The upper part of the Limestone Coal Group (Pendleian E1), between the major marine transgressions of the Black Metals and the Index Limestone, represents an early example of ‘coal measures’ facies. It comprises a distal and a proximal facies association. The distal facies association, which was subject to relatively strong marine influences and included both deltaic and fluvial elements, is characterized by a regular ‘layer-cake’ succession with laterally-persistent lithological members. By contrast, the proximal association, which was more subject to fluvial influences and is typified by the variable Bannockburn Main Complex, is characterized by abrupt lateral changes in lithofacies. The distal facies association is dominant in the west of the Kilsyth Trough, but proximal facies intercalations increase eastwards, so that they constitute a fairly high proportion of the succession in the Kincardine Basin, particularly in areas of locally-increased tectonic subsidence that were frequently occupied by major channel belts. Some of the sheet sandstones within the distal association have a lower, upward-coarsening portion succeeded by a coarser-grained, erosive-based, upward-fining portion. The resulting ‘two-storey’ profile may reflect deltaic sand bodies having been suceeded by fluvial sand bodies, following a general fall in base level. Linear regression lines showing the relationship between the number of horizons colonized by vegetation and net subsidence, suggest that local autocyclic, tectonosedimentary processes, such as delta switching, channel migration, and avulsion, were superimposed upon a widespread allocyclic, probably glacial-eustatic, process. The former processes were most effective within the proximal facies association and in the Kincardine Basin and the latter in the distal association and the Kilsyth Trough. 相似文献
The Central Africa Fold Belt (CAFB) is a collision belt endowed with gold deposits in Eastern Cameroon area mined for about 50 years. However, favorable areas for gold exploration are poorly known. This paper presents (1) the kinematics of the brittle deformation in the Kékem area in the SW portion of the Central Cameroon Shear Zone and (2) constraints gold mineralization events with respect to the collisional evolution of the CAFB. The authors interpret that the conjugate ENE to E and NNW to NW trending lineament corresponds to the synthetic (R) and the antithetic (R’) shears, which accompanied the dextral slip along the NE to ENE striking shear. The latter coincides with the last 570–552 Ma D3 dextral simple shear-dominated transpression, which is parallel to the Bétaré Oya shear zone hosting gold deposits. Gold mineralizations, which mainly occurred during the last dextral shearing, are disseminated within quartz veins associated to Riedel’s previous structures reactivated due to late collisional activities of the CAFB as brittle deformation. Gold mineralizations occurred mainly during the 570–552 Ma D3 event. The reactivation, which might be due to dextral simple shear during mylonitzation, plausibly remobilized the early gold deposits hosted in syn-compressional rocks and/or possibly focused deep-sourced fluid mixed with those released by dehydration. Therefore, the Central Cameroon Shear Zone where Kékem is located, and which shows similar petrographical and structural features to those controling Batouri gold district, is a target area for gold exploration in Cameroon. 相似文献
We consider current problems connected with the evolution of central dominant (cD) galaxies in clusters. In the second part of this series, internal properties of the cD galaxy — in particular its radio structure — are related to the appropriate ones of the cluster. The observations point to an earlier jet ejection along the major axis of the galaxy and a following change of the jet axis. From the existence of “hot-spot” like regions in different directions it is suggested that the radio engine would have to be intermittent with a relatively short period. Alternatively to the intermittent ejection scenario, the radio morphology of 4C 26.42 can be explained in the frame of the “standard” beam or jet model. The radio structure of 4C 26.42 being an inversion-symmetric configuration, which is probably due to galactic cannibalism, could be interpreted as a transition at the inner hot spots (at about 1 kpc) from supersonic, stable Fanaroff-Riley type II jets to subsonic, unstable FR I type structures (“plumes”). A quantitative investigation of the two scenarios for jet interaction with the surroudning interstellar/intercluster medium in 4C 26.42 gives parameter values in reasonable agreement with the ones discussed in the literature for related objects. 相似文献
We investigate current problems connected with the formation of cD galaxies. The subject of the present paper is to compare internal properties of the cD galaxy Zw162010 with cluster properties of Abell 1795. This consideration is a first attempt to find commonly valid essential correlations between peculiarities of brightest cluster members as structures and active phenomena and global cluster properties as for instance galaxy populations and concentration degrees. The colours, the X-ray emission, and the velocity of the cD galaxy are used to discuss the obvious influence of the environment on the evolution of the active nucleus. In a second paper (Kirchner et al. 1992) the radio structure is used to investigate the influence of the surrounding cluster medium onto the development of the active nucleus. Furtheron, various jet ejection scenarios will be quantitatively examined. 相似文献
At the present time, there is no generally accepted classification of the solar wind flows. There are various approaches to this problem depending on the goal of the study. In our paper, we propose the binary classification of the solar wind types by the main hydrodynamic parameters (velocity, temperature, and density) based on the statistical analysis of the solar wind. The analysis of the OMNIWeb one-minute data is performed for the period from 1996 to 2017, which encompasses solar cycle 23 and current solar cycle 24. Eight types of the solar wind are distinguished: fast-hot-dense, fast-hot-rarefied, fast-cold-dense, fast-cold-rarefied, slow-hot-dense, slow-hot-rarefied, slow-cold-dense, slow-cold-rarefied. These types occur with different frequency and are the consequences of different manifestations of solar activity. Of particular interest are the solar wind flows, the parameters of which deviate from the averages most significantly.
