Iraq, the land of two rivers, has a history that extends back millennia and is the subject of much archaeological research. However, little environmental research has been carried out, and as such relatively little is known about the interaction between Iraq’s vegetation and climate. This research serves to fill this knowledge gap by investigating the relationship between the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and two climatic factors (precipitation and air temperature) over the last decade. The precipitation and air temperature datasets are from the Water and Global Change Forcing Data ERA-Interim (WFDEI), and the NDVI dataset was extracted from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) at 250 m spatial resolution and 16 day temporal resolution. Three different climatic regions in Iraq, Sulaymaniyah, Wasit, and Basrah, were selected for the period of 2001–2015. This is the first study to compare these regions in Iraq, and one of only a few investigating vegetation’s relationship with multiple climatic factors, including precipitation and air temperature, particularly in a semi-arid region. The interannual, intra-annual and seasonal variability for each region is analysed to compare the different responses of vegetation growth to climatic factors. Correlations between NDVI and climatic factors are also included. Plotting annual cycles of NDVI and precipitation reveals a coherent onset, fluctuation (peak and decline), with a time lag of 4 months for Sulaymaniyah and Wasit (while for the Basrah region, high temperatures and a short rainy season was observed). The correlation coefficients between NDVI and precipitation are relatively high, especially in Sulaymaniyah, and the largest positive correlation was (0.8635) with a time lag of 4 months. The phenological transition points range between 3 and 4 month time lag; this corresponds to the duration of maturity of the vegetation. However, when correlated with air temperature, NDVI experiences an inverse relationship, although not as strong as that of NDVI and precipitation; the highest negative correlation was observed in Wasit with a time lag of 2 months (? 0.7562). The results showed that there is a similarity between temporal patterns of NDVI and precipitation. This similarity is stronger than that of NDVI and air temperature, so it can be concluded that NDVI is a sensitive indicator of the inter-annual variability of precipitation and that precipitation constitutes the primary factor in germination while the air temperature acts with a lesser effect.  相似文献

活动断层上盘浅部的高应力异常通常被认为是强震前兆之一,而低应力一般认为不会发生地震是安全的。然而多个震例表明,低应力状态下的地震危险性具有多解性。为进一步探讨强震前的应力异常特征,本研究利用2008年汶川MS8.0级地震和2013年芦山MS7.0级地震前的地应力测量结果和地震活动性参数b值,在考虑深部应力对浅部应力影响强度的基础上,建立了浅部应力对深部应力的响应模式,并对强震发生前不同的应力状态与地震危险性的关系进行了讨论。结果表明:活动断层上盘低b值对应浅部高地应力为潜在地震危险区,而对应低地应力则为地震危险性不确定区,需要借助更多的手段进一步确定;2008年汶川MS8.0级地震前的低应力状态可能反映了区域应力存在较强的调整。本研究对运用断层浅部应力状态评估断层地震危险性具有一定的启示意义。  相似文献

城市小区是城市人居环境的重要构成部分,与城市居民生活关系密切。面向城市小区环境综合分析模拟的需求,本文结合虚拟地理环境中虚拟场景和集成建模等概念,设计了可支撑分析模拟的城市小区场景数据组织方法。通过小区系统、小区系统要素和小区系统要素关系来对复杂小区环境信息进行对象化的描述,并按照层次化结构实现城市小区建模场景的组织。利用统一数据表达与交换模型UDX对小区系统-要素-关系中的数据内容进行统一的表达和存储,在此基础上设计了城市小区建模场景对象;利用可扩展接口的方式,实现从城市小区建模场景中抽取符合分析模型需求的数据内容,由此支撑将不同地理分析模型与城市小区建模场景集成。试验结果表明,本文所设计的方法能够有效组织多源异构的城市小区环境数据,并可以便捷地为不同研究方向的城市小区分析模型提供所需建模数据。  相似文献

双电层结构对研究黏土力学特性、冻土水分迁移等具有重要意义。为了探究不同影响因素对黏土颗粒扩散双电层电势分布的影响,借鉴Gouy-Chapman-Stern双电层理论,基于Nernst-Planck方程和Poisson-Boltzmann方程,利用数值软件COMSOL定量分析了温度、浓度、颗粒尺寸、颗粒形状以及溶液相对介电常数对扩散双电层电势分布的影响规律。研究表明:温度对电势分布的影响不明显,但随着温度以及Stern层厚度增加,黏土颗粒表面电势和Stern电势均增加;而随着溶液浓度以及相对介电常数减小,表面电势值增加;在矿物成分、表面电荷密度以及颗粒形状确定的情况下,尺寸对于扩散双电层电势分布的影响不显著;但颗粒的不规则形状对电势分布的影响较为明显,当颗粒形状存在夹角时,夹角处的表面电势远大于其他位置,且夹角越小,夹角处表面电势值越大。  相似文献

西安地震台新建与原形变山洞引洞进深、覆盖层厚度、观测环境等存在差异,山洞内各架设一套DSQ型水管倾斜仪进行形变观测。选取2套仪器2020年观测数据,就数据完整率、固体潮波形记录、自然环境干扰、强远震同震响应、数据内在质量等进行对比分析。结果表明: ①与原形变山洞相比,新建山洞观测数据的稳定性、内在质量较优;②新建山洞架设的水管仪基本不受大风、降雨等自然环境干扰的影响; ③受人员参观影响,新形变山洞水管仪数据完整率、相对噪声水平略差; ④基线长度不同,可能是2套仪器记录强远震同震响应幅度不同的原因之一。总体上,随着新建形变山洞观测环境的逐渐稳定,其各项指标具有稳中向优的趋势。  相似文献

移动摄影测量技术SfM(Structure from Motion)的发展使活动构造研究中快速获得野外中小区域内高精度DEM数据更便捷,DEM数据精度是目前活动构造与测量领域较关注的问题。本文通过对比非RTK模式无人机摄影测量并结合地面控制点(GCPs)生成的SfM DEM数据与基于RTK移动摄影测量技术获取的RTK-SfM DEM数据差异,重点分析搭载RTK模块的移动摄影测量技术获取的DEM数据在垂向上的精度。数据采集、处理与对比结果表明:在添加地面控制点后的非RTK模式无人机摄影测量生成的DEM数据中,除测量区域边缘照片较少而产生畸变外,大部分地区畸变率较小;基于移动RTK技术摄影测量获取的高程数据畸变率更小,且与非RTK模式无人机摄影结合地面控制点生成的高程数据存在约0.85 m的系统高程误差,减去该误差后,点云对比结果表明二者95%以上的点垂向误差均<0.05 m;搭载RTK模块的移动摄影测量技术获取的DEM数据在垂向上具有更高的精度,且节省了时间与人工成本。  相似文献

首先采用国际上通用的德国地学中心(GFZ)与武汉大学(WHU)精密产品,对GNSS精密卫星轨道和精密钟差产品精度进行初步评估;然后基于WHU精密轨道和钟差产品对18个分布于东半球的MGEX地面站进行多系统定位测试,同时也对BDS的B1I/B3I与B1C/B2a两组新、旧频点的精密单点定位性能进行对比分析。结果表明:1)四大导航系统(GPS、GLONASS、BDS、Galileo)的卫星轨道产品精度均在cm级,精密钟差内符合精度均优于0.1 ns,北斗三号(BDS-3)卫星钟精度相比北斗二号(BDS-2)有显著提升。2)亚太地区BDS的定位精度优于其他3个系统;在其他地区,GPS定位精度最优(与Galileo基本相当),优于BDS和GLONASS的定位结果。3)BDS PPP平均收敛时间静态模式约为50.33 min、动态模式约为77.83 min,收敛速度略低于GPS、Galileo,优于GLONASS。4)B1C/B2a与B1I/B3I双频消电离层组合PPP定位性能基本相当。  相似文献

Neoproterozoic marine dolomite cements represent reliable, albeit complex, archives of their palaeoenvironment. Petrological and high-resolution geochemical data from well-preserved fibrous dolomite and pyrite in the upper Ediacaran (ca 551·1 to 548·0 Ma) Dengying Formation in south-west China are presented and discussed here. The aim of this research is to reconstruct the redox state of late Ediacaran shallow seawater and porewater in the Sichuan Basin using early marine diagenetic fabrics. Based on crystalline texture and axis, four basic types of fibrous dolomite cements formed penecontemporaneously in a microbialite reef setting at the platform margin: (i) bladed dolomites (replacement from a high-Mg calcite precursor); (ii) fascicular fast dolomites (replacement from an aragonitic precursor); (iii) fascicular slow dolomites; and (iv) radial slow dolomites. The latter two fabrics are considered direct marine porewater precipitates due to their length-slow character, cathodoluminescent zonation, and enriched copper and cobalt concentrations. Marine cements yield rare earth element and yttrium patterns comparable to modern seawater and represent a refined set of archive data relative to previously published bulk dolostones. Redox-sensitive elements and cathodoluminescence indicate that the fascicular fast dolomites formed in suboxic seawater, while fascicular slow and radial slow dolomites formed in euxinic marine porewaters. Microbial sulphate reduction during the formation of fascicular slow and radial slow dolomites is recognized by nanometre-scale spheroidal ankerite and sulphur-containing dolomite, and intergrown pyrite grains with U-shaped δ34S transects. Data shown here suggest predominantly suboxic shallow late Ediacaran seawater and euxinic marine porewaters, with microbial activity promoting the direct precipitation of dolomite.  相似文献

Alluvial fans are usually constructed through episodic flood events. Despite the significance of these ephemeral floods on the morphodynamics of alluvial fans, depositional responses to the variations in flood conditions are still poorly documented. This greatly limits the ability to interpret ancient sedimentary successions of fans and the associated flood hydrodynamics. The Quaternary Poplar Fan from endorheic Heshituoluogai Basin provides an optimal case for addressing this issue. Based on the variations in facies associations and flood conditions, three depositional stages – namely; lobe building stage, channel building stage and the abandonment stage – are identified. During the lobe building stage the Poplar Fan is predominately constructed through incised channel flood, sheetflood and unconfined streamflood, with coeval development of distal surficial ephemeral ponds. The channel building stage is characterized by the development of gravelly braided rivers. However, only scour pool fill deposits are preferentially preserved in the Poplar Fan. During the abandonment stage, erosional lags and aeolian sands randomly occur throughout the fan, while gully deposits can only be found in the distal fan. The distinctive facies architecture of the Poplar Fan is likely to be the result of periodicity of climate fluctuations between wetter and drier conditions during the Late Pleistocene to Holocene. The ephemeral floods formed under wetter conditions usually show high discharge and sediment concentrations which facilitate the lobe building processes. During the drier periods, only gravelly braided rivers can be developed through ephemeral floods as the intensity and frequency in precipitation, discharge and sediment concentrations of the flood flows significantly decrease. The abandonment stage of the fan may occur between recurring flood episodes or during the driest periods. Furthermore, the long-term (105 to 106 year) geomorphic evolution of the Poplar Fan shows the influence of tectonic activities. The ongoing thrust uplift tectonic activities have caused destruction of the fan but can also facilitate the fan-head trench/incision of the fan, which in turn facilitate the progradation of the fan. This study proposes a new depositional model for alluvial fans constructed through episodic flood events, which shows the character of both sheet-flood dominated and stream-flow dominated end members of alluvial fans. These findings supplement the understanding of the variability of the alluvial fans and provide means to characterize rock record of alluvial fans and their associated flood and climate conditions.  相似文献
