Lahar deposits occur within a shallow marine sedimentary succession of the Pliocene La Cueva Formation in the Coastal Cordillera of central Chile (33°40′–34°15′S). Provenance studies of the abundant volcanic material in the lahar deposits suggest that they derive from denudation by mass wasting of Oligocene–Miocene volcanic rocks on the western slopes of the Main Andean Cordillera at the same latitude. Pliocene rock debris deposits preserved in the region of El Teniente (34°S) and scattered along the westernmost part of the Andes of central Chile indicate catastrophic erosive events related to the rapid uplift of the cordilleran block. This rock debris was deposited by avalanches and transformed further downslope into lahars by dilution with stream water. Lahars were channeled along the ancient drainage system that reached a shallow Pliocene sea at the site of the present Coastal Cordillera. The exceedingly rapid exhumation of active porphyry systems during the Early Pliocene in this part of the Andes may have played a role in affecting hydrothermal processes, brecciation, and diatreme formation at the porphyry systems of El Teniente and Río Blanco–Los Bronces.  相似文献

LiDAR data are becoming increasingly available, which has opened up many new applications. One such application is crop type mapping. Accurate crop type maps are critical for monitoring water use, estimating harvests and in precision agriculture. The traditional approach to obtaining maps of cultivated fields is by manually digitizing the fields from satellite or aerial imagery and then assigning crop type labels to each field - often informed by data collected during ground and aerial surveys. However, manual digitizing and labeling is time-consuming, expensive and subject to human error. Automated remote sensing methods is a cost-effective alternative, with machine learning gaining popularity for classifying crop types. This study evaluated the use of LiDAR data, Sentinel-2 imagery, aerial imagery and machine learning for differentiating five crop types in an intensively cultivated area. Different combinations of the three datasets were evaluated along with ten machine learning. The classification results were interpreted by comparing overall accuracies, kappa, standard deviation and f-score. It was found that LiDAR data successfully differentiated between different crop types, with XGBoost providing the highest overall accuracy of 87.8%. Furthermore, the crop type maps produced using the LiDAR data were in general agreement with those obtained by using Sentinel-2 data, with LiDAR obtaining a mean overall accuracy of 84.3% and Sentinel-2 a mean overall accuracy of 83.6%. However, the combination of all three datasets proved to be the most effective at differentiating between the crop types, with RF providing the highest overall accuracy of 94.4%. These findings provide a foundation for selecting the appropriate combination of remotely sensed data sources and machine learning algorithms for operational crop type mapping.  相似文献

Incontrovertible evidence is presented that the force-free magnetic fields exhibit strong stochastic behavior. Arnold's solution is given with the associated first integral of energy. A subset of the solution is shown to be non-ergodic whereas the full solution is shown to be ergodic. The first integral of energy is applied to the study of these fields to prove that the equilibrium points of such magnetic configurations are saddle points. Finally, the potential function of the first integral of energy is shown to be a member of the Helmholtz family of solutions. Numerical results corroborate the theoretical conclusions and demonstrate the robustness of the energy integral, which remains constant for arbitrarily long computing times.  相似文献

New drill core data are provided which support earlier interpretations that the Kalkkop structure, a 600–630 m wide, near-circular feature south-southwest of Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, is a meteorite impact crater. Shock metamorphosed clasts in suevitic crater fill and Re---Os isotope data of this breccia indicate the presence of a minor (0.05%) meteoritic component in the suevite. The new data come from a 1992 borehole, which transected the complete crater fill and extended from about 160 to 380 m depth into the sedimentary basement belonging to the Koonap Formation of the Beaufort Group (Karoo Supergroup). Dyke breccias were found in the otherwise coherent Beaufort Group sediments forming the floor to the Kalkkop Crater. Mostly narrow zones of different breccia types, including injections of lithic impact breccia, a possible pseudotachylite veinlet and cataclasite occur predominantly in an approximately 65 m wide zone below the crater floor, with a few other cataclasite occurrences found lower down in the basement. Stratigraphical crater constraints provide information for the depth-diameter scaling and breccia volumes associated with such small, bowl-shaped impact craters formed in sedimentary targets.U---Th series dating of limestone samples from near the top and the bottom of the crater sediment fill constraints the age of the Kalkkop impact event to about 250 ± 50 ka, similar to the age of the Pretoria Saltpan impact crater, also located in South Africa. The variety of different breccia types (polymict and monomict impact breccias; local formations of pseudotachylitic and cataclastic breccias) observed in the crater fill of the Kalkkop Crater indicates the need to carefully distinguish different breccia types in order to assess the respective importance of each formation.  相似文献

A numerical model of axisymmetric convection in the presence of a vertical magnetic flux bundle and rotation about the axis is presented. The model contains a compressible plasma described by the non-linear MHD equations, with density and temperature gradients simulating the upper layer of the Sun's convection zone. The solutions exhibit a central magnetic flux tube in a cylindrical numerical domain, with convection cells forming collar flows around the tube. When the numerical domain is rotated with a constant angular velocity, the plasma forms a Rankine vortex, with the plasma rotating as a rigid body where the magnetic field is strong, as in the flux tube, while experiencing sheared azimuthal flow in the surrounding convection cells, forming a free vortex. As a result, the azimuthal velocity component has its maximum value close to the outer edge of the flux tube. The azimuthal flow inside the magnetic flux tube and the vortex flow is prograde relative to the rotating cylindrical reference frame. A retrograde flow appears at the outer wall. The most significant convection cell outside the flux tube is the location for the maximum value of the azimuthal magnetic field component. The azimuthal flow and magnetic structure are not generated spontaneously, but decay exponentially in the absence of any imposed rotation of the cylindrical domain.  相似文献
