Daily full-disk solar maps obtained at 37 GHz in the years 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1991 are analysed and compared with full-disk solar maps in H. A search for a difference in the measured angular rotation velocity for two classes of microwave low-brightness-temperature regions (LTRs), associated and not associated with H filaments, is performed. Procedures with and without statistical weights, assigned to angular rotation velocities according to the tracing time, are applied and the statistical significance of the results is discussed. A higher angular rotation velocity is measured for LTRs associated with H filaments than for the not-associated ones. This angular velocity difference is interpreted as a consequence of a height difference between these two types of LTR tracers. Changes of the solar differential rotation velocity during the activity cycle measured using LTRs as tracers are explained by the measured cycle-dependence of the association rate between LTRs and H filaments. Similarly, the north–south asymmetry in the solar rotation velocity measured tracing LTRs is explained by the measured north–south asymmetry in the association rate between LTRs and H filaments. We analyze radio observations, magnetograms and extrapolated field line maps, Hα filtergrams, and X-ray observations of two
flare events (6 February 1992 in AR 7042 and 25 October 1994 in AR 7792) and study properties, evolution and energy release
signatures of sigmoidal loop systems. During both events, the loop configuration seen in soft X-ray (SXR) images changes from
a preflare sigmoidal shape to a relaxed post-flare loop system. The underlying magnetic field system consists of a quadrupolar
configuration formed by a sheared arcade core and a remote field concentration. We demonstrate two possibilities: a sigmoidal
SXR pattern can be due to a single continuous flux tube (the 1992 event). Alternatively, it can be due to a set of independent
loops appearing like a sigmoid (the 1994 event). In both cases, the preflare and post-flare loops can be well reproduced by
a linear force-free field and potential field, respectively, computed using preflare magnetograms. We find that thermal and
non-thermal flare energy release indicators of both events become remarkably similar after applying spatial and temporal scale
transformations. Using the spatial scaling between both events we estimated that the non-thermal energy release in the second
event liberated about 1.7 times more energy per unit volume. A two-and-a-half times faster evolution indicates that the rate
of the energy release per unit volume is more than four times higher in this event. A coronal type II burst reveals ignition
and propagation of a coronal shock wave. In contrast, the first event, which was larger and released about a 10 times more
energy during the non-thermal phase, was associated with a CME, but no type II burst was recorded. During both events, in
addition to the two-ribbon flare process an interaction was observed between the flaring arcade and an emerging magnetic flux
region of opposite polarity next to the dominant leading sunspot. The arcade flare seems to stimulate the reconnection process
in an `emerging flux-type' configuration, which significantly contributes to the energy release. This regime is characterized
by the quasiperiodic injection of electron beams into the surrounding extended field line systems. The repeated beam injections
excite pulsating broadband radio emission in the decimetric-metric wavelength range. Each radio pulse is due to a new electron
beam injection. The pulsation period (seconds) reflects the spatial scale of the emerging flux-type field configuration. Since
broadband decimetric-metric radio pulsations are a frequent radio flare phenomenon, we speculate that opposite-polarity small-scale
flux intrusions located in the vicinity of strong field regions may be an essential component of the energy release process

We propose a new formal definition of discovery for a Solar System object. It is based on an objective and mathematically
rigorous algorithm to assess when a set of observations is enough to constitute a discovery. When this definition is satisfied,
in almost all cases the orbit is defined well enough to establish the nature of the object discovered (Main Belt vs. Near
Earth Asteroid, Trans-Neptunian vs. long period comet). The frequency of occurrence of exceptions is estimated by a set of
numerical experiments.
The availability of a non-subjective definition of discovery allows some rules to be adopted for the assignment of discovery
credit with a minimum risk of dispute. Such rules should be fair, encourage good practice by the observers and acknowledge
the contribution of the orbit computers providing the identifications and the orbits, as well as the one of all the contributing

The Paleocene of the Campo section, Spain has different sedimentological characteristics above and below the Mid-Paleocene Unconformity. Beneath the unconformity sediments are dominated by evaporitic carbonates and collapse breccias. Above it they are characterized by continental detrital beds alternating with paleosols. Different subaerial features are observed and correspond to different porosity values, pore–throat sizes and micrite morphologies. Unexposed or intertidal facies have low porosity, low throat–pore size (mesoporosity) and well preserved rhombic crystals. Intermediate exposed facies (paleosols) possess medium porosity, medium pore–throat size (microporosity) and mainly micro-rhombic crystals. Finally, the facies corresponding to high exposure intensity and to evaporitic original facies presents high porosity, permeability, large pore–throat size and rounded micritic crystals. These observations show that the emersion phase caused important dissolution, especially when associated with an easily dissolved original lithofacies. 相似文献

The influence of temperature changes in circumstellar silicate-like envelopes upon the polarization effects is investigated. It is shown that under the assumption that ΔT g>50° and conductivity of silicate grains is indirectly proportional toT g this mechanism can be responsible for the observed dependence of intensity vs polarization in some late-type stars, e.g. V CVn. The same effects can be produced by dirty ices and graphite grains. It is suggested that irradiation by electrons and/or protons can affect the circumstellar envelopes in a similar way, especially those of early-type stars, and irradiation by neutrons can exert an influence on the envelopes of supernovae. 相似文献

Velocity determination of 131 head echoes recorded during Perseid meteor shower observations by the Canadian 2 MW radar, has
been performed under the assumption of either their constant velocity or of its linear change with time. Even though the constant
velocities concentrated at 60 km s-1 generally accepted for the Perseids, a substantial number of echoes had velocities either
lower than 60 km s-1 or greater than this value. The inclusion of variable velocity into considerations led to surprising
result that a great portion of the head echoes accelerated (3 possibly decelerating echoes in comparison with 33 accelerating
cases on the level of relative standard deviations of output parameters not exceeding 10%). It seems that the allocation of
the ionization responsible for the head echo is not entirely identical with the instantaneous meteoroid position. As a consequence,
the velocity derived from the measured head echo coordinates can differ from the velocity of parent body. We are not able
to explain this finding at present.

In this report, we present the situation in Slovenia, Europe with regard to natural hazards, emphasizing land-sliding problems. Furthermore, we shortly present the University of Ljubljana and the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering as the new member of the ICL that was selected to be the World Center of Excellence on Landslide Risk Reduction for the period of 2008–2013 with the project entitled “Mechanisms of landslides in over-consolidated clays and flysch” in the Activity scale and targeted region as “National.” Some preliminary results of this project are shortly presented at the end. 相似文献
