High-resolution spectroscopy during the eclipse of EE Cep was obtained and presented for the first time. The star’s spectroscopic behaviour can be roughly interpreted as a partial eclipse of the high luminosity Be primary and its emitting gaseous ring by the semi-transparent gaseous envelope around an invisible, opaque secondary, most probably a dark disk. This paper is based on spectroscopic observations from Asiago (Italy), DDO (Canada), Rozhen (Bulgaria), SPM (Mexico), Terskol (Russia) and Torun (Poland) observatories.  相似文献

A new CCD (V) light curve is presented for'the semi-detached binary system FU Ara. The light curve, obtained in 2007, is the first one since the last 50 years. With our data we were able to determine six new times of minimum light and refined the period of the system to 0.8645049 days. A Wilson-Devinney analysis leads to a solution of a semi-detached configuration, composed of a main-sequence primary component of spectral type F5, fractionally smaller than its Roche lobe, and an evolved secondary component of spectral type K I which fills its Roche lobe, and which is overluminous and oversized as compared with the main-sequence. The two components of FU Ara differ considerably in effective temperature. It is classified as an FO Virginis type of near-contact binary system. Assuming a reasonable value for the mass of the primary component, an estimate of the absolute elements of FU Ara has been made, on the assumption that the primary has a mass corresponding to its spectral type according to Svechnikov & Taidakova.  相似文献

Multicolor photometric and polarimetric observations of the eclipsing binary EK Cep at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in 1995 and 2006–2007 are reported. Polarimetric observations were made of stars in the neighborhood of EK Cep. It is shown that the observed linear polarization of EK Cep is determined by a variable circumstellar constituent, as well as by the interstellar component. The multicolor photometric observations of the neglected eclipsing binary FT Ursae Majoris (FT UMa) were obtained in 2010. The 2003 version of the Wilson-Devinney code was used to analyze the light curves in the B, V and R bands simultaneously. Based on the spectroscopic mass ratio q = 0.984 published by Pribulla et al., it is found that FT UMa is an evolved contact binary with a contact degree of 15.3%. Three eclipsing binary systems with astrometric orbit have been studied. For a detailed analysis two circular‐orbit binaries (VW Cep and HT Vir) and one binary with an eccentric orbit (ζ Phe) have been chosen. Merging together astrometry and the analysis of the times of minima, one is able to describe the orbit of such a system completely. The O C diagrams and the astrometric orbits of the third bodies were analysed simultaneously for these three systems by the least‐squares method. The introduced algorithm is useful and powerful, but also time consuming, due to many parameters which one is trying to derive. The new orbits for the third bodies in these systems were found with periods 30, 221, and 261 yr, and eccentricities 0.63, 0.37, and 0.64 for VWCep, ζ Phe, and HT Vir, respectively. Also an independent approach to compute the distances to these systems was used. The use of this algorithm to VW Cep gave the distance d = (27.90 ± 0.29) pc, which is in excellent agreement with the previous Hipparcos result. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Results from UBVRI optical photometric observations of the pre-main sequence star V350 Cep during the period 2004-2014 are presented.The star was discovered in 1977 due to its remarkable increase in brightness by more than 5 mag(R).In previous studies,V350 Cep was considered to be a potential FUor or EXor eruptive variable.Our data suggest that during the period of observations the star maintains its maximum brightness with low amplitude photometric variations.Our conclusion is that V350 Cep was probably an intermediate object between FUors and EXors,similar to V1647 0ri.  相似文献

We investigate the long-term optical–infrared variability of SV Cep and explain it in the context of an existing UX Ori (UXOR) model. A 25-month monitoring programme was completed with the Infrared Space Observatory in the 3.3–100 μm wavelength range. Following a careful data reduction, the infrared light curves were correlated with the variations of SV Cep in the V band. A remarkable correlation was found between the optical and the far-infrared light curves. In the mid-infrared regime, the amplitude of variations is lower, with a hint for a weak anti-correlation with the optical changes. In order to interpret the observations, we modelled the spectral energy distribution of SV Cep assuming a self-shadowed disc with a puffed-up inner rim, using a two-dimensional radiative transfer code. We found that modifying the height of the inner rim, the wavelength dependence of the long-term optical–infrared variations is well reproduced, except the mid-infrared domain. The origin of variation of the rim height might be fluctuation in the accretion rate in the outer disc. In order to model the mid-infrared behaviour, we tested adding an optically thin envelope to the system, but this model failed to explain the far-infrared variability. Infrared variability is a powerful tool to discriminate between models of the circumstellar environment. The proposed mechanism of variable rim height may not be restricted to UXOR stars, but might be a general characteristic of intermediate-mass young stars.  相似文献

The hypothesis that W Cep has an eclipsing variability is discussed on the basis of our photometric and polarimetric observations of it from 1983–2003. Here we attempt to use our observations of W Cep to construct an average light curve, after separating out the slow variation, with the elements JDmin=2448105d+2090d. Integral spectroscopy data for the nebula GM 1-29 and the source star PV Cep obtained on the 2.6-m telescope at the Byurakan Observatory are presented. The structure and kinematics of a collimated emission outflow directed along the axis of the nebula are studied. New light curves and available times of minima of a β Lyr system EG Cep were analysed to deduce more information on the nature of the system. The main U‐shaped (OC) variation was interpreted in terms of the mass transfer and mass loss in the system. The same variation was also considered as a part of a sinusoidal variation and thus interpreted in terms of a light‐time effect due to an unseen component in the system. New B and V light curves were analyzed with different fitting procedures, and there is general agreement that both stars must be very close to each other and to stability limits. A model that fits all the data well has a near main sequence primary and a secondary star that is overflowing matter towards it. This secondary is also reasonably close to main sequence conditions. The configuration thus appears to be a (relatively uncommon) ‘Case A’ type evolving Algol and raises interesting questions about such interactive evolution and potentially useful tests of theory. The EF Boo eclipsing binary system is studied in the context of optical light curves and radial velocity curves published in the literature. The best‐solution leads to an over‐contact configuration of W–subclass of WUMa systems with a fill‐out factor of 28%. New multi-color light curves of the very short period K-type eclipsing binary V1799 Ori were obtained and analyzed with the Wilson-Devinney code. The photometric solutions reveal that the system is a W-type shallow-contact binary with a mass ratio of q = 1.335(±0.005) and a degree of contact of about f = 3.5(±1.1)%.In general, the results are in good agreement with what is reported by Samec. Dramatic manifestations of the O'Connell effect that appear in the light curves can be explained well by employing starspots on the binary surface, which confirms that the system is active at present. Several new times of light minimum were obtained. All the available times of light minimum were collected, along with the recalculated and newly obtained values. Applying a least-squares method to the constructed O- C diagram,a new ephemeris is derived for V1799 Ori. The orbital period is found to show a continuous weak increase at a rate of 1.8(±0.6) × 10-8d yr-1. The extremely shallow contact, together with the period increase, suggests that the binary may be at a critical stage predicted by thermal relaxation oscillation theory.  相似文献
