We have reconsidered the energetics of the BN/KL infrared complex, using array images at nine wavelengths between 4.8 and 20 m, and find a much lower luminosity for IRc2 than the generally accepted value. The new observations resolve larcsec structure throughout the region, including several new compact sources within a few arcsec of IRc2 and significant details imaged in the 9.7 m silicate feature. Together with other recent work, the results suggest that luminous stars associated with three compact HII regions found within BN/KL, rather than IRc2, may be the more significant luminosity sources for the complex.  相似文献

The data of the line series CH3CN 8(K) – 7(K) K = 0 – 7 and line CS J = 3 – 2 were taken simultaneously. At beam size of 16 the emissions of CH3CN and CS have a common center position located near IRc2 with deviations -8 and 5. The observed data show that in Orion KL core the integrated intensities of the two species have double peaks separated by a space of 14. The 2-dimension Gaussian fitting plots (FWHM) are ellipses ofD maj = 26 andD min = 22 for CH3CN 8(K) – 7(K) K = 3 – 6 andDmaj = 39 Dmin = 31 for CS J = 3 – 2 at a distance about 450 pc. Towards the multiple line emission region of CH3CN 8(K) – 7(K) K = 3 – 6, using a simplified very large velocity gradient model to solve the statistical equilibrium and radiative transfer equations, we find to fit the observed results, the optimum physical parameters and kinetic temperatureT k 120 K, densityn(H a) 1.2 × 105 cm–3, velocity gradientV gr 92 km s–1 pc–1 and the local abundance of CH3CNF ab 3 × 10–8. However towards the region of single line emission of CS J = 3 – 2 we have to use LTE and the optical thin approximation on the assumption ofT k= 120 K to obtain the lower limits of column density and then, an averaged abundance of CS of 6 × 10–8.  相似文献

本文对猎户座IRc2的正、仲水脉泽区的物理条件作初步研究。结果表明在动能温度600K左右,尘埃温度低于350K,密度约10~(8±0.5)cm~(-3)和水对氢分子相对丰度与速度梯度比为4×10~(-9)pcskm~(-1)的条件下,仲水3_(13)—2_(20),5_(15)—4_(22)及正水6_(16)—5_(23),4_(14)—3_(21)脉泽可能同时呈现。这个区域的水丰度约为4×10~(-6)。热尘埃并不使脉泽加强,碰撞抽运是激发星际水脉泽的一个可能机制。高密度下,准共振碰撞效应的计入可以解释6_(16)—5_(23)脉泽的高亮温度。  相似文献

Diffraction-limited array images of the Trapezium/Ney Allen infrared nebula have been obtained at six wavelengths between 7.8 and 12.4 microns, including the 9.7 micron silicate feature. Extended emission from warm dust shows significant differences in structure around each of the four Trapezium stars. The most dramatic infrared source is associated with 1 Orionis D, where the bright mid-infrared emission is found to be a distinct crescent-shaped ridge or shell, concentric with the O star. This unambiguous relationship between a known type stellar luminosity source and a distinct circumstellar dust cloud of known distance and dimensions provides a unique opportunity to test the predictions of dust grain emission models for circumstellar infrared sources.  相似文献

The superfine structure of the active region in Orion KL has been investigated in the H2O maser line at two epochs, December 23, 1998, and April 24, 1999, with an angular resolution as high as 0.01 mas. A bright central source, a bipolar outflow ejector with two nozzles spaced 0.008 mas apart, has been identified. The impact of the ejected flows causes precession of the rotation axis and gives rise to a jet structure in the shape of diverging helixes of opposite signs. The longitudinal velocities of the flows differ by 0.12 km s?1. The flow emission at the exit from the nozzles is linearly polarized and oriented at an angle of 22° relative to the rotation axis or parallel to the flow velocities. Their brightness temperature exceeds T b > 1018 K. The width of the emission line profiles is 0.43 km s?1, their relative shift is ±0.06 km s?1, and the orientations of the polarization planes differ by 45°, which determines the extraordinary rotation of the polarization plane, 25°/km s?1.  相似文献

The abundances of helium and iron in the atmosphere of the principal star of the BM Ori system are estimated. Spectra obtained with the BTA telescope and from the archives of the IUE and HST satellites are used. It turns out that the helium abundance is close to that in the sun, while that of iron is lower. The helium and iron abundances in other stars of the Trapezium of Orion are generally similar to those in BM Ori, but there are some differences. For example, of the two stars 1 Ori C and 1Ori D, one has a higher and the other a lower abundance of helium than does the sun. At the same time, the secondary of BM Ori has a normal abundance of iron.  相似文献

Hubble Space Telescope images of the Orion nebula taken with the Wide-Field Camera have revealed subarcsecond structure in several dozen objects which are apparently ionized externally from nearby stars. We have obtained near-IR images and IR polarimetry of the Orion region to search for correlations with the WFC objects. We find that all of the ultracompact WFC objects are associated with IR features of some sort, and that some are associated with strongly polarized IR emission. The object with strongest polarization also shows small IR lobes. In addition, we find some previously unreported sources, showing polarized IR emission, outside the field of the HST images, which we believe may be the same sorts of object. We note that the object with strongest polarization has a double-lobed appearance in the K band image.  相似文献

The physical nature and evolution of the Orion Nebula has begun to be revealed by calibrated emission line images and high resolution spectroscopy. We review the evidence that the nebula is a thin wall of emission on the near side of the Orion Molecular Cloud and that its separation from the dominant ionizing star is about 0.3 pc. The density of the nebula decreases rapidly away from the ionization front and the ionized gas is moving at 8 km s–1 away from the front. A three dimensional model of the surface is presented and its peaks and valleys interpreted as due to irregularities in the density of the molecular cloud. The front is moving rapidly into the molecular cloud, so that objects previously shielded from ionization are continuously being revealed. Recent Hubble Space Telescope images are reviewed and they indicate that protoplanetary disks around pre-main sequence stars are both common and rendered visible by ionization and projection against the bright nebula. A large body of velocity data is discussed and it is seen that Kolmogorov type turbulence seems to only apply to material in the ionization front and the statistical fluctuations become less correlated away from the front.  相似文献
