We have studied the characteristics of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) associated with Deca-Hectometric (DH) type II radio bursts (1–14 MHz) in the interplanetary medium during the year 1997–2005. The DH CMEs are divided into two parts: (i) DH CMEs (All) and (ii) DH CMEs (Limb). We found that 65% (177/273) of all events have the speed >900 km?s?1 and the remaining 35% (96/273) events have the speed below 900 km?s?1. The average speed of all and limb DH CMEs are 1230 and 1288 km?s?1, respectively, which is nearly three times the average speed of general population of CMEs (473 km?s?1). The average widths of all and limb DH CMEs are 105° and 106°, respectively, which is twice the average width (52°) of the general population of CMEs. We found a better correlation between the speed and width of limb DH CMEs (R=?0.61) than all DH CMEs (R=?0.53). Only 28% (177/637) of fast >900 km?s?1 general population of CMEs are reported with DH type II bursts counterpart. The above results gives that the relation between the CME properties is better for limb events. 相似文献

Abstract– We investigated three‐dimensional structures of comet Wild 2 coma particle impact tracks using synchrotron radiation (SR) X‐ray microtomography at SPring‐8 to elucidate the nature of comet Wild 2 coma dust particles captured in aerogel by understanding the capture process. All tracks have a similar entrance morphology, indicating a common track formation process near the entrance by impact shock propagation irrespective of impactor materials. Distributions of elements along the tracks were simultaneously measured using SR‐XRF. Iron is distributed throughout the tracks, but it tends to concentrate in the terminal grains and at the bottoms of bulbs. Based on these results, we propose an impact track formation process. We estimate the densities of cometary dust particles based on the hypothesis that the kinetic energy of impacting dust particles is proportional to the track volume. The density of 148 cometary dust particles we investigated ranges from 0.80 to 5.96 g cm?3 with an average of 1.01 (±0.25) g cm?3. Moreover, we suggest that less fragile crystalline particles account for approximately 5 vol% (20 wt%) of impacting particles. This value of crystalline particles corresponds to that of chondrules and CAIs, which were transported from the inner region of the solar system to the outer comet‐forming region. We present first results from a monitoring campaign of GRS 1915+105 undertaken with the USA X-ray timing experiment on the ARGOS satellite. The Ultra-luminous Compact X-ray Sources (ULXs)in nearby spiral galaxies and the Galactic super-luminaljet sources sharethe common spectral characteristic that they haveextremely high disk temperatures which cannot be explainedin the framework of the standard accretion disk modelin the Schwarzschild metric. We have calculated an extreme Kerr disk model to examine if the Kerr disk model can instead explain the observed `too hot' accretion disk spectra.We found that the Kerr disk spectrum becomes significantly hardercompared to the Schwarzschild disk only when the disk is highlyinclined.For super-luminal jet sources, which are known to beinclined systems, the Kerr disk model may thuswork if we choose proper values for the black hole angular momentum. For the ULXs, however, the Kerr disk interpretation will be problematic,as is is highly unlikely that their accretion disks are preferentiallyinclined. 相似文献

Observations with the balloon-borne Sunrise/Imaging Magnetograph eXperiment (IMaX) provide high spatial resolution (roughly 100 km at disk center) measurements of the magnetic field in the photosphere of the quiet Sun. To investigate the magnetic structure of the chromosphere and corona, we extrapolate these photospheric measurements into the upper solar atmosphere and analyze a 22-minute long time series with a cadence of 33 seconds. Using the extrapolated magnetic-field lines as tracer, we investigate temporal evolution of the magnetic connectivity in the quiet Sun’s atmosphere. The majority of magnetic loops are asymmetric in the sense that the photospheric field strength at the loop foot points is very different. We find that the magnetic connectivity of the loops changes rapidly with a typical connection recycling time of about 3±1 minutes in the upper solar atmosphere and 12±4 minutes in the photosphere. This is considerably shorter than previously found. Nonetheless, our estimate of the energy released by the associated magnetic-reconnection processes is not likely to be the sole source for heating the chromosphere and corona in the quiet Sun. 相似文献

Under the assumption that the photospheric quiet Sun magnetic field is turbulent, the cancellation function has previously been used to estimate the true, resolution-independent mean, unsigned vertical flux 〈|B z |〉true. We show that the presence of network elements, noise, and seeing complicate the measurement of accurate cancellation functions and their power law exponents κ. Failure to exclude network elements previously led to estimates that were too low for both the cancellation exponent κ and 〈|B z |〉true. However, both κ and 〈|B z |〉true are overestimated due to noise in magnetograms. While no conclusive value can be derived with data from current instruments, our Hinode/SP results of κ?0.38 and 〈|B z |〉true?270 gauss can be taken as upper bounds. 相似文献

Recent years have seen increasing efforts to directly measure some aspects of the general relativistic gravitomagnetic interaction
in several astronomical scenarios in the solar system. After briefly overviewing the concept of gravitomagnetism from a theoretical
point of view, we review the performed or proposed attempts to detect the Lense-Thirring effect affecting the orbital motions
of natural and artificial bodies in the gravitational fields of the Sun, Earth, Mars and Jupiter. In particular, we will focus
on the evaluation of the impact of several sources of systematic uncertainties of dynamical origin to realistically elucidate

Fitting the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of galaxies is an almost universally used technique that has matured significantly
in the last decade. Model predictions and fitting procedures have improved significantly over this time, attempting to keep
up with the vastly increased volume and quality of available data. We review here the field of SED fitting, describing the
modelling of ultraviolet to infrared galaxy SEDs, the creation of multiwavelength data sets, and the methods used to fit model
SEDs to observed galaxy data sets. We touch upon the achievements and challenges in the major ingredients of SED fitting,
with a special emphasis on describing the interplay between the quality of the available data, the quality of the available
models, and the best fitting technique to use in order to obtain a realistic measurement as well as realistic uncertainties.
We conclude that SED fitting can be used effectively to derive a range of physical properties of galaxies, such as redshift,
stellar masses, star formation rates, dust masses, and metallicities, with care taken not to over-interpret the available
data. Yet there still exist many issues such as estimating the age of the oldest stars in a galaxy, finer details of dust
properties and dust-star geometry, and the influences of poorly understood, luminous stellar types and phases. The challenge
for the coming years will be to improve both the models and the observational data sets to resolve these uncertainties. The
present review will be made available on an interactive, moderated web page (), where the community can access and change the text. The intention is to expand the text and keep it up to date over the

We investigate the background dynamics when dark energy is coupled to dark matter in the universe described by loop quantum
cosmology. We consider dark energy of the form modified Chaplygin gas. The dynamical system of equations is solved numerically
and a stable scaling solution is obtained. It henceforth resolves the famous cosmic coincidence problem in modern cosmology.
The statefinder parameters are also calculated to classify this dark energy model. 相似文献
