Multi‐storey main buildings constructed with a low‐rise podium structure possess some architectural merits but the setback features of such a building complex may lead to seismic response enlargement of the main buildings. This paper explores the possibility of using passive friction dampers to connect the podium structure to the main buildings to prevent their seismic response enlargement without violating the architectural features. A series of shaking table tests were carried out on one 3‐storey and one 12‐storey building models in fully‐separated, rigidly connected, and friction damper‐linked configurations. Four sets of seismic ground motions were selected as inputs to the shaking table. The control competence of two buildings linked with friction damper was evaluated by comparison of their responses with those from fully‐separated and rigidly connected cases. Experimental results showed that unfavourable seismic response amplification did occur in the building complex in the rigidly connected case. By contrast, friction damper showed effectiveness in reducing absolute acceleration and interstorey drift responses of both buildings if friction force level was appropriately applied. 香港花岗岩风化分级化学指标体系与风化壳分带   总被引:7,自引:3,他引:7  
火成岩的化学风化过程实质上就是碱、碱土金属组分水解淋失与脱硅富铁铝化的地球化学过程。不同风化程度的岩石处于整个化学风化过程的不同阶段,因而具有不同的化学成分和风化度指标。笔者在对香港九龙两个地方5个钻孔共计150件不同深度、不同风化程度的样品化学全分析结果与岩土风化程度宏观判别结果的相互对比、选择和确认的基础上,建立了香港地区花岗岩风化岩土风化程度工程分级的化学指标体系。这一研究成果的提出不仅有利于提高花岗岩风化岩土工程分类的科。学性、可靠性和实用性,而且可以为风化岩土工程特性与风化作用关系研究提供理论依据。  相似文献

Most existing hydromechanical models for unsaturated soils are not able to fully capture the nonlinearity of stress–strain curves at small strains (less than 1%). They cannot therefore, for example, accurately predict ground movements and the performance of many earth structures under working conditions. To tackle this problem, a state‐dependent bounding surface plasticity model has been newly developed. Particularly, the degradation of shear modulus with strain at small strains ranging from 0.001% to 1% is focused. The proposed model is formulated in terms of mean average skeleton stress, deviator stress, suction, specific volume and degree of saturation. Void ratio‐dependent hydraulic hysteresis is coupled with the stress–strain behaviour. Different from other elastoplastic models for unsaturated soils, plastic strains are allowed inside bounding surfaces. In this paper, details of model formulations and calibration procedures of model parameters are presented. To evaluate the capability of the new model, it is applied to simulate a series of triaxial compression tests on compacted unsaturated silt at various suctions. Effects of suction, drying and wetting as well as net stress on unsaturated soil behaviour are well captured. The model shows good predictions of the degradation of shear modulus with strain over a wide range of strains from 0.001% to 1%. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study the spatial distribution of solar energetic particles (SEPs) throughout the inner heliosphere during six large SEP events from the period 1977 through 1979, as deduced from observations on the Helios 1 and 2, IMP 7 and 8, ISEE 3, and Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft. Evidence of intensity maxima associated with the expanding shock wave is commonly seen along its central and western flanks, although the region of peak acceleration or “nose” of the shock is sometimes highly localized in longitude. In one event (1 January 1978) a sharp peak in 20?–?30 MeV proton intensities is seen more strongly by Voyager at ~?2 AU than it is by spacecraft at nearby longitudes at ~?1 AU. Large spatial regions, or “reservoirs,” often exist behind the shocks with spatially uniform SEP intensities and invariant spectra that decrease adiabatically with time as their containment volume expands. Reservoirs are seen to sweep past 0.3 AU and can extend out many AU. Boundaries of the reservoirs can vary with time and with particle velocity, rather than rigidity. In one case, a second shock wave from the Sun reaccelerates protons that retain the same hard spectrum as protons in the reservoir from the preceding SEP event. Thus reservoirs can provide not only seed particles but also a “seed spectrum” with a spectral shape that is unchanged by a weaker second shock.  相似文献

利用ENVISAT/ASAR和ALOS/PALSAR数据,结合两路差分干涉测量技术获得了汶川地震的同震形变信息和震前、震后地面在卫星视线(light of sight,简称LOS)方向上的形变特征。结果表明,汶川地震引起的地面形变范围广,程度大,地震形变沿断层向北北东向扩展,所形成的差分干涉条纹明显。地面的形变特征对于推断断层的性质,研究地震形变和地震发育特征具有重要的参考价值。另外,将同震雷达差分干涉测量的结果与利用USGS发布的汶川地震有限元断层模型(finite fault model)反演的LOS方向的形变进行了对比验证,发现二者在断裂带的上盘具有较好的一致性,但在下盘却有较大的误差。通过不同传感器干涉结果的对比发现,L波段的雷达干涉结果更能够反映汶川大地震在龙门山断裂带附近的地面形变信息。  相似文献

This paper presents a variation of Biot's consolidation theory for analysing problems involving unsaturated soils, and implemented using the finite element method. The numerical method is applied to a few geotechnical problems as examples and the results obtained are compared to some published data. The illustrative examples show how the numerical method can be used to analyse seepage and consolidation problems associated with unsaturated soils and demonstrate the flexibility and applicability of the presented method. 据香港九龙3个不同工程场地取得的149件不同级别的风化花岗岩样品的化学分析结果,用统计学方法,从反映岩石风化程度的18项化学指标中选取9项进行了分析计算.对其结果及其与风化程度分级的关系的研究表明有4种指标比较理想.通过对样品微观特征的观察研究和矿物成分、微孔隙率以及综合显微岩石指标(Ip)进行了描述和定量分析,发现其中一些指标有一定相关性.这些化学指标和微观特征相关的统计值在一定程度上可定量表征花岗岩的风化程度,即:随风化作用进行,碱、碱土金属组分逐渐淋失,脱硅、富铝铁化作用逐渐加强;相应地,先是钠长石风化成高岭石,其次为云母和钾长石的风化.粘土矿物所占体积百分比随风化程度增高而变大,至残积土(Ⅵ级)时已达50%左右;Ip指标值下降,微孔隙率增高.文章综合出各个风化级别的指标变化范围及平均值供花岗岩分布区花岗岩风化野外调查和研究工作参考.  相似文献

Property and behaviour of sand–pile interface are crucial to shaft resistance of piles. Dilation or contraction of the interface soil induces change in normal stress, which in turn influences the shear stress mobilised at the interface. Although previous studies have demonstrated this mechanism by laboratory tests and numerical simulations, the interface responses are not analysed systematically in terms of soil state (i.e. density and stress level). The objective of this study is to understand and quantify any increase in normal stress of different pile–soil interfaces when they are subjected to loading and stress relief. Distinct element modelling was carried out. Input parameters and modelling procedure were verified by experimental data from laboratory element tests. Parametric simulations of shearbox tests were conducted under the constant normal stiffness, constant normal load and constant volume boundary conditions. Key parameters including initial normal stress ( $ sigma_{{{text{n}}0}}^{prime } $ ), initial void ratio (e 0), normal stiffness constraining the interface and loading–unloading stress history were investigated. It is shown that mobilised stress ratio ( $ tau /sigma_{text{n}}^{prime } $ ) and normal stress increment ( $ Updelta sigma_{text{n}}^{prime } $ ) on a given interface are governed by $ sigma_{{{text{n}}0}}^{prime } $ and e 0. An increase in $ sigma_{{{text{n}}0}}^{prime } $ from 100 to 400 kPa leads to a 30 % reduction in $ Updelta sigma_{text{n}}^{prime } $ . An increase in e 0 from 0.18 to 0.30 reduces $ Updelta sigma_{text{n}}^{prime } $ by more than 90 %, and therefore, shaft resistance is much lower for piles in loose sands. A unique relationship between $ Updelta sigma_{text{n}}^{prime } $ and normal stiffness is established for different soil states. It can be applied to assess the shaft resistance of piles in soils with different densities and subjected to loading and stress relief. Fairly good agreement is obtained between the calculated shaft resistance based on the proposed relationship and the measured results in centrifuge model tests.  相似文献
