The Sitnikov configuration is a special case of the restricted three-body problem where the two primaries are of equal masses and the third body of a negligible mass moves along a straight line perpendicular to the orbital plane of the primaries and passes through their center of mass. It may serve as a toy model in dynamical astronomy, and can be used to study the three-dimensional orbits in more applicable cases of the classical three-body problem. The present paper concerns the straight-line oscillations of the Sitnikov family of the photogravitational circular restricted three-body problem as well as the associated families of three-dimensional periodic orbits. From the stability analysis of the Sitnikov family and by using appropriate correctors we have computed accurately 49 critical orbits at which families of 3D periodic orbits of the same period bifurcate. All these families have been computed in both cases of equal and non-equal primaries, and consist entirely of unstable orbits. They all terminate with coplanar periodic orbits. We have also found 35 critical orbits at which period doubling bifurcations occur. Several families of 3D periodic orbits bifurcating at these critical Sitnikov orbits have also been given. These families contain stable parts and close upon themselves containing no coplanar orbits.  相似文献

Resonance effects on satellite orbits due to tesseral harmonics in the potential field have been studied by many authors. Most of these studies have been restricted to nearly circular 24-hour orbits and to the deep resonance regime, where there is exact commensurability between earth rotation and orbit period. Resonance effects have also been noted, however, on eccentric synchronous and subsynchronous orbits and on orbits with far from commensurate periods. These have received much less attention; the object of this paper is to study the whole spectrum of orbits with respect to resonance effects.  相似文献

A numerical procedure to systematically find collision orbits in the planar three-body problem has been developed in the preceding paper (Tanikawa et al., 1995). Using this procedure, a search for binary and triple collision orbits has been carried out in the free-fall three-body problem. Some detailed structures of a part of the initial value space are discussed. Various interesting orbits have been found. Examples are oscillatory orbits in which ejected particles change from ejection to ejection, and orbits which are not isosceles initially but nearly isosceles after escape. Some results of isosceles problems (Simó and Martínez, 1988) are extended to non-isosceles problems. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

There is a very large number of small bodies in the Solar System and their orbits are varied and complicated. Some types of orbits and events are so rare that they occur in numerical simulations only when millions or billions of orbits have been calculated. In order to study these orbits or events an efficient Monte Carlo simulation is useful. Here we describe a new Monte Carlo simulation method and test it against some existing simulations of orbits of small bodies which have been obtained by different methods. We find good agreement with many earlier calculations, and study briefly the possibility of the Oort Cloud capture origin of short period comets. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Numerical integrations have been performed for orbits of Venus', Earth's and Mars' Trojan-asteroid test particles in a self consistent model of the solar system to study the stability of inclined Trojan orbits. In the case of Mars low inclination orbits tend to be unstable while the contrary seems to apply to Venus and Earth, although the stability of some very high inclination orbits may not be excluded on the basis of these computations.  相似文献

Message and Taylor (1978) have given values of the mean eccentricities and commen-surabilities which correspond to bifurcation orbits of families of symmetric periodic orbits with families of asymmetric periodic orbits in the limit as the mass ratio tends to zero. These bifurcations have been given in a way that they seem to be isolated and unrelated from the whole structure of the periodic orbits of the system. In this paper a numerical investigation of the horizontal stability of the family I and its branches reveals the above bifurcations orbits in the Sun-Jupiter case of the restricted three-body problem and associates these orbits with the whole structure of the system, giving extensive information on them.  相似文献

We consider the general spatial three body problem and study the dynamics of planetary systems consisting of a star and two planets which evolve into 2/1 mean motion resonance and into inclined orbits. Our study is focused on the periodic orbits of the system given in a suitable rotating frame. The stability of periodic orbits characterize the evolution of any planetary system with initial conditions in their vicinity. Stable periodic orbits are associated with long term regular evolution, while unstable periodic orbits are surrounded by regions of chaotic motion. We compute many families of symmetric periodic orbits by applying two schemes of analytical continuation. In the first scheme, we start from the 2/1 (or 1/2) resonant periodic orbits of the restricted problem and in the second scheme, we start from vertical critical periodic orbits of the general planar problem. Most of the periodic orbits are unstable, but many stable periodic orbits have been, also, found with mutual inclination up to 50?–60?, which may be related with the existence of real planetary systems.  相似文献

The hyperbolic meteor orbits among the 4,581 photographic and 62,906 radar meteors of the IAU MDC have been analysed using statistical methods. It was shown that the vast majority of hyperbolic orbits has been caused by the dispersion of determined velocities. The large proportion of hyperbolic orbits among the known meteor showers strongly suggests the hyperbolicity of the meteors is not real. The number of apparent hyperbolic orbits increases inversely proportional to the difference between the mean heliocentric velocity of meteor shower and the parabolic velocity limit. The number of hyperbolic meteors in the investigated catalogues does not, in any case, represent the number of interstellar meteors in observational data. The apparent hyperbolicity of these orbits is caused by a high spread in velocity determination, shifting a part of the data through the parabolic limit.  相似文献

In the case of the restricted three-body problem with small mass parameter a family of plane symmetric periodic orbits of the direct type around the large primary is found to have branches of three-dimensional periodic orbits. One such branch has been established consisting of stable orbits for small deviations from the plane.  相似文献

Numerical evidence is presented which indicates that, although the third integral is tangent to the Hamiltonian (energy integral) along some periodic orbits (as has been shown by Goudas), it is not tangent to it along non-periodic orbits; therefore it is not a function of the Hamiltonian. The set of periodic orbits is probably dense in general, but a given form of the third integral is valid in the neighbourhood of a limited number of them; no form of the third integral is valid for all periodic orbits, except in integrable cases.  相似文献

It has been shown in various papers dealing with systems of colloding bodies in a Keplerian field that the dynamical evolution does not depend only on the initial orbital conditions. This is a consequence of the wide range of orbits generated by the collision process. From the study of a few pairs of orbits we examine what factors which produce that variety of orbits, and search for systematic effects. The role of the positions along the orbits, of inelasticity, of size, of mass and of relative inclination is emphasized.  相似文献

We locate members of an important category of periodic orbits in the Newtonian four-body problem. These systems perform an interplay motion similar to that of the periodic three-body orbit discovered by Schubart. Such orbits, when stable, have been shown to be a key feature and influence on the dynamics of few-body systems. We consider the restricted case where the masses are collinear and are distributed symmetrically about their centre of mass. A family of orbits is generated from the known (three-dimensionally) unstable equal masses case by varying the mass ratio, whilst maintaining the symmetry. The stability of these orbits to perturbation is studied using linear stability analysis, analytical approximation of limiting cases and nonlinear simulation. We answer the natural question: are there any stable periodic orbits of this kind? Three ranges of the mass ratio are found to have stable orbits and three ranges have unstable orbits for three-dimensional motion. The systems closely resemble their three-body counterparts. Here the family of interplay orbits is simpler requiring just one parameter to characterise the mass ratio. Our results provide a further insight into three-body orbits studied previously.  相似文献

Unstable resonant orbits in the circular restricted three-body problem have increasingly been used for trajectory design using optimization and invariant manifold techniques. In this study, several methods for computing these unstable resonant orbits are explored including grid searches, flyby maps, and continuation. Families of orbits are computed focusing on orbits with multiple loops near the secondary in the Jupiter–Europa system, and their characteristics are explored. Different parameters such as period and stability are examined for each set of resonant orbits, and the continuation of several specific orbits is explored in more detail.  相似文献

The motion of a satellite around a planet can be studied by the Hill model, which is a modification of the restricted three body problem pertaining to motion of a satellite around a planet. Although the dynamics of the circular Hill model has been extensively studied in the literature, only few results about the dynamics of the elliptic model were known up to now, namely the equations of motion and few unstable families of periodic orbits. In the present study we extend these results by computing a large set of families of periodic orbits and their linear stability and classify them according to their resonance condition. Although most of them are unstable, we were able to find a considerable number of stable ones. By computing appropriate maps of dynamical stability, we study the effect of the planetary eccentricity on the stability of satellite orbits. We see that, even for large values of the planetary eccentricity, regular orbits can be found in the vicinity of stable periodic orbits. The majority of irregular orbits are escape orbits.  相似文献

Sequences of periodic, consecutive-collision orbits in the restricted problem of three bodies have been found for cases where the two primaries are not of equal mass. Each sequence is imbedded in a family of consecutive-collision orbits. There seems to be an infinite number of such families and an infinite number of members in each sequence. Some of the orbits are shown graphically.  相似文献

The computation of translunar Halo orbits of the real Earth–Moon system (REMS) has been an open problem for a long time, but now, it is possible to compute Halo orbits of the REMS in a systematic way. In this paper, we describe the method used for the numerical computation of Halo orbits for a time span longer than 41 years. Halo orbits of the REMS are computed from quasi-periodic Halo orbits of the quasi-bicircular problem (QBCP). The QBCP is a model for the dynamics of a spacecraft in the Earth–Moon–Sun system. It is a Hamiltonian system with three degrees of freedom and depending periodically on time. In this model, Earth, Moon and Sun are moving in a self-consistent motion close to bicircular. The computed Halo orbits of the REMS are compared with the family of Halo orbits of the QBCP. The results show that the QBCP is a good model to understand the main features of the Halo family of the REMS.  相似文献

Hyperbolic meteor orbits from the catalog of 64,650 meteors observed by the multistation video meteor network located in Japan (SonotaCo 2009) have been investigated with the aim of determining the relation between the frequency of hyperbolic and interstellar meteors. The proportion of hyperbolic meteors in the data decreased significantly (from 11.58% to 3.28%) after a selection of quality orbits, which shows its dependence on the quality of observations. Initially, the hyperbolic orbits were searched for meteors unbound due to planetary perturbation. It was determined that 22 meteors from the 7489 hyperbolic orbits in the catalog (and 2 from the selection of the orbits with the highest quality) had had a close encounter with a planet, none of which, however, produced essential changes in their orbits. Similarly, the fraction of hyperbolic orbits in the data, which could be hyperbolic by reason of a meteor's interstellar origin, was determined to be at most 3.9 × 10?2. From the statistical point of view, the vast majority of hyperbolic meteors in the database have definitely been caused by inaccuracy in the velocity determination. This fact does not necessarily assume great measurement errors, since, especially near the parabolic limit, a small error in the value of the heliocentric velocity of a meteor can create an artificial hyperbolic orbit that does not really exist. The results show that the remaining 96% of meteoroids with apparent hyperbolic orbits belong to the solar system meteoroid population. This is also supported by their high abundance (about 50%) among the meteor showers.  相似文献

Based on numerical calculations of the evolution of asteroid orbits, we concluded in one of our previous papers that a nongravitational effect causing the spatial separation of asteroids with different albedos and with sizes of tens of kilometers could act in the Solar system. To find new arguments, we have analyzed the residuals in the catalogs of asteroid orbits for 1996 and 2006. The dependences pointing to the possibility of a nongravitational effect for orbits with larger residuals have been found to be more distinct than those for orbits with smaller residuals. This result may be considered as an indirect confirmation of the above nongravitational effect.  相似文献

Optimal orbits for Mars atmosphere remote sensing   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Most of the spacecrafts currently around Mars (or planned to reach Mars in the near future) use Sun-synchronous or near-polar orbits. Such orbits offer a very poor sampling of the diurnal cycle. Yet, sampling the diurnal cycle is of key importance to study Mars meteorology and climate. A comprehensive remote sensing data set should have been obtained by the end of the MRO mission, launched in 2005. For later windows, time-varying phenomena should be given the highest priority for remote sensing investigations. We present possible orbits for such missions which provide a rich spatial and temporal sampling with a relatively short repeat cycle (50 sols). After computation and determination of these orbits, said “optimal orbits”, we illustrate our results by tables of sampling and comparison with other orbits.  相似文献

A grid search method aimed at locating ‘all’ doubly symmetric orbits of the three-dimensional restricted problems of one, two, etc. revolutions is developed and applied numerically on the CDC-3300 computer. Three new types of orbits have thus been located and a second order ‘predictorcorrector’ method is applied in order to determine a certain number of members of the families of which the ‘located’ orbits are members. The stability of these members is also discussed.  相似文献
