Isoprenoids in the nonsaponifiable lipids (NSL) fraction of Okinawan mangroves were analyzed with special reference to their importance as lipid input into estuarine ecosystems. Triterpenoids and phytosterols comprised the major proportion of NSL. Identifications of the triterpenoids and phytosterols in NSL fraction were based on the interpretation of 13C-NMR and GC-MS spectra. The triterpenoids and phytosterols mainly comprised 11 and 6 compounds, respectively. The major components were lupeol, β-amyrin and taraxerol for triterpenoids, and β-sitosterol and stigmasterol for phytosterols. The diversity in the terpenoid composition was noted in both leaves and roots of mangrove species, implying the chemotaxonomic utility of terpenoids. Terpenoid compositions of the root are not always similar to that of leaf, suggesting that terpenoids in the root are produced by biosynthesis in situ, not by translocation of the synthate from the leaf. Terpenoids existed in greater proportion in the outer parts of the root. These data are likely to contribute to estimating the lipid input from mangrove trees adjacent to estuarine sediments and the ocean.  相似文献

Concentrations of zinc, manganese, copper, cadmium, magnesium and iron in three species of red, four species of brown and three species of green macroalgae, and also in sea water have been determined at two localities along the coast of Aqaba. Significant differences in metal concentrations were found between the various species (P<0·01). Similar significant differences were found with regard to different metals (P<0·001). Concentration factors ranged between 102 for Cd and 9·2 × 104 for Fe. The difference in levels of metals between the two localities, however, was not significant (P > 0·05). Of the three groups of algae examined, rhodopytes exhibited the highest concentration power of metals.  相似文献

In this study an Euler-Euler two-phase model was developed to investigate the tunnel erosion beneath a submarine pipeline exposed to unidirectional flow. Both of the fluid and sediment phases were described via the Navier-Stokes equations, i.e. the model was implemented using time-averaged continuity and momentum equations for the fluid and sediment phases and a modified kε turbulence closure for the fluid phase. The fluid and sediment phases were coupled by considering the drag and lift interaction forces. The model was employed to simulate the tunnel erosion around the pipeline laid on an erodible bed. Comparison between the numerical result and experimental measurement confirms that the numerical model successfully predicts the bed profile and velocity field during the tunnel erosion. It is evident that the sediments are transported as the sheet-flow mode in the tunnel erosion stage. Also the transport rate under the pipe increases rapidly at the early stage and then reduces gradually at the end of the tunnel erosion beneath pipelines.  相似文献

The Abadan plain in southwestern Iran has important petroleum reservoir potential but poorly defined structural setting. It is located at the Mesopotamian foredeep basin, bounded by the Arabian plate and the Dezful Embayment. The main reservoir in this field is the Fahliyan formation, composed of reef carbonates. Most of the Abadan area is flat and covered by recent alluvial deposits with no outcrops. Studies of the structures in this area have provided information about the structural history and allowed better reservoir and drilling management. Seismic spectral decomposition techniques have been utilized as a quick and effective interpretation tool. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) and continuous wavelet transforms (CWT) have been used to convert time to frequency domain, and have been applied to detect fault systems in the reservoir. Application of the Fast Fourier transform (FFT) and continuous wavelet transforms (CWT) indicate that the Abadan reservoir consists normal extensional system of the reservoir which display paralleling of contour common depth in two sides of extensional system in some regions and large displacement between two sides of contours indicate that system is normal in which hanging wall moved over footwall. Various displacements between sides indicate parallel strike-slip movements which are associated with reverse faulting and inversion tectonics.  相似文献

The abundance and health of scleractinian coral communities of Hormuz Island were investigated. For this purpose, we employed 20 m line intercept transects—12 in the intertidal zone and 15 subtidally to evaluate coral cover and community composition. The estimated dead coral coverage was 6.21%±0.81%, while live coral coverage was 16.93%±1.81%, considered as very poor. Totally, 12 genera were recorded, of which Porites with 11.9%±1.4% live cover was the dominant, while Goniopora had the least cover (0.07%±0.08%). Based on Mann-Whitney U-test, live coral coverage, dead coral coverage, algal coverage, cover of other benthic organisms and abiotic components showed significant univariate differences between zones (p<0.05). The Spearman correlation test between the abundance of biotic and abiotic components indicated significant negative correlation of live coral and sand with zoantharian and significant positive correlation of algae and other benthic organisms with rubble. The reef health indices used for the corals indicated that, in general, the environmental conditions were not suitable, which could be attributed to both natural and anthropogenic factors, the most important of which was zoantharian’ overgrowth on the scleractinian corals in this region.  相似文献

Sturgeons are the most important principal market species in the Caspian Sea. In the present study, measurement of blood parameters was carried out with the aim of evaluating the normal value of hematological and serum biochemical parameters of brood stocks Acipenser persicus during spawning season. Blood samples were collected from 36 brood stocks of A. persicus (18 males and 18 females) during the spawning season. Higher value of red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin, haematocrit was observed in male breeders with significant differences between female breeders (p>0.05). Haemoglobin and haematocrit value in this study was within the range of 8.70 to 9.2 g/dL and 29.73% to 30.26%, respectively. The statistically significant differences between mean corpuscular volumes, mean corpuscular haemoglobin, lymphocyte and neutrophil percentages, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and creatine kinase were observed in the male and female brood stocks. It is concluded from this study, some of the hematological and serum biochemical parameters of male and female A. persicus breeders were significantly varied from each other. In comparative investigation with earlier reports, the values of red blood cells, haemoglobin and haematocrit are highly varied due to age variations of fish. However, further studies are necessary to understand the impact of sexual, age, size, length, and season and habitat variation. Serum biochemical parameters can be used for confirming the maturity of A. persicus and monitoring any changes in the water quality parameters and soil.  相似文献

Scouring in the channel contractions occurs due to the flow concentration within them inducing excessive bed shear stress. This is a complex process, so it is difficult to describe it through a general empirical model, the present research work describes contemporary conceptual relationships to estimate the local scour depth under equilibrium and clear water conditions in rectangular channels. Incidentally, gene-expression programming (GEP), evolutionary polynomial regression (EPR), and model tree (MT)-based formulations were utilized to predict the scour depth at long contractions. The input variables comprising average flow velocity, critical threshold velocity of sediment movement, flow depth, median particle diameter, geometric standard deviation, and uncontracted and contracted channel widths were used to feed the applied models. The performances of the developed approach were compared with those calculated using existing scour prediction equations. The results showed that the developed MT approach in terms of linear relationships could predict the scour depth more precisely than GEP, EPR, and the traditional equations. What is more, dimensionless parameter of h1/b1 (ratio of upstream flow depth to uncontracted channel width) was determined as the most influential variable in predicting the scour depth in long contractions.  相似文献

This paper presents a method for identification of the hydrodynamic coefficients of the dive plane of an autonomous underwater vehicle. The proposed identification method uses the governing equations of motion to estimate the coefficients of the linear damping, added mass and inertia, cross flow drag and control. Parts of data required by the proposed identification method are not measured by the onboard instruments. Hence, an optimal fusion algorithm is devised which estimates the required data accurately with a high sampling rate. To excite the dive plane dynamics and obtain the required measurements, diving maneuvers should be performed. Hence, a reliable controller with satisfactory performance and stability is needed. A cascaded controller is designed based on the coefficients obtained using a semi-empirical method and its robustness to the uncertainties is verified by the μ-analysis method. The performance and accuracy of the identification and fusion algorithms are investigated through 6-DOF numerical simulations of a realistic autonomous underwater vehicle.  相似文献
