The available photometry mainly from the WASP database was used for the first light curve analysis of eight eclipsing binary systems located in the Lyncis constellation: RV Lyn, AA Lyn, AH Lyn, CD Lyn, CF Lyn, DR Lyn, EK Lyn, and FS Lyn. Most of these eclipsing stars are detached ones, having the orbital periods from 0.54 to 2.3 days. For the systems AA Lyn and CF Lyn a non-negligible third light was detected during the light curve solution. Moreover, 284 new times of minima for these binaries were derived, trying to identify the period variations. For the system CD Lyn a hypothetical third body was detected with the period of about 59 yr.  相似文献

Twenty-one eclipsing binaries were selected for an analysis from a huge database of observations made by the INTEGRAL/OMC camera. The photometric data were processed and analyzed, resulting in a first light-curve study of these neglected eclipsing binaries. In several systems from this sample even their orbital periods have been confirmed or modified. Thirty-two new minima times of these binaries have been derived.  相似文献

Multicolor photometric observations of the W UMa binaries CSS J113505.5+332031, ASAS J142124+1813.1 and HR Boo are presented. They led to improvement of the orbital periods of CSS J113505.5+332031 and HR Boo. The light curve solutions revealed that all the targets are overcontact binaries with moderate fill-out factors whose components are of G and K spectral types. ASAS J142124+1813.1 and HR Boo undergo total eclipses and their mass ratios are well-determined. The small mass ratio of ASAS J142124+1813.1 puts this target in the list of W UMa binaries with extreme low mass ratios. The possible solutions for the partially-eclipsed binary CSS J113505.5+332031 and their precision are discussed in detail. Masses, radii and luminosities of the target components were estimated by our light curve solutions and GAIA distances.  相似文献

We present an orbital solution study for the newly discovered system 1SWASP J080150.03+471433.8 by means of new CCD observations in VRI bands. Our observations were carried out on 25 Feb. 2013 using the Kottamia optical telescope at NRIAG, Egypt. 12. New times of minima were estimated and the observed light curves were analysed using the Wilson–Devinney code. The accepted orbital solution reveals that the primary component of is more massive and hotter than the secondary one by about 30 K. The system is an over-contact one with fillout ratio ∼29% and is located at a distance of about 195 Pc. The evolutionary status of the system is investigated by means of stellar models and empirical data.  相似文献

1SWASP J204932.94-654025.8 (hereafter J2049) is a newly discovered eclipsing binary system with an orbital period of 0.2299103 days. BVRc light curves (LCs) are presented and analyzed by using the 2013 version of the Wilson–Devinney (W–D) program. Because the observed LCs are asymmetric, a hot star-spot was employed on the secondary component during our analysis. We found that J2049 is a W-subtype shallow contact eclipsing binary system with an orbit inclination of 62.69 ± 0.95 and a mass ratio of q =1.326 ± 0.056. More importantly, we found the presence of a strong third light, with an average luminosity contribution of 31.3% of the total light. Based on times of the light minima, the orbital period changes of J2049 are studied for the first time, and there is no evidence for any significant dp/dt now. Considering the presence of the third light and the short time span of the eclipse times, more observations are needed in the future.  相似文献

This study presents an investigation of the orbital period variations of five Algol type binaries, UX Leo, RW Mon, EQ Ori, XZ UMa and AX Vul based on all available minima times. The OC diagrams of all systems exhibit a periodic variation superimposed on a downward parabolic segment. The mass loss due to magnetic braking effect in the cooler components is assumed to account for the parabolic variation with a downward shape, while it is suggested that the light-time effect (LITE) due to an unseen component around the eclipsing binaries explains the tilted sinusoidal changes in their OC diagrams. The orbital period decrease rates for the systems are estimated as approximately between about 0.7 and 2.5 s per century. It is clearly seen that mass loss effect is more dominant than the expected mass transfer for classical Algols in this study. The minimum mass of the probable third bodies around the eclipsing pairs was calculated to be ?0.5 M except for UX Leo, in which it was estimated to be approximately 0.9 M. In order to search for third lights in the light curves of five systems, the V-light curves of the systems were analyzed and their physical and photometric parameters were determined. For UX Leo, a significant third light contribution was determined. We found a very small third light that can be tested using multi-color light curves, for RW Mon, EQ Ori and XZ UMa, while a third light for AX Vul could not be exposed.  相似文献

Photometric observations are presented in V and I bands of six eclipsing binaries at the lower limit of the orbital periods for W UMa stars. Three of them are newly discovered eclipsing systems. The light curve solutions reveal that all shortperiod targets are contact or overcontact binaries and six new binaries are added to the family of short-period systems with estimated parameters. Four binaries have components that are equal in size and a mass ratio near 1. The phase variability shown by the V-I colors of all targets may be explained by lower temperatures on their back surfaces than those on their side surfaces. Five systems exhibit the O'Connell effect that can be modeled by cool spots on the side surfaces of their primary components. The light curves of V1067 Her in 2011 and 2012 are fitted by diametrically opposite spots. Applying the criteria for subdivision of W UMa stars to our targets leads to ambiguous results.  相似文献

We present new photoelectric observations of the eclipsing binary system AB Cas, together with an analysis of the light curves. Using the available times of light minimum reported in the literature together with our own minima, period changes are monitored, and the possible third-body parameters are obtained. The absolute properties of the system and the delta-Scuti behavior of the primary are also discussed.  相似文献

Analyzing available photometry from the Super WASP and other databases, we performed the very first light curve analysis of eight eclipsing binary systems V537 And, GS Boo, AM CrB, V1298 Her, EL Lyn, FW Per, RU Tri, and WW Tri. All of these systems were found to be detached ones of Algol-type, having the orbital periods of the order of days. 722 new times of minima for these binaries were derived and presented, trying to identify the period variations caused by the third bodies in these systems.  相似文献

We present a new multicolor CCD photometry and light curve analysis of two eclipsing binary systems, 1SWASP J133417.80 + 394314.4 and V2790 Orion. The photometric solutions for both binaries were carried out using the updated version of the Wilson– Devinney code. The results showed that first systems is A- type W UMa with mass ratios q = 0.158 while the second system is W- type with q = 3.2. The systems show over contact configuration with fill-out factors of f = 43% and 14% respectively. We calculated the orbital and absolute physical parameters for both systems and investigated their evolutionary state.  相似文献

CCD light curves of the Algol type eclipsing binaries DP Cep, AL Gem, FG Gem, UU Leo, CF Tau and AW Vul were analysed using the Wilson–Devinney code and new geometric and absolute parameters were derived. Due to cyclic apparent orbital period changes of the systems, probably caused by the Light-Time Effect, the contribution of a third light was taken into account in the light curve solution. All the reliable timings of minima found in the literature were used to study the period variations and search for the presence of a tertiary component in the systems. A comparison between the parameters of the third body derived from the light curve and orbital period analyses is also discussed. Moreover, the absolute parameters of the eclipsing binary components were also used to determine their current evolutionary state.  相似文献

In this study we present photometric observations of the eclipsing binary KR Cyg made in 1999 and 2000. The observations of the eclipsing binary KR Cyg have been carried out in B, V and R colours at the Ege University Observatory. A new seasonal light curves are presented. New times of minima and ephemerides are given. Based on a statistical analysis of the times of minima obtained by photoelectric photometry, the orbital period of the system is found to be constant. The photometric mass ratio of the system is well determined. The corresponding light curves were analyzed by the Wilson-Devinney code. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The available photometry from the online databases were used for the first light curve analysis of eight eclipsing binary systems EI Aur, XY Dra, BP Dra, DD Her, VX Lac, WX Lib, RZ Lyn, and TY Tri. All these stars are of Algol-type, having the detached components and the orbital periods from 0.92 to 6.8 days. For the systems EI Aur and BP Dra the large amount of the third light was detected during the light curve solution. Moreover, 468 new times of minima for these binaries were derived, trying to identify the period variations. For the systems XY Dra and VX Lac the third bodies were detected with the periods 17.7, and 49.3 years, respectively.  相似文献

We present the results of searching for new candidates of eclipsing binaries with eccentric orbits in the ASAS Catalog of Variable Stars (ACVS) using publicly available data from the All Sky Automated Survey (ASAS) and the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). Unsupervised machine learning techniques were applied to find anomalies among the light curves of eclipsing binaries. The light curves modeling were performed using JKTEBOP code. The pulsation analysis was done with FAMIAS. We identified 19 new eclipsing binary candidates with non-zero eccentricities in the ACVS, including 10 candidates with eccentricities e ≥ 0.1. Estimates of eccentricities are given. We also report on possible presence of the small-amplitude stellar pulsations at least in two of the reported systems.  相似文献

The first complete light curves of two eclipsing binaries in Camelopardalis, NX Cam and V584 Cam, are here presented together with the new observations of the system NSVS 2643686 obtained in 2014. The light curves were modelled using the latest version of the Wilson-Devinney code. Our results show that all the three systems have an extreme mass ratio q < 0.2, two of them, NX Cam and NSVS 2643686, having the fill-out f > 50%, belong to the class of the so called Deep Low Mass Ratio systems (DLMR) but show different physical characteristics. The two above systems are totally eclipsed binaries with the duration of the secondary eclipse of 87 min for NX Cam and 51 min for NSVS 2643686. The other system, V584 Cam, shows a middle fill-out value of f = 33% and low inclination. Using our Times of Minima (ToM) derived from the observations as well as those found in the literature, the ephemerides of the three systems are here revised. The absolute dimensions are estimated and, from statistical diagram, it is found that all the components of the systems follow the general pattern of the well known W UMa contact binaries.  相似文献

We present the results of our study of the eclipsing binary systems CSS J112237.1+395219,LINEAR 1286561 and LINEAR 2602707 based on new CCD B, V, Rcand Iccomplete light curves. The ultra-short period nature of these stars, as reported by Drake et al., is confirmed and the system's periods are revised. The light curves were modeled using the 2003 version of the Wilson-Devinney code. When necessary, cool spots on the surface of the primary component were introduced to account for asymmetries in the light curves. As a result, we found that CSS J112237.1+395219 is a W UMa type contact binary system belonging to W subclass with a mass ratio of q = 1.61 and a shallow degree of contact of 14.8%where the primary component is hotter than the secondary one by 500 K. LINEAR 1286561 and LINEAR2602707 are detached binary systems with mass ratios q = 3.467 and q = 0.987 respectively. These detached systems are low-mass M-type eclipsing binaries with similar temperatures. The marginal contact,fill-out factor and temperature difference between components of CSS J112237.1+395219 suggest that this system may be at a key evolutionary state predicted by thermal relaxation oscillation(TRO) theory. From the estimated absolute parameters, we conclude that our systems share common properties with other ultrashort period binaries.  相似文献

With the 2013 version of W-D code, we derived the photometric solutions for the new discovered extremely short-period eclipsing binary 1SWASP J024148.62+372848.3 based on its complete RIc light curves. The results show that the system is a W-type overcontact system with a filling-out factor of 23% and a mass ratio of q = 1.23, thus it is a new target which belongs to the rare group of overcontact binary with period under the short period limit (0.22 days). The obviously asymmetries found in its light curves could be explained well by the high spots coverage on the two components which have strong magnetic activities due to their late type nature. A third light contributing about 40% of the total light has been detected during the light curve analysis. This additional component may play an important role in the formation of 1SWASP J024148.62+372848.3, just like those in other overcontact binaries below the limit.  相似文献

We present our observations of the newly discovered, eclipsing cataclysmic star 2MASS J16211735 + 4412541 carried out two weeks after its outburst at the beginning of June 2016. Its main peculiarity is the big increasing of eclipse depth during outburst. We qualitatively modelled the folded light curves at quiescence and outburst in order to explain the reason for increase of the primary luminosity about two hundred times. The light curve fits revealed that such an effect can be reproduced by a flat disc whose radius and temperature are several times bigger than those of the primary at quiescence.  相似文献

SuperWASPJ222302.02+195031.8 is an eclipsing binary with an orbital period about 0.22517657 days that is close to the short-period limit of contact binaries. Multi-color photometric light curves of the short-period binary in B, V, Rc and Ic bands are presented and analyzed by using the Wilson–Devinney (W–D) method. It is discovered that the system is a semi-detached binary where the secondary component is already filling the critical Roche lobe, while the primary is filling just 77.1% of its Roche lobe. The temperature of the primary is about 4300 K, and the temperature difference between the two components is about 500 K. The asymmetries in the light curves are explained by the coverage of stellar dark spots on the less massive component via magnetic activity. An analysis of all available eclipse times suggests that there are no any changes in the O-C diagram. This may indicate that there are no mass transfers between the two components. The semi-detached configuration with the dark spot on the surface of the lobe-filling secondary and no variations in the orbital period make the binary an interesting target for further investigations.  相似文献
