Selectivity estimation is crucial for query optimizers choosing an optimal spatial execution plan in a spatial database management system.This paper presents an Annular Bucket spatial histogram(AB histogram)that can estimate the selectivity in finer spatial selection and spatial join operations even when the spatial query has more operators or more joins.The AB histogram is represented as a set of bucket-range,bucket-count value pairs.The bucket-range often covers an annular region like a sin-gle-cell-sized photo frame.The bucket-count is the number of objects whose Minimum Bounding Rectangles(MBRs)fall between outer rectangle and inner rectangle of the bucket-range.Assuming that all MBRs in each a bucket distribute evenly,for every buck-et,we can obtain serial probabilities that satisfy a certain spatial selection or join conditions from the operations’ semantics and the spatial relations between every bucket-range and query ranges.Thus,according to some probability theories,spatial selection or join selectivity can be estimated by the every bucket-count and its probabilities.This paper also shows a way to generate an updated AB histogram from an original AB histogram and those probabilities.Our tests show that the AB histogram not only supports the selectivity estimation of spatial selection or spatial join with "disjoint","intersect","within","contains",and "overlap" operators but also provides an approach to generate a reliable updated histogram whose spatial distribution is close to the distribution of ac-tual query result.  相似文献

 Two iterative vector methods for computing geodetic coordinates (φ, h) from rectangular coordinates (x, y, z) are presented. The methods are conceptually simple, work without modification at any latitude and are easy to program. At present, the modelling of terrain edges from discrete data clouds {x,y,z} is one of the ‘hot topics’ in the processing of laser scanning data. This paper proposes two different methods for the three-dimensional modelling of terrain edges. Common to both methods is the idea to describe the terrain edge as the intersection line of two surface patches zi=z(x,y), i=1,2. The first method is based on numerical integration of a differential equation describing the intersection line. The second method uses the snakes algorithm for the identification of the terrain edge. Both methods are tested for synthetic and real-world data examples, which shows that they are suitable for the practical extraction of edges from laser scanning data.  相似文献

Harmonic maps     
Harmonic maps are generated as a certain class of optimal map projections. For instance, if the distortion energy over a meridian strip of the International Reference Ellipsoid is minimized, we are led to the Laplace–Beltrami vector-valued partial differential equation. Harmonic functions x(L,B), y(L,B) given as functions of ellipsoidal surface parameters of Gauss ellipsoidal longitude L and Gauss ellipsoidal latitude B, as well as x(,q), y(,q) given as functions of relative isometric longitude =LL0 and relative isometric latitude q=QQ0 gauged to a vector-valued boundary condition of special symmetry are constructed. The easting and northing {x(b,),y(b,)} of the new harmonic map is then given. Distortion energy analysis of the new harmonic map is presented, as well as case studies for (1) B[–40°,+40°], L[–31°,+49°], B0= ±30°, L0=9° and (2) B[46°,56°], L{[4.5°, 7.5°]; [7.5°, 10.5°]; [10.5°,13.5°]; [13.5°,16.5°]}, B0= 51°, L0 {6°,9°,12°,15°}.  相似文献

Obtaining spatial similarity degrees among the same objects on multi-scale maps is of importance in map generalization. This paper firstly defines the concepts of ‘map scale change’ and ‘spatial similarity degree’; then it proposes a model for calculating the spatial similarity degree between a river basin network at one scale and its generalized version at another scale. After this, it validates the new model and gets 16 points in the model validation process. The x-coordinate and y-coordinate of each point are map scale change and spatial similarity degree, respectively. Last, a formula for calculating spatial similarity degree taking map scale change as the only variable is obtained by the curve fitting method. The formula along with the model can be used to automate the algorithms for simplifying river basin networks.  相似文献

A storage-efficient reconstruction framework for cartographic planar contours is developed. With a smaller number of control points, we aim to calculate the area and perimeter as well as to reconstruct a smooth curve. The input data forms an oriented contour, each control point of which consists of three values: the Cartesian coordinates (x, y) and tangent angle θ. Two types of interpolation methods are developed, one of which is based on an arc spline while the other one is on a cubic Hermite spline. The arc spline-based method reconstructs a G1 continuous curve, with which the exact area and perimeter can be calculated. The benefit of using the Hermite spline-based method is that it can achieve G2 continuity on most control points and can obtain the exact area, whereas the resulting perimeter is approximate. In a numerical experiment for analytically defined curves, more accurate computation of the area and perimeter was achieved with a smaller number of control points. In another experiment using a digital elevation model data, the reconstructed contours were smoother than those by a conventional method.  相似文献

Hyperspectral sensing can provide an effective means for fast and non-destructive estimation of leaf nitrogen (N) status in crop plants. The objectives of this study were to design a new method to extract hyperspectral spectrum information, to explore sensitive spectral bands, suitable bandwidth and best vegetation indices based on precise analysis of ground-based hyperspectral information, and to develop regression models for estimating leaf N accumulation per unit soil area (LNA, g N m−2) in winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Three field experiments were conducted with different N rates and cultivar types in three consecutive growing seasons, and time-course measurements were taken on canopy hyperspectral reflectance and LNA under the various treatments. Then, normalized difference spectral indices (NDSI) and ratio spectral indices (RSI) based on the original spectrum and the first derivative spectrum were constructed within the range of 350–2500 nm, and their relationships with LNA were quantified. The results showed that both LNA and canopy hyperspectral reflectance in wheat changed with varied N rates, with consistent patterns across different cultivars and seasons. The sensitive spectral bands for LNA existed mainly within visible and near infrared regions. The best spectral indices for estimating LNA in wheat were found to be NDSI (R860, R720), RSI (R990, R720), NDSI (FD736, FD526) and RSI (FD725, FD516), and the regression models based on the above four spectral indices were formulated as Y = 26.34x1.887, Y = 5.095x − 6.040, Y = 0.609 e3.008x and Y = 0.388x1.260, respectively, with R2 greater than 0.81. Furthermore, expanding the bandwidth of NDSI (R860, R720) and RSI (R990, R720) from 1 nm to 100 nm at 1 nm interval produced the LNA monitoring models with similar performance within about 33 nm and 23 nm bandwidth, respectively, over which the statistical parameters of the models became less stable. From testing of the derived equations, the model for LNA estimation on NDSI (R860, R720), RSI (R990, R720), NDSI (FD736, FD526) and RSI (FD725, FD516) gave R2 over 0.79 with more satisfactory performance than previously reported models and physical models in wheat. It can be concluded that the present hyperspectral parameters of NDSI (R860, R720), RSI (R990, R720), NDSI (FD736, FD526) and RSI (FD725, FD516) can be reliably used for estimating LNA in winter wheat.  相似文献

辽宁西部大面积的油松(Pinus tabulaeformis)人工林长期受到油松毛虫(Dendrolimus tabulaeformis)的危害,通过遥感技术,可以及时、高效、精准地对此大面积灾害进行监测,并获知地形、气象因子对其的影响。本文利用遥感和地理信息系统(GIS)技术,使用TM、ETM+数据,通过近红外与红光波段反射率的比值RVI,对油松的受灾程度进行了有效监测。前人的研究发现:油松毛虫易在干燥、温暖的环境爆发,本文将监测分类结果与地形、气象数据叠加后,分析发现结果亦与油松毛虫的生物学特性相吻合,由此逆向证明了监测结果的可靠性。通过对影像灰度直方图的分析,发现近红外波段对轻度的虫害敏感;红光波段对重度的虫害敏感。对影响因子的分析发现:油松毛虫在阳坡,坡度缓的地区危害更剧烈;在日照时数长、降雨少、积温低的地区,油松的受灾程度更重。此结论为预测虫害爆发的概率提供了依据。本研究表明:在森林灾害的遥感工作中,利用监测对象的生物生态学特性,可以在实地调查数据不足,难以直接对监测结果进行评价的情况下,判断结果的可靠性。利用此方法,一定程度上可以减少调查的工作量,降低外业的难度。  相似文献

Abstract

While data like HJ-1 CCD images have advantageous spatial characteristics for describing crop properties, the temporal resolution of the data is rather low, which can be easily made worse by cloud contamination. In contrast, although Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) can only achieve a spatial resolution of 250 m in its normalised difference vegetation index (NDVI) product, it has a high temporal resolution, covering the Earth up to multiple times per day. To combine the high spatial resolution and high temporal resolution of different data sources, a new method (Spatial and Temporal Adaptive Vegetation index Fusion Model [STAVFM]) for blending NDVI of different spatial and temporal resolutions to produce high spatial–temporal resolution NDVI datasets was developed based on Spatial and Temporal Adaptive Reflectance Fusion Model (STARFM). STAVFM defines a time window according to the temporal variation of crops, takes crop phenophase into consideration and improves the temporal weighting algorithm. The result showed that the new method can combine the temporal information of MODIS NDVI and spatial difference information of HJ-1 CCD NDVI to generate an NDVI dataset with both high spatial and high temporal resolution. An application of the generated NDVI dataset in crop biomass estimation was provided. An average absolute error of 17.2% was achieved. The estimated winter wheat biomass correlated well with observed biomass (R 2 of 0.876). We conclude that the new dataset will improve the application of crop biomass estimation by describing the crop biomass accumulation in detail. There is potential to apply the approach in many other studies, including crop production estimation, crop growth monitoring and agricultural ecosystem carbon cycle research, which will contribute to the implementation of Digital Earth by describing land surface processes in detail.  相似文献

The present study evaluates the effectiveness and suitability of cover management factors (C factor) generated through different techniques like land use/land cover-based arbitrary value (CLULC), Normalised Different Vegetation Index-based methods CNDVI1 and CNDVI2 and Modified Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index 2-based method (CMSAVI2). The C factors generated using these four methods were tested in the calculation and assessment of annual average soil loss from an upland forested subwatershed in the Baram river basin using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE). The four cover management factor maps generated by this analysis show some variation among the results. The LULC method uses a single arbitrary value for each LULC type mapped in the subwatershed. The other three methods show a range of C values within each mapped LULC type. The effects of these variations were tested in the RUSLE by keeping the factors such as rainfall erosivity (R), soil erodibility (K), slope-length and steepness (LS) constant. The maximum annual average soil loss is 1191 t. ha?1. y?1 based on the CLULC. Soil losses estimated with other three methods are very different compared to those estimated with the CLULC method. The highest calculated soil loss values were 1832, 1674 and 1608 t. ha?1. y?1 in the study area based, respectively, on CNDVI1, CNDVI2 and CMSAVI2 C factors. These maximum values represent the worst pixel scenario values of soil loss in the region. The statistical analysis performed indicates different relationship between the parameters and suggests the acceptance of the methodology based on CNDVI2 for the study area, instead of a single value method such as CLULC. Among the other two methods, the CMSAVI2 was found to be more consistent than the CNDVI1 method, but both methods lead to over-prediction of annual soil loss rate and therefore need to be reconsidered before applied in the RUSLE.  相似文献

现有密集匹配点云数据已实现了地表3维信息的精细化表达,然而由于误匹配,此类点云往往包含一定数量粗差点并影响后续应用的处理效果。针对此类数据中误匹配所产生粗差点的剔除问题,将变差甬数引入移动最小二乘(MLS)粗差剔除算法。变差函数对MLS拟合区域内点对间的相关性进行估算,以此为依据设置权值对最小二乘的结果进行优化;然后利用MLS局部、分区域地对点云进行曲面拟合;最终根据拟合结果剔除粗差。利用A3数字测图系统生成的城区、山区密集点云数据进行实验,并将处理结果、等权MLS处理结果与人工剔除结果进行对比。实验结果表明该算法可有效对点云中的粗差进行剔除,相较于等权MLS粗差剔除算法,陔算法在城区、山区的误判率分别降低了5.16%和1.31%。  相似文献

Applying a one-step integrated process, i.e. by simultaneously processing all data and determining all satellite orbits involved, a Terrestrial Reference Frame (TRF) consisting of a geometric as well as a dynamic part has been determined at the observation level using the EPOS-OC software of Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum. The satellite systems involved comprise the Global Positioning System (GPS) as well as the twin GRACE spacecrafts. Applying a novel approach, the inherent datum defect has been overcome empirically. In order not to rely on theoretical assumptions this is done by carrying out the TRF estimation based on simulated observations and using the associated satellite orbits as background truth. The datum defect is identified here as the total of all three translations as well as the rotation about the z-axis of the ground station network leading to a rank-deficient estimation problem. To rectify this singularity, datum constraints comprising no-net translation (NNT) conditions in x, y, and z as well as a no-net rotation (NNR) condition about the z-axis are imposed. Thus minimally constrained, the TRF solution covers a time span of roughly a year with daily resolution. For the geometric part the focus is put on Helmert transformations between the a priori and the estimated sets of ground station positions, and the dynamic part is represented by gravity field coefficients of degree one and two. The results of a reference solution reveal the TRF parameters to be estimated reliably with high precision. Moreover, carrying out a comparable two-step approach using the same data and models leads to parameters and observational residuals of worse quality. A validation w.r.t. external sources shows the dynamic origin to coincide at a level of 5 mm or better in x and y, and mostly better than 15 mm in z. Comparing the derived GPS orbits to IGS final orbits as well as analysing the SLR residuals for the GRACE satellites reveals an orbit quality on the few cm level. Additional TRF test solutions demonstrate that K-Band Range-Rate observations between both GRACE spacecrafts are crucial for accurately estimating the dynamic frame’s orientation, and reveal the importance of the NNT- and NNR-conditions imposed for estimating the components of the dynamic geocenter.  相似文献

Abstract

This study investigated the effects of some physicochemical properties of sediments on the accumulation of heavy metals in portions of the Musa creek coasts (Jafari and Petrochemical creeks). Effective properties such as pH, EC, texture, GS, γd, n, CaCO3 and OM were determined. All variables showed a normal distribution and general trends of NW–SE and NE–SW. After detrending the variables, ordinary kriging was used for modelling. The C0/σ2, C0/σ2, and search radius criteria were used to select the best semivariogram. All the variables displayed a spatial structure with different intensities. The IDW method was also used for estimation. The cross-validation showed that the results of both IDW and kriging methods are almost similar. Distribution of the sand particle, GS, n and OM decreases with distance from the waterways, whilst clay–silt deposits. In the center of the studied area, CaCO3 has the highest value and EC has the lowest value.  相似文献

A time dependent amplitude model was proposed for the analysis and prediction of polar motion time series. The formulation was implemented to analyze part of the new combined solution, EOP (IERS) C 04, daily polar motion time series of 14 years length using a statistical model with first order autoregressive disturbances. A new solution approach, where the serial correlations of the disturbances are eliminated by sequentially differencing the measurements, was used to estimate the model parameters using weighted least squares. The new model parsimoniously represents the 14-year time series with 0.5 mas rms fit, close to the reported 0.1 mas observed pole position precisions for the x and y components. The model can also predict 6 months into the future with less than 4 mas rms prediction error for both polar motion components, and down to sub mas for one-step ahead prediction as validated using a set of daily time series data that are not used in the estimation. This study is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Urho Uotila (1923–2006) whose teaching of “Adjustment Computations” over the years influenced so much, so many of us who had the privilege of being his students.  相似文献

Global and local spatial autocorrelation in bounded regular tessellations   总被引:3,自引:1,他引:2  
This paper systematically investigates spatially autocorrelated patterns and the behaviour of their associated test statistic Moran's I in three bounded regular tessellations. These regular tessellations consist of triangles, squares, and hexagons, each of increasing size (n=64; 256; 1024). These tesselations can be downloaded at http://geo-www.sbs.ohio-state.edu/faculty/tiefelsdorf/regspastruc/ in several GIS formats. The selection of squares is particularly motivated by their use in raster based GIS and remote sensing. In contrast, because of topological correspondences, the hexagons serve as excellent proxy tessellations for empirical maps in vector based GIS. For all three tessellations, the distributional characteristics and the feasibility of the normal approximation are examined for global Moran's I, Moran's I (k) associated with higher order spatial lags, and local Moran's I i. A set of eigenvectors can be generated for each tessellation and their spatial patterns can be mapped. These eigenvectors can be used as proxy variables to overcome spatial autocorrelation in regression models. The particularities and similarities in the spatial patterns of these eigenvectors are discussed. The results indicate that [i] the normal approximation for Moran's I is not always feasible; [ii] the three tessellations induce different distributional characteristics of Moran's I, and [iii] different spatial patterns of eigenvectors are associated with the three tessellations.
