Digital elevation model (DEM) and the derived terrain parameters e.g. contour, slope, aspect, drainage pattern, etc are required
for natural resources management, infrastructure planning and disaster management. The present paper aims at generating DEM
from ERS tandem pair using interferometric technique supported by differential GPS measurements (DGPS) and multispectral optical
data. Validation of DEM has been carried out by DGPS measurements. Ground Control Points (GCP) established by DGPS measurements
have been used to georeference the IRS-1D optical data that has finally been co-registered with SAR amplitude image. Optical
data, co-registered with ERS - I SAR data has helped in locating the GCP’s and check points, precisely, for refinement of

Airborne LiDAR has found application in an increasing number of mapping and Geo-data acquisition tasks. Apart from terrain
information generation, applications such as automatic detection and modeling of objects like buildings or vegetation for
the generation of 3-D city models have been explored. Besides the height itself, height texture defined by local variations
of the height is a significant parameter for object recognition. The paper explores the potential of the analysis of height
texture as a cue for the automatic detection of objects in LiDAR datasets. A number of texture measures were computed. Based
on their definition and computation these measures were used as bands in a classification algorithm, and objects like buildings,

A World Bank-aided project on sodic land reclamation in Uttar Pradesh is being executed by U.P. Bhumi Sudhar Nigam, Lucknow,
and Remote Sensing Applications Centre, U.P., Lucknow has the responsibility of sodic land mapping for the execution of land
reclamation programme at the cadastral level. Sodic lands are mainly concentrated in the Gangetic alluvial plains but the
problem of sodicity is particularly acute in the canal-irrigated areas. A study of the distribution pattern of sodic lands
in canal and noncanal command areas in a reclamation site (covering 60 villages out of which sodic lands were mapped in 51
villages) of Etah district in Uttar Pradesh, indicates that 18.39 per cent area of the canal command villages was barren sodic
which was 13.41 per cent of the total geographical area of the site (15417 ha), however, 11.69 per cent area was recorded
to be barren sodic in the non-canal command villages which was only 3.16 per cent of the geographical area of the site. The
results of soil chemical analysis indicate that barren sodic lands of canal command area are saline-sodic with higher concentration
of soluble salts (pH2 >8.5, EC2 >4 dSm−1), however, those of non-canal command area are sodic (pH2 >8.5, EC2 <4 dSm−1). The post-monsoon ground level in the canal-irrigated areas was in the critical and semicritical zone (< 3.0 mbgl) whereas
it was well below the semi-critical zone in the non-canal command area, which indicates that the high ground water level is

This article reports a preliminary work in which two site specific seasonal algorithms have been proposed for estimating the
suspended sediments concentration (SSC) from the digital numbers recorded on Indian Remote sensing Satellite, IRS-P4 Ocean
Colour Monitor (OCM) sensor. For estimation of SSC, the proposed algorithms utilize dark pixel deduction atmospheric correction
technique. The computations are performed with respect to north east monsoon phase situations of Palk Strait coastal stretch.
The algorithms performance was satisfactory during the north east monsoon period. Although the results obtained cannot be
generalized, we suggest that the authority of proposed algorithms can be extended to other seasons with the addition of more
temporal experimental validation data sets and with numeric constants adjusted to present existing conditions. (As this area

The study evaluated the performance and suitability of AnnAGNPS model in assessing runoff, sediment loading and nutrient loading under Malaysian conditions. The watershed of River Kuala Tasik in Malaysia, a combination of two sub-watersheds, was selected as the area of study. The data for the year 2004 was used to calibrate the model and the data for the year 2005 was used for validation purposes. Several input parameters were computed using methods suggested by other researchers and studies carried out in Malaysia. The study shows that runoff was predicted well with an overall R2 value of 0.90 and E value of 0.70. Sediment loading was able to produce a moderate result of R2 = 0.66 and E = 0.49, nitrogen loading predictions were slightly better with R2 = 0.68 and E = 0.53, and phosphorus loading performance was slightly poor with an R2 = 0.63 and E = 0.33. The erosion map developed was in agreement with the erosion risk map produced by the Department of Agriculture, Malaysia. Rubber estates and urban areas were found to be the main contributors to soil erosion. The simulation results showed that AnnAGNPS has the potential to be used as a valuable tool for planning and management of watersheds under Malaysian conditions. 相似文献

This article presents a modular photogrammetric recording and image analysis system for inspecting the material characteristics of transparent foils, in particular Ethylen–TetraFluorEthylen-Copolymer (ETFE) foils. The foils are put under increasing air pressure and are observed by a stereo camera system. Determining the time-variable 3D shape of transparent material imposes a number of challenges: especially the automatic point transfer between stereo images and, in temporal domain, from one image pair to the next. We developed an automatic approach that accommodates for these particular circumstances and allows reconstruction of the 3D shape for each epoch as well as determining 3D translation vectors between epochs by feature tracking. The North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83) provides horizontal coordinates for more than 250,000 geodetic stations. These coordinates were derived by a least squares
adjustment of existing terrestrial and space-based geodetic data. For pairs of first order stations with interstation distances
between 10km and 100km, therms discrepancy between distances derived fromNAD 83 coordinates and distances derived from independentGPS data may be suitably approximated by the empirical rulee=0.008 K0.7 where e denotes therms discrepancy in meters and K denotes interstation distance in kilometers. For the same station pairs, therms discrepancy in azimuth may be approximated by the empirical rule e=0.020 K0.5. Similar formulas characterize therms discrepancies for pairs involving second and third order stations. Distance and orientation accuracies, moreover, are well
within adopted standards. While these expressions indicate that the magnitudes of relative positional accuracies depend on
station order, absolute positional accuracies are similar in magnitude for first, second, and third order stations. Adjustment

In this work we have developed a theoretical model that helps the interpretation of the remotely sensed thermal infrared measurements carried out over citrus orchards. A detailed analysis of the different factors which take part in the definition of the effective emissivity and temperature (observation height, viewing angle, type of soil, dimensions and separation between orange trees) is made. The model was validated under vertical observation in a citrus orchard during seven nights. In this situation we have determined that the model performs to an accuracy of about 1%. 相似文献
