Polarized single crystal absorption spectra, in the spectral range 40 000–5 000 cm-1, were obtained on Co2+ in trigonally distorted octahedral oxygen fields of buetschliite-type K2Co(SeO3)2 (I), K2Co2(SeO3)3 (II) and zemannite-type K2Co2(SeO3)3 · 2H2O (III). Site symmetries of Co2+ are
m (D3d) in I, 3m (C3v) in II, and 3 (C3) in III. The spectra can be interpreted on the basis of an electric dipole mechanism, wherein transitions of Co2+ in the centrosymmetric site in I gain intensity from dynamic removal of the inversion centre by vibronic coupling. In accordance with the elongation of the CoO6 octahedra along the trigonal axis, the split component E(g) of the ground state 4T1g in octahedral fields is the ground state in all three compounds. Trigonal field parameters Dq(trig), D, D and the Racah parameters B have been fitted to the energies of spin allowed transitions (293 K) as follows: I: 744, 94, -16, and 838 cm-1, resp.; II: 647, 227, 42, and 798 cm-1, resp.; III: 667, 181, 21, and 809 cm-1, respectively. Racah parameters C were estimated from the energy of some observed spin-forbidden transitions to be 3770 (I), 3280 (II), and 3465 cm-1 (III). Values of Dq and of the Racah parameters B and C indicate slight differences of Co2+-O bonding in I as compared to II and III, with somewhat higher covalency in compounds II and III which contain face-sharing CoO6 octahedra with short Co-Co contacts. Also, in II and III the observed D values do not agree with theoretical D values, predicted from the magnitude of the mean octahedral distortions. 相似文献

The observational evidence for infall associated with star formation is discussed. Whilst spectral energy distributions of
young protostellar objects are consistent with infall, the best direct evidence comes from millimetre and sub-millimetre spectral
line observations. Considerations of the formation of the line profiles and the chemical effects of gas-grain interactions
suggest that there is only a very short ‘window’ in the evolutionary track of a protostellar object during which infall is
directly observable. This may explain why so few infall candidates have been detected. It is argued that self-consistent models
of the dynamical and chemical evolution of collapsing cores, coupled to multiple high resolution line observations, will provide

Abstract A series of photographs are presented that illustrate the ripple form and the kinematics of suspended sediment in a wave field. The strong shear on the local upstream side of the ripples and the subsequent vortex development on the downstream side is illustrated. A coupled wave–tide–surge model has been developed in this study in order to investigate the effect of the interactions among tides, storm surges, and wind waves. The coupled model is based on the synchronous dynamic coupling of a third-generation wave model, WAM cycle 4, and the two-dimensional tide–surge model. The surface stress, which is generated by interactions between wind and wave, is calculated by using the WAM model directly based on an analytical approximation of the results using the quasi-linear theory of wave generation. The changes in bottom friction are created by the interactions between waves and currents and calculated by using simplified bottom boundary layer model. In consequence, the combined wave–current-induced bottom velocity and effective bottom drag coefficient were increased in the shallow waters during the strong storm conditions. 相似文献

The seasonal variation in phytoplankton activity is determined by analysing 1385 primary production (PP) profiles, chlorophyll a (Chl) concentration profiles and phytoplankton carbon biomass concentrations (C) from the period 1998–2012. The data was collected at six different stations in the Baltic Sea transition zone (BSTZ) which is a location with strong seasonal production patterns with light as the key parameter controlling this productivity. We show that the use of Chl as a proxy for phytoplankton activity strongly overestimates the contribution from the spring production to annual pelagic carbon flow. Spring (February and March) Chl comprised 16–30% of the total annual Chl produced, whereas spring C was much lower (8–23%) compared to the annual C. Spring PP accounted for 10–18% of the total annual PP, while the July–August production contributed 26–33%, i.e. within the time frame when zooplankton biomass and grazing pressure are highest. That is, Chl failed in this study to reflect the importance of the high summer PP. A better proxy for biomass may be C, which correlated well with the seasonal pattern of PP (Pearson correlation, p < 0.05). Thus, this study suggests to account for the strong seasonal pattern in C/Chl ratios when considering carbon flow in coastal systems. Seasonal data for PP were fitted to a simple sinusoidal wave model describing the seasonal distribution of PP in the BSTZ and were proposed to present a better parameterizaton of PP in shallow stratified temperate regions than more commonly applied proxies. 相似文献

The present paper provides a case study of the assessment of the potential for CO2 storage in the deep saline aquifers of the Bécancour region in southern Québec. This assessment was based on a hydrogeological and petrophysical characterization using existing and newly acquired core and well log data from hydrocarbon exploration wells. Analyses of data obtained from different sources provide a good understanding of the reservoir hydrogeology and petrophysics. Profiles of formation pressure, temperature, density, viscosity, porosity, permeability, and net pay were established for Lower Paleozoic sedimentary aquifers. Lateral hydraulic continuity is dominant at the regional scale, whereas vertical discontinuities are apparent for most physical and chemical properties. The Covey Hill sandstone appears as the most suitable saline aquifer for CO2 injection/storage. This unit is found at a depth of more than 1 km and has the following properties: fluid pressures exceed 14 MPa, temperature is above 35 °C, salinity is about 108,500 mg/l, matrix permeability is in the order of 3 × 10?16 m2 (0.3 mDarcy) with expected higher values of formation-scale permeability due to the presence of natural fractures, mean porosity is 6 %, net pay reaches 282 m, available pore volume per surface area is 17 m3/m2, rock compressibility is 2 × 10?9 Pa?1 and capillary displacement pressure of brine by CO2 is about 0.4 MPa. While the containment for CO2 storage in the Bécancour saline aquifers can be ensured by appropriate reservoir characteristics, the injectivity of CO2 and the storage capacity could be limiting factors due to the overall low permeability of aquifers. This characterization offers a solid basis for the subsequent development of a numerical hydrogeological model, which will be used for CO2 injection capacity estimation, CO2 injection scenarios and risk assessment. 相似文献

New mapping in the northern part of the Paleozoic Acatlán Complex (Patlanoaya area) records several ductile shear zones and brittle faults with normal kinematics (previously thought to be thrusts). These movement zones separate a variety of units that pass structurally upwards from: (i) blueschist-eclogitic metamorphic rocks (Piaxtla Suite) and mylonitic megacrystic granites (Columpio del Diablo granite ≡ Ordovician granites elsewhere in the complex); (ii) a gently E-dipping, listric, normal shear zone with top to the east kinematic indicators that formed under upper greenschist to lower amphibolite conditions; (iii) the Middle–Late Ordovician Las Minas quartzite (upper greenschist facies psammites with minor interbedded pelites intruded by mafic dikes and a leucogranite dike from the Columpio del Diablo granite) unconformably overlain by the Otate meta-arenite (lower greenschist facies psammites and pelites): roughly temporal equivalents are the Middle–Late Ordovician Mal Paso and Ojo de Agua units (interbedded metasandstone and slate, and metapelite and mafic minor intrusions, respectively) — some of these units are intruded by the massive, 461 ± 2 Ma, Palo Liso megacrystic granite: decussate, contact metamorphic muscovite yielded a 40Ar/39Ar plateau age of 440 ± 4 Ma; (iv) a steeply-moderately, E-dipping normal fault; (v) latest Devonian–Middle Permian sedimentary rocks (Patlanoaya Group: here elevated from formation status). The upward decrease in metamorphic grade is paralleled by a decrease in the number of penetrative fabrics, which varies from (i) three in the Piaxtla Suite, through (ii) two in the Las Minas unit (E-trending sheath folds deformed by NE-trending, subhorizontal folds with top to the southeast asymmetry, both associated with a solution cleavage), (iii) one in the Otate, Mal Paso, and Ojo de Agua units (steeply SE-dipping, NE–SW plunging, open-close folds), to (iv) none in the Patlanoaya Group. 40Ar/39Ar analyses of muscovite from the earliest cleavage in the Las Minas unit yielded a plateau age of 347 ± 3 Ma and show low temperature ages of 260 Ma. Post-dating all of these structures and the Patlanoaya Group are NE-plunging, subvertical folds and kink bands. An E–W, vertical normal fault juxtaposes the low-grade rocks against the Anacahuite amphibolite that is cut by megacrystic granite sheets, both of which were deformed by two penetrative fabrics. Amphibole from this unit has yielded a 40Ar/39Ar plateau age of 299 ± 6 Ma, which records cooling through 490 °C and is probably related to a Permo-Carboniferous reheating event during exhumation. The extensional deformation is inferred to have started in the latest Devonian ( 360 Ma) during deposition of the basal Patlanoaya Group, lasting through the rapid exhumation of the Piaxtla Suite at 350–340 Ma synchronous with cleavage development in the Las Minas unit, deposition of the Patlanoaya Group with active fault-related exhumation suggested by Mississippian and Early Permian conglomerates ( 340 and 300 Ma, respectively), and continuing at least into the Middle Permian (≡ 260 Ma muscovite ages). The continuity of Mid-Continent Mississippian fauna from the USA to southern Mexico suggests that this extensional deformation occurred on the western margin of Pangea after closure of the Rheic Ocean. 相似文献

The maximal R ratios of the winter-to-summer NmF2 values of each ionosonde are calculated for a specified UT under daytime quiet geomagnetic conditions and at approximately equal levels of solar activity, based on foF2 measurement data of 98 ionosondes at mid- and low geomagnetic latitudes of the Northern and Southern hemispheres for 1957–2009. The P(R > 1) conditional probability of NmF2 winter anomaly observations, as well as the most probable RMP and average <R> of R values are calculated for low, moderate, and high solar activity on the base of foF2 measurements during the periods December 22 ± 30 days and June 21 ± 30 days.
