This paper discusses the possibility of measurement of the current velocity vector characteristics averaged over the time of continuous regular down-up probings from a moving carrier. The measurements can be carried out either from a moving vessel or from a helicopter, floating on or hovering above the sea surface. As an illustration for the suggested technique,in situ observations compiled by a free-component (±XYZ) VEGA-3 probe in the Guiana current region in March 1990 are provided. Comparison of the results with buoy data shows good agreement within the accuracy limits of the instruments employed.Translated by Vladimir A. Puchkin.  相似文献

 Real-time trackline plots of surficial sediment acoustic impedance delineate several sedimentary facies off Garden Key in the Dry Tortugas. The sea floor within a 6×6 km surveyed area consists of carbonate muds (silts), sands and shell, rock, and live corals. The 4-kHz acoustic data supports this finding by providing a pictographic representation of the distribution and structure of several sediment facies types. Plotting the gridded acoustic data with commercial mapping software (Surfer) provides a three-dimensional (3D) perspective of the bottom topography with a color contour map of surficial sediment impedance (upper 0.4 m) draped over the 3D surface.  相似文献

Lysosomal sequestration of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PNAHs), a major class of environmental contaminant, is a well-established phenomenon;1 considerably less is known about their pathological effects on lysosomes. Marine molluscs contain a number of lysosome-rich tissues and PNAHs are known to induce deleterious alterations in lysosomal structure and latency of lysosomal enzymes.2 The latter are presumed to involve destabilisation of the lysosomal membrane, resulting in increased permeability and reduced enzyme latency. If lysosomal injury involves derangement of membrane-lipid structure due to the interaction of PNAHs then it would be expected that membrane damage would be closely linked to the structural characteristics of the intruding molecule. Our results show that the effects of the isomeric PNAHs phenanthrene and anthracene on digestive cell lysosomal stability were markedly different in the marine mussel (Mytilus edulis) over the same range of tissue concentrations. Lysosomal membrane stability was determined using a cytochemical test for enzyme latency.3  相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the biological actions of selected chlorinated biphenyls (CB's) (with different degrees of chlorine substitution), using the sea urchin test system, for their ability to affect fertilisation, embryogenesis and mitotic activity. Sea urchin embryos were exposed to the test agents throughout larval development or for shorter intervals (e.g. before or after hatching). Sperm or eggs were exposed before fertilisation, thereafter the contaminants were removed from embryo cultures. The results showed maximal activities from medium-chlorinated (tetra- and hexachloro-substituted) compounds, as compared to low- and high-chlorinated biphenyls (mono-, di- and octachloro-substituted), at nominal levels ranging from 10−6m to 10−5m. This held true for the different parameters and treatment schedules. Developmental defects were only detected following post hatching exposure of embryos to CB's, whereas pre-hatching exposure failed to reveal any embryological or cytogenetic abnormalities.  相似文献

This paper discussesin situ observational data on the directed light attenuation index in the near-surface layer, collected in September 1987. The absolute light attenuation index has been evaluated for a near-shore strip of water 10–15 miles in width. When multidisciplinary research is conducted in the open sea, this part of the sea surface remains unstudied, as the observational grid for it is made larger than the spatial-temporal parameters of the biophysical processes producing optical inhomogeneities.Translated by Vladimir A. 以海链藻(Thalassiosira pseudonana)为研究对象,分别考察了以硝酸盐、铵盐和尿素为氮源的氮同位素分馏作用。在建立相应理论模型基础上,分别计算出各个实验体系的ε值。结果表明,在藻类生长初期,δ^15N均较低,其δ^15N的积累主要发生在指数增长期,在稳定期达到最高,与氮源的初始δ^15N相同;不同氮源的氮同位素分馏作用也不相同,其中以铵盐最强,硝酸盐次之,尿素最弱。考虑到实际情况下氮化合物并非单一存在,作者还进一步考察了上述3种氮源混合后对其同位素分馏作用的影响,发现混合氮源体系的表观ε值介于单一氮源时的最大与最小ε值之间,该结果较好地解释了Montoya等(1991)在Chesapeak湾的现场实验结果。  相似文献

The determination of the internal structure of the Moon using bulk waves is largely complicated due to inhomogeneities in its uppermost layer. We investigate the possibility of studying the Moon’s interior by a sensing method using the free oscillations of the Moon. The spectrum of the free oscillations is calculated for two current models of the internal structure of the Moon derived from the analysis of the Apollo seismic network data, based on new methods: the MG (Garsia, et al., 2011) and MW (Weber, et al., 2011) models. In contrast to the MG model, the MW model includes a solid inner core. In this latter model, we estimate how the shear modulus of the inner core affects the structure of the oscillations.  相似文献

Within the framework of a pair two-body problem (Sun–Jupiter, Sun–comet), the kinematics of the encounter of a minor body with a planet is investigated. The notion of points of low-velocity tangency of the orbits of the comet and Jupiter, as well as the point of Jovicentric velocity and the low-velocity tangent section of a cometary orbit, is introduced. The conditions and definitions of low-velocity and high-velocity encounters are proposed. The systems of inequalities relating the aand eparameters, which make it possible to single out those comets that are likely to be objects with low-velocity encounters, are presented. The regions of orbits that have low-velocity tangent sections, i.e., regions of low-velocity tangency of orbits, are singled out on the (a, e) plane. These regions agree well with the corresponding parameters of the orbits of real comets whose evolution contains low-velocity encounters with Jupiter.  相似文献

The potentialities of a procedure for calculating the Pechora River runoff from the pan-Arctic river basin are studied. The procedure is based on the use of a model describing heat and water exchange between the land surface and the atmosphere and two variants of input data sets relying on global databases on meteorological characteristics and land surface parameters and data of standard measurements of meteorological characteristics in combination with parameters of the land surface of the basin, taken from global databases. In both cases, use was made of the method for optimizing part of the most important model parameters, including both land surface parameters and correction factors for some meteorological elements.  相似文献

A consistent patter, indicating that subtroughs in the He+ density and plasma bubbles can be considered as phenomena of the same origin, has been obtained within the scope of the existent model of equatorial plasma bubbles. The study has been performed based on the measurements of the ISS-b satellite, which flew during the period of high solar activity. The conclusion has been made based on a comparative analysis of the characteristics of subtroughs with the parameters of the known equatorial phenomena. (1) The similarity of the LT variations in the latitude of the minimums of subtroughs in the He+ density has been revealed. (2) It has been displayed that the variations in the averaged depth of subtroughs change from season to season similarly to the LT variations in the average velocity of the equatorial vertical plasma drift. (3) Good correlation (R = 0.67) between the occurrence probability of subtroughs and equatorial spread F statistics, constructed as the functions of LT and month, has been obtained. (4) The obtained velocity of the possible rise of plasma irregularities (observed as regions depleted in He+) is in good agreement with the ionosonde, satellite, and radar measurements of the equatorial plasma bubble velocities of the same period. (5) It has been indicated that plasma irregularities, reaching the altitudes of the topside ionosphere in the low-latitude and midlatitude regions during high solar activity, are most observable as depleted regions (subtroughs) of He+ density.  相似文献
