地震局共同投资建设,是我国第一个采用国产数字地震观测专用设备建成的２４位数字遥测地震台网,达到了国际同类地震台网的先进水平。介绍了该台网的建设过程、台网性能、布局、技术系统及其特点。     

Metal distribution in sediment cores from São Paulo State Coast, Brazil

Ten sediment core samples with lengths ranging from 35 to 100 cm were collected in the Baixada Santista region and analyzed to determine As, Br, Co, Cr, Cs, Fe, Rb, Sb, Ta, Th, U, Zn and rare earths (Sc, Ce, Eu, La, Lu, Nd, Sm, Tb and Yb) level concentrations using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). The studied region is located in the southeastern coast of São Paulo State and is comprised of a densely urbanized area, the largest industrial complex of the country, with a predominance of petrochemical and fertilizer plants. It is also home to Brazil’s most important and busiest port. The conclusions found that the As, La, Sm, Ne, Ce, Eu, Hf, Ta, Th, and U elements have a high background level in the region and that Fe and Zn were the main indicators of anthropogenic contribution in the sediments.     

Geographic influences on sexual and reproductive health service utilization in rural Mozambique

The HIV/AIDS epidemic remains a major public health issue across the globe, and it is of particular concern in sub-Saharan Africa. Utilization of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services can significantly impact HIV prevention, transmission, and treatment. SRH service utilization may be determined by individual characteristics, such as education and economic status, but also by the location and accessibility of health care facilities. Using population-based survey data, this study applies exploratory spatial analysis techniques to examine spatial patterns of SRH service utilization among rural married women in southern Mozambique. Clustering among those using services is found as are spatial associations, indicating significant spatial variability in the utilization of health services. The findings provide valuable insights for current and future health care program planning and configuration.

自由振荡能够触发余震解决地震预报吗？

检验了Ｗｈｉｔｅｓｉｄｅ和Ｂｅｎ－Ｚｉｏｎ的地震预测模型以确认他们提出的方法从统计上是否产生有意义的结果。他们的模型推型。大地震数月在主震邻近地区地球自由振荡触发的小震有明显增加。我们独立设计一个程序去重视他们的方法,发现结果是取决于产生触发百分比所用的事件总数。
