Abstract

The Soil and Water Integrated Model (SWIM) is a continuous-time semi-distributed ecohydrological model, integrating hydrological processes, vegetation, nutrients and erosion. It was developed for impact assessment at the river basin scale. SWIM is coupled to GIS and has modest data requirements. During the last decade SWIM was extensively tested in mesoscale and large catchments for hydrological processes (discharge, groundwater), nutrients, extreme events (floods and low flows), crop yield and erosion. Several modules were developed further (wetlands and snow dynamics) or introduced (glaciers, reservoirs). After validation, SWIM can be applied for impact assessment. Four exemplary studies are presented here, and several questions important to the impact modelling community are discussed. For which processes and areas can the model be used? Where are the limits in model application? How to apply the model in data-poor situations or in ungauged basins? How to use the model in basins subject to strong anthropogenic pressure?

Two sets of active faults,northwest-and northeast-trending faults,are developed in the Chao-shan Plain of East Guangdong.After detailed interpretation of aerophotos,we have found outthat there is the clear phenomenon of sinistral dislocation of drainage system on the Huang-gang-shui fault and part of Fengshun-Shantou fault.Field investigation confirmed that the geo-morphic bodies along the two faults have undergone displacement.Large-scale topographicmapping was made at three displaced sites and samples for age dating were collected from thegeomorphic booies.Calculation indicates that the average rate of sinistral strike-slip movementin the Holocene time amounts to 1.11±0.09~2.69±0.24mm/a along the Huanggangshuifault and 3.26±0.26mm/a along the Fengshun-Shantou fault.These two more active NW-trending faults extend into sea area,where they intersect the NE-trending strongly active Nius-han Island-Xiongdi Isle-Nanpeng Isles fault at a depth of 40~50m in water.The intersection isa location favorable fo  相似文献

位于南海北缘的珠江口盆地深水区作为我国海洋油气勘探的重点区域,具有良好的油气勘探前景。本文利用钻井地热测量数据分析了珠江口盆地深水区现今地温场及岩石圈热结构特征,通过古温标反演和拉张盆地模型正演相结合的方法定量揭示了白云凹陷新生代以来的热史,总结了不同地热地质条件对油气生成的影响。研究结果表明:珠江口盆地大地热流分布特征具有北低南高的特点,同时具有“热幔冷壳”的特征。珠江口盆地深水区始新世以来经历了两期拉张过程,第一期(47.8~33.9 Ma)拉张自始新世发生,拉张强度较大,凹陷中心基底热流快速上升至~82 mW/m2;第二期(23~13.8 Ma)拉张发生于中新世,此次拉张在白云凹陷南部更强烈,白云凹陷主体在 13.8 Ma达到最高古基底热流,此后进入热沉降阶段,基底热流值一直缓慢下降。磷灰石裂变径迹、磷灰石(U-Th)/He及锆石(U-Th)/He联合反演给出了最高古地温在13.8 Ma附近达到,后期温度基本稳定。  相似文献

论文根据磁浮交通道岔梁的结构及受力特点,通过建立合理的瞬态动力学数值模型,把列车作为高速运行的荷载动态作用于道岔梁上。采用瞬态拟动力学方法模拟钢结构梁动力响应特性。研究了道岔梁上关键点位置相应的振幅、反应加速度及其时效特性。通过计算比较精确地获得工程实际中最为关注的梁的最大振动位移和加速度。研究成果可为高速磁浮实际工程设计提供借鉴。  相似文献

房山花岗岩岩体氧氢碳的同位素研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
测定了房山花岗岩侵入体的岩石、共生矿物和气液包体的氧、氢、碳的同位素组成。共生石英-黑云母和石英-全岩的δ~(18)O数据表明,房山花岗岩侵入体保存了氧同位素平衡,氧同位素温度在450—580℃之间。大多数共生黑云母-角闪石δD值的相关性基本上符合Suzuoki-Epstein关系式,可以认为房山侵入体也保存了氢同位素平衡,推算得到的岩浆流体的δD值在-70—-30之间。气液包体中CO_2的δ(13)C为-4—-8,属于一种深源碳,可以利用地下水参加岩浆后期演化的假定来解释黑云母二长闪长岩氢、碳同位素异常  相似文献

以天山公路沿线9个气象水文站1956~2005年年降水量资料为依据,采用均值统计参数和线性方程分析了天山公路沿线年降水量分布特征以及变化趋势,在此基础上,应用小波分析方法对天山公路沿线各桩号代表站年降水量做周期分析,结果表明:天山公路沿线多数路段的年降水时间序列包含了多个不同时间尺度的周期变化和演变特征,具有10~17a、8~9a以及5a以下的周期变化,10~30a时间尺度突变点多出现于20世纪80年代熏  相似文献

This work presents a novel procedure for identifying the dynamic characteristics of a building and diagnosing whether the building has been damaged by earthquakes, using a back‐propagation neural network approach. The dynamic characteristics are directly evaluated from the weighting matrices of the neural network trained by observed acceleration responses and input base excitations. Whether the building is damaged under a large earthquake is assessed by comparing the modal parameters and responses for this large earthquake with those for a small earthquake that has not caused this building any damage. The feasibility of the approach is demonstrated through processing the dynamic responses of a five‐storey steel frame, subjected to different strengths of the Kobe earthquake, in shaking table tests. A full life-cycle toxicity test, combined with histology, on calanoid copepod Schmackeria poplesia was used to study the effect of bis(tributyltin) oxide (TBTO). The results indicate no sex-specific differences in TBTO toxicity. Long-term mortalities of the copepods exposed to concentrations higher than 20 ng TBTO L−1 were significantly elevated compared with that of control, and larval development was inhibited when they were exposed to 40 and 60 ng TBTO L−1. The percentages of ovigerous females were reduced compared with the control (P<0.01) after 24 days exposure to concentrations higher than 10 ng TBTO L−1. Histological examinations suggest that exposure to TBTO might block the posterior end of the diverticula and inhibits the production of egg sacs. A modified Euler-Lotka equation was used to calculate a population-level endpoint, the intrinsic rate of natural increase (r m), from individual life-table endpoints, i.e. mortality rate, time of release of first brood, sex ratio, the fraction of ovigerous females among all females as well as the number of nauplii per ovigerous female. Apart from the highest TBTO concentration (60 ng L−1), where all females aborted their egg sacs, 20 ng TBTO L−1 was the only concentration that significantly decreased r m compared with that of control (an effect associated with decreased sex ratio). The results show that the S. poplesia is affected by prolonged exposure to low concentrations of TBTO. The full life-cycle toxicity test combined with histology experiments provides more integral understanding of the toxicity of endocrine disrupters.  相似文献
