A sequential extraction procedure applied to surface sediments from El Kelbia Lagoon determined the partitioning of Ba, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Sr, V and Zn among evaporites, carbonates, Fe–Mn oxides, organic matter and silicates. To validate the procedure, the sequential extraction results (SER) were compared to principal components analysis (PCA) using major and trace element concentrations and mineralogical quantitative data of surface sediments. SER showed that a part of Sr was highly mobile; Cu, Sr, and Zn and a part of Co and Ni were mobile depending on pH conditions; Cr and V were strongly bound to silicate phases; Co and Ni were partitioned between carbonates, oxides and silicates, and a great part of Ba and Sr were bound to organic matter or sulfides. An agreement was found with PCA in terms of partitioning among minerals for most trace elements. Moreover, the absence of correlation between Ca concentrations and the abundances of calcite, gypsum or dolomite could be explained by an important fraction of Ca bound to organic matter. Also, unexpected negative correlations between abundances of smectite and illite could be explained by a transformation of illite into smectite. Thus, SER and PCA were mostly convergent, which enabled: (1) validation of the extraction procedure used, and (2) refinement of interpretations of the origin and relations between minerals.  相似文献

A better understanding of the impact of changing temperatures on snow amounts is very important for the ski industry, but it is difficult to measure, particularly at different times of the snow season and not only on an annual or seasonal basis. Here, we analyze the snow day vs precipitation day ratios on a monthly basis from November to April in Switzerland and at 52 meteorological stations located between 200 and 2,700 m above sea level over a 48-year time span. Our results show that the conditions measured in the 1960s in November and March correspond to the present ones in December, January, and February.  相似文献

CK chondrites are the only group of carbonaceous chondrites with petrologic types ranging from 3 to 6. Although CKs are described as calcium‐aluminum‐rich inclusion (CAI)‐poor objects, the abundance of CAIs in the 18 CK3–6 we analyzed ranges from zero to approximately 16.4%. During thermal metamorphism, some of the fine‐grained CAIs recrystallized as irregular assemblages of plagioclase + Ca‐rich pyroxene ± olivine ± Ca‐poor pyroxene ± magnetite. Coarse‐grained CAIs display zoned spinel, fassaite destabilization, and secondary grossular and spinel. Secondary anorthite, grossular, Ca‐rich pyroxene, and spinel derive from the destabilization of melilite, which is lacking in all CAIs investigated. The Al‐Mg isotopic systematics measured in fine‐ and coarse‐grained CAIs from Tanezrouft (Tnz) 057 was affected by Mg redistribution. The partial equilibration of Al‐Mg isotopic signatures obtained in the core of a coarse‐grained CAI (CG1‐CAI) in Tnz 057 may indicate a lower peak temperature for Mg diffusion of approximately 540–580 °C, while grossular present in the core of this CAI indicates a higher temperature of around 800 °C for the metamorphic event on the parent body of Tnz 057. Excluding metamorphic features, the similarity in nature and abundance of CAIs in CK and CV chondrites confirms that CVs and CKs form a continuous metamorphic series from type 3 to 6.  相似文献

Numerical data processing is applied to the high-resolution images-of the solar corona obtained with the 20 cm coronagraph of the Pic du Midi observatory. Two complementary methods are proposed to solve some classical difficulties usually met in the morphological analysis of the solar corona, namely the brightness gradient in the inner and medium corona, the low contrast of numerous emissive regions and the superimposition along the line of sight of different structures. The methods which are described in this paper may help to resolve the complex coronal active regions into fine structures which is now necessary to interpret all observed corona data.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a formalism designed to model tidal interaction with a viscoelastic body made of Maxwell material. Our approach remains regular for any spin rate and orientation, and for any orbital configuration including high eccentricities and close encounters. The method is to integrate simultaneously the rotation and the position of the planet as well as its deformation. We provide the equations of motion both in the body frame and in the inertial frame. With this study, we generalize preexisting models to the spatial case and to arbitrary multipole orders using a formalism taken from quantum theory. We also provide the vectorial expression of the secular tidal torque expanded in Fourier series. Applying this model to close-in exoplanets, we observe that if the relaxation time is longer than the revolution period, the phase space of the system is characterized by the presence of several spin-orbit resonances, even in the circular case. As the system evolves, the planet spin can visit different spin-orbit configurations. The obliquity is decreasing along most of these resonances, but we observe a case where the planet tilt is instead growing. These conclusions derived from the secular torque are successfully tested with numerical integrations of the instantaneous equations of motion on HD 80606 b. Our formalism is also well adapted to close-in super-Earths in multiplanet systems which are known to have non-zero mutual inclinations.  相似文献

The chemical composition of fluid inclusions in quartz crystals from Alpine fissure veins was determined by combination of microthermometry, Raman spectroscopy, and LA-ICPMS analysis. The veins are hosted in carbonate-bearing, organic-rich, low-grade metamorphic metapelites of the Bündnerschiefer of the eastern Central Alps (Switzerland). This strongly deformed tectonic unit is interpreted as a partly subducted accretionary wedge, on the basis of widespread carpholite assemblages that were later overprinted by lower greenschist facies metamorphism. Veins and their host rocks from two locations were studied to compare several indicators for the conditions during metamorphism, including illite crystallinity, graphite thermometry, stability of mineral assemblages, chlorite thermometry, fluid inclusion solute thermometry, and fluid inclusion isochores. Fluid inclusions are aqueous two-phase with 3.7–4.0 wt% equivalent NaCl at Thusis and 1.6–1.7 wt% at Schiers. Reproducible concentrations of Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, B, Al, Mn, Cu, Zn, Pb, As, Sb, Cl, Br, and S could be determined for 97 fluid inclusion assemblages. Fluid and mineral geothermometry consistently indicate temperatures of 320 ± 20 °C for the host rocks at Thusis and of 250 ± 30 °C at Schiers. Combining fluid inclusion isochores with independent geothermometers results in pressure estimates of 2.8–3.8 kbar for Thusis, and of 3.3–3.4 kbar for Schiers. Pressure–temperature estimates are confirmed by pseudosection modeling. Fluid compositions and petrological modeling consistently demonstrate that chemical fluid-rock equilibrium was attained during vein formation, indicating that the fluids originated locally by metamorphic dehydration during near-isothermal decompression in a rock-buffered system.  相似文献

Most of the Mediterranean coastal porous aquifers are intensively exploited. Because of climatic and anthropogenic effects, understanding the physical and geological controls on groundwater distribution and flow dynamics in such aquifers is crucial. This study presents the results of a structural investigation of a system located along the coastline of the Gulf of Lions (NW Mediterranean). A key aspect of this study relies on an onshore‐offshore integrated approach combining outcrops, seismic profiles, and borehole data analysis. This multidisciplinary approach provides constraints on pore‐fluid salinity distribution and stratigraphic organization, which are crucial in assessing the modes of groundwater/seawater exchanges. Onshore, Lower Pliocene deposits dip gently seaward. They are unconformably overlain by Holocene clays in the lagoons. Offshore the Pliocene deposits either outcrop at the seabed or are buried below nonconsolidated sands infilling paleo‐valleys. Beneath the lido, the groundwater salinity distribution consists of salty pore water, overlying fresher pore water. Active circulation of groundwater masses is inferred from the geophysical results. In particular, offshore outcrops and paleo‐valleys may play an important role in salt water intrusion.  相似文献
