A CO J=4-3 map of the Orion-IRc2 region (size 80, beam 15) is presented. The outflow has a bipolar structure observed nearly pole-on. We interpret our observations in terms of an hierarchy of tubes where the fastest gas proceeds through the narrowest, innermost cone. The gas has an inhomogeneous temperature distribution and must be highly clumped. Most of the properties derived comply with the picture developed for the few known extreme high velocity outflows; however, this outflow contains exceptionally dense gas ( > 106 cm–3).  相似文献

Rotating disks and expanding supershells of ionized gas are supposed to be kinematical components essential for the formation of emission-like profiles from starburst nuclei and the narrow-line regions of Seyfert galaxies. Simple models predict a few typical features of line profiles by which disks may be recognized.A giant supershell is identified SE of the nucleus of the starburst galaxy NGC 253. We suggest that the variously reported outflow cones in Seyfert nuclei are also induced by superbubble dynamics. Zusammenfassung Nach der herkömmlichen, seit vier Jahrzehnten vertretenen und seither verschieden abgewandelten Auffassung über die Ostalpenvererzungen spielen paläozoisch entstandene Lagerstätten nur eine bescheidene Rolle. In den vergangenen fünf Jahren meldeten Kollegen aus Deutschland, Italien und österreich Bedenken gegen diese Auffassung an und berichteten von zahlreichen Metallanreicherungen, deren Ursprung paläozoisch gedeutet wird. Der Rahmen ist somit schon nach dem derzeitigen Stand der Kenntnisse beträchtlich größer und geht weit über das hinaus, was bisher als vorvariszische und variszische Lagerstätten bezeichnet wurde. Das gilt nicht nur für die Anzahl der Vorkommen und Lagerstätten, sondern auch für die Vielzahl der Paragenesen. Die Neuergebnisse beziehen sich auf Erzanreicherungen hauptsächlich mit den Metallen Fe, Cu, Mg, Sb, W, Hg und U. Diese Anreicherungen sind in mehreren zeitlichen Zyklen vom Altpaläozoikum bis Perm entstanden und wurden großteils gemeinsam mit dem Nebengestein unterschiedlich metamorphosiert.
Deposits of paleozoic origin have been considered to be only of minor importance to the conventional concepts of mineralization in the Eastern Alps. During the past five years, however, scientists from Germany, Italy and Austria raised doubts as to the correctness of these concepts describing numerous metal enrichments presumably of paleozoic origin. Hence the number of deposits and the variety of parageneses is much greater than has hitherto been assumed. The new results refer to ores enriched mainly with the following metals: Fe, Cu, Mg, Sb, W, Hg and U. The origin of these enrichments has to be attributed to several cycles from the old Paleozoic through the Permian. They were subject to different metamorphic changes together with the accessory rock.

Résumé Suivant l'interprétation traditionelle, soutenue et différement changée durant une période de 40 ans, parmi les minéralisations métalliques des Alpes Orientales les gisements d'âge paléozoÏque ne jouent qu'un rÔle subordonné. Dans les cinq dernières années des collègues allemands, italiens et autrichiens ont presenté des objections á cette interprétation et ont fait état des nombreuses concentrations métallifères, dont l'origine doit Être placée au PaléozoÏque. La cadre est donc dévenu, déjà dans l'état actuel des connaissances, plus large et bien plus nombreux sont les gisements qui peuvent Être considérés d'âge pré-hercynien ou hercynien. Cette conclusion est valable non seulement pour le nombre des manifestations et des gisements, mais aussi pour la multiplicité des paragenèses. Les nouveaux résultats concernent surtout les concentrations des métaux Fe, Cu, Mg, Sb, W, Hg et U. Ces concentrations ont été engendrées chronologiquement durants de nombreux cycles, du PaléozoÏque ancien au Permien, et ont été pour la plupart métamorphisées, parallèlement avec leurs roches encaissantes, à divers degrés d'intensité.

Geochemical processes, occurring in a stable transition zone between saltwater and freshwater, were simulated in a 2D, multi-layer flow chamber experiment. Mixing, calcite dissolution, and oxidative degradation of organic matter were identified as the main controlling factors. The results of the chamber experiment were compared to field data and verified by thermodynamic modeling. Similarity in most ion distributions suggests the general applicability of the experimental method. Differences in the redox conditions between field and experiment were reflected by the oxidants involved in the mineralization of organic carbon; while field data show evidence of sulfate reduction, the presence of oxygen in the laboratory experiment resulted in the reoxidation of sulfides.  相似文献

The Isla Cristalina de Rivera crystalline complex in northeastern Uruguay underwent a multistage magmatic and metamorphic evolution. Based on SHRIMP U–Pb zircon, Th–U–Pb monazite (CHIME-EPMA method) and K–Ar age data from key units several events can be recognized: (1) multistage magmatism at 2,171–2,114?Ma, recorded on zircon of the granulitic orthogneisses and their 2,093–2,077?Ma overgrowths; (2) a distinct amphibolite facies metamorphism at ~1,980?Ma, recorded by monazite; (3) greenschist facies reworking and shearing at ca. 606?Ma (monazite and K–Ar on muscovite) along the Rivera Shear Zone, and finally (4) intrusion of the post-tectonic Sobresaliente and Las Flores granites at around 585?Ma. Lithological similarities, geographic proximity and coeval magmatic and metamorphic events indicate a similar tectonometamorphic evolution for the Isla Cristalina de Rivera, the Valentines Block in Uruguay and the Santa María Chico Granulitic Complex in southern Brazil, since at least 2.1?Ga.  相似文献

Over the course of hydrological research projects often a large number of heterogeneous data sets are acquired from sources as diverse as boreholes, gauging stations or satellite imagery. This data then need to be integrated into models for the simulation of hydrological processes. We propose a framework for exploration of geoscientific data and visually guided preparation of such models. Data sets from a large number of sources can be imported, combined and validated to avoid potential problems due to artefacts or inconsistencies between data sets in a subsequent simulation. Boundary conditions and domain discretisations for surface and subsurface models can be created and tested regarding criteria indicating possible numerical instabilities. All data sets including simulation results can be integrated into a user-controlled 3D scene and aspects of the data can be enhanced using a number of established visualisation techniques including thresholding and user-defined transfer functions. We present the application of this framework for the preparation of a model for simulation of groundwater flow in a river catchment in southwest Germany investigated in the scope of the WESS project.  相似文献

Major and trace element compositions of rocks and coexisting phenocrysts of the Thingmúli volcano suggest a revision of the existing models for the formation of intermediate and silicic melts in Iceland. The new data define two compositional tholeiitic trends with a significant gap between them. A high-iron trend (HFe) contains 6–14 wt% total FeO in silicic rocks with c. 1 wt% MgO, as well as sodic plagioclase and hedenbergite phenocrysts. A low-iron trend (LFe) contains 3–5 wt% FeO at c. 1 wt% MgO, which is typical of Iceland but higher than MORB compositions. The most evolved phenocrysts of the LFe trend do not reach iron-rich end members. The HFe trend is interpreted as a result of fractional crystallization; numerical modelling using the MELTS algorithm suggests that crystallization took place under redox conditions constrained to one-log unit below the fayalite-magnetite-quartz oxygen buffer (FMQ-1). The LFe trend is explained by a combination of mixing between rhyolite and ferrobasalt, assimilation of hydrated crust and fractional crystallization under higher redox conditions (FMQ). The two trends and the gap are best defined in a plot of Mg# versus SiO2 that is useful to unravel petrogenetic processes. For example, intermediate and silicic rocks of the Holocene volcanic systems of spreading rifts (e.g. Krafla), propagating rifts (e.g. Hekla) and off-rifts (Öræfajökull) also fall into high- and low-iron fields and outline a gap similar to Thingmúli. The identification of two compositional trends in erupted intermediate and silicic volcanic products shows that processes in the deep roots of single volcanic systems are highly diverse and likely controlled by local variations in the thermal gradients and the extend of hydrothermal alteration. Generalizations about the relationship between the compositions of intermediate and silicic rocks and plate tectonic setting, therefore, should be avoided.  相似文献
