The restricted (equilateral) four-body problem consists of three bodies of masses m 1, m 2 and m 3 (called primaries) lying in a Lagrangian configuration of the three-body problem i.e., they remain fixed at the apices of an equilateral triangle in a rotating coordinate system. A massless fourth body moves under the Newtonian gravitation law due to the three primaries; as in the restricted three-body problem (R3BP), the fourth mass does not affect the motion of the three primaries. In this paper we explore symmetric periodic orbits of the restricted four-body problem (R4BP) for the case of two equal masses where they satisfy approximately the Routh’s critical value. We will classify them in nine families of periodic orbits. We offer an exhaustive study of each family and the stability of each of them.  相似文献

We analyse a UV observation with FAUST in the direction of the North Galactic Pole. The region includes a cirrus cloud (G251.2+73.3) and a dark globule, and the FAUST image contains 75 UV sources. We discuss the UV source detection and their identification with optical counterparts. We use, for the first time, low-resolution spectral information as the primary means of identifying possible optical counterparts. This is complemented, and sometimes modified, by optical information available from existing data bases. The results are interpreted with the help of maps of the distribution of far-infrared emission and of the neutral hydrogen gas. We discuss the types of objects found, the degree of matching with the predictions of our UV Galaxy model, and the general behaviour of the Galactic UV extinction in this Milky Way part. We compare the UV results for this region with similar observations in the same neighbourhood, which are less affected by dust, and attempt to explain the peculiar distribution of UV magnitudes as a result of a peculiar distribution of foreground dust, which does not follow the accepted dust-to-gas relation.  相似文献

We present the preliminary results of the astronomical site testing, which the group IATE of the OAC is developing in northwest of Argentine in collaboration with ESO and the Department of Astronomy of Cornell University. We show the results, which we have obtained from the analysis of GOES 8 satellite images in the 10.7 μm band, which allowed us to configurate a map of clear sky regions in an area between 23° and 28° S, and 66° 30′ and 69° W. We also comment logistical and tectonic aspects, and discuss next steps to follow in the research.  相似文献

We present the photometric solutions of the variable star V30 that is in the foreground of intermediate open cluster NGC 7789.The observations were done in the V passband using the 2 m telescope at the IUCAA-Girawali Observatory in India.The analysis is done using the Wilson-Devinney Code (2003) and the fitted light curve is presented.The photometric solutions reveal a W-subtype contact configuration.The photometric mass ratio is found to be 0.395 and the absolute masses and radii for the components are ded...  相似文献

Veins containing carbonates, hydrous silicates, and sulfates that occur within and between grains of augite and olivine in the Nakhla meteorite are good evidence for the former presence of liquid water in the Martian crust. Aqueous solutions gained access to grain interiors via narrow fractures, and those fractures within olivine whose walls were oriented close to (001) were preferentially widened by etching along [001]. This orientation selective dissolution may have been due to the presence within olivine of shock‐formed [001](100) and [001]{110} screw dislocations. The duration of etching is likely to have been brief, possibly less than a year, and the solutions responsible were sufficiently cool and reducing that laihunite did not form and Fe liberated from the olivine was not immediately oxidized. The pores within olivine were mineralized in sequence by siderite, nanocrystalline smectite, a Fe‐Mg phyllosilicate, and then gypsum, whereas only the smectite occurs within augite. The nanocrystalline smectite was deposited as submicrometer thick layers on etched vein walls, and solution compositions varied substantially between and sometimes during precipitation of each layer. Together with microcrystalline gypsum the Fe‐Mg phyllosilicate crystallized as water briefly returned to some of the veins following desiccation fracturing of the smectite. These results show that etching of olivine enhanced the porosity and permeability of the nakhlite parent rock and that dissolution and secondary mineralization took place within the same near‐static aqueous system.  相似文献

Abstract— The magnetometer experiment (MAG) onboard the Near‐Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR)‐Shoemaker spacecraft detected no global scale magnetization and established a maximum magnetization of 2.1 times 10?6 Am2 kg?1 for asteroid 433 Eros. This is in sharp contrast with the estimated magnetization of other S‐class asteroids (Gaspra, ?2.4 times 10?2 Am2 kg?1; Braille, ?2.8 times 10?2 Am2 kg?1) and is below published values for all types of ordinary chondrites. This includes the L/LL types considered to most closely match 433 Eros based on preliminary interpretations of NEAR remote geochemical experiments. The ordinary chondrite meteorite magnetization intensity data was reviewed in order to assess the reasonableness of an asteroid‐meteorite match based on magnetic property measurements. Natural remanent magnetization (NRM) intensities for the ordinary chondrite meteorites show at least a 2 order of magnitude range within each of the H, L, and LL groups, all well above the 2.1 times 10?6 Am2 kg?1 level for 433 Eros. The REM values (ratio of the NRM to the SIRM (saturation remanent magnetization)) range over 3 orders of magnitude for all chondrite groups indicating no clear relationship between NRM and the amount of magnetic material. Levels of magnetic noise in chondrite meteorites can be as much as 70% or more of the NRM. Consequently, published values of the NRM should be considered suspect unless careful evaluation of the noise sources is done. NASA Goddard SFC studies of per unit mass intensities in large (>10 000 g) and small (down to <1 g) samples from the same meteorite demonstrate magnetic intensity decreases as size increases. This would appear to be explained by demagnetization due to magnetic vector randomness at unknown scale sizes in the larger samples. This would then argue for some level of demagnetization of large objects such as an asteroid. The possibility that 433 Eros is an LL chondrite cannot be discounted.  相似文献
