The western Barents Sea continental margin, between 74° and 77°N, comprises 7–8 km post-Paleocene sediments. The margin sediments have been divided into four seismic sequences dated by seismic correlation to adjacent areas. This chronostratigraphy shows that the uppermost three sequences are of glacial origin, deposited during the last 2.3 m.y. A huge sedimentary wedge, the Storfjorden Fan, was deposited in front of the Storfjorden Trough between 2.3 and 0.44 Ma, whereas during the last 0.44 m.y. a more evenly distribution pattern is observed. The outbuilding of the fan is related to the onset of the northern hemisphere glaciations causing intense glacial erosion of predominantly consolidated rocks. Seismic facies interpretations indicates that the fan outbuilding was connected to large-scale mass movements. Within the uppermost part of the glacial sequence parallel and continuous reflectors and locally disturbed pattern on the upper slope are associated with downslope change in facies. Volumetric calculations, based on velocity studies and isopach maps, have been used to quantify Cenozoic erosion, sediment yield, sedimentation and erosion rates. Approximately 3300 m of post-Paleocene erosion is calculated within the drainage area of the Storfjorden Fan, of which about 1700 m was eroded in late Pliocene-Pleistocene times giving an average denudation rate of 0.63 mm/yr. 相似文献

A study of tritium content and some physicochemical parameters has been performed in order to investigate interconnection between surface and atmospheric waters and underground waters in Belgrade area. Samples of the precipitation at Zeleno Brdo-Belgrade meteorological station, the Danube and the Sava river water, and underground water (Ranney wells and piezometers) have been analyzed. The3H content, the content of dissolved ions, total hardness, and electrical conductivity have been measured. The tritium data show existence of two water strata in the aquifer. The upper stratum (about 16 m thick) contains older water (mean monthly3H concentration of 17 TU) and has weak interaction with the river and the precipitation. Below this stratum lies the principal water bearing stratum, strongly connected with the river with the3H concentration similar to that of surface water (mean monthly3H concentration of 50 TU) and spreading out through the entire aquifer. The contribution of the Sava river water and the two water layers at the Ranney well are calculated starting with the hydrological aquifer model, which supposes that three water components are mixed in the pumped Ranney well water. According to calculation results using the3H concentration and physicochemical characteristics as parameters, more than 70 percent of the water pumped by the Ranney well (in 1983) comes from the Sava with a time delay of less that 15 days.Properties of tritium distribution in precipitation, river waters, and underground water in the Belgrade region are established from the results of measurements of3H concentrations in the period 1976–1983. 相似文献

A supplement to the theory of analytical continuation of circular orbits in the restricted three-body problem is presented. The first order stability is given analytically to the first power of mass parameter . The theory of the Kirkwood gaps is discussed from this point of view. Observations of internal structure and development of four helical prominences are presented. We assume that the helically twisted fine structure threads are outlining magnetic field lines and we found that it is possible to describe the magnetic fields by the uniform twist configuration, with the twists ranging between 2 and 7. The estimated lower limits for the magnetic fields were about 20 G which give lower limits for the currents flowing along the prominences in the range between 2 × 1010 A and 2 × 1011 A and current densities at the axis of the prominences about 10-4 A m-2. The upper limit of electron drift velocity could be estimated as 1 m s-1, which is far below the critical velocities for the onset of plasma microinstabilities.The stability of the studied prominences is discussed and the criteria for the onset of eruptive instability are established for a prominence modelled as a twisted and elliptically curved magnetic flux tube which is anchored in the photosphere and affected by its mirror-current. The eruption starts when the prominence attains a critical height which must be larger than half of the footpoint separation and depends on the values of twist, radius, and footpoint distance of the magnetic flux tube. The observed examples of eruptive prominences agree very well with the predictions. Possible applications to the two-ribbon flare process are outlined.Properties of stable cylindrical prominences in equilibrium are analyzed and a criterion for the distinction between the Kuperus-Raadu and Kippenhahn-Schlüter types of prominences is proposed. According to established criteria, two of the studied prominences were of the Kuperus-Raadu type, while the other two were of the Kippenhahn-Schlüter type. 相似文献

As urbanization progresses, more realistic methods are required to analyze the urban microclimate. However, given the complexity and computational cost of numerical models, the effects of realistic representations should be evaluated to identify the level of detail required for an accurate analysis. We consider the realistic representation of surface heating in an idealized three-dimensional urban configuration, and evaluate the spatial variability of flow statistics (mean flow and turbulent fluxes) in urban streets. Large-eddy simulations coupled with an urban energy balance model are employed, and the heating distribution of urban surfaces is parametrized using sets of horizontal and vertical Richardson numbers, characterizing thermal stratification and heating orientation with respect to the wind direction. For all studied conditions, the thermal field is strongly affected by the orientation of heating with respect to the airflow. The modification of airflow by the horizontal heating is also pronounced for strongly unstable conditions. The formation of the canyon vortices is affected by the three-dimensional heating distribution in both spanwise and streamwise street canyons, such that the secondary vortex is seen adjacent to the windward wall. For the dispersion field, however, the overall heating of urban surfaces, and more importantly, the vertical temperature gradient, dominate the distribution of concentration and the removal of pollutants from the building canyon. Accordingly, the spatial variability of concentration is not significantly affected by the detailed heating distribution. The analysis is extended to assess the effects of three-dimensional surface heating on turbulent transfer. Quadrant analysis reveals that the differential heating also affects the dominance of ejection and sweep events and the efficiency of turbulent transfer (exuberance) within the street canyon and at the roof level, while the vertical variation of these parameters is less dependent on the detailed heating of urban facets. 相似文献

A new method was developed for the inversion reconstruction of gravity potential. This method offers the possibility to determine
the potential function and all of its important derivatives using the common inversion of gravity gradients and the first
derivatives of potential. Gravity gradients can be originated from Torsion balance measurements, while the first derivatives
of potential can be derived from the deflections of the vertical data. Different fields having great importance can be originated
from this reconstructed potential function at any points of the investigated area. The advantage of this method is that the
solution can be performed by a significantly over-determined inverse problem. Test computations were performed for the inversion
reconstruction of gravity potential. There were 248 torsion balance measurements and 13 points where the deflections of the
vertical are known in our test area. This inversion algorithm is rather stable. Gravity potential, the first and the second
derivatives of the potential were determined for the test area by this suggested method. This method gives a good possibility
for a useful geodetic application; deflections of the vertical based on torsion balance measurements can be determined for
the whole area for each torsion balance stations. 相似文献
