The proper motions of stars in the main sequence and of luminosity class III giants are analyzed kinematically. A new method has been used for reliably separating all the parameters of the Ogorodnikov-Milne model based on representing the proper motions of the stars in coordinate systems whose poles lie on each of the three principal axes of the galactic trihedron. Solutions for stars in different spectral classes are obtained. The main sequence is found to subdivide into two zones (near and far stars) with a fairly sharp boundary at B-V=0.5. It is shown that the Parenago effect may be related to the different distances from the sun of the main sequence stars.  相似文献

A computer simulation of the sputtering of lunar soil by solar wind protons was performed with the TRIM program. The rate of the sputtering-induced erosion of regolith particles was shown to be less than 0.2 Å per year. A preferential sputtering of Ca, Mg, and O was found along with a less intense sputtering of Fe, Si, and Ti. However, with no other selection mechanisms, surface concentrations of the atoms would differ from the volume ones by no more than 6 %. The enrichment of rims of regolith particles with iron occurs as a result of selective removal of lighter atoms from the lunar surface because of different energies of escape from the Moon's gravity. The energy distributions proved to be the same for all sorts of the sputtered atoms, except for implanted hydrogen; thus, a greater fraction of the atoms left on the lunar surface corresponds to heavier elements. According to simulation results, the concentration of reduced iron observed in the mature regolith could be attained during the time of regolith particle exposure to the present flux of solar wind (105 years). Thus, sputtering can provide the concentration of Fe0 observed in regolith. On periphery of a cloud of impact vapor the temperature is too low for an irreversible selective removal of evaporation products; thus, a meteoritic bombardment contributes to the formation of composition of the rims of regolith particles mainly through enrichment of the rims with elements from the bulk of the particles. The estimates of fluxes of backscattered solar wind protons and of sputtered protons, earlier implanted to the regolith, demonstrated that their contribution to the proton flux near the poles is only 104 cm–2 s–1. This is by two orders of magnitude smaller than the proton flux from the Earth's magnetosphere which is, therefore, the main source of protons for permanently shaded polar craters of the Moon.  相似文献

This paper describes the application of environmental isotopes and injected tracer techniques in estimating the contribution of storms as well as annual precipitation to groundwater recharge and its circulation, in the semi‐arid region of Bagepalli, Kolar district, Karnataka. Environmental isotopes 2H, 18O and 3H were used to study the effect of storms on the hydrological system, and an isotope balance was used to compute the contribution of a storm component to the groundwater. Some of the groundwater samples collected during the post‐storm periods were highly depleted in stable isotope content with higher deuterium excess relative to groundwater from the pre‐storm periods. Significant variation in deuterium excess in groundwater from the same area, collected in two different periods, indicates the different origin of air masses. The estimated recharge component of a storm event of 600 mm to the groundwater was found to be in the range of 117–165 mm. There was no significant variation in environmental tritium content of post‐storm and pre‐storm groundwater, indicating the fast circulation of groundwater in the system. After completion of the environmental isotope work, an injected radiotracer 3H technique was applied to estimate the direct recharge of total precipitation to the groundwater. Based on our 1997 observations with a CCD camera and narrow-band filters attached to the 1-m Assy Obsev vatory telescope, we extensively study the latitudinal variations in limb darkening and normal albedo on Jupiter's disk at wavelengths of 387, 445, 502, 619, and 702 nm. In addition, we carried out observations in 1998 with broad-band red, green, and blue filters. Apart from a general regularity—the increase in darkening coefficient with normal albedo of Jupiter's cloud cover—there is an appreciable scatter of darkening coefficients for the same albedo, which is most pronounced in the ultraviolet. This scatter may result from differences in the optical depth of the aerosol haze above the clouds. The lack of any wavelength dependence of the darkening coefficients is confirmed for Jupiter's polar regions, while at other latitudes, they decrease with decreasing wavelength.  相似文献

The previously proposed (Rodin, 2002) method for calculating the microphysical properties of spatially inhomogeneous rarefied aerosol media with mixing using the lowest-order moments of the size distribution is generalized to particle coagulation. We show that when the problem is formulated in terms of moments, all of the solutions admitted by the stochastic coagulation equation lie within a narrow range whose boundaries can be determined by means of quadratic programming. We discuss the choice of an optimal solution within this range and compare the moment method with the results of our computations by the classical finite-difference method using a model of photochemical aerosols in Titan's atmosphere as an example. The moment method allows the efficiency of microphysical computations to be significantly increased by using precomputed low-dimension interpolation tables. It can be used to construct self-consistent models for the globular circulation of planetary atmospheres.  相似文献

Spectral analysis of the components of the relative atmospheric angular momentum vector is performed based on the series of these components for the 6 h intervals within the period of 1958–2000. These series have been computed in the Subbureau of the Atmospheric Angular Momentum of the International Earth Rotation Service using the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis of atmospheric observations. The basic harmonics of diurnal tides are determined. New results on the fortnight's and week's duration oscillations of the equatorial components of the atmospheric angular momentum are obtained. The zonal tides transformation mechanisms in the atmosphere are discussed. It is shown that the main mechanism of the zonal tides effect on the atmospheric variability is the amplitude modulation of daily oscillations of the relative atmospheric angular momentum. The effects of the atmospheric tides on the Earth rotation are discussed.  相似文献

It was found recently that fast electrons travel through the plasma of the solar corona in the form of beam-plasma structure (BPS), which consists of electrons and Langmuir waves. In this paper the influence of scattering BPS Langmuir waves off plasma ions (l+i=l+i) on BPS velocity is studied. We show that the maximum BPS velocity equals 0.35c, which is close to the velocity of Type III bursts sources.  相似文献

The dynamical evolution of meteoroid streams associated with cornets Encke, Halley, Machholz 1986 VIII and asteroid Phaethon is discussed. It is shown that the planetary perturbations can greatly increase the streams thickness and each stream may produce several couples of meteor showers active in different seasons of the year.
