We have observed about 15 active regions on the Sun, with the Advanced Stokes Polarimeter and Dick Dunn Telescope at NSO/SP to map the Stokes parameters in the photospheric Fe 6302.5 Å and chromospheric Mg I 5173 Å lines, during 1999‐2002. The observations are corrected for dark current, gain, instrumental polarization and cross‐talk using ASP pipeline. The wavelength calibration is carried out using the O2 telluric line 6302 Å which is also present in the observations. The photospheric and chromospheric longitudinal magnetograms are made from the Stokes V profiles, which were intercalibrated with the Kitt Peak magnetograms. The plasma motions are inferred from the line bisector measurements at different positions of the spectral line. In this paper we present the height dependence of Doppler velocity scatter plots of a sunspot in the photospheric Fe I 6302 Å line. 相似文献

The theory of periodical shear flow is applied for the exploration of the effect of solar granulation on highfrequency waves in the solar photosphere. It is shown that upgoing and downgoing waves are trapped in intergranular spaces and granules, respectively. Upgoing waves in fast downflows are unstable. We describe X-ray and optical observations of the symbiotic star RX Pup. From low resolution optical spectra, we obtain a reddening for RX Pup of E(B−V)=0.79. We use the neutral column density corresponding to this reddening as a lower limit for the X-ray spectra fits. The X-ray spectra can be fitted with either a two-temperarure thermal plasma model or a single-temperature plasma plus a narrow line at ≈0.55 keV, each modified by interstellar absorption. The RX Pup X-ray flux is not variable within the observation exposure time, suggesting that unlike in most CVs, an accretion disk boundary layer does not contribute significantly to the X-ray flux. Instead, the X-ray emission may come from shock-heated gas further away from the compact object. 相似文献

Based on spectra taken with a 6-m telescope, we analyzed the abundances of chemical elements in the He-weak stars HD 21699
and HD 217833, estimated their surface magnetic fields (Bs = 4000 and 4500 G, respectively) from the magnetic intensification of spectral lines, and determined their microturbulences

t = 0.80 and 0.75 km s−1, respectively). The low values of V
t show that the stellar atmospheres are stabilized by a magnetic field, which explains the presence of diffusion processes
that lead to chemical anomalies. Helium is strongly underabundant, and its deficiency is −1.50 and −1.81 dex in HD 21699 and
HD 217833, respectively. We used model atmospheres to determine the effective temperatures, T
eff = 16 000 and 15 450 K, and surface gravities, log g = 4.15 and 3.88, for the stars from the Hδ line, implying that they lie on the main sequence near the stars of luminosity

We describe the serendipitous discovery of a very steep-spectrum radio point source in low-frequency Giant Metrewave Radio
Telescope (GMRT) images of the supernova remnant (SNR) G76.9+1.0. The steep spectrum, as well as the location of the point
source near the centre of this SNR confirm that this indeed is the pulsar J2022+3842. Archival Chandra X-ray data shows a point source coincident with the radio point source. However, no pulsed radio emission was detected despite
deep searches at 610 MHz and 1160 MHz – which can be understood to be due to temporal broadening of the pulses. Weak pulsed
emission has indeed been seen at 2 GHz with the Green Bank Telescope (GBT), establishing the fact that scattering is responsible
for its non-detection at low radio frequencies. We underline the usefulness of low-frequency radio imaging as a good technique
