Zusammenfassung Ein neues Gerät mit einer verbesserten Konstruktion zur Messung der Schallgeschwindigkeit und Schalldämpfung im Sediment in situ läßt Eindringtiefen bis 3 m zu. Die Einsatzmöglichkeit ist durch höhere Schallsendepegel und höhere Empfindlichkeit erweitert worden. Zusätzlich wurde das Gerät umgerüstet zur Messung der Schalldämpfung im Sediment in situ. Als Schalldämpfungssignal dient die Regelspannung eines Empfangsverstärkers. Die Dämpfungswerte im Sediment werden auf die Dämpfungswerte im Seewasser bezogen. Vier Tabellen mit Meßwerten der Schallgeschwindigkeit und Schalldämpfung aus Nord- und Ostsee sind beigefügt.
Experiments for measuring in situ the velocity and attenuation of sound in sediments
Summary A new device of an improved design for measuring in situ the velocity and attenuation of sound in sediments now covers depths of penetration up to 3 m. The range of application has been enlarged by a higher source level of sound and by a greater sensitivity. In addition, the device has been adapted to in situ measurements of sound attenuation in sediments. The control voltage of a ceiving amplifier serves as sound attenuation signal. The attenuation values in sediments are referred to those in sea water. Four tables providing the velocity and attenuation of sound in the North and Baltic Seas are attached.

Expériences de mesures de la vitesse du son et de son amortissement dans le sédiment in situ
Résumé Un appareil nouveau, de construction améliorée pour mesurer la vitesse du son et de son amortissement dans le sédiment in situ permet une pénétration jusqu' à 3 m. De plus larges possibilités d'utilisation ont été obtenues en élevant le niveau d'émission du son et par plus de sensibilité. De plus l'équipement a été modifié en vue de la mesure de l'amortissement du son dans le sédiment in situ. Les valeurs d'amortissement dans le sédiment sont rapportées aux valeurs d'amortissement dans l'eau de mer. En annexe figurent quatre tableaux donnant les mesures de la vitesse du son et de son amortissement obtenues en mer du Nord et Baltique.

Zusammenfassung An vier feldgeologisch untersuchten Beispielen, dem Gräfenthaler Horst im Frankenwald, der Fränkischen Linie bei Kronach, der Kulmbacher Verwerfung bei Kirchleus und an Verwerfungszonen im Steigerwald wird gezeigt, daß die fränkischen Verwerfungen als Flächen eines zusammenhängenden Strukturfeldes angesehen werden können, das trotz seiner verschiedenartigen Erscheinungsformen im Grund- und Deckgebirge auf eine gemeinsame Ursache zurückgehen dürfte.
Four areas in Northern Bavaria, the Gräfenthaler Horst in the Frankenwald, the Franconian Line near Kronach, the Kulmbach Fault near Kirchleus and fault zones in the Steigerwald, were investigated by different field methods. The authors are in the opinion that these Franconian faults are elements of a connecting structural region though different tectonic phenomena may be observed on the surface.

Résumé Dans le nord de la Bavière des grands accidents tectoniques de direction NW/ SE, dont quelques-uns traversent le socle hercynien, d'autres la couverture mésozoique avoisinante, ont été étudiés par des methodes diverses. Quoique leurs caractères changent selon l'étage affectée, ces accidents sont des élements d'un seul domaine structural et ont apparement une origine commune.

The future status of the surface ocean around New Zealand was projected using two Earth System Models and four emission scenarios. By 2100 mean changes are largest under Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5 (RCP8.5), with a +2.5°C increase in sea surface temperature, and decreases in surface mixed layer depth (15%), macronutrients (7.5–20%), primary production (4.5%) and particle flux (12%). Largest macronutrient declines occur in the eastern Chatham Rise and subantarctic waters to the south, whereas dissolved iron increases in subtropical waters. Surface pH projections, validated against subantarctic time-series data, indicate a 0.335 decline to ~7.77 by 2100. However, projected pH is sensitive to future CO2 emissions, remaining within the current range under RCP2.6, but decreasing below it by 2040 with all other scenarios. Sub-regions vulnerable to climate change include the Chatham Rise, polar waters south of 50°S, and subtropical waters north of New Zealand, whereas the central Tasman Sea is least affected.  相似文献

The aim of this experimental study was to determine the solubility of cassiterite in natural topaz- and cassiterite-bearing granite melts at temperatures close to the solidus. Profiles of Sn concentrations at glass–crystal (SnO2) interface were determined following the method of (Harrison, T.M., Watson, E.B., 1983. Kinetics of zircon dissolution and zirconium diffusion in granitic melts of variable water content. Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology 84, 66–72). The cassiterite concentration calculated at the SnO2–glass interface is the SnO2 solubility. Experiments were performed at 700–850 °C and 2 kbar using a natural F-bearing peraluminous granitic melt with 2.8 wt.% normative corundum. Slightly H2O-undersaturated to H2O-saturated melt compositions were chosen in order to minimize the loss of Sn to the noble element capsule walls. At the nickel–nickel oxide assemblage (Ni–NiO) oxygen fugacity buffer, the solubility of cassiterite in melts containing 1.12 wt.% F increases from 0.32 to 1.20 wt.% SnO2 with an increasing temperature from 700 to 850 °C. At the Ni–NiO buffer and a given corundum content, SnO2 solubility increases by 10% to 20% relative to an increase of F from 0 to 1.12 wt.%. SnO2 solubility increases by 20% relative to increasing Cl content from 0 to 0.37 wt.% in synthetic granitic melts at 850 °C. We show that Cl is at least as important as F in controlling SnO2 solubility in evolved peraluminous melts at oxygen fugacities close to the Ni–NiO buffer. In addition to the strong effects of temperature and fO2 on SnO2 solubility, an additional controlling parameter is the amount of excess Al (corundum content). At Ni–NiO and 850 °C, SnO2 solubility increases from 0.47 to 1.10 wt.% SnO2 as the normative corundum content increases from 0.1 to 2.8 wt.%. At oxidizing conditions (Ni–NiO +2 to +3), Sn is mainly incorporated as Sn4+ and the effect of excess Al seems to be significantly weaker than at reducing conditions.  相似文献

Microplastics are ubiquitous in the environment, are frequently ingested by organisms, and may potentially cause harm. A range of studies have found significant levels of microplastics in beach sand. However, there is a considerable amount of methodological variability among these studies. Methodological variation currently limits comparisons as there is no standard procedure for sampling or extraction of microplastics. We identify key sampling and extraction procedures across the literature through a detailed review. We find that sampling depth, sampling location, number of repeat extractions, and settling times are the critical parameters of variation. Next, using a case-study we determine whether and to what extent these differences impact study outcomes. By investigating the common practices identified in the literature with the case-study, we provide a standard operating procedure for sampling and extracting microplastics from beach sand.  相似文献

长宁地区地震活动复杂,发生在长宁背斜轴部的长宁MS6.0地震及其后续中强余震的震源机制与相距仅十几公里的南部向斜区内的中强震具有显著差异;这种差异仅仅是由于发震断层构造不同所造成的,还是孕育地震的应力场本身也存在局部变化?为了回答这一问题,本文在通过双差层析成像反演修正小震定位和波速结构的基础上,利用小震综合震源机制解方法获取了长宁地区地壳应力场的精细结构,并据此分析了其与中强震震源机制解的力学一致性.研究发现,长宁地区地壳应力场的最大主应力轴在整个区域内基本都处于近水平状态,其方位虽由北向南发生了一定角度的顺时针旋转,但也基本保持为近东西向;相比之下,应力类型在长宁背斜轴部和南部向斜区之间存在显著差异——前者为逆冲型,而后者为走滑型.同时,这两个局部区域的应力场与对应区域内的中强震震源机制解的吻合度较高,但与非对应区域内的中强震震源机制解的吻合度较低,甚至在力学上是相抵触的,表明区域应力场的局部改变是长宁地区复杂地震活动的必要力学基础.通过岩石力学估算,本文认为岩石泊松比的横向差异很可能是造成这种应力场局部改变的主要成因.此外,本文还对长宁MS  相似文献

Near-infrared (NIR) absorption bands related to total water (4000 and 7050 cm−1), OH groups (4500 cm−1) and molecular H2O (5200 cm−1) were studied in two polymerised glasses, a synthetic albitic composition and a natural obsidian. The water contents of the glasses were determined using Karl Fischer titration. Molar absorption coefficients were calculated for each of the bands using albitic glasses containing between 0.54 and 9.16 wt.% H2O and rhyolitic glasses containing between 0.97 and 9.20 wt.% H2O. Different combinations of baseline type and intensity measure (peak height/area) for the combination bands at 4500 and 5200 cm−1 were used to investigate the effect of evaluation procedure on calculated hydrous species concentrations. Total water contents calculated using each of the baseline/molar absorption coefficient combinations agree to within 5.8% relative for rhyolitic and 6.5% relative for albitic glasses (maximum absolute differences of 0.08 and 0.15 wt.% H2O, respectively). In glasses with water contents >1 wt.%, calculated hydrous species concentrations vary by up to 17% relative for OH and 11% relative for H2O (maximum absolute differences of 0.33 and 0.43 wt.% H2O, respectively). This variation in calculated species concentrations is typically greater in rhyolitic glasses than albitic. In situ, micro-FTIR analysis at 300 and 100 K was used to investigate the effect of varying temperature on the NIR spectra of the glasses. The linear and integral molar absorption coefficients for each of the bands were recalculated from the 100 K spectra, and were found to vary systematically from the 300 K values. Linear molar absorption coefficients for the 4000 and 7050 cm−1 bands decrease by 16–20% and integral molar absorption coefficients by up to 30%. Depending on glass composition and baseline type, the integral molar absorption coefficients for the absorption bands related to OH groups and molecular H2O change by up to −5.8 and +7.4%, respectively, while linear molar absorption coefficients show less variation, with a maximum change of ∼4%. Using the new molar absorption coefficients for the combination bands to calculate species concentrations at 100 K, the maximum change in species concentration is 0.08 wt.% H2O, compared with 0.39 wt.% which would be calculated if constant values were assumed for the combination band molar absorption coefficients. Almost all the changes in the spectra can therefore be interpreted in terms of changing molar absorption coefficient, rather than interconversion between hydrous species. We have used stable water isotopes (δ18O, δ2H) in combination with lumped-parameter modeling for characterizing unsaturated flow in two lysimeters vegetated with maize. The lysimeters contained undisturbed soil cores dominated by sandy gravel (Ly1) and clayey sandy silt (Ly2). Stable water isotopes were analyzed in precipitation and lysimeter outflow water over about 3 years. The mean transit time of water T and dispersion parameter PD, obtained from modeling, were higher for the silt soil in Ly2 than for the gravel soil in Ly1 (T of 362 vs. 129 d, PD of 0.7 vs. 0.12). The consideration of preferential flow (PF) paths could substantially improve the model curve fits, with 13 and 11% contribution of PF for Ly1 and Ly2 as best estimates. Different assumptions were compared to estimate the input function, that is, stable water isotope content in the recharging water. Using the isotopic composition of precipitation as input (no modification) resulted in reasonable model estimations. Best model fits for the entire observation were obtained by weighting the recharging isotopes according to average precipitation within periods of 3 and 6 months, in correspondence to changing vegetation phases and seasonal influences. Input functions that consider actual evapotranspiration could significantly improve modeling at some periods, however, this led to deviations between modeled and observed δ18O at other periods. This may indicate the influence of variable flow, so that dividing the whole observation period into hydraulically characteristic sub-periods for lumped-parameter modeling (which implements steady-state flow) is recommended for possible further improvement.  相似文献

Eutrophication and climate change are ranked among the most serious threats to the stability of marine ecosystems worldwide. The effects of nutrient loads and climatic conditions vary in direction, magnitude and spatial extent. To date the factors that are behind the scale-specific spatial and temporal variability are poorly known. In this study we assessed how variability in nutrient loads and climatic conditions at local, gulf and regional scales explained the spatial patterns and temporal trends of zooplankton and benthic invertebrates in the Gulf of Finland. In general both local and gulf scale environmental variability had an important effect on benthic invertebrate species and the variability was mainly due to local nutrient loading, gulf scale temperature and salinity patterns. Zooplankton species were equally affected by environmental variability at all spatial scales, and all nutrient load and climatic condition variables contributed to the models. The combination of variables at all spatial scales did not explain the substantially larger proportion in invertebrate variability than variables at any individual scale. This suggests that large-scale pressures such as nutrient loads and change of climatic conditions may define broad patterns of distribution but within these patterns small-scale environmental variability significantly modifies the response of communities to these large-scale pressures.  相似文献
