As a basic and significant operator in map generalization, polyline simplification needs to work across scales. Perkal’s ε-circle rolling approach, in which a circle with diameter ε is rolled on both sides of the polyline so that the small bend features can be detected and removed, is considered as one of the few scale-driven solutions. However, the envelope computation, which is a key part of this method, has been difficult to implement. Here, we present a computational method that implements Perkal’s proposal. To simulate the effects of a rolling circle, Delaunay triangulation is used to detect bend features and further to construct the envelope structure around a polyline. Then, different connection methods within the enveloping area are provided to output the abstracted result, and a strategy to determine the best connection method is explored. Experiments with real land-use polygon data are implemented, and comparison with other algorithms is discussed. In addition to the scale-specificity inherited from Perkal’s proposal, the results show that the proposed algorithm can preserve the main shape of the polyline and meet the area-maintaining constraint during large-scale change. Simulation models based on cellular automata (CA) are widely used for understanding and simulating complex urban expansion process. Among these models, logistic CA (LCA) is commonly adopted. However, the performance of LCA models is often limited because the fixed coefficients obtained from binary logistic regression do not reflect the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of transition rules. Therefore, we propose a variable weights LCA (VW-LCA) model with dynamic transition rules. The regression coefficients in this VW-LCA model are based on VW by incorporating a genetic algorithm in a conventional LCA. The VW-LCA model and the conventional LCA model were both used to simulate urban expansion in Nanjing, China. The models were calibrated with data for the period 2000–2007 and validated for the period 2007–2013. The results showed that the VW-LCA model performed better than the LCA model in terms of both visual inspection and key indicators. For example, kappa, accuracy of urban land and figure of merit for the simulation results of 2013 increased by 3.26%, 2.96% and 4.44%, respectively. The lattice parameter of magnesiowüstite (Mg0.6Fe0.4)O has been measured up to a pressure of 30 GPa and a temperature of 800 K, using an external heated diamond anvil cell and diffraction using X-rays from a synchrotron source. The experiments were conducted under quasi-hydrostatic condition, using neon as a pressure transmitting medium. The experimental P-V-T data were fitted to a thermal-pressure model with the isothermal bulk modulus at room temperature K T0 = 157 GPa, (?K TO /?P) T =4, (?K T /?T) P =-2.7(3) × 10-2 GPa/K, (?K T /?T) v =-0.2(2) × 10-2 GPa/K and the Anderson-Grüneisen parameter δ T =4.3(5) above the Debye temperature. The data were also fitted to the Mie-Grüneisen thermal equation of state. The least-squares fit yields the Debye temperature θ DO = 500(20) K, the Grüneisen parameter γ 0=1.50(5), and the volume dependence q=1.1(5). Both thermal-pressure models give consistent P-V-T relations for magnesiowüstite to 140 GPa and 4000 K. The P-V-T relations for magnesiowüstite were also calculate by using a modified high-temperature Birch-Murnaghan equation of state with a δ t of 4.3. The results are consistent with those calculated by using the thermal-pressure model and the Mie-Grüneisen relation to 140 GPa and 3000 K. 相似文献

Summary This paper deals with the determination of subsidence parameters on a sloping ground surface above a completely mined underground panel in an inclined seam. A rays projection method is analytically developed to derive the subsidence components on the sloping ground surface from the corresponding ones on an assumed equivalent horizontal surface through the point of the mean elevation of the sloping surface above the extracted panel. Using the derived equations, the variation of subsidence with the inclination of the ground surface is analysed. An example is given to illustrate the application of the rays projection method in predicting subsidence effects on a sloping surface. 相似文献

The Arctic sea ice minimum records appeared in the Septembers of 2007 and 2012, followed by high snow cover areas in the Northern Hemisphere winters. The snow cover distributions show different spatial patterns in these two years: increased snow cover in Central Asia and Central North America in 2007, while increased snow cover in East Asia and northwestern Europe in 2012. The high snow cover anomaly shifted to higher latitudes in winter of 2012 compared to 2007. It is noticed that the snow cover had positive anomaly in 2007 and 2012 with the following conditions: the negative geopotential height and the related cyclonic wind anomaly were favorable for upwelling, and, with the above conditions, the low troposphere and surface air temperature anomaly and water vapor anomaly were favorable for the formation and maintenance of snowfalls. The negative geopotential height, cyclonic wind and low air temperature conditions were satisfied in different locations in 2007 and 2012, resulting in different spatial snow cover patterns. The cross section of lower air temperature move to higher latitudes in winter of 2012 compared to 2007. 相似文献
