The available petrochemical data indicate that volcanic rocks in the Sanshui basin of Guangdong Prov-ince are characteristic of the island-arc tholeiite-calc-alkaline series.Their K-Ar ages range from 43 to 64 Ma,corresponding to Early Tertiary.The Nd-Sr-Pb isotopic correlations give two binary mixing trends,indicating a mixed source of Leiqiong depleted mantle,seawater and altered sediments pertaining to subduction.Our studies have confirmed the existence of an ancient subduction zone beneath the South Chi-na continent,which is considered to have resulted from the suturing of various terrains in southern China. 相似文献

Tidal strains of the earth were extracted from three horizontal strainmeter records (1979–1986) in the Friuli seismic area by the “filter method”. The areal strain factor, ignoring the tidal loading effects, shows that its time variation is significant: their amplitudes in 1986 are about 50% of those in 1979.
The modifications of mechanical properties, estimated in terms of the local shear and bulk modulus variations, were obtained considering the envelope of the tidal strain signals. The seismic wave velocity determined by the simultaneous inversion of the arrival time data of the local seismometric network displayed comparable changes.
A major change both in the seismic velocities and the elastic parameters started in March 1982, which was about 11 months before an earthquake of magnitude 4.1, the largest event from 1979 to 1986, which occurred within the seismic network on Feb. 10, 1983. 相似文献

Six kinds of element association in the gold deposits in the studied region are distinguished: (1) tungsten-antimony-gold; (2) tungsten-gold; (3) antimonygold; (4) lead-zinc-silver-gold; (5) uranium-silver-gold; and (6) simple gold. The present paper deals with the distribution, source, mineralization, migration and accumulation of gold. The results show that all ore-controlling strata or source beds related to the gold deposits have high background levels of gold; the gold and other ore-forming elements associated are obviously derived from the country rocks. The mineralization of gold is related chiefly to regional metamorphism or alkali-metasomatism. In response to metamorphism of ore-controlling strata, gold was removed into solutions, and then transported and deposited in some parts of the ore-controlling strata. The main form of gold carried in the solutions was Na[Au(HS)2]. A numerical solution, using the finite difference method, and based on a porothermo-elasto-plastic formulation for dual-porosity one-dimensional consolidation has been presented. The model is fully coupled to ensure the interactive behavior of fluid flow, heat flow and solid deformations in the conservation of momentum, mass and energy equations. A bi-linear stress-strain relationship is used to accommodate elastoplastic deformation behavior. A double effective stress law, proposed by Elsworth and Bai (1992), is applied to describe constitutive relationships among the stresses, pressures and temperatures. In order to examine the dual-porosity and thermal effects on the soil consolidation individually, isothermal and non-isothermal consolidations for a dual-porosity column are analyzed. In comparison to the single porosity approach, the present study shows that the pore pressure dissipation is faster and Mandel's effect (Mandel, 1953) is more pronounced at early times of the source disturbance for dual-porosity consolidation. One of the significant parameters affecting the dual-porosity consolidation is the fracture spacing (fracture density); the smaller the fracture spacing, the faster the column drainage. 相似文献

Summertime Characteristics of the Atmospheric Boundary Layer and Relationships to Ozone Levels over the Eastern United States 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
— This paper examines the spatial and temporal distributions of the mixing height, ventilation coefficient (defined as the product of mixing height and surface wind speed), and cloud cover over the eastern United States during the summer of 1995, using the high-resolution meteorological data generated by MM5 (Version 1), a mesoscale model widely used in air quality studies. The ability of MM5 to simulate the key temporal and spatial features embedded in the time series of observations of temperature, wind speed, and moisture is assessed using spectral decomposition methods. Also, mixing heights estimated from the MM5 outputs are compared with those derived from observations at a few locations where data with high temporal resolution are available in the Northeast. In addition, the uncertainties associated with the estimation of the evolution of the boundary layer during the morning time are examined. The results indicate that nighttime mixing heights averaged <200?m, rising to 1 km by 10 EST, and to about 2.5?km in the afternoon. Ventilation coefficients followed a similar diurnal pattern, increasing from 500?m2/s at night?to 15,000?m2/s in the afternoon; the increase due to the growing mixing height and increasing surface wind speeds. Spatial variability of these parameters was relatively small (coefficient of variation=0.25) at?night and in the afternoon when conditions were quasi-stationary, but increased (to 0.5) during morning?and evening hours when mixing heights and wind speeds were changing rapidly. Analyses of surface ozone observations from about 400 sites throughout the eastern United States indicate that days with numerous stations reporting surface ozone concentrations in excess of 80 ppb (i.e., “high ozone” days) generally had less daytime cloud cover, lower surface wind speeds, higher mixing heights, and lower ventilation coefficients than did comparable “low ozone” days. Such meteorological features are consistent with a synoptic anticyclone centered over the mid-south region (Kentucky, Tennessee). Low ozone days were characterized by more disturbed weather conditions (low pressure systems, fronts, greater cloud cover, and precipitation events). Ozone observations at two elevated platforms (~400?m agl) in Garner, NC, and Chicago, IL, indicated that ozone concentrations aloft were about 40% larger on “high ozone” days than on “low ozone” days. On average, high levels of ozone persist aloft for about 2 to 3 days. Strong vertical mixing in the daytime can bring this pool of upper-level ozone downward to augment surface ozone production. Since ozone can be transported downwind several hundred kilometers from its source region over this time scale, depending on upper-level winds, effective ozone control strategies must take into consideration spatial scales ranging from local to regional, and time scales of the order of several days. 相似文献

— To examine the spatial scales associated with atmospheric pollutants such as ozone (O3) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5), we employ the following five techniques: (1) Analysis of the persistence of high O3 concentrations aloft; (2) spatial and lag correlations between the short-term components (i.e., weather-induced variations) in the time series of O3 and PM2.5 throughout the eastern United States; (3) analysis of mixed-layer forward trajectories compiled at different locations on a climatological basis to identify the potential region covered in 1-day of atmospheric transport; (4) analysis of three-dimensional Lagrangian trajectories of tracer particles for three high-O3 episode events in the summer of 1995; and (5) analysis of the spatial extent over which emissions have an impact through photochemical model simulations. Regardless of the method chosen, the results demonstrate that pollutants such as O3 and PM2.5 have the potential to affect regions having spatial scales of several hundred kilometers. This finding has implications to regulatory policies for addressing the pollution problem, and for optimally designing monitoring networks for such pollutants. 相似文献
