A finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method for scattering by one-dimensional, rough fluid-fluid interfaces is presented, modifications to the traditional FDTD algorithm are implemented which yield greater accuracy at lower computational cost. These modifications include use of a conformal technique, in which the grid conforms locally to the interface, and a correction for the numerical dispersion inherent to the FDTD algorithm, Numerical results are presented for fluid-fluid cases modeling water-sediment interfaces. Two different roughness spectra, the single-scale Gaussian roughness spectrum and a multiscale modified power-law spectrum, are used. The Gaussian results are calculated as a function of the dimensionless parameters kh and kl, where k is the wavenumber in water, h is the rms surface height, and l is the surface correlation length. For the modified power-law spectrum, statistical parameters consistent with an insonification frequency of 7.5 kHz are used. Results are compared with those obtained using an integral equation technique both for scattering from single-surface realizations and for Monte Carlo averages of scattering from an ensemble of surface realizations. Scattering strengths are calculated as a function of scattering angle for an incident angle of 70° (20° grazing). The results agree well over all scattering angles for the cases examined  相似文献

根据 1 994年 9月 1 8— 30日南沙群岛海域渚碧礁的近海面大气湍流观测实验资料 ,分别计算了该海域光滑海面和粗糙海面上的空气动力粗糙度 (z0 )、中性曳力系数 (CDN)。利用Brutsaert的假定 ,推导了一组求取标量粗糙度 (zT,zQ)、整体输送系数 (感热交换系数CHN、水汽交换系数CEN)的公式。在此基础上分别计算和分析了该海域近海面光滑海面和粗糙海面上z0 ,zT,zQ,CDN,CHN,CEN 及它们关于水平风速u分量的分布 ,并得到了一些有意义的结论。  相似文献

基于区域陆架海水动力-生态耦合模型(COHERENS)中的三维水动力模型,对一个概化的潮汐河口羽状流动力学进行了初步研究。在均一水深和无风的理想条件下,模拟得到了一个潮周期内概化的潮汐河口表层水体:a)羽状流流场和盐度场的平面分布;b)3种不同河流径流量作用下的羽状流流场和盐度场的平面分布;c)4种不同底床粗糙长度下的羽状流流场和盐度场的平面分布。结果分析表明:a)羽状流的长度在潮汐的作用下递增,而其最大宽度近似呈周期性的变化;b)羽状流的长度和最大宽度都随着河流径流量的增大而分别变长和变宽;c)羽状流的长度和最大宽度都随底床粗糙长度的增大而变小;d)无潮情况下羽状流的凸起明显并存在沿岸流,然而在有潮情况下凸起不明显且无沿岸流;e)水平扩散可能限制了沿岸羽状流的发展。  相似文献

海面的曳力系数和空气动力学粗糙度长度是计算海气动量、感热和水汽通量交换必需的参数。基于在“黑格比”和“灿都”台风期间收集的涡动相关系统观测数据, 文章研究了10m风速和摩擦速度之间、10m风速和曳力系数之间、以及10m风速和动力粗糙度长度之间的参数化关系。结果表明: 曳力系数和摩擦速度及10m风速之间存在抛物线关系, 动力粗糙度长度与摩擦速度及10m风速之间存在自然指数关系; 临界摩擦速度为0.83m·s-1, 临界10m级风速为23.69m·s-1。  相似文献

Acoustic scattering of a plane wave incident upon a rough surface over a transition fluid layer within which both the density and sound speed vary with depth is considered. A theory based upon a boundary perturbation method has been applied to a typical seabed environment to study the power spectral density representing the energy distribution of the scattered field over the space. The effects of frequency and roughness properties, including the roughness height, spatial correlation, and power spectrum, on the power spectral density have been investigated. The results demonstrate that the power spectral density of the scattered field depends upon all the aforementioned parameters, particularly the correlation length and the power spectrum of the rough surface, a conclusion in distinct contrast to the results for the coherent field obtained in an earlier study. It was found that the constituents of the rough surface such as the correlation length and wavenumber spectrum dominate the angular distribution of the scattered energy. These results indicate that it is crucial to employ a suitable topological model in the study of rough seabed scattering.  相似文献

A “slip law” connects the excess velocity or “slip” of a wind-blown water surface, relative to the motion in the middle of the mixed layer, to the wind stress, the wind-wave field, and buoyancy flux. An inner layer-outer layer model of the turbulent shear flow in the mixed layer is appropriate, as for a turbulent boundary layer or Ekman layer over a solid surface, allowing, however, for turbulent kinetic energy transfer from the air-side via breaking waves, and for Stokes drift. Asymptotic matching of the velocity distributions in inner and outer portions of the mixed layer yields a slip law of logarithmic form, akin to the drag law of a turbulent boundary layer. The dominant independent variable is the ratio of water-side roughness length to mixed layer depth or turbulent Ekman depth. Convection due to surface cooling is also an important influence, reducing surface slip. Water-side roughness length is a wind-wave property, varying with wind speed similarly to air-side roughness. Slip velocity is typically 20 times water-side friction velocity or 3% of wind speed, varying within a range of about 2 to 4.5%. A linearized model of turbulent kinetic energy distribution shows much higher values near the surface than in a wall layer. Nondimensional dissipation peaks at a value of about eight, a short distance below the surface.  相似文献

Surface waves are the roughness element of the ocean surface, the air-sea interaction processes are influenced by the wave conditions. The dynamic influence of surface waves decays exponentially with distance from the air-water interface. The relevant length scale characterizing the decay rate is the wavelength. The parameterization of drag coefficient and surface roughness can be significantly improved by using wavelength as the reference length scale of atmospheric measurements. The wavelength scaling of drag coefficient and dynamic roughness also receives support from theoretical studies of wind and wave coupling.  相似文献

利用LINUX操作系统下的进程通讯(IPC)技术将中尺度大气模式MM5(V3)与第三代海浪模式WW3进行双向耦合,建立考虑大气-海浪相互作用的风浪耦合模式,在耦合模式中引入3种海表粗糙度参数化方案,通过对一次热带气旋过程的模拟,研究大气-海浪相互作用对热带气旋系统的影响及耦合模式对海表粗糙度参数化方案的敏感性。结果表明:LINUX系统下的进程通讯技术可以方便有效地实现大气和海浪模式的双向耦合,模式运行稳定;耦合模式能够较好的模拟热带气旋的发展和演变过程及其影响下海浪场的分布和演变,模拟结果对海表粗糙度参数化方案较敏感;海浪的反馈作用同时影响了海气间的动力和热力作用过程,不同的海表粗糙度参数化方案下,海浪对两种作用过程不同的影响程度决定了其对气旋系统强度的影响。  相似文献

Micrometeorological measurements in the atmospheric boundary layer over a hilly forest terrain have been made on a meteorological tower at several levels from the forest canopy top to a height that exceeds the height of trees almost seven times. A semiempirical length scale depending on the local topography features and the underlying surface type has been proposed and calculated. This scale has been shown to allow the universal functions of the Monin–Obukhov similarity theory to be corrected for a stable atmospheric boundary layer over complex terrain without substantial modification when compared to the universal functions over a homogeneous surface with small roughness elements. This approach can be used to refine the methods for calculating turbulent momentum fluxes from profile measurements over spatially inhomogeneous landscapes.  相似文献

Experimental studies of the transverse motions induced in a long flexible cable by axial flows have been conducted in a large blowdown water channel. A cable with a diameter of 1.59 cm and a length of 9 m was employed. Experiments were conducted over a fluid velocity range of 4.6-9.1 m/s. Both free and fixed downstream terminations of the cable were utilized, the former simulating a towed cable and the latter a mooring cable. Measurements of the drag coefficient of the cable with the free end were also made. These results were compared with those obtained previously for a flexible cylinder with a smooth exterior surface, and the following conclusions were drawn. 1) The amplitudes of the flow-induced transverse motions in a flexible cable or cylinder with a free downstream end in general decrease with increasing distance from this end, but they exhibit weak dependence on flow velocity and surface roughness near this end. 2) The amplitudes of the flow-induced motions are in general smaller when the cable is fixed at both ends than when the downstream end is free. 3) The drag coefficient of the flexible cylinder or cable increases with increasing surface roughness.  相似文献

Stably stratified turbulent flows over surfaces with explicit roughness elements simulating an urban built-up area have been calculated using an LES model. A method of conducting numerical experiments allowing turbulent flows with specified values of the Obukhov scale L to reach a quasisteady state at the surface has been proposed. It has been shown that, to calculate both temperature and wind-velocity profiles over such objects, one can use the same universal dependences that are used for a flat surface. It has been found that stable stratification does not affect the roughness parameter z 0u and the displacement height D.  相似文献

We discuss the advantages provided by the combined use of a polarization microwave radiometer and a short-pulse radar altimeter for sea roughness monitoring. A brief analysis of the potential of each device taken separately is carried out, which shows the advisability of their combination. The method and the results of the experiment performed with an airborneK-band radiometer and an altimeter are described. It is shown that, in regions of fully developed roughness, a correlation exists between the polarization characteristics of the microwave radiation by the sea surface and the rms sea waveheight as measured by the altimeter. Correlation is not found in regions where the roughness is not developed. Therefore, the combination of the two instruments makes it possible to sense the regions of fully developed sea roughness.  相似文献

This paper is a review of research work with cylinders in steady currents. The emphasis is mainly on cylinders in water, particularly the research undertaken at BHRA and its general application. Comparisons are made with the work of other authors for both water and air flow and over 60 references are reviewed. The mechanisms of flow-excited oscillations are discussed for isolated vertical and inclined cylinders. The effects of length/diameter ratio, cylinder surface roughness and channel blockage are presented. Wake interactions caused by cylinder-cylinder and cylinder-splitter arrangements are detailed. The results of tests with pane and three-dimensional frames are described and quantified in terms of isolated cylinder data.The paper closes with a section describing methods of avoiding oscillations by calculation at the design stage or by the use of clamp-on devices for completed structures in water flow.  相似文献

Wave hydrodynamics over fringing reefs is largely controlled by the reef surface roughness and hydrodynamic forcing. It is believed that climate change will result in a net increase in the water depth over the reef flat, a degrading of the surface roughness of coral reefs and changes in extreme incident wave heights. For an accurate assessment of how climate change affects the safety of reef-fringed coasts, a numerical study of the impact of climate change on irregular wave run-up over reef-fringed coasts was carried out based on a Boussinesq wave model,FUNWAVE-TVD. Validated with experimental data, the present model shows reasonable prediction of irregular wave evolution and run-up height over fringing reefs. Numerical experiments were then implemented based on the anticipated effects of climate change and carried out to investigate the effects of sea level rise, degrading of the reef surface roughness and increase of extreme incident wave height on the irregular wave run-up height over the backreef beach respectively. Variations of run-up components(i.e., spectral characteristics of run-up and mean water level) were examined specifically and discussed to better understand the influencing mechanism of each climate change-related effect on the run-up.  相似文献

本文采用美国国家浮标站(44008)2003年1~3月的资料,通过COARE算法(版本2.6b),比较了O02和TY01这两种海面空气动力粗糙度长度的参数化方案。通过对摩擦速度、拖曳系数、海面粗糙度及风应力等物理因子的计算得出:在粗糙的海面上,TY01和O02两种参数化方案的计算结果是比较一致的。在考虑浪的信息方面,TY01和O02都是很好的参数化方案.它们都可以适用于不同的风速条件,适用于各种尺度的海洋及湖泊。但是这两种方案在处理幼波时存在不连续的缺点。并且,对于风速较小的光滑海面,尽管它们计算的结果较一致,但是仍然存在偏差。据此,本文的结果对于理论分析和数值计算如何正确使用上述两种海面空气动力粗糙度参数化方案,可提供必要的参考价值。  相似文献
