Information on the distribution of subsurface temperature and hydraulic heads at 24 observation wells in and around the Tokyo
Lowland, the eastern part of the Tokyo Metropolitan area, were examined to make clear the relationship between groundwater
and the subsurface thermal environment in the urban area. Minimums in temperature–depth logs due to subsurface temperature
increasing at shallow parts were recognized in 21 wells. This fact shows subsurface temperature is affected by ground surface
warming in almost all of this area. Deeper than minimums, where the effects of surface warming became relatively small, regional
variation is observed as follows: high temperatures are shown in the central part to the southern part, and low temperatures
shown in the inland to eastern part. The high temperature area corresponds to an area where the lower boundary of groundwater
flow is relatively shallow. This area corresponds also to an area with severe land subsidence resulting from excessive groundwater
pumping. It is considered that this high temperature area is formed by the effects of upward groundwater flow affected by
hydrogeological conditions and pumping. On the other hand, a comparison between past data (1956–1967) and present data (2001–2003)
revealed widespread decreasing temperature in the inland area. This is explained by downward groundwater flow based on an
analysis of temperature–depth logs. This fact suggests that subsurface temperature is not only increasing from the effects
of surface warming but also decreasing from the effects of groundwater environment change due to pumping. 相似文献

Urbanization has become one of the domain processes for city development in Indonesia. The results of the extremely high densities of fast growing population have led to negative subsurface environmental impact. Jakarta, as one of the rapidly developed and urbanized cities in Southeast Asia, has become one of the interesting urbanization city to analyze its effects. In Jakarta, the use of groundwater has greatly accelerated conforming to the rise in its population and the development of the industrial sector, which consume a relatively large amount of water. The increase of groundwater exploitation in Jakarta city has already caused a negative impact on these resources. Therefore, an assessment of groundwater trends in the urban area, including their hazard and risk management, is a necessary action. This paper describes the assessment of urban groundwater loading caused by human concentration in Jakarta city. Subsurface heat contamination under the condition of surface warming shows significant effects of urban groundwater loading during the past century in Jakarta city. 相似文献

Groundwater recharge and discharge processes in the Jakarta groundwater basin, Indonesia 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Proper management of groundwater resources requires knowledge of the processes of recharge and discharge associated with a groundwater basin. Such processes have been identified in the Jakarta groundwater basin, Indonesia using a theory that describes the simultaneous transfer of heat and fluid in a porous medium. Temperature-depth profiles in monitoring wells are used to determine the geothermal gradient. To examine the rules of groundwater flow in the distortion of the isotherms in this area, several methods are compared. Subsurface temperature distribution is strongly affected by heat advection due to groundwater flow. Under natural flow conditions, the recharge area is assumed to occur in the hills and uplands, which are located on the periphery of the Jakarta basin, and the discharge area is located in the central and northern part of the Jakarta groundwater basin. A transition area, which could act as local recharge and discharge areas, occupies the middle of the lowland. Subsurface temperatures show good correlation with the groundwater flow conditions, and the data yield important information on the location of recharge and discharge areas. 相似文献

Combined X-ray powder diffraction, Mössbauer, and XANES spectroscopy in situ experiments revealed the transformation of cubic (Mg0.8Fe0.2)O ferropericlase to a rhombohedrally distorted phase at 35(1) GPa and room temperature. The Mössbauer spectroscopy results show that the rhombohedral distortion does not involve magnetic ordering. Combined with data from the literature, our results imply that the cubic to rhombodedral transition occurs in (Mg,Fe)O under conditions of non-hydrostatic stress over a wide range of composition (0.2≤x Fe≤1). 相似文献

Located at southern coast of China, the Pearl River Delta (PRD) is facing serious water problems in both quantity and quality after its rapid urbanization in the last decade. Most remarkably, the local groundwater, that was used to be the source of drinking water before the urbanization was polluted due to poor management of the septic tanks. In order to study the effects of suburban development on local groundwater flow and water quality in the PRD region, Fengcun of Guangzhou has been chosen as the study area. In Fengcun, drinking water was groundwater before the 1990s, but now piped reservoir water is used by each family because the groundwater has been polluted. This study clarifies the source and process of the groundwater pollution from septic tanks using isotopic and geochemical characteristics, especially nitrate (NO3?) concentrations. Water samples were collected from the wells and ponds in Fengcun in March and July 2005 and in July 2006. Based on the pe–pH diagram, NO3? and ammonium of groundwater are from the effect of human activities, rather than from nitrification and ammonification of N2. NO3? pollution of groundwater is from point sources, and NO3? concentrations decrease from northeast to southwest. Groundwater is polluted rapidly by the leakage of septic tanks. NO3? concentrations of pollution sources were lower than 20 mg l?1 in March 2005, but had increased to about 120 mg l?1 in July 2006. This implies that groundwater protection should be strengthened in rural areas of the PRD. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to trace the groundwater flow system in the Nagaoka area using subsurface temperature distribution, stable isotopes and water quality. Temperature-depth profiles were measured four times in observation wells during the period 2000–2002. Water was sampled from both observation and pumping wells during the same period. A combination of tracers was used to conceptualize the groundwater flow system. The flow system appears to be divided into shallow, intermediate and deep systems. It is clear that land use, pumping and the infiltration rate are affecting the shallow flow system. An erratum to this article can be found at 相似文献

A Nappe system south to southwest of the São Francisco Craton represents the southern extension of the Brasília belt and describes an inverted metamorphic pile of greenschist facies toward amphibolite facies. The Aiuruoca-Andrelândia nappe is one of the nappes of this system. The hind portion of the Aiuruoca-Andrelândia nappe, south of Caxambu and Aiuruoca (MG), consists of a structural-metamorphic domain transported toward the E-NE. There is a metamorphic transition, from the kyanite zone to kyanite and sillimanite coexistence, until the sillimanite zone. Metapelitic rocks preserve high-pressure parageneses (Rt–Ky–Grt–Ms–Bt–Pl–Qtz) and contain retrograde eclogitic rocks. Sil–Pl–Qtz coronitic intergrowths around garnets are common decompressive textures. Kyanite schists register the Pmax of 11 kbar at 660 °C and define a decompressive path until 6–7.5 kbar at 650 °C. These P–T conditions represent the equilibrium in S2 schistosity (amphibolite facies) and the beginning of the cooling path in the Ky–Sil transition. The decompressive path suggests an extrusional process, immediately after burying at about 60 km. Exhumation controlled by convergent events, related to the São Francisco Plate subduction and tectonic erosion, took these units, isothermally, to higher levels (20–33 km). Later, the metamorphic path shifted toward near-isobaric cooling. 相似文献
