Modelling Spatial Variability Along Drainage Networks with Geostatistics   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Local characteristics of drainage networks such as cross-section geometry and hydraulic roughness coefficient, influence surface water transfers and must be taken into account when assessing the impact of human activities on hydrological risks. However, as these characteristics have not been available till now through remote sensing or hydrological modelling, the only available methods are interpolation or simulation based on scarce data. In this paper we propose a statistical model based on geostatistics that allows us to take account of both the spatial distribution and spatial uncertainties. To do this, we modify the geostatistical framework to suit directed tree supports corresponding to drainage network structures. The stationarity concept is specified assuming conditional independence between parts of the network; variogram fitting and modelling are then modified accordingly. A sequential multi Gaussian simulation procedure going upstream along the network is proposed. We illustrate this approach by studying the width of an 11-km long artificial drainage network in the south of France.  相似文献

The Pongkor gold-silver epithermal deposit with reserves of at least 98 tonnes of gold and 1026 tonnes of silver, average grades 16.4 g/t Au and 171.2 g/t Ag is one of the most recent and largest gold and silver discoveries in Indonesia, proven within a short period (1988–1991). 40Ar/39Ar dating on adularia samples give an age of 2.05 ± 0.05 Ma. The deposit is of the low-sulfidation epithermal type and consists of four main mineralized quartz veins located close to the internal rim of a volcano-tectonic depression (caldera). This resulted from an explosive ignimbritic eruption that produced pyroclastic flows and accretionary lapilli with rare intercalations of epiclastic rocks. This volcanic unit unconformably overlies Miocene subaqueous volcanic andesitic rocks with interbedded epiclastic rocks. The mineralized bodies are thick (average 4.2 m), steeply dipping, quartz-carbonate-adularia veins with a very low sulfide content (<0.5 wt.%). Their genesis is related to an extensional episode within a tectonic corridor showing NW-SE and NNE-SSW conjugate strike-slip faults, the major vein being located on the inner rim of the caldera. The vein fill reveals four successive stages of deposition marked by a specific facies: (1) carbonate-quartz breccia with dominant quartz and calcite and minor kutnahorite, rhodochrosite, and rhodonite (CQ facies), (2) a network of banded quartz and former carbonate transformed into manganese oxides through supergene alteration (MOQ facies), (3) banded opaline milky quartz (BOQ facies), and (4) grey, locally banded, sulfide-rich quartz breccia cutting all the other types (GSQ facies). Adularia was deposited at the same time as the quartz. The mineralogy and internal structures of the veins (crustiform banding, vugs, collapse breccia) clearly indicate a dilational context, which is common in low-sulfidation epithermal systems. Gold and silver grades, as well as sulfide mineral abundances, increase steadily through stages 1 to 4, locally reaching 1 kg/t in the GSQ facies. The sulfides are dominated by pyrite, accompanied by common acanthite-aguilarite, polybasite-pearceite and electrum in which the gold content ranges from 48 to 74 wt.%. Sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite and hessite are fairly rare, although present within the CQ facies. The fluid inclusions of the four facies show homogenization temperatures ranging from 150 to 382 °C, indicating boiling of a hydrothermal fluid with an initial temperature of around 205 °C; no marked difference is seen in the GSQ facies, which has the highest gold content. Salinities are low, generally below 1 wt.% eq. NaCl. Lead isotope compositions of the associated volcanic rocks and the mineralization are very similar, 206Pb/204Pb between 18.706 and 18.814␣and between 18.744 and 18.801 respectively, demonstrating a genetic link between the Pliocene volcanism and the auriferous hydrothermal activity. The isotopic signature suggests that the source of the mineralization and associated volcanic rocks is an underlying ancient continental crust that melted and remobilized during the Pliocene volcanic and hydrothermal events. These conclusions seem applicable to the entire Bayah Dome. The existence of both a tectonic corridor and a caldera favoured channelling of the hydrothermal fluids and the deposition of primary ore in the veins. Late intense weathering of the ore deposit, to depths of 250 m below the surface, has given rise to manganese oxide layers, limonite zones, and silver micronuggets within the veins, as well as to gold enrichment. 大别造山带北缘晚中生代富钾火山岩分布在磨子潭-晓天断裂以北的上叠式火山盆地中,主要为一套以钾玄岩-粗安岩-安粗岩-粗面岩为主体的中偏碱性岩石组合,晚期出现少量碱性火山岩。化学成分上具有富碱、富钾、贫钛、氧化系数较高等特点。岩石的Rb、Ba、Th、Pb等大离子亲石元素含量高,富轻稀土,La/Nb、Ba/Nb及LREE/HREE比值高,并且有显著的Nb、Ti负异常和Pb正异常,而铕异常则不明显。富钾火山岩的Isr值较高(=0.70872-0.70895),εNd(t)值显著偏低(=-14.62--18.51)。根据对岩石产出动力地质背景及地球化学特征的综合分析,结合同位素组成的混合模拟,表明本区富钾火山岩最可能起源于受俯冲陆壳析出流体交代作用所形成的富集地幔(EM I)的部分熔融。  相似文献

Variance-based global sensitivity analysis (GSA) is used to study how the variance of the output of a model can be apportioned to different sources of uncertainty in its inputs. GSA is an essential component of model building as it helps to identify model inputs that account for most of the model output variance. However, this approach is seldom applied to spatial models because it cannot describe how uncertainty propagation interacts with another key issue in spatial modeling: the issue of model upscaling, that is, a change of spatial support of model output. In many environmental models, the end user is interested in the spatial average or the sum of the model output over a given spatial unit (for example, the average porosity of a geological block). Under a change of spatial support, the relative contribution of uncertain model inputs to the variance of aggregated model output may change. We propose a simple formalism to discuss this issue within a GSA framework by defining point and block sensitivity indices. We show that the relative contribution of an uncertain spatially distributed model input increases with its correlation length and decreases with the size of the spatial unit considered for model output aggregation. The results are briefly illustrated by a simple example.  相似文献

The epithermal Shila-Paula Au–Ag district is characterized by numerous veins hosted in Tertiary volcanic rocks of the Western Cordillera (southern Peru). Field studies of the ore bodies reveal a systematic association of a main E–W vein with secondary N55–60°W veins—two directions that are also reflected by the orientation of fluid-inclusion planes in quartz crystals of the host rock. In areas where this pattern is not recognized, such as the Apacheta sector, vein emplacement seems to have been guided by regional N40°E and N40°W fractures. Two main vein-filling stages are identified. stage 1 is a quartz–adularia–pyrite–galena–sphalerite–chalcopyrite–electrum–Mn silicate–carbonate assemblage that fills the main E–W veins. stage 2, which contains most of the precious-metal mineralization, is divided into pre-bonanza and bonanza substages. The pre-bonanza substage consists of a quartz–adularia–carbonate assemblage that is observed within the secondary N45–60°W veins, in veinlets that cut the stage 1 assemblage, and in final open-space fillings. The two latter structures are finally filled by the bonanza substage characterized by a Fe-poor sphalerite–chalcopyrite–pyrite–galena–tennantite–tetrahedrite–polybasite–pearceite–electrum assemblage. The ore in the main veins is systematically brecciated, whereas the ore in the secondary veins and geodes is characteristic of open-space crystallization. Microthermometric measurements on sphalerite from both stages and on quartz and calcite from stage 2 indicate a salinity range of 0 to 15.5 wt% NaCl equivalent and homogenization temperatures bracketed between 200 and 330°C. Secondary CO2-, N2- and H2S-bearing fluid inclusions are also identified. The age of vein emplacement, based on 40Ar/39Ar ages obtained on adularia of different veins, is estimated at around 11 Ma, with some overlap between adularia of stage 1 (11.4±0.4 Ma) and of stage 2 (10.8±0.3 Ma). A three-phase tectonic model has been constructed to explain the vein formation. Phase 1 corresponds to the assumed development of E–W sinistral shear zones and associated N60°W cleavages under the effects of a NE–SW shortening direction that is recognized at Andean scale. These structures contain the stage 1 ore assemblage that was brecciated during ongoing deformation. Phase 2 is a reactivation of earlier structures under a NW–SE shortening direction that allowed the reopening of the preexisting schistosity and the formation of scarce N50°E-striking S2-cleavage planes filled by the stage 2 pre-bonanza minerals. Phase 3 coincides with the bonanza ore emplacement in the secondary N45–60°W veins and also in open-space in the core of the main E–W veins. Our combined tectonic, textural, mineralogical, fluid-inclusion, and geochronological study presents a complete model of vein formation in which the reactivation of previously formed tectonic structures plays a significant role in ore formation.  相似文献

龙镇地区花岗岩位于大、小兴安岭的结合部,属于兴安地块与松嫩地块中的A-I型花岗岩带;该区各岩体岩石类型基本相同,主要为花岗闪长岩和二长花岗岩,地球化学特征显示为高钾钙碱性系列的I型花岗岩。花岗岩中锆石的LA-ICP-MSU-Pb年代学分析结果表明,正达山岩体形成于320~315Ma,模拉布山岩体形成于169±3Ma,朝阳林场岩体形成于187~171Ma。这些花岗质岩浆的就位分别与古生代时期古亚洲洋闭合过程中的块体拼合作用及中生代古太平洋的构造演化有关。Hf同位素成分特征表明,两期花岗岩的源岩均为新元古代-显生宙期间亏损地幔来源的火成岩。结合已发表的Sr-Nd-Hf同位素资料,本文认为兴安地块大陆地壳增生的时间主要为新元古代-显生宙,这与松嫩地块一致,而明显晚于额尔古纳地块的地壳增生时间(中-新元古代),从而揭示了它们不同的地壳演化历史。  相似文献

The natural deformation of stibnite in relation to the kinematic history of a regional fault is resolved using microstructural analysis of massive stibnite along the Biards Fault in the Massif Central (France). Stibnite underwent intra-crystalline deformation associated with a strong linear and planar anisotropy. Lepidoblastic textures, undulatory extinction of oriented grains, growth of antimony between these grains, and a colour change of stibnite from white to black, result from dynamic recrystallisation. A range of asymmetric microstructures indicate non-coaxial deformation and a left-lateral sense of shear, related to the movement of the fault zone. The computed displacement corresponds to the geological offsets measured along the fault. We conclude that stibnite has microstructurally recorded the bulk kinematics of its host fault zone.Editorial Handling: F. Tornos  相似文献

This article describes the formation of the principal French high-purity silica placer (source for electrometallurgy of silicon and ferrosilicon), the Boudeau deposit in Dordogne, and of one of its subordinate deposits, the Pays Brûlé deposit. Boudeau has always been considered to be a colluvial deposit, formed in a trap produced by extensional tectonism. The present work suggests a new genetic interpretation, based on a combined study of the deposits and their underlying rocks. It shows that the quartz gravel deposits, laid down by stream flow within braided channels, were reworked by karstic progressive sinking, and that the mechanism responsible for the increase in the thickness of the economic formations is cryptokarstic corrosion. This undercovers weathering process, which involves dissolution of karstifiable rocks (oolitic and bioclastic limestones) at their interface with a permeable, non-karstifiable cover composed of chemically pure quartz gravels in a sandy-argillaceous matrix. A typological study of the gravels provides a basis for tackling the problem of their origin and their purity. They seem to be derived mainly from the synmetamorphic quartz mobilisates of the stripped metamorphic units (the lower and upper gneiss units forming the western edge of the Massif Central). Lastly, a dynamic model is suggested for the genesis of the high-purity silica deposits of Dordogne.  相似文献

In the present study an attempt has been made to estimate acreage and condition of tea plantations by using satellite based digital remotely sensed data in visible, near infra-red and middle infra-red spectral regions, in the Nilgiri district of Tamilnadu state. Landsat MSS and TM data, acquired on Dec. 26, 1990 were used in the analysis, Different spectral band combinations, Landsat MSS (1234), TM (1234), TM (2345) and TM (123457) were used for identification of tea plantations. District-boundary-overlaying approach with complete enumeration of digital data was used for estimation of tea acreages. Condition assessment of tea plantations is based on the Greenness Index. Use of Landsat MSS data resulted in an underestimation of area under tea whereas the acreages estimated by using TM spectral band combinations 1234 and 2345 compared closely with the estimates of Department of Horticulture (DOH). The distribution pattern of various condition classes of tea plantations compared well with the prevailing ground conditions as observed during post-classification field survey in September 1992 in the district.  相似文献
