The pressure broadening of spectral lines based in the Unified Franc–Condon (UCF) treatment, leads to universal line shape function L(z) which is a highly complicated integral of the Airy function and exponentialsL(z) = -2[Ai (-z)]2 exp (--3) d.An approximated analytical expression to this function has been found in terms of elementary functions, which is more precise than any previous one, giving also enough accuracy for most of the applications in molecular and plasma spectroscopy. This approximant has been obtained using the recently developed technique of two-point quasifractional approximation. A unique approximant has been found with better accuracy for both sides of the variable. The method used here is an improvement of previous procedures leaving enough free parameters in order to determine exactly the value of the maximum. On the other hand, since there are two different asymptotic forms for large negative and positive values of z, a new way to impose this additional condition has been found.  相似文献

A bright fireball appeared on the sky during the spectrophotometric observations with the 2.2-m telescope at the Calar Alto Observatory. The CCD spectrum of the scattered light of the fireball has been recorded. The spectrum is typical for a very bright, slowly moving fireball. For the first time, the spectral region 6600 – 7150 Å could be studied in such a case. Six spectral lines were identified here, the most remarkable being the lithium line at 6708 Å. The estimated lithium abundance proved to be consistent with meteoritic values.  相似文献

The first results of the television observations of meteors at the Ondejov Observatory are presented. It is shown that three spectral components may be distinguished in meteors: cool meteoric, hot meteoric and hot atmospheric. The intensity ratio of these components varies strongly even in meteors of the same velocity and within the records of single meteors. This is evidence for variations in the ablation process and in the formation of the shock wave. The so called calcium anomaly is in fact only a demonstration of these variations.  相似文献

The knowledge of the reproduction and growth background related to the shore crab Carcinus maenas promotes the use of this crab as a model crustacean to asses the potential for endocrine disruption in crustaceans. In addition, an enzyme linked inmunosorbent assay (ELISA), sensitive to the shore crab vitellogenin in serial hemolymph samples allows determination of the extent of disruption of the process of vitellogenesis in female crabs and its likely impact on reproductive output. Intermoult females Carcinus maenas were exposed to concentrations of Cd: 3 microgl(-1), Cu: 15 microgl(-1) and Zn: 700 microgl(-1) determined at the Guadalquivir estuary after the Aznalcóllar mining spill, during 21 days. Crab hemolymph samples, were taken every seven days, and analyzed through an ELISA for Carcinus maenas vitellogenin. Vitellogenin concentration along the time was fitted to a first order kinetic approach. Results showed a good correlation among experimental values and estimated ones. Metal exposure resulted in an increase in vitellogenin concentration in hemolymph, especially for cadmium.  相似文献

Akhziv Canyon is one of a series of submarine canyons incised into the continental margin of the northern Levant. The Canyon is steep and sinuous, bounded by precipitous walls. Located off northern Israel, the Canyon was recently surveyed by a series of submarine video observations that show that both the thalweg and the walls are covered by ubiquitous apron of silty clay. Evidence for downslope sediment mass movement was encountered only in places. Earlier studies show that the silty clay is of Nilotic origin. Since the northern Levant margin has not been a part of the Nile sedimentary cell since the Pleistocene, the widespread Nilotic sediments indicate that the Quaternary sedimentary processes in the area differ considerably from the Neogene depositional regime.  相似文献

A high resolution seismic survey was carried out on the continental slope of Israel, NW of Caesarea. The area was studied in order to map the tectonic elements of the Dor structure, and to extrapolate and suggest a structural model of the tectonics of the continental slope of the SE Mediterranean since the Late Miocene. It was found that the continental slope was affected by two faulting systems—NW trending strike-slip faults and NNE trending normal faults. Faults of both systems are associated with numerous slumps along the slope. However, the NW trending faults belong to a faulting system of similar trend that abounds in the adjacent continent and extends northwestwards across the continental shelf and slope to the continental rise. The NNE trending faults form the shelf-edge faulting system that was associated with the subsidence of the eastern Mediterranean basin since the Pliocene. Thus the continental slope is not only a morphological transition zone but also a tectonic one, showing the influence of both the continental and the oceanic structural regimes in the SE Mediterranean region.  相似文献

The climatic conditions of arid regions are characterized by high temperatures, low precipitation and high evapotranspiration rates that can explain the reduced recharge of aquifers. Thus, in these regions, there are some problems related to the groundwater quality and recharge that makes worse the problem of groundwater supply. A model, taking into account ternary mixtures, is presented and applied to a case study: the aquifer of San Luis Potosi valley located in the highlands of the central part of Mexico. In this valley, four hydrochemical facies were identified that correspond to the Ca–Na + K–HCO3, Na + K–Ca–HCO3, Ca–HCO3 and Ca–SO4 types. From this characterization, it was found out that the recharge area (known as Bledos Graben) is located at the SE of the valley; the deep water flow comes from there (Villa de Reyes and Alvarez Range) to the center of the valley. Mixture fractions were obtained by using chlorides and fluorides as conservative elements, from which it was possible to quantify the contribution of each member to the groundwater quality. According to these results, the contributions to the water extracted from this aquifer are as follows: shallow flows 50%, deep flows from Villa de Reyes 27%, and flows coming from the Alvarez Ranges about 15%.  相似文献

Summary We present a preliminary evaluation of the performance of three different cumulus parameterization schemes in the ICTP Regional Climate Model RegCM3 for two overlapping domains (termed “big” and “small”) and horizontal resolutions (50 and 25 km) in the Caribbean area during the summer (July–August–September). The cumulus parameterizations were the Grell scheme with two closure assumptions (Arakawa–Schubert and Fritsch–Chappell) and the Anthes-Kuo scheme. An additional sensitivity test was performed by comparing two different flux parameterization schemes over the ocean (Zeng and BATS). There is a systematic underestimation of air temperature and precipitation when compared with analyzed data over the big domain area. Greater (∼2 °C) and smaller (∼0.9 °C) negative temperature biases are obtained in Grell–FC and Kuo convective scheme, respectively, and intermediate values are obtained in Grell–AS. The small domain simulation produces results substantially different, both for air temperature and precipitation. Temperature estimations are better for the small domain, while the precipitation estimations are better for the big domain. An additional experiment showed that by using BATS to calculate the ocean fluxes in the big domain instead of the Zeng scheme, precipitation increases by 25% and the share of convective precipitation rose from 18% to 45% of the total, which implies a better simulation of precipitation. These changes were attributed to an increase of near surface latent heating when using BATS over the ocean. The use of BATS also reduces the cold bias by about 0.3–0.4 °C, associated with an increase of minimum temperature. The behavior of the precipitation diurnal cycle and its relation with sea breeze was investigated in the small domain experiments. Results showed that the Grell–Arakawa–Schubert closure describes better this circulation as compared with Grell–Fritsch–Chappell closure.  相似文献

Carbon and financial accounting of projects in the Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry sector is a topic of hot debate. Large uncertainty remains concerning the carbon dynamics, the way they should be accounted and the cost efficiency of the projects. Part of the uncertainty can be alleviated by standardisation and transparency of reporting methods. For this reason we further developed CO2FIX, a forest ecosystem carbon model, with modules for carbon and financial accounting. The model is applied to four cases: 1) Joint implementation afforestation project in Romania, 2) Forest management project in Central Europe, 3) Reduced impact logging possibly under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in the future, and 4) Afforestation with native species under the Clean Development Mechanism. The results show the wide applicability of CO2FIX, from degrading grasslands as baseline cases to multiple cohort forest ecosystems. Also the results show that Forest Management in the European case can generate considerable amounts of carbon emission reductions. Further, the results show that although reduced impact logging is not yet an allowed option under the Clean Development Mechanism, it shows promising results in that it is 1) very cost effective, 2) seems to be able to generate intermediate amounts of credits and 3) seems to us as a project type that is not prone to leakage issues. These results are yet another indication to seriously consider reduced impact logging as an eligible measure under the CDM.  相似文献
