Many cities and towns in South and Southeast Asia are unsewered, and urban wastewaters are often discharged either directly to the ground or to surface-water canals and channels. This practice can result in widespread contamination of the shallow groundwater. In Hat Yai, southern Thailand, seepage of urban wastewaters has produced substantial deterioration in the quality of the shallow groundwater directly beneath the city. For this reason, the majority of the potable water supply is obtained from groundwater in deeper semi-confined aquifers 30–50 m below the surface. However, downward leakage of shallow groundwater from beneath the city is a significant component of recharge to the deeper aquifer, which has long-term implications for water quality. Results from cored boreholes and shallow nested piezometers are presented. The combination of high organic content of the urban recharge and the shallow depth to the water table has produced strongly reducing conditions in the upper layer and the mobilisation of arsenic. A simple analytical model shows that time scales for downward leakage, from the surface through the upper aquitard to the semi-confined aquifer, are of the order of several decades. 阜阳是安徽省人口最多的市,工农业生产主要取用地下水,总硬度是该市浅层地下水主要超标组分之一。近5年来,该市浅层地下水总硬度平均值呈现缓慢增高的趋势,标准差亦在缓慢增加,近两年总硬度数值间差异明显增大。利用spss软件,分析近年浅层地下水的pH、TDS、总碱度、氯化物与总硬度的相关关系,结果可知:pH、TDS、总碱度、氯化物与总硬度都存在极显著的线性相关关系,其中,仅有pH与总硬度是负相关,其余均为正相关关系,总碱度与总硬度为低度线性相关,TDS、氯化物与总硬度呈中度线性相关。结合阜阳市浅层地下水的埋藏条件、补给来源、监测井的地理位置和地下水开采历史,得出该市浅层地下水总硬度升高主要与人为污染和地下水超采有关,外来的污染物来源主要是农业污染和生活污染。  相似文献

塔里木盆地位于欧亚大陆腹地,远离海洋,地下水是塔里木盆地南缘重要的供水水源,查明该区浅层地下水中碘(I-)的分布及成因至关重要.基于新疆塔里木盆地南缘的民丰县平原区44组浅层地下水水样,综合运用水化学图解法、数理统计法和GIS技术,分析潜水和浅层承压水水化学特征、碘的空间分布及高碘地下水的成因.结果表明:民丰县平原区浅层地下水中碘的富集和贫乏共存;潜水和浅层承压水I-含量范围分别为≤730 μg/L和≤183μg/L,潜水水样中缺碘水、适碘水、高碘水和超高碘水占比分别为19.4%、69.4%、5.6%和5.6%,浅层承压水水样中缺碘水、适碘水和高碘水占比分别为12.5%、75.0%和12.5%,潜水中缺碘水和超高碘水均高于承压水.从山前倾斜平原到细土平原,地下水中I-含量呈明显上升趋势.高碘水和超高碘水水化学类型主要为Cl·SO4-Na型和Cl-Na型.除水文地质条件和偏碱性的地下水环境外,研究区潜水碘主要受强烈的蒸发浓缩作用、第四系全新统沼泽堆积物和矿物溶解沉淀的影响,浅层承压水碘主要受矿物溶解沉淀及还原环境的影响.   相似文献

为开展山西太原盆地的地下水环境保护工作,在GIS平台上利用DRASTIC模型采用地下水位埋深、含水层净补给量、含水层介质、土壤介质、地形、包气带、水力传导系数7个指标评价了盆地浅层孔隙地下水的脆弱性.结果表明:太原市与介休市是盆地内地下水脆弱性最高的地区,同时也是山西省工农业最发达的地区.为解决工农业发展带来的高污染风险性与地下水环境脆弱性这一对明显的矛盾,应加强以上地区的地下水污染防治工作,在开展工作时应坚持"以预防为主,防、治结合"的原则.  相似文献

This study investigated the thermal regime of shallow groundwater in the Turin area (NW Italy), where the large energy demand has motivated a new interest for renewable sources, such as the use of ground-source heat pumps for domestic heating and cooling. The vertical variability of the groundwater temperature between the ground surface and 10–20 m was detected: deeper temperatures were higher than shallow temperatures in spring, while a decrease with depth occurred in autumn. These variations are connected with the heating and cooling cycles of the ground surface due to the seasonal temperature oscillation. Variations below the seasonal oscillation are likely to be connected with the presence of advective heat transport due to the groundwater flow, according to the hydraulic features of a shallow aquifer. Temperature values mostly ranged between 12 and 14 °C in rural areas, while the values were between 14 and 16 °C below the Turin city. This groundwater warming is attributed to a widespread urban heat island phenomenon linked to warmer land surface temperatures in Turin city. Sparse warm outliers are connected with point heat sources and site-specific conditions of land and subsurface use, which may cause the aquifer temperature to rise. A relatively stable temperature below the seasonal fluctuation zone combined with high productivity and legislated limits for deeper groundwater use represent favourable conditions for a large-scale diffusion of groundwater heat pumps within the shallow aquifer. Moreover, this heat surplus should be regarded as a resource for future geothermal installations.  相似文献

岩溶水是北京市重要的战略后备水源,在城市供水方面发挥了重大作用,岩溶水系统划分对于掌握岩溶水资源、合理开发利用岩溶水是至关重要的。本文结合地质构造、地形地貌、水文地质条件,考虑含水岩组的连续性、不同级别地表水分水岭、地质构造的水文地质性质,将北京地区划分为3个一级岩溶水系统、7个二级岩溶水系统、16个三级岩溶水系统。其中隐伏型岩溶水系统无裸露的可溶岩或零星分布,天然资源少,地下水径流方向主要受开采影响,与上覆孔隙水有密切的水力联系。山前型岩溶水系统可溶岩分布于山区和平原,岩溶水天然补给资源丰富,含水层厚度大、分布广,调蓄能力强,开发利用程度高,排泄区有明显的阻水边界,储水能力强。山区型岩溶水系统可溶岩分布于山区,地下水向河谷、低洼处径流,排泄速度快,储存能力差,开采井零星分布,开发利用程度低。  相似文献

The small karstic watershed of Lanmuchang, in a Hg–Tl mineralized area in SW Guizhou Province, China, exhibits an enrichment of toxic Tl in groundwater and related stream water. This affords an excellent demonstration of the natural processes of Tl dispersion, and the resultant impact on the local ecosystem. The distribution of Tl in the water system follows a decreasing concentration pattern from deep groundwater to stream water to shallow groundwater. Tl shows high levels (13–1100 μg/L) in deep groundwater within the Tl-mineralized area, decreasing with distance away from the mineralized area to background levels (0.005 μg/L). The distribution of Tl in the water system is constrained by Tl mineralization, water–rock interactions and hydrogeological conditions. Tl concentrations in waters generally correlate with concentrations of total dissolved solids, sulphate, Ca and pH values, suggesting the contribution of water-rock interactions to water geochemistry. Water–rock interactions are driven by weathering of Tl-bearing sulfides which decreases pH values in groundwater, and by dissolution of limestone enhanced by acid fluids. Tl in stream water in both the base-flow and flood-flow regimes shows higher concentrations than it does in shallow groundwater that serves as the stream's source (mainly springs, dug-well flows and karstic cave waters). Concentrations of Tl in stream water in the flood-flow regime are generally lower than in the base-flow regime due to dilution effects, but those in the waters of mid-stream are almost the same as in the base-flow regime, probably due to contribution from Tl-rich soil water seepage or from acid mine drainage (AMD). Unexpectedly, Tl concentrations in stream water in both regimes are remarkably higher (2–30 fold) downstream than up- and mid-stream. These pronounced increases of Tl concentration are likely caused by unidentified discharges of deep groundwater through fractured zones to the downstream trace. The groundwater-related Tl transfer processes affect the ecosystem through contamination of water supply and arable soil and ultimately the food chain with undoubted risks to human health. Therefore, the results of this study are important for environmental planning and regulations, and will also serve as baseline data for future research on Tl natural dispersion processes.  相似文献

Many cities in developing countries are dependent upon groundwater for water supply. Frequently this groundwater is pumped from semi-confined aquifers in alluvial deposits. These deeper aquifers are often considered to be protected from polluted shallow water by intervening less-permeable layers. However, where groundwater is pumped from a semi-confined aquifer immediately beneath a city, significant induced leakage of contaminated shallow water can occur. This may lead to a serious deterioration of water quality in deeper aquifers in the longer-term. A simple model has been developed which provides insight into the hydraulic controls on water quality in such semi-confined aquifers. The model provides a tool for the initial assessment and prediction of the impact of urbanization on groundwater quality. Also, the model characterizes the key hydrogeological behaviour through a single parameter, here termed the ‘city leakage factor’, which can be used to assess the vulnerability to contamination by leakage. A case study of a city in Thailand illustrates the use of this model.
Résumé Beaucoup de villes des pays en développement dépendent de l’eau souterraine pour leur alimentation en eau. Cette eau souterraine est souvent pompée dans des aquifères alluviaux semi-captifs. Ces aquifères plus profonds sont souvent considérés comme protégés des eaux peu profondes et polluées, grace à des couches intercalaires moins perméables. Cependant, dans le cas où l’eau souterraine est pompée à partir d’un aquifère semi-captif situé directement sous une ville, une drainance importante des eaux peu profondes et polluées peut être induite. Ceci peut entra?ner, à long terme, une détérioration significative de la qualité de l’eau dans les aquifères plus profonds. Un modèle simple a été construit fournissant un aper?u des contr?les hydrauliques agissant sur la qualité de l’eau dans des aquifères semi-captifs. Ce modèle est un outil permettant d’évaluer l’état initial et de prédire l’impact de l’urbanisation sur la qualité de l’eau souterraine. Le modèle caractérise également les comportements hydrogéologiques majeurs à travers un unique paramètre, nommé dans cette étude facteur de drainance de la ville“, et qui peut être utilisé pour évaluer la vulnérabilité de l’aquifère face à une contamination par drainance. L’étude de cas d’une ville en Tha?lande illustre l’utilisation de ce modèle.

Resumen Muchas ciudades de paises en desarrollo dependen del agua subterránea para el abastecimiento de agua. Frecuentemente el agua subterránea se bombea de acuíferos semi-confinados en depósitos aluviales. Estos acuíferos más profundos se protegen frecuentemente de agua somera contaminada mediante la intervencción de capas menos permeables. Sin embargo, donde el agua subterránea se bombea de un acuífero semi-confinado inmediatamente debajo de una ciudad, pueden ocurrir fugas significativas inducidas de agua somera contaminada. Esto puede conducir a un serio deterioro de calidad de agua en acuíferos más profundos en el largo plazo. Se ha desarrollado un modelo simple el cual aporta idea acerca de los controles hidráulicos en la calidad del agua en tales acuíferos semi-confinados. El modelo aporta una herramienta para la evaluación inicial y predicción del impacto de urbanización en la calidad del agua subterránea. El modelo también caracteriza el comportamiento hidrogeológico clave a traves de un solo parámetro, que aquí se denomina ′factor de fuga de la ciudad′el cual puede usarse para evaluar la vulnerabilidad a la contaminación por fuga. El uso de este modelo se ilustra con un estudio de caso de una ciudad en Tailandia.

通过对1720个水质分析样品资料的深入分析与计算,系统地评价了洞庭湖区浅层地下水质量,指出了浅层地下水安全供水方向,并提出了安全供水措施及建议。计算结果认为,洞庭湖区浅层地下水中的污染因子主要为Fe、Mn、PH、NH4-N及NO2-N,其次为NO3-N、Be、COD,共8个因子,基本上没有遭受重金属污染;湖区浅层地下水水质整体较好,以优质水为主,占39.37%,合格水占26.04%;不合格水(较差水)占34.59%。  相似文献

研究目的】查明防城港地区浅层偏酸性地下水时空分布、成因及环境影响。【研究方法】于2013—2015年间进行了浅层地下水pH值现场测试,枯水期214组,丰水期168组;讨论了其时空分布特征、成因和生态影响。【研究结果】结果表明,丰水期和枯水期偏酸性(pH <6.5)地下水样分别占79.3%和64.3%,pH值总体上丰水期低于枯水期。地下水pH值在低山区(均在5≤pH<5.5范围,平均值5.18,n=4)<丘陵区(大多数5≤pH<6.5,平均值5.18,n=202)<平原区(大多数6.5≤pH<8.5,平均值6.77,n=8)。【结论】偏酸性地下水成因主要与偏酸性大气降水有关,其次与酸性的包气带介质及硫化物矿物的氧化有关。偏酸性大气降水入渗补给是丰水期pH值低于枯水期的主要原因。相比较而言,潮汐作用使得江平地区地下水pH值升高。偏酸性地下水影响饮水安全(研究区枯水期仅20.6%的样品pH值符合生活饮用水标准),促进某些有害组分的释放,腐蚀地下管网和建筑桩基等设施。偏酸性地下水向地表水排泄亦可对地表水环境和地表生态系统产生影响。本研究有助于研究区水资源管理。创新点:本研究利用地质调查项目数据优势,系统阐述了防城港地区浅层偏酸性地下水时空分布特征;偏酸性地下水的成因与偏酸性大气降水、酸性包气带介质和硫化物矿物氧化有关;偏酸性地下水对人类健康、地下设施和生态环境具有潜在影响。  相似文献

以苏州城区为研究背景,阐述了浅层地温能资源赋存的水文地质条件,分析了地下水源热泵系统应用可能对地下水环境产生的影响,研究得出第Ⅱ承压含水层是该地区地下水源热泵开发利用的理想含水层.在此基础上,采用层次分析法和综合指数法建立适宜性分区标准,将苏州城区地下水源热泵系统应用划分为适宜区、一般适宜区和不适宜区,并进行了分区评价.为苏州城区地下水源热泵系统的合理开发利用和制定地下水环境保护措施等提供了重要依据.  相似文献

High water demand for domestic use in Douala with over 3 million inhabitants is met mainly by shallow groundwater. Field measurements and water sampling in January 2015 were carried out to examine the major controls on the groundwater composition and spatial view of ions in the water, timing of recharge and link between the recharge process and quality of the water. Fifty-two water samples were analysed for major ions and stable hydrogen and oxygen isotopes. Low pH values (3.61–6.92) in the groundwater indicated an acidic aquifer; thus, prone to acidification. The dominant water type was Na–Cl. Nitrate, which exceeded the WHO guide value of 50 mg/l in 22% of the groundwater, poses a health problem. Mass ratios of Cl?/Br? in the water ranged from 54 to 3249 and scattered mostly along the mixing lines between dilute waters, septic-tank effluent and domestic sewage. A majority of the samples, especially the high NO3 ? shallow wells, clustered around the septic-tank effluent-end-member indicating high contamination by seepage from pit latrines; hence, vulnerable to pollution. Stable isotopes in the groundwater indicated its meteoric origin and rapid infiltration after rainfall. The δ18O values showed narrow ranges and overlaps in rivers, springs, open wells and boreholes. These observations depict hydraulic connectivity, good water mixing and a homogeneous aquifer system mainly receiving local direct uniform areal recharge from rainfall. The rapid and diffused recharge favours the leaching of effluent from the pit toilets into the aquifer; hence, the high NO3 ? and Cl? in shallow wells. Silicate weathering, ion exchange and leaching of waste from pit toilets are the dominant controls on the groundwater chemistry. Drilling of deep boreholes is highly recommended for good-quality water supply. However, due the hydraulic connection to the shallow aquifer, geochemical modelling of future effects of such an exploitation of the deeper aquifer should support groundwater management and be ahead of the field actions.  相似文献

A literature review of the impacts of anticipated climate change on unconfined aquifers is presented, along with a conceptual framework for evaluating the complex responses of surface and subsurface hydrology to climate variables in cold regions. The framework offers a way to conceptualize how changes in one component of the system may impact another by delineating the relationships among climate drivers, hydrological responses, and groundwater responses in a straight-forward manner. The model is elaborated in the context of shallow unconfined aquifers in the boreal environment of Finland. In cold conditions, climate change is expected to reduce snow cover and soil frost and increase winter floods. The annual surface water level maximum will occur earlier in spring, and water levels will decrease in summer due to higher evapotranspiration rates. The maximum recharge and groundwater level are expected to occur earlier in the year. Lower groundwater levels are expected in summer due to higher evapotranspiration rates. The flow regimes between shallow unconfined aquifers and surface water may change, affecting water quantity and quality in the surface and groundwater systems.  相似文献

The stable isotopic characteristics were used together with the total chloride to assess changes in groundwater from recharge zones into the carbonate aquifer in an arid environment. The aquifer under study represents a major source of groundwater and thermal springs in Al-Ain city, which are located at the northern part of Jabal Hafit in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The relationship between oxygen and hydrogen isotopic composition of groundwater is established and is described by δD?=?2.2δ18O???9.96. The lower slope and y-intercept of groundwater samples relative to the local meteoric waterline suggests that the isotopic enrichment is due to the evaporation of shallow groundwater after recharge occurs. The majority of the shallow groundwater samples have a negative deuterium excess (d-excess) which might be ascribed to high a degree of evaporation, while most of the groundwater samples from deep wells, have a positive value of d-excess which may be related to a low degree of evaporation. The δ18O values of the thermal waters suggest enrichment towards δ18O of the carbonate rocks because of the exchange with oxygen at higher temperatures. A possible mixing between thermal or hot water and shallow groundwater is evident in some samples as reflected by δD vs. Cl and d-excess vs. δ18O plots.  相似文献

Presence of aggressive chemicals in ground and groundwater can deteriorate concrete foundations or its reinforcements. Concrete codes require preventive measures to assure durability of concrete foundations which is based on geochemistry information of the site. Construction in the city of Rasht, in the Iranian Caspian coast, is fast growing often without sufficient geochemistry data for residential buildings. The later may pose risk of chemical attacks on concrete foundations. To resolve this shortcoming, this study aimed at investigating geochemistry of ground and groundwater from the upper 10 m which can serve as a preliminary guideline for shallow foundation constructions in the city. The database for this study included previous geochemical investigations from 50 boreholes in the city as well as boring eleven test pits at various locations along with soil and groundwater geochemistry tests. The geochemistry experiments included measurement of sulfate, chloride, organic matter, as well as pH in soil and groundwater. Geochemistry of ground and groundwater in the city mostly fell within permissible limits set by a local concrete code. Based on current study, service environment for shallow concrete foundations in the city was categorized in a moderate class; hence, durability requirements from the same local concrete code were emphasized.  相似文献
