Coastal zone assumes importance due to high productivity of ecosystems, man-made developmental activities, natural hazards and dynamic nature of the coast. As costal ecosystems are unique and fragile, understanding the impact of developmental activities on the sustainability of the coastal zone is very important. Remote sensing, because of repetitive and synoptic nature is an ideal tool for studying this. Time series data analyses for monitoring coastal zone require different type of sensors. Present study deals with atmospheric correction of satellite data, reflectance, selection of coastal features like, mudflat, mangroves, vegetated dune, coastal water, etc. and their inter-comparison using different sensor data of RESOURCESAT sensors. Reflectance values give better separateability for various coastal features in comparison to DN values. LISS IV can be used in place of LISS III or merged (LISS III + PAN) for long-term coastal zone studies. 相似文献

High-dimensional image data open new possibilities in remote sensing digital image classification, particularly when dealing with classes that are spectrally very similar. The main problem refers to the estimation of a large number of classifier's parameters. One possible solution to this problem consists in reducing the dimensionality of the original data without a significant loss of information. In this letter, a new approach to reduce data dimensionality is proposed. In the proposed methodology, each pixel's curve of spectral response is initially segmented, and the digital numbers (DNs) at each segment are replaced by a smaller number of statistics. In this letter, the proposed statistics are the mean and variance of the segment's DNs, which are supposed to carry information about the segment's position and shape, respectively. Tests were performed by using Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer hyperspectral image data. In the proposed approach, the well-known enhanced Lee filter is modified to allow the integration of feature outlines-previously extracted from segmented optical images. The filter is applied to several ENVISAT ASAR images that cover urban, agricultural, and forest areas during different plant phenological stages. The performance of this segment-based speckle filter is compared to those of other filters using ratio images, visual interpretation, and statistical indexes. Deep-water acoustical measurements of rainfall are compared to high-resolution ground radar observations for the first time. The measurements of underwater ambient sound were made from a subsurface mooring near Methoni, Greece, in 2004. The acoustical measurements were at 60-, 200-, 1000-, and 2000-m depths. Simultaneous ground-based polarimetric -band radar observations were made over the acoustic mooring. Comparisons show acoustic detection of rain events and storm structure that are in agreement with the radar observations. Results from a comparison between the underwater sound pressure level at different depths and the observed radar reflectivities are presented. 相似文献

Bistatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an extension of traditional monostatic SAR, which increases the flexibility in designing SAR missions. We describe a scheme for the computation of integration time and azimuth coverage of bistatic SARs based on space-time diagrams. Propagation delay due to variable tropospheric water vapor (WV) is one of the most intractable problems for radar interferometry, particularly over mountains. The WV field can be simulated by an atmospheric model, and the difference between the two fields is used to correct the radar interferogram. Here, we report our use of the U.K. Met Office Unified Model in a nested mode to produce high-resolution forecast fields for the 3-km-high Mount Etna volcano. The simulated precipitable-water field is validated against that retrieved from the Medium-Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) radiometer on the Envisat satellite, which has a resolution of 300 m. Two case studies, one from winter (November 24, 2004) and one from summer (June 25, 2005), show that the mismatch between the model and the MERIS fields ( rms = 1.1 and 1.6 mm, respectively) is small. One of the main potential sources of error in the models is the timing of the WV field simulation. We show that long-wavelength upper tropospheric troughs of low WV could be identified in both the model output and Meteosat WV imagery for the November 24, 2004 case and used to choose the best time of model output. 相似文献

Three transformation models (Bursa-Wolf, Molodensky, and WTUSM) are generally used between two data systems transformation. The linear models are used when the rotation angles are small; however, when the rotation angles get bigger, model errors will be produced. In this paper, we present a method with three main terms: ① the traditional rotation angles θ , φ ,ψ are substituted with a , b, c which are three re-spective values in the anti-symmetrical or Lodrigues matrix; ② directly and accurately calculating the formula of seven parameters in any value of rotation angles; and ③ a corresponding adjustment model is established. This method does not use the triangle function. Instead it uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and the complexity of the equation is reduced, making the calculation easy and quick. 相似文献

When SINS (strap-down inertial navigation system) is combined with GPS, the observability of the course angle is weak. Although the course angle error is improved to some extent through Kalman filtering, the course angle still assumes a divergent trend. This trend is aggravated further when using low-cost and low-accuracy SINS. In order to restrain this trend, a method that uses AHRS to substitute for SINS course angle information is put forward aimed at the hardware component characteristic of the low-cost and low-accuracy SINS including AHRS (attitude and heading reference system) and IMU (inertial measurement unit). Real static and dynamic experiments show that the method can restrain the divergent trend of the navigation system angle effectively, and the positioning accuracy is high. 相似文献
