The Xishan deposit, located in the western Guangdong Province in South China, is a quartz-vein type W-Sn deposit with an average Sn grade of 0.1–0.4 wt%. The deposit is temporally and spatially associated with Xishan alkali feldspar granite. The W–Sn mineralization is present mainly as veins that are hosted by the granite. In this paper we present new zircon U–Pb age, whole-rock geochemical data, Sr–Nd–Pb–Hf isotopic data and Re–Os age in order to constrain the nature and timing of magmatism and mineralization in the Xishan mining district with implications on geodynamic settings. LA–ICP–MS zircon U–Pb analyses yielded an age of 79.14 ± 0.31 Ma for the alkali feldspar granite, consistent with the molybdenite Re–Os age of 79.41 ± 1.11 Ma. The alkali feldspar granite shows high contents of SiO2 (71.52–76.25 wt%), high total alkalis (Na2O + K2O = 9.35–13.51 wt%), high field strength elements (e.g. Zr = 95.4–116 ppm, Y = 97.1–138 ppm, Nb = 36.1–55.5 ppm, Ga = 97.1–138 ppm), and rare earth elements (total REE = 171.8–194.0 ppm) as well as high Ga/Al ratios (10,000 × Ga/Al = 3.23–3.82) suggesting that it has the geochemical characteristics of A-type granite and shows an A2 subtype affinity. Sr–Nd isotopes of the alkali feldspar granite show that (87Sr/86Sr)i values range from 0.7111 to 0.7183, and the εNd(t) values and Nd model ages (T2DM) vary from −6.8 to −6.5 and 1414 to 1433 Ma, respectively. The Pb isotopic compositions are variable, with 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb and 208Pb/204Pb values ranging from 18.783 to 18.947, 15.709 to 15.722 and 38.969 to 39.244, respectively, indicating that the alkali feldspar granite was derived from a mantle-crust mixed source. In situ Hf isotopic analyses reveal that the alkali feldspar granite has εHf(t) values ranging from −9.69 to −0.04 and two-stage Hf model ages from 1145 Ma to 1755 Ma, indicating that the alkali feldspar granite was formed by the partial melting of Mesoproterozoic crusts of the Cathaysia Block with additions of mantle-derived materials. These results, together with previously presented regional geological relationships, suggest that the formation of the Xishan granite and associated W–Sn mineralization is related to lithospheric extension and asthenospheric upwelling that are attributed to a directional change of Pacific plate motion.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The mechanism that triggered large-scale Late Mesozoic magmatism in the northeastern Great Xing’an Range (NE GXAR) is strongly controversial. In this paper, we present whole rock geochemistry and zircon trace element, U-Pb and Hf isotopic data on the volcanic rocks in the Longjiang and Guanghua formations in the northeastern Xing’an Block. Zircons with ages of 120–119 Ma indicate that these volcanic rocks were formed in the Early Cretaceous. Combined with previous data, it is clear that volcanic rocks in the NE GXAR erupted between 128 and 108 Ma. The andesite samples of the Longjiang Formation show high contents of Al2O3, CaO, and MgO, significant negative Nb, Ta, and Ti anomalies; εHf (t) values of zircons from the andesite sample vary from +4.13 to +7.67, indicating an enriched mantle source. The rhyolites of the Guanghua Formation show high SiO2 and K2O concentrations, low P2O5, MgO, Cr, and Ni contents and Mg# values. The positive εHf (t) values (+5.72 to +10.58) with two-stage Hf model ages ranging from 939 to 701 Ma indicate that the rhyolites are derived from the partial melting of basaltic lower crust. Combined with the regional geological evolution, we conclude that the generation of the Early Cretaceous volcanic rocks in the NE GXAR might be triggered by the dehydration, disintegration, and foundering of the Mongol-Okhotsk Oceanic flat-slab and the subsequent upwelling of the asthenosphere.  相似文献

This paper gives a brief review of what I consider as the state of the art regarding the largely accepted data and ideas concerning the Proterozoic to Early Paleozoic tectonic evolution of South China. The South China craton was built by the welding of the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks, with a different previous history giving a different pre-Neoproterozoic basement composition, due to the Jiangnan (Jinning, Sibao) orogeny. This Jiangnan orogeny was a collisional event, induced by the consumption of an intervening oceanic domain by subduction beneath the Yangzte plate. The evolution involved a volcanic arc on the Yangtze active margin, active from ca. 980 Ma to ca. 850 Ma, the subsequent collision beginning at around 870–860 Ma and responsible for the emplacement of thrust sheets of ophiolitic mélange (dated around 1000–900 Ma) and blueschists (900–870 Ma), followed by late- to post-collisional granitic plutonism (840–800 Ma). The newly amalgamated South China craton suffered from rifting, starting around 850 Ma, marked by mafic–ultramafic magmatism until ca. 750 Ma. The Nanhua rift basin evolved with a thick sedimentation in its middle part until the Ordovician. South China was affected by the Early Paleozoic orogeny (mainly Silurian), characterized by a strong quasi-symmetrical intracontinental shortening, involving the sedimentary cover of the rift and its margins as well as the basement, leading to crustal thickening. This crustal thickening induced an important anatexis and emplacement of peraluminous granites during the Silurian. Unlike the Jiangnan orogeny, which was of collisional type, the Early Paleozoic one was a bit similar to a Pyrenean intracontinental type. Some pending problems need further research for clarification, for example: the location and timing of integration of South China within Rodinia, the triggering factor of the Early Paleozoic orogeny, the mapping of the contacts bounding the Lower Paleozoic thrust sheets responsible for the crustal thickening.  相似文献

The newly discovered large-scale Baiganhu W–Sn orefield, consisting of the Kekekaerde, Baiganhu, Bashierxi, and Awaer deposits, is located in Ruoqiang County, southeastern Xinjiang, China. These deposits comprise mainly three types of W–Sn mineralization: early-stage skarn-type, middle-stage greisen-type, and late-stage quartz-vein-type. In this study, we classified seven major vertical zones on the basis of petrographic characteristics, roughly from the bottom of the parental granitic intrusions upward, as (A) fresh syenogranite, (B) argillic alteration, (C) muscovite-dominated greisenization, (D) tourmaline-dominated greisenization, (E) marginal facies (including K-feldspar pegmatite and fine-grained granite), (F) aplitic apophysis, and (G1) skarn or (G2) infilled silification zones. According to the alteration–mineralization assemblages and cross-cutting relationships, five stages of mineralization are recognized in the orefield (I, skarn stage; II, greisen stage; III, quartz vein stage; IV, argillic alteration stage; and V, supergene stage), and reverse alteration zonation in the altered intrusion is also observed. The W–Sn deposits are spatially associated with syenogranite, which is part of the Caledonian Bashierxi magmatic series. Laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) zircon U–Pb dating of the syenogranite yields a weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 413.6 ± 2.4 Ma (MSWD = 0.36, n = 30). Hydrothermal muscovite from three samples associated with W–Sn mineralization yields plateau 40Ar/39Ar ages of 411.7 ± 2.6 Ma (MSWD = 0.21), 412.8 ± 2.4 Ma (MSWD = 0.22), and 413.8 ± 2.6 Ma (MSWD = 0.22), which is consistent with the zircon U–Pb age, thus indicating a temporal link between the emplacement of the syenogranite and the W–Sn mineralization. Our age data and previously published ages, along with geochemical data, for the granitoids in the Bashierxi magmatic series show a nearly contemporaneous evolution of A- and S-type granites, which were emplaced in a post-orogenic setting at ca. 432–413 Ma. As compared with the A-type granites, the syenogranites with S-type affinities probably resulted from a lower degree of partial melting of metagreywackes, which was more likely to be enriched in the ore-forming elements W and Sn, as well as volatiles such as B and H2O. In addition, the syenogranites exhibit low oxidation states and underwent high degrees of factional crystallization, both of which favor post-magmatic W–Sn mineralization. We suggest that more attention should be given to buried syenogranites of S-type affinities during mineral exploration in this area, and that the proposed model of a vertical alteration zoning can act as a guide to the targeting of similar ore systems.  相似文献

A recently recognized molybdenum (Mo) metallogenic belt is present within and adjacent to the northern part of the North China Craton (NCC). More than 20 Mo deposits are present in the belt, including the Sadaigoumen and Dacaoping porphyry deposits located in the Fengning region of the northern part of Hebei Province. The Sadaigoumen deposit has a Re–Os molybdenite weighted mean age of 236.5 ± 2.2 Ma (MSWD = 1.4, n = 6), which is more reliable than existing dates and is interpreted as the precise age for formation of the deposit. The Dacaoping Mo deposit is about 100 million years younger, with a Re–Os molybdenite isochron age of 140.1 ± 3.4 Ma (2σ, MSWD = 0.26, n = 5), which is within error of the weighted mean age of 139.4 ± 0.9 Ma. The ages of the two deposits show that there are at least two episodes of Mo porphyry formation in the Fengning region. In combination with the regional geological evolution of this part of the craton margin, we propose that the Triassic Mo event at Sadaigoumen is associated with a collisional event during the closure of the ancient Asian Ocean, whereas the Early Cretaceous Mo event at Dacaoping is associated with lithospheric thinning of the NCC.  相似文献

Total organic carbon content (TOC), trace element and platinum-group element (PGE) concentrations were determined in the black shales of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation in the Nayong area, Guizhou Province, South China, in order to study the polymetallic Ni–Mo–PGE mineralization. The results demonstrate that numerous elements are enriched in the polymetallic ores compared to those of the nearby black shale, particularly Ni, Mo, Zn, TOC and total PGE, which can reach up to 7.03 wt.%, 8.49 wt.%, 11.7 wt.%, 11.5 wt.% and 943 ppb, respectively. The elemental enrichment distribution patterns are similar to those in the Zunyi and Zhangjiajie areas except that the Nayong location is exceptionally enriched in Zn. Whereas positive correlations are observed between the ore elements of the polymetallic ores, no such correlations are observed in the black shale. These positively correlated metallic elements are classified into three groups: Co–Ni–Cu–PGE, Zn–Cd–Pb and Mo–Tl–TOC. The geological and geochemical features of these elements suggest that Proterozoic and Early Palaeozoic mafic and ultramafic rocks, dolomites and/or Pb–Zn deposits of the Neoproterozoic Dengying Formation and seawater could be the principal sources for Co–Ni–Cu–PGE, Zn–Cd–Pb, and Mo–Tl–TOC, respectively. Furthermore, the chondrite-normalized patterns of PGEs with Pd/Pt, Pd/Ir and Pt/Ir indicate that PGE enrichment of the polymetallic ores is most likely related to hydrothermal processes associated with the mafic rocks. In contrast, PGE enrichment in the black shale resembles that of the marine oil shale with terrigenous and seawater contributions. Our investigations of TOC, trace elements and PGE geochemistry suggest that multiple sources along with submarine hydrothermal and biological contributions might be responsible for the formation of the polymetallic Ni–Mo–PGE mineralization in the black shales of the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation across southern China.  相似文献

This study emphasizes to testify the potential of geochemical proxies of lacustrine sediments as indicative of past climatic changes since the last deglaciation over the catchment of a small closed lake in South China. Based on the study on the core K02 from Dahu Swamp, a small lake in the eastern Nanling Mountains, we inferred that chemical features of clastic materials, which were mainly derived from the granite weathering crust and transported by surface runoff into this lake, possibly had played an important role in affecting chemical characteristics of the sediments. Wetter climatic conditions would lead to stronger chemical weathering intensity (CWI), resulting in more soluble and mobile elements being easily leached downward in granite weathering crusts and the insoluble ones being enriched in the top materials of the weathering crusts. In contrast, dry conditions would exert a converse influence. Although this study presents a different climatic implication of geochemistry from lacustrine sediments in South China from that in north-central China, the results demonstrate that chemical elements of sediments in the small lake in South China can be utilized to reflect the CWI, which was closely in association with variations in temperature and precipitation in the lake catchment.  相似文献

Most rare-metal granites in South China host major W deposits with few or without Ta–Nb mineralization. However, the Yashan granitic pluton, located in the Yichun area of western Jiangxi province, South China, hosts a major Nb–Ta deposit with minor W mineralization. It is thus important for understanding the diversity of W and Nb–Ta mineralization associated with rare-metal granites. The Yashan pluton consists of multi-stage intrusive units, including the protolithionite (-muscovite) granite, Li-mica granite and topaz–lepidolite granite from the early to late stages. Bulk-rock REE contents and La/Yb ratios decrease from protolithionite granite to Li-mica granite to topaz–lepidolite granite, suggesting the dominant plagioclase fractionation. This variation, together with increasing Li, Rb, Cs and Ta but decreasing Nb/Ta and Zr/Hf ratios, is consistent with the magmatic evolution. In the Yashan pluton, micas are protolithionite, muscovite, Li-mica and lepidolite, and zircons show wide concentration ranges of ZrO2, HfO2, UO2, ThO2, Y2O3 and P2O5. Compositional variations of minerals, such as increasing F, Rb and Li in mica and increasing Hf, U and P in zircon are also in concert with the magmatic evolution from protolithionite granite to Li-mica granite to topaz–lepidolite granite. The most evolved topaz–lepidolite granite has the highest bulk-rock Li, Rb, Cs, F and P contents, consistent with the highest contents of these elements and the lowest Nb/Ta ratio in mica and the lowest Zr/Hf ratio in zircon. Ta–Nb enrichment was closely related to the enrichment of volatile elements (i.e. Li, F and P) in the melt during magmatic evolution, which raised the proportion of non-bridging oxygens (NBOs) in the melt. The rims of zoned micas in the Li-mica and topaz–lepidolite granites contain lower Rb, Cs, Nb and Ta and much lower F and W than the cores and/or mantles, indicating an exotic aqueous fluid during hydrothermal evolution. Some columbite-group minerals may have formed from exotic aqueous fluids which were originally depleted in F, Rb, Cs, Nb, Ta and W, but such fluids were not responsible for Ta–Nb enrichment in the Yashan granite. The interaction of hydrothermal fluids with previously existing micas may have played an important role in leaching, concentrating and transporting W, Fe and Ti. Ta–Nb enrichment was associated with highly evolved magmas, but W mineralization is closely related to hydrothermal fluid. Thus these magmatic and hydrothermal processes explain the diversity of W and Ta–Nb mineralizations in the rare-metal granites.  相似文献

The Qianlishan granite complex, situated 16 km southeast of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, China, hosts the Shizhuyuan W–Sn–Bi–Mo deposit. This complex, which intruded the Protozoic metasedimentary rocks and the Devonian clastic sedimentary and carbonate rocks, consists of mainly medium- to coarse-grained biotite granites and minor amounts of fine-grained biotite granite in addition to granite and quartz porphyry. K–Ar ages suggest three episodes of plutonism: the medium- to coarse-grained biotite granite (before 152 Ma), the fine-grained biotite granite (137 Ma), and the granite porphyry (129–131 Ma). Muscovite ages of the greisen are 145–148 Ma, suggesting that the W–Sn–Bi–Mo mineralization was related to the main, medium- to coarse-grained biotite granites. The K–Ar age of the hydrothermal vein mineralization is 92 Ma and is probably related to the porphyries.  相似文献

The Jiepailing mining district in the Nanling range in South China is well-known for its granite-related Sn–Be–F-mineralization. Recently, drill holes have exposed an Nb–Ta–W–Sn mineralized granitic porphyry and topaz-bearing granite–greisen at depth, which we have studied here, using mineral (columbite, rutile, wolframite, cassiterite, zircon, and mica) major- and trace-element compositional data, mineral textures, and zircon and columbite U–Pb geochronology. Our age data shows that the porphyry and the granite and their mineralization formed at ~ 91–89 ± 1 Ma in the late-Cretaceous, and thus subsequent to the main ore-forming events of the region. Continuous mineral compositional trends indicate that the studied granitoids are related by progressive fractionation. We propose that: (1) subhedral–euhedral, low-Ta columbite crystallized from melt; (2) euhedral–subhedral rutile and wolframite and subhedral and subhedral cassiterite up to ~ 30 μm in size formed at the magmatic–hydrothermal transition of the system; and (3) high-Ta columbite and subhedral cassiterite up to ~ 10 μm in size formed from subsolidus hydrothermal fluids. In combination with the Nb, Ta, W, and Sn compositions of zircon and mica, their textures and compositional variation allow us to track the magmatic to hydrothermal rare-metal fractionation (concentration, mobilization, and deposition) of the system in detail, despite our limited access to it through only two exploration drill cores. Using the Nb, Ta, W, and Sn concentrations in zircon (refractory, early-crystallized) and in micas (late equilibrated), respectively, was particularly useful for tracing the partial loss of Sn and W ore components from the intrusion, and to constrain the information which is crucial for any rigorous ore exploration.  相似文献

Shilu is a large porphyry–skarn deposit in the Yunkai district in Guangdong Province, South China. The Shilu granitic intrusion in the mine area is a granodiorite which is genetically related to Cu mineralization. Plagioclase in the granodiorite has a zoned texture and is mainly andesine with minor amounts of labradorite, whereas the K-feldspars exhibit Carlsbad twins and some are also characterized by a zonal texture. K-feldspars from the granodiorite show high contents of Or (87–92 wt.%) with minor Ab (8–13 wt.%) and negligible An value of 0–0.3 wt.%. Biotite can be classified as magnesio-biotite, and is characterized by Mg-rich [Mg/(Mg + Fe) = 0.54–0.60] and AlVI-low (average values = 0.11). Hornblende is chiefly magnesiohornblende and tschermakite. LA-ICP-MS zircon U–Pb age of the Shilu granodiorite is 107 ± 0.7 Ma, which is consistent with molybdenites Re–Os age of 104.1 ± 1.3 Ma. Geochemical data indicate that the Shilu granodiorite is silica-rich (SiO2 = 63.43–65.03 wt.%) and alkali-rich (K2O + Na2O = 5.45–6.05 wt.%), as well as calcium-rich (CaO = 4.76–5.1 wt.%). Trace element geochemistry results show enrichments in large ion lithophile elements (e.g., Rb, K, and Ba) and depletions in some high field strength elements (e.g., Nb, P, Ta, and Ti). The total rare earth element (REE) content of the granodioritic rocks is low (∑ REE < 200 ppm), and is characterized by light REE enrichment [(La/Yb)N > 9] and moderately negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* = 0.83–0.90). These mineralogical, geochronological, and geochemical results suggest that the Shilu granodiorite has a mixed crust–mantle source with a geochemical affinity to I-type granitoids. Hornblende thermobarometry yielded magmatic crystallization temperatures of 686–785 °C and crystallization pressures between 1.0 and 2.34 kbar, which is converted to depths in a range of 3.31 to 7.71 km. Biotite thermobarometry yielded similar temperatures and lower pressures of 680–780 °C and 0.8–2 kbar (depth 2.64–6.6 km), respectively. The parent magma had a high oxygen fugacity. The Shilu granodiorite has a relatively low εNd/t–t value and high (87Sr/86Sr)i value, and Nd isotopes yield two-stage depleted mantle Nd model ages of 969–1590 Ma. Our new data, combined with previous studies, imply that the granodiorite and the associated Shilu Cu–Mo deposit was formed in an extensional environment, closely related to remelting of residual subducted slab fragments in the Jurassic.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The northern Lesser Xing’an Range in NE China hosts many gold deposits. However, genesis and tectonic background for the mineralization remain unclear. The newly discovered Yongxin gold deposit in this region provides a good example for understanding the related issues. Two economic orebodies have been recognized at Yongxin and they are mainly hosted in the hydrothermal breccias. Zircon U–Pb ages of granite porphyry and diorite porphyry are 119.3 ± 0.7 Ma and 119.9 ± 0.6 Ma, respectively. These data provide constraints to the upper limit of ore-forming age. The δ34S values of pyrite from orebodies range from 2.3‰ to 5.1‰. The 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb and 208Pb/204Pb ratios of the pyrite are of 18.126–18.255, 15.492–15.537 and 37.880–38.019, respectively. The δ18OH2O and δD values of ore-forming fluids range from ?12.5‰ to 1.8‰ and from ?124.8‰ to ?102.1‰, respectively. The REE compositions of gold-bearing pyrite are similar to those of the volcanic rocks of the Longjiang formation, diorite porphyry and granite porphyry. The combined geological, geochronological and geochemical characteristics of the Yongxin gold deposit indicate that the ore-forming materials were likely sourced from the volcanic rocks of the Longjiang formation, diorite porphyry and granite porphyry, whereas the ore-forming fluids are dominated by meteoric water. The Yongxin gold deposit could be a product of the Early Cretaceous large-scale gold mineralization in northeast China which occurred in an extensional tectonic setting and were related to the rollback of the subducted Paleo-Pacific Oceanic Plate beneath the continental margin of northeast China.  相似文献

The Sanjiang Tethyan Metallogenic Domain (STMD) is an important part of the Tethyan giant metallogenic belt. The Yidun Arc is a part of the STMD in the eastern Tibetan Plateau. Recently, four newly discovered Mo–Cu–(W) ore deposits related to granitic intrusions were found distributed along the north-south strike in the southern Yidun Arc, which are identified as the Xiuwacu, Relin, Hongshan, and Tongchanggou deposits herein. These four deposits formed along high-angle north-northwest or north-west strike-slip faults, with vein-type and porphyry-type Mo–Cu mineralization developed in the intrusions. Molybdenite Re–Os and zircon U–Pb dating together with zircon Hf isotopes and whole-rock geochemistry of the intrusions were studied to discern the relationship between mineralization and magmatism, metallogenesis, and tectonic settings. Molybdenite from skarn-type mineralization at the Hongshan deposit has a Re–Os isochron age of 81.2 ± 2.6 Ma (MSWD = 1.3, n = 5) consistent with previously published zircon U–Pb ages and Re–Os ages of porphyry-type Mo mineralization. These results indicate that the Hongshan is a Late Cretaceous porphyry-skarn Cu–Mo deposit. Zircon U–Pb ages of the granitic intrusions in the Xiuwacu, Relin, and Tongchanggou deposits varying from ~ 87.4 Ma to ~ 82.7 Ma. Combined with published molybdenite Re–Os age spectrum (~ 85 Ma to ~ 81.2 Ma), it is proposed that the Mo–Cu–(W) mineralization in the Shangri-La region is spatially, temporally, and probably genetically related to the Late Cretaceous granitic intrusions. The Relin, Hongshan, and Tongchanggou intrusions have high SiO2 (65.2–70.0 wt.%), Sr (363–905 ppm), Sr/Y (22–72), and La/Yb (37–69) ratios, and low Y (11.6–17.0 ppm) and Yb (0.97–1.59 ppm), which displayed adakitic affinities. Their low MgO (0.66–1.44 wt.%), Mg# (25–46), variable negative zircon εHf(t) values (− 7.9 to − 2.3), and Proterozoic two-stages Hf model ages (TDM2 = 1.13–1.62 Ga) suggest that they were probably dominantly derived from partial melting of thickened lower continental crust. According to the tectonic evolution of the Bangong Meso-Tethys Ocean during the Late Mesozoic, the Late Cretaceous igneous event and mineralization in the Yidun Arc likely formed under a late- or post-collision extensional environment, probably related to the collision between the Lhasa and Qiangtang terranes during the Late Cretaceous.  相似文献

High-silica (SiO2 > 70 wt.%) granites (HSGs) are the main source of W, Sn, and rare metals. However, abundant HSGs, temporally, spatially, and genetically associated with Pb–Zn mineralization, in the Lhasa terrane (LT), provided an ideal opportunity to study the key factors responsible for Pb–Zn enrichment, instead of W–Sn enrichment. Here we contribute to this topic through U-Pb dating of zircon and garnet, and whole-rock and Sr–Nd–Hf isotopic geochemistry of ore-related quartz porphyries in the Bangbule deposit and compared these results with published data from large and giant Pb–Zn and W deposits in the LT. The magmatism-alteration-mineralization event in the Bangbule deposit was recorded by robust zircon U–Pb ages of 77.3 ± 0.9 Ma and hydrothermal garnet U–Pb ages of 75.7 ± 4.8 Ma, which is 10–15 Ma earlier than the main Paleocene metallogenic event and the first record of late Cretaceous Pb–Zn polymetallic mineralization in the LT. The late Cretaceous-Paleocene magmatism and mineralization events are a response to the subduction of Neotethyan oceanic lithosphere, which occurred as a result of the collision of the Indian and Asian plates. These HSGs related to Pb–Zn mineralization, with high total-alkalis and low magnesian contents, are enriched in Ba, Th, and Rb, but depleted in Ti, Eu, Sr, and P. They belong to either the S-type, or I-type granites. The Sr–Nd–Hf isotopic compositions of the Pb–Zn mineralized granites demonstrate that they were generated by the partial melting of Proterozoic basement with or without mantle-derived melt input. This was consistent with the postulated source of W enrichment in the LT. The Pb–Zn and W related granites have similar zircon-Ti-saturation temperatures, comparable low whole-rock Fe2O3/FeO ratios, and zircon oxygen fugacity. This indicated that the Pb–Zn–W enrichment in the high-silica magma system could be attributed to a relatively reduced magma. The Pb–Zn related HSGs, abundant quartz and feldspar phenocrysts, and weak fractionation of twin-elements in whole-rock analysis, can be used to reconstruct a model of the magma reservoir. We postulate that these features could be reproduced by silica-rich crystal accumulation in a magma reservoir, with a loss of magmatic fluids. The magma associated with W mineralization exhibited a higher level of differentiation compared to the Pb–Zn related magma; however, different groups of zircon texture with varying rare earth elements and concomitance of rare earth elements tetrad effect and high fractionation of twin-elements in whole-rock are formed by a magmatic-hydrothermal transition in highly evolved system. As the source and oxygen fugacities of the Pb–Zn and W related magmas are similar, the absence of a giant W–Sn deposit in the LT may indicate that parent magmas with a low degree of evolution and magmatic-hydrothermal transition are not conducive to their formation. This implies that the rocks that originated as highly evolved silicate-rich parent magmas, with a high degree of magmatic-hydrothermal alteration, would need to be targeted for W–Sn mineral exploration in the LT. In summary, our results emphasize that variations in chemical differentiation and the evolution of high-silica magmatic-hydrothermal systems can lead to differences in Pb–Zn and W enrichment. This has implications for the evaluation of the mineral potential of high-silica granites and hence their attractiveness as targets for mineral exploration.  相似文献

The Zhuxi deposit is a recently discovered W–Cu deposit located in the Jiangnan porphyry–skarn W belt in South China. The deposit has a resource of 3.44 million tonnes of WO3, making it the largest on Earth, however its origin and the evolution of its magmatic–hydrothermal system remain unclear, largely because alteration–mineralization types in this giant deposit have been less well-studied, apart from a study of the calcic skarn orebodies. The different types of mineralization can be classified into magnesian skarn, calcic skarn, and scheelite–quartz–muscovite(SQM) vein types. Field investigations and mineralogical analyses show that the magnesian skarn hosted by dolomitic limestone is characterized by garnet of the grossular–pyralspite(pyrope, almandine, and spessartine) series, diopside, serpentine, and Mg-rich chlorite. The calcic skarn hosted by limestone is characterized by garnet of the grossular–andradite series, hedenbergite, wollastonite, epidote, and Fe-rich chlorite. The SQM veins host highgrade W–Cu mineralization and have overprinted the magnesian and calcic skarn orebodies. Scheelite is intergrown with hydrous silicates in the retrograde skarn, or occurs with quartz, chalcopyrite, sulfide minerals, fluorite, and muscovite in the SQM veins.Fluid inclusion investigations of the gangue and ore minerals revealed the evolution of the ore-forming fluids, which involved:(1) melt and coexisting high–moderate-salinity, high-temperature, high-pressure(>450 ℃and >1.68 kbar), methane-bearing aqueous fluids that were trapped in prograde skarn minerals;(2) moderate–low-salinity, moderate-temperature, moderate-pressure(~210–300 ℃and ~0.64 kbar),methane-rich aqueous fluids that formed the retrograde skarn-type W orebodies;(3) low-salinity,moderate–low-temperature, moderate-pressure(~150–240 ℃and ~0.56 kbar), methane-rich aqueous fluids that formed the quartz–sulfide Cu(–W) orebodies in skarn;(4) moderate–low-salinity,moderate-temperature, low-pressure(~150–250 ℃and ~0.34 kbar) alkanes-dominated aqueous fluids in the SQM vein stage, which led to the formation of high-grade W–Cu orebodies. The S–Pb isotopic compositions of the sulfides suggest that the ore-forming materials were mainly derived from magma generated by crustal anatexis, with minor addition of a mantle component. The H–O isotopic compositions of quartz and scheelite indicate that the ore-forming fluids originated mainly from magmatic water with later addition of meteoric water. The C–O isotopic compositions of calcite indicate that the ore-forming fluid was originally derived from granitic magma, and then mixed with reduced fluid exsolved from local carbonate strata. Depressurization and resultant fluid boiling were key to precipitation of W in the retrograde skarn stage. Mixing of residual fluid with meteoric water led to a decrease in fluid salinity and Cu(–W) mineralization in the quartz–sulfide stage in skarn. The high-grade W–Cu mineralization in the SQM veins formed by multiple mechanisms, including fracturing, and fluid immiscibility, boiling, and mixing.  相似文献

More than 50 % of the world's total reserves of tungsten are in China and most tungsten deposits are located in the Nanling range in southeast China. This study explores the potential genetic relationship between tungsten–tin (W–Sn) mineralization and shallower Ag–Pb–Zn deposits in the Nanling range based on data from the Wutong deposit, Guangxi Province. The lead, oxygen, carbon, sulfur, and strontium isotopic compositions of minerals at Wutong indicate that a single crustal-derived fluid was responsible for mineralization. Wutong likely formed at relatively low temperatures (~200–300 °C) and low pressures, as indicated by the similarity between homogenization temperatures of fluid inclusions and those estimated from S isotopic compositions of minerals. The hübnerite age (92.3–104.4 Ma) indicates that the Wutong mineralization is likely related to nearby Late Yanshanian (Cretaceous) S-type granites derived from Proterozoic crust. This mineralization event coincides with the last W–Sn mineralization event and the Cretaceous peak of mineralization in the Nanling range.  相似文献

The Sierras Pampeanas orogen, in northwestern Argentina, hosts significant Sn–W mineralization in a variety of mostly epizonal granite stocks emplaced in variably metamorphosed country rocks. The San Blas, Huaco and El Durazno granite stocks in the Sierra de Velasco, the La Quebrada granite in the Sierra de Mazán, the Cerro Colorado granite in the Cerro Negro, and the Los Mudaderos and Sauce Guacho granite stocks in the Sierra de Ancasti, are largely peraluminous (ASI between 1.05 and 1.38) and represent S-type granites, are strongly fractionated (i.e., high Rb–Sr ratio), have a low oxidation state (low Fe2O3/Fe2O3 ratio) and are geotectonically linked to syncollisional magmatism. The U–Pb SHRIMP analyses on zircons from the Cerro Colorado and La Quebrada granites, located in the Cerro Negro and Sierra de Mazán, respectively, revealed ages from Lower Ordovician (Tremadocian) to Carboniferous. All granites display elevated LREE values, low HREE values and negative Eu anomalies. With regards to total REE values, two groups of granite stocks can be recognized. The granites with lower REE contents are highly evolved granites and are related to Sn–W mineralization. The mineralized granites display higher values of Sn, W and Rb, and lower values of Sr and Ba compared to barren granites. These trace element characteristics appear to be diagnostic for Sn–W mineralized granite stocks in the western Sierras Pampeanas. The western Sierras Pampeanas contains locally geochemically evolved Carboniferous granites, which are interpreted to be the main control of significant Sn–W mineralization. The Carboniferous age of western Sierras Pampeanas Sn–W mineralization sets it apart from the Triassic age of the Sn–W mineralization in the Eastern Tin belt of Bolivia.  相似文献
