This study on the effects of ultrasonic treatment on female gametophytes ofLaminaria japonica showed that:

Ultrasonic treatment had shortening effect on filaments of female gametophytes. Within certain period of time, the average length of filamentous female gametophytes was shortened.

Ultrasonic treatment had emptying effect on cells. The number of empty cells increased with time of treatment. Ultrasonic treatment had harmful effect on cells.
3.
Ultrasonic treatment could break down cell walls. The combination of frequency of 20 kHz, output of 15 W, 40 s and 60 s of treatment was best for this purpose. After ultrasonic treatment, the regeneration of female gametophytes into sporophytes was effected. Female ganetophytes could not recover after too long period of treatment.
A multi-functional high-frequency seismometer, a new instrumental system, is used for recording multi-point strain variations
of rock samples in the process of fracture development. The results indicate that strain in each point appears burst disturbance
synchronously besides a tendency variation before main fracture. The burst disturbance could probably be one of the short-impending

Veins and clasts of pseudotachylyte developed in the microbreccias of the detachment fault along the boundary of the Xiaoqinling
metamorphic core complex. The Raman spectral analysis shows that there are three kinds of textures in the matrices of the
pseudotachylyte, i.e. ultracataclastic fine-grained texture, cryptocrystalline texture and both of them with minute quantity
of glass. The three different textures are the results of different degrees of ultracataclasis. This demonstrates that ultracataclasis-comminution-melting
is the genetic mechanism of the pseudotachylytes in the Xiaoqinling detachment fault and the ultracataclasis-comminution dominates
in their formation.
