B andV light curves for one epoch and radial velocity curves of three different epochs have been analyzed to revise the solution of TX UMa. The solution has been adjusted simultaneously in the light curves and radial velocity curves by the method of Wilson and Devinney's differential correction. The primary star's surface rotation rate to synchronous rate is determined as 1.768 from one of the radial velocity curves. The absolute dimension of the system has been deduced based on the simultaneous solution. The primary star is well fitted to the evolutionary track for a single star while the secondary star, while filling its Roche lobe, is fitted to the evolutionary track for a close binary system.  相似文献

New BVR light curves and a photometric analysis of the eclipsing binary star V1430 Aql are presented. The light curves were obtained at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Observatory in 2004. The light curves are generally those of detached eclipsing binaries, but there are large asymmetries between maxima. New BVR light curves were analysed with an ILOT procedure. Light curve asymmetries of the system were explained in terms of large dark starspots on the primary component. The primary star shows a long‐lived and quasi‐poloidal spot distribution with active longitudes in opposite hemispheres. Absolute parameters of the system were derived. We also discuss the evolution of the system: the components are likely to be pre‐main sequence stars, but a post‐main sequence stage cannot be ruled out. More observations are needed to decide this point. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

New light curves and photometric solutions of the contact binary AZ Vir are presented in this paper. The light curves appear to exhibit a typical O'Connell effect, with Maximum I being 0.021 mag (V) and 0.023 mag (B) brighter than Maximum II, respectively. From the observations, six times of minimum light were determined and from the present times of minimum light and those collected from the references, the light elements of the system were improved. The light curves were analyzed by means of the Wilson‐Devinney program. The results suggest that AZ Vir is a W‐subtype contact binary with a mass ratio of q = 0.623(2). The asymmetry of the light curves is explained by star spot models. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Light curves of 78 Herbig Ae/Be stars were studied by digital analysis methods. Twenty-five thousand photoelectricUBVR observations of these stars were made by the authors in 1978–1990. A star was usually observed once a night. The stars were observed between 70 and 770 nights and on average each star was observed at more than 300 nights. The mean epoch for a star is 5 years. A morphologic classification of the light curves is suggested. The method of digital analysis are briefly described. To estimate the reliability of cyclic phenomena discovered in our study, a large number of them has been examined.  相似文献

We present an analysis of BV R light curves of an eclipsing binary CK Bootis, a system with a very small mass ratio. The light curves appear to exhibit a typical O'Connell effect. The light curves are analyzed by means of the latest version of the WD program. The asymmetry of the light curves is explained by a cool star spot model. The simultaneous BV R synthetic light curve analysis gives a tiny mass ratio of 0.12, an extremely large fill‐out factor of 0.65, and a very small difference between the component temperatures of 90 K. The absolute parameters of the system were also derived by combining the photometric solutions with the radial velocity data. The mass of the secondary is very low (0.15 M) and it continues losing mass. Thirty seven new times of minimum are reported. It is found that the orbital period of the system has a quasi periodic variation, superimposed on a period increase. The long‐term period increase rate is deduced to be dP/dt = 3.54x10–7 d yr–1, which can be interpreted as being due to mass transfer from the less massive star to the more massive component. Photoelectric observations of the star HD 200925 in the standardUBV system have been secured and analysed. The period is determined to be 0 . d 267 394. From the period and shape of the light and colour curves, the star HD 200925 appears to be a dwarf cepheid. The physical parameters have been derived. The mass derived for this star is found to agree well with the value inferred from the evolutionary tracks. The star appears to be a post-Main Sequence star in the hydrogen shell burning stage of evolution. The spectral class, for this star, is assigned to be F2 III.  相似文献

We present observations and light curve analysis of the eclipsing binary R CMa in the narrow band filters v and b. Observations were made during 1993 at Biruni Observatory and the light curves have been analyzed using the Wilson-Devinney light curve interpretation program. Assuming a semi-detached configuration for R CMa, the parameters i, Ω1, L 1, T 2 and A 2 were adjusted for the best fit between the synthesized light curves and observations. Both light curves were fitted well with a lower value of bolometric albedo than what would be expected for a normal cool star with a convective envelope. The masses of the primary and secondary components and the absolute dimensions of the stars have been calculated using the derived relative dimensions from Wilson-Devinney codes and the spectroscopic observations.  相似文献

UBV photometry of the peculiar star FK Comae, obtained during the period January–June 1983, is presented. The amplitude of the photometric variation has raised with respect to the previous observations performed in 1981 and 1982, attaining about 0.18 mag in theV filter. Colour curves indicate that the star is redder at minimum light; this fact is consistent with both the models presented to explain the properties of FK Comae. A Fourier analysis of the light curves available in the literature has been performed; the phases of minimum and maximum light turn out to be noticeably stable in time. This fact is difficult to be reconciled with the hypothesis of dark spots that are observed to migrate in other active stars. Rather, it could be explained by the model of Walter and Basri (1982a, b), implying an extremely evolved Algol-type system accreting mass on its primary component.  相似文献

This paper presents a new CCD Bessell VRcIc light curves and photometric analysis of the newly discovered RS CVn type eclipsing binary star V1034 Her. The light curves were obtained at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Observatory in 2006. Variations of the orbital period of the system were firstly studied. The (O − C) diagram with a low range of observing time of about 20 years shows an upward parabola, which indicates a secular increase in the orbital period of the system. The light curves are generally those of detached eclipsing binaries; however, there are large asymmetries between maxima. The VRcIc light curves were analysed with two different fitting procedures: Wilson–Devinney method supplemented with a Monte Carlo type algorithm and Information Limit Optimization Technique (ILOT). Our general results find V1034 Her. as a well detached system, in which the components are filling 65% of their Roche lobes. Light curve asymmetries of the system are explained in terms of large dark starspots on the primary component. The primary star shows a long-lived spot distribution with active longitudes in the same hemisphere.  相似文献

The long-period eclipsing binary star V367 Cygni has been observed photoelectrically in two colours,B andV, in 1984, 1985, and 1986. These new light curves of the system have been discussed and compared for the light-variability with the earlier ones presented by Heiser (1962). Using some of the previously published photoelectric light curves and the present ones, several primary minima times have been derived to calculate the light elements. Any attempt to obtain a photometric solution of the binary is so complicated by the peculiar nature of the light curve caused by the presence of the circumstellar matter in the system. Despite this difficulty, however, some approaches are being carried out to solve the light curves which will be discussed shortly.  相似文献

The RS CVn-type eclipsing binary star MM Her has been observed in two colours,B andV, in 1979, 1980, and 1983. Several minima times were obtained during the observations and new light elements calculated. The light curves of the system obtained in blue and yellow lights show a significant wave-like distortion which migrates towards the decreasing orbital phases. Its migration period was estimated to be about 3.5 yr. The amplitudes of the wave-like distortion inB andV appear to change each year. The primary minimum of the system is a total eclipse with a duration of 0d.08.  相似文献

In this paper the two newB- andV-light curves of the eclipsing variable star AB Andromedae, obtained during 1979 with the 48 in reflector of the National Observatory of Athens, are represented and discussed. General information of the system is given in the Introduction, while in Section 2 some observational and reductional details are given and the new light curves are represented. Section 3 deals with the period of the system and, finally, in Section 4 a general discussion is given.  相似文献

SW Lacertae is a short-period variable star of the W UMa-type. A total of 261 photoelectric observations for eachU, B, andV filter were obtained in 1986 while 522 photoelectric observations for eachB andV filter were obtained in 1987. All these observations were transformed to theU, B, andV colours of theUBV standard system. Nine light curves for primary and secondary eclipses were obtained, their times of minima were determined and a new linear ephemeris was obtained. The period changes of the system were also discussed.  相似文献

New light curves and available times of minima of a β Lyr system EG Cep were analysed to deduce more information on the nature of the system. The main U‐shaped (OC) variation was interpreted in terms of the mass transfer and mass loss in the system. The same variation was also considered as a part of a sinusoidal variation and thus interpreted in terms of a light‐time effect due to an unseen component in the system. New B and V light curves were analyzed with different fitting procedures, and there is general agreement that both stars must be very close to each other and to stability limits. A model that fits all the data well has a near main sequence primary and a secondary star that is overflowing matter towards it. This secondary is also reasonably close to main sequence conditions. The configuration thus appears to be a (relatively uncommon) ‘Case A’ type evolving Algol and raises interesting questions about such interactive evolution and potentially useful tests of theory. The variable star SU Equulei was classified as a close binary with an eclipse light curve previously categorized as WUMa type. The aim of this paper is a review of this old classification on the basis of new observations and a new determination of variable star ephemeris as well as the determination of SU Equ spectral type and distance. New photometric observations in different colours allow a precise determination of the period of variability and yield more accurate light curves allowing a re‐classification of the type of variability. We find the best period of variability to be half the old value. The shape of the light curve is inconsistent with an eclipse curve but consistent with an RR Lyrae type c classification. From the B, V, and R colours we deduce a new spectral classification. SU Equulei is an RRc Lyrae type variable of spectral class A8 at a distance of ≈12.4 kpc instead of a late‐type eclipsing binary (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Observations of V535 Ara obtained with IUE define the light curve of this long-period W UMa binary in the ultraviolet and let us estimate its gravity darkening. This star was chosen as a contact binary near the high-T eff limit for convection. The ultraviolet colours and spectral type correspond to (B–V)0=0.24, or A8V, and imply the star should have very little residual convection in its envelope. The gravity darkening thus ought to be large, as in a radiative star, unless it is modified by circulation in the common envelope, or unless all stars this warm are convective. The light-curve analysis is complicated by a long-term wave that depresses the orbital phases before and after secondary eclipse. We have obtained four solutions to a combination of optical and ultraviolet light curves, two for high, radiative gravity darkening and two for low, convective gravity darkening. For each value of the gravity-darkening exponent, we let the larger, more massive binary component either (a) have a dark spot in its back side or (b) have an excessively hot side facing its companion. The light curves were fitted equally well in all four cases; however, in all but the one with low-gravity darkening and a hot inner face there was a rather large global temperature difference between the two stars. The primary component of this system appears to be significantly undermassive for its spectral type, more so than the primary in AW UMa, but this probably results simply from systematic errors in a radial-velocity solution by Schöffel. It is suggested that the W UMa binaries are found only at spectral types later than about A8 because their outer envelopes must be convective to transfer luminosity.  相似文献

A Laplace and a Hankel transform of the light curves of eclipsing binary star systems have been expressed in terms of the eclipse elements (L 1,r 1,2 andi) of the spherical basic model. These general expressions can be used for the solution of the eclipse elements of the systems in terms of the observed quantities.  相似文献
