Serious damage due to soil liquefaction occurred in a wide area of the Tohoku and the Kanto regions in Japan during 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake (MW 9.0). The farthest liquefied site from the epicenter of the 2011 main shock is Ikenouchi, Minamiboso City, whose epicentral distance is approximately 440 km. Evaluation of strong ground motions at Ikenouchi is very important to understand why liquefaction was observed in such a far site. For this purpose, in-situ geotechnical investigations including aftershock observation were carried out at Ikenouchi. Then, the ground motions at Ikenouchi during the 2011 main shock was estimated based on the site-effect substitution method considering the microtremor H/V spectral ratios and the aftershock observation results. Finally, 3-D effective stress analyses were carried out using a FEM code ‘FLIP’ to understand how site-specific characteristics of strong ground motions affected the behavior of the ground including liquefaction. A striking feature of the estimated waveforms at the target site is that the waveforms include a much larger number of cycles compared to the records at permanent observation stations around the target site. Such a site-specific feature of strong ground motions was one of the main causes of the occurrence of liquefaction 440 km away from the epicenter. The result suggests the importance of taking into account not only soil properties but also site-specific characteristics of strong ground motions for a rational assessment of liquefaction for future large earthquakes.  相似文献

Long-period structures(e.g. Isolated structures) tend to produce pseudo-resonance with low frequency components of long-period ground motions, resulting in the increase in damage. Stiffness mutation occurs due to the setback in the upper body of the large chassis structure. In the parts with stiffness mutation, the torsion effect caused by the tower is far greater than that of the chassis itself. In this study, a total of 273 ground motions are collected and then filtered into four types, including the near-field ordinary, near-field pulse, far-field ordinary, and farfield harmonic. An 8-degree(0.2 g) fortified large chassis base-isolated structure is established. Furthermore,ETABS program software is used to conduct nonlinear time history analysis on the isolation and seismic model under bi-directional earthquake ground motions. The comparison results show that the seismic isolation effect of the base-isolated structure under long-period ground motions is worse than that associated with ordinary ground motions when the seismic response reduction rate of the large base floor significantly decreases compared with that of the tower. When the inter-story displacement angle and the displacement of isolation layer of the chassis exceeds the limit of Code for Seismic Design of Buildings(GB 50011-2010), it is recommended to adopt composite seismic isolation technology or add limit devices. Under the condition of long-period ground motions, the baseisolated structure reduces the lateral-torsional coupling effect of the large chassis structure, while the torsion response of large chassis' top layer increases. Under long-period ground motions with the same acceleration peak,the response of the base-isolated structure increases much more than that of the seismic structure and the consideration of this impact is suggested to be added to the Code.  相似文献

We have developed a community velocity model for the Pacific Northwest region from northern California to southern Canada and carried out the first 3D simulation of a Mw 9.0 megathrust earthquake rupturing along the Cascadia subduction zone using a parallel supercomputer. A long-period (<0.5 Hz) source model was designed by mapping the inversion results for the December 26, 2004 Sumatra–Andaman earthquake (Han et al., Science 313(5787):658–662, 2006) onto the Cascadia subduction zone. Representative peak ground velocities for the metropolitan centers of the region include 42 cm/s in the Seattle area and 8–20 cm/s in the Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver, and Portland areas. Combined with an extended duration of the shaking up to 5 min, these long-period ground motions may inflict significant damage on the built environment, in particular on the highrises in downtown Seattle.  相似文献

根据我国川滇地区的地质地貌特征、前人地质资料和2021年漾濞MS6.4地震的震源参数初步反演结果,建立三维速度结构模型,采用三维有限差分法对漾濞地震的长周期地震动进行研究.对实际地震烈度和模拟烈度进行对比,同时在区域附近布置了36个观测点,给出其中6个观测点的三分量速度时程,并给出所有观测点阻尼比为5%的速度反应谱,结果表明:(1)模拟的速度峰值已超过25 cm/s,与实际漾濞地区附近的烈度为8度吻合;(2)受断层滑动分布影响,速度水平分量在西北方向分布范围更广,衰减速度明显慢于东南方向,并且在极震区,东北—西南方向的地震动衰减也较慢.方向性效应对峰值大小及其分布范围的影响显著;(3)观测点速度反应谱的特征周期分布在1~3 s范围内,可能会因为共振效应对区域附近的大型建筑物产生较为严重的破坏.需要对漾濞地震进行进一步研究,以期对漾濞地震的长周期地震动有更为细致的认识.  相似文献

Large earthquakes at shallow depths commonly excite long-period ground motions in distant sedimentary basins, thereby inflicting damage upon large-scale structures. For example, the 2003 Tokachi-oki earthquake, Japan, damaged oil tanks in the Yufutsu Basin, located 250 km from the epicenter. Similar long-range effects were also observed during the 2004 earthquake off Kii Peninsula, Japan. In this study, we present the results of simulations of these earthquakes undertaken using the finite element method (FEM) with a voxel mesh. In addition, to examine whether the 1906 San Francisco earthquake excited long-period ground motions in the Los Angeles-area basins, we performed long-period ground motion simulations of most of the California region. The FEM simulations confirmed the importance of path effects for the development of long-period ground motions.  相似文献

利用汶川地震获得的数字强震记录研究了汶川近场无速度脉冲、近场含速度脉冲和远场(盆地效应)地震动的弹性和弹塑性反应谱,后者包括等延性强度折减系数谱Rμ、等延性位移比谱Cu和等强度折减系数位移比谱CR.与相同场地条件PEER近场无速度脉冲、集集近场含速度脉冲地震动的谱进行了比较.汶川近场含速度脉冲地震动的弹性反应谱在0.2~0.8s周期内明显偏小,而它的弹塑性反应谱在短周期段(0.1 ~0.4 s)与汶川近场无速度脉冲地震动谱差别不大,但等延性强度折减系数谱Ru要大于集集地震含速度脉冲地震动的谱,而等延性位移比谱Cu和等强度折减系数位移比谱CR则小于集集地震动情况,此后随周期增长(至0.6 ~1.Os后)它们都逐渐过渡至与集集地震动的谱相当.汶川远场(盆地效应)地震动的弹性反应谱具有较宽并随周期缓慢增长的平台值和较长的特征周期,可达1.7s及以上.提出了远场(盆地效应)与近场地震动的弹性反应比谱和弹塑性位移比谱的概念.  相似文献

The records of the Tohoku tsunami of March 11, 2011, obtained at the nearest Deep-Ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis (DART) stations and the coastal telemetric recorders of the Russian Tsunami Warning System, are analyzed. Such parameters as tsunami arrival times, heights of the first and maximal waves, and predominant periods are presented. The eyewitness accounts and photographs of tsunami effects are presented. 利用随机振动理论,分别考虑3种地震动随机过程模型,本文对反应谱变异系数及相关问题进行了深入分析。研究结果表明:在一定范围内,地震动模型、场地条件和结构体系阻尼比对结构加速度反应越零率有明显影响,但这三者对反应谱变异系数的量值影响不大。在工程设计中,可以采用白噪声模型按本文给出公式计算反应谱变异系数。  相似文献

本文详细评述了现今常用的几种加速度反应谱与功率谱的转换关系。对于小阻尼单质点体系而言,考虑到输入地震动是一非平稳的随机过程,又由于其传递函数的窄频带滤波特性,它的加速度反应将是一窄频带的非平稳随机过程。对于峰值系数水平的超越不是独立的,而是成群超越。据此本文考虑非平稳效应和对峰值系数水平的成群效应,对前人的转换关系进行了修正,并基于随机振动理论,给出了对工程上常用的频率平稳、强度非平稳的地震;动模型的功率谱和反应谱的转换关系。此转换关系对于长、短持时的地震动记录和反应谱长、短周期部分以及不同阻尼比的反应谱都能给出精度较高的结果。  相似文献

It is demonstrated that the difference in phase content between orthogonal, horizontal, accelerograms can directly influence the effective (band‐limited) torque energy applied to a plan asymmetric structure. This is not the case where a plan asymmetric structure is excited solely by a unidirectional, horizontal, accelerogram ground motion. It is shown that this effective torque energy is well correlated with building torsional (response) acceleration energy and element ductility demands for a broad class of multistorey structures. Nonlinear time‐history analyses employing a database of accelerogram abstracted from USGS are used to quantify the influence of the phase difference content on these building responses. Bias in nonlinear time‐history analyses based on a small sample of accelerograms caused by phase difference content is discussed. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Usually different nonlinear time responses due to earthquake ground motion are distinguished by non-localized spectra, such as the response or power spectra. However, these spectra are often not able to explain the large discrepancy among structural responses caused by different earthquake records. The local spectrum, obtained by the wavelet transform, shows the energy distribution in the time-frequency domain, and helps to understand the very different structural responses. By changing the energy distribution in time of several earthquake records, the effect of energy concentration on the structural nonlinear response is demonstrated. This paper proposes the use of the characteristic peak ground acceleration, which is the peak of the signal constructed by only a few special wavelet components of an earthquake record, to quantify the difference between earthquake records, since this measure indicates the magnitude of the energy concentrated around the fundamental period of a structure.  相似文献

2011年3月11日,日本东北部(Tohoku)太平洋海域发生Mw9.0特大地震.一些国际学术机构用不同的震相和反演方法,计算了大地震的震源机制解.但这些结果存在一定的差异.地球长周期自由振荡的振幅主要依赖于地震矩的大小及地震断层的破裂方式,可以约束地震的震源机制、地震大小及持续时间.本文利用地球自由振荡0S0简正模对Tohoku大地震的震源机制解进行分析和约束.0S0振幅大小与地震断层的倾角(dip)、滑动方向角(slip)、震源深度及地震断层的破裂时间有关.我们利用震源机制解得到大地震后自由振荡模拟值,利用超导重力仪得到自由振荡的高精度重力观测值.二者比较后的结果显示:由GCMT震源机制解得到的0S0振幅与观测值符合较好,而由USGS CMT震源机制解模拟的结果明显大于观测值.2011 Tohoku地震为逆冲型浅源大地震.进一步的分析表明:逆冲型浅源大地震的断层倾角对0S0振幅的影响很大,而滑动方向角以及震源深度对0S0振幅的影响较小.USGS CMT震源机制解中较大的断层倾角是导致其0S0振幅显著偏离观测值的主要原因.  相似文献

In many parts of the world, the repetition of medium–strong intensity earthquake ground motions at brief intervals of time has been observed. The new design philosophies for buildings in seismic areas are based on multi‐level design approaches, which take into account more than a single damageability limit state. According to these approaches, a sequence of seismic actions may produce important consequences on the structural safety. In this paper, the effects of repeated earthquake ground motions on the response of single‐degree‐of‐freedom systems (SDOF) with non‐linear behaviour are analysed. A comparison is performed with the effect of a single seismic event on the originally non‐damaged system for different hysteretic models in terms of pseudo‐acceleration response spectra, behaviour factor q and damage parameters. The elastic–perfect plastic system is the most vulnerable one under repeated earthquake ground motions and is characterized by a strong reduction of the q‐factor. A moment resisting steel frame is analysed as well, showing a reduction of the q‐factor under repeated earthquake ground motions even larger than that of an equivalent SDOF system.
