对华北区域的天气气候学研究,有助于理解该区域大气环流场与地面要素场之间的相互联系。利用自组织神经网络算法(SOMs),基于1958—2002年夏季ERA-40日平均海平面气压距平场(MSLPA),对华北区域的海平面气压场进行分型,研究其天气气候特征。36种典型地面环流形势被识别出来,包括强北高南低、强西高东低槽、强西北低东南高和强东部高压西伸4种极端类型,以及它们之间的过渡型。天气型的空间特征分析表明二维自组织图上天气型的对称性体现了华北区域天气气候的一般性特征,而非对称性则体现其独特性。天气型演变特征分析表明高、低压系统越强,或以高压系统活动为主时,华北地区的天气形势相对稳定,反之则转变较快。年际变化分析指示出其中6种天气型出现较明显的年际线性变化趋势。最后,分析天气型相应的降水分布特征,表明区域内不同地区的降水来自不同天气型的影响,地面环流场的细小差别将会造成地面强降水中心位置的较大不同,且地形的影响将进一步放大该差别。上述分析结果采用更完整和更高时间分辨率的资料,定量化地研究华北区域夏季的天气分型特征,拓展其天气气候学研究。研究成果可用于发展客观化的数值模式典型天气过程识别技术,以及作为区域气候情景分析的基础。  相似文献

Abstract

The Purple Crow Lidar (PCL) is a large power-aperture product monostatic laser radar which until 2010 was located at the Delaware Observatory (42°52′N, 81°23′W, 225 m elevation above sea level) near the campus of the University of Western Ontario. It is capable of measuring temperature from 10 to 110 km altitude, as well as water vapour in the troposphere and stratosphere. We use upper tropospheric and stratospheric vibrational Raman N2 backscatter-derived temperatures to form a climatology for the years 1999 to 2007 from 10 to 40 km attitude. The lidar temperatures are validated using nearby radiosonde measurements from Detroit and Buffalo. The measured temperatures show good agreement with the radiosonde soundings. An agreement of ±1 K is found during the summer months and ±2.5 K during the winter months, validating the calibration of the lidar to within the geophysical variability of the measurements. Comparison between the PCL measurements and the Committee on Space Research International Reference Atmosphere, 1986 (CIRA-86) and the Mass Spectrometer Incoherent Scatter-90 (MSIS-90) models show the models are as much as 5 K warmer below 25 km and 2 to 4 K colder above 25 km during the summer months, in large part because the measured tropopause height is consistently lower than in the models.  相似文献

利用高分辨率AVHRR Pathfinder卫星海表温度资料,分析了1982-2012年南海及其毗邻海区海表温度(SST)的变化趋势,并给出了近30年该海域SST的气候学特征。结果表明:南海年平均SST随纬度的增加而降低,且越靠近陆地海温梯度越大,等温线呈西南-东北向分布;南海最高、最低SST分别出现在夏季和冬季;夏季中南半岛和海南岛东侧存在相对低温区,应与西南季风和地转偏向力共同作用引起的深层冷水涌升有关;近30年南海及毗邻海区年平均SST增温趋势为0.100℃/10a,20世纪90年代末到21世纪初年平均SST处于高值期,最高值出现在1998年;南海海区四季均存在变暖趋势,冬季增温趋势最大,为0.194℃/10a,夏、春季次之,分别为0.121℃/10a和0.107℃/10a,秋季最小,为0.086℃/10a;近30年台湾海峡和中国大陆东南沿海增温最显著,最大增温值达到0.7℃/10a以上。  相似文献

We present a dynamical downscaling of the Arctic climatology using a high-resolution implementation of the Polar Weather Research and Forecasting, version 3.6 (WRF3.6) model, with a focus on Arctic cyclone activity. The study period is 1979–2004 and the driving fields are data from the Hadley Centre Global Environmental Model, version 2, with an Earth System component (HadGEM2-ES) simulations. We show that the results from the Polar WRF model provide significantly improved simulations of the frequency, intensity, and size of cyclones compared with the HadGEM2-ES simulations. Polar WRF reproduces the intensity of winter cyclones found in ERA-Interim, the global atmospheric reanalysis produced by the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), and suggests that the average minimum central pressure of the cyclones is about 10?hPa lower than that derived from HadGEM2-ES simulations. Although both models underestimate the frequency of summer Arctic cyclones, Polar WRF simulations suggest there are 10.5% more cyclones per month than do HadGEM2-ES results. Overall, the Polar WRF model captures more intense and smaller cyclones than are obtained in HadGEM2-ES results, in better agreement with the ERA-Interim reanalysis data. Our results also show that the improved simulations of Arctic synoptic weather systems contribute to better simulations of atmospheric surface fields. The Polar WRF model is better able to simulate both the spatial patterns and magnitudes of the ERA-Interim reanalysis data than HadGEM2-ES is; in particular, the latter overestimates the absorbed solar radiation in the Arctic basin by as much as 30?W?m?2 and underestimates longwave radiation by about 10?W?m?2 in summer. Our results suggest that the improved simulations of longwave and solar radiation are partly associated with a better simulation of cloud liquid water content in the Polar WRF model, which is linked to improvements in the simulation of cyclone frequency and intensity and the resulting transient eddy transports of heat and water vapour.  相似文献

The data-collection campaign for the 2008 International Polar Year–Circumpolar Flaw Lead System Study saw the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Amundsen, a research icebreaker, overwinter in high-concentration unconsolidated sea ice in Amundsen Gulf. Environmental monitoring continued into the open-water season. During this period, the Amundsen registered five relatively deep mean sea-level pressure minima (less than 100?kPa). Three were selected for further analysis based on season and the nature of the underlying ocean or sea-ice surface: (1) a winter pressure minimum over unconsolidated sea ice, (2) a spring pressure minimum which likely contributed to the break-up of the sea-ice cover on Amundsen Gulf, and (3) a summer pressure minimum over open water. The characteristics of these pressure minima and the impact of their passage on the atmospheric boundary layer and on the sea-ice cover as they crossed Amundsen Gulf were examined. Several features were revealed by the analysis. (1) The winter and summer pressure minima were migratory cyclones accompanied by Arctic frontal waves with characteristics very similar to the polar frontal waves associated with the migratory cyclones found at more southerly latitudes, whereas the spring pressure minimum was attributed to an Arctic frontal trough of low pressure with the cyclonic centre remaining south of the Gulf. (2) The passage of the frontal-wave cyclone in winter and the frontal trough of low pressure in spring disrupted the equilibrium that had been established during more settled periods between the atmospheric boundary layer and the mosaic surface (leads, polynyas, and sea ice); however, equilibrium was quickly re-established. (3) In summer, the thermal structure of the lower atmospheric boundary layer persisted through the passage of the frontal-wave cyclone over the open-water surface. (4) The passage of the frontal-wave cyclone in winter and the frontal trough of low pressure in spring modified the mesoscale sea-icescape.  相似文献

依据商丘市8个站1961~2004年雾资料,分析了大雾天气的分布和气候变化特征。结果表明:商丘市雾的地理分布是西部睢县至宁陵一带为多雾区,南部柘城至夏邑一带为少雾区。宁陵出现大雾最多,睢县次之,柘城雾日最少。年际变化总体呈上升趋势。月际变化呈“V”型特征,秋冬季雾最多,夏季最少。雾的日变化一般在下半夜到清晨日出前后形成,05:00~06:00最易生成大雾,雾消时间一般在06:00~12:00,日出后07:00~08:00雾最容易消散。最长连雾日一般出现在11至次年1月,而1月出现最长连雾日的次数最多。雾的持续时间3 h以下的短雾最多,12~24 h的最少,没有超过24 h的长雾,连雾时间最长为23.3 h。年最多雾日,宁陵最多为120 d,柘城最少只有32 d,其余各站在40~77 d之间。商丘市雾发生时的地面天气形势主要有大陆高压型、冷锋前暖区型、均压场型和(低压)倒槽型。  相似文献

The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model was used to investigate the role of downward momentum transport in the formation of severe surface winds for a squall line on 3-4 June 2009 across regions of the Henan and Shandong Provinces of China. The results show that there was a strong westerly jet belt with a wind speed greater than 30 m s 1 and a thickness of 5 km at an altitude of 11-16 km. The jet belt was accelerated, and it descended while the squall line convective system occurred. It was found that the appearance of strong negative perturbation pressure accompanied by the squall line caused the acceleration of the upper-level westerly jet and increased the horizontal wind speed by a maximum of 18%. Meanwhile, the negative buoyancy due to the loading, melting, and evaporation of cloud hydrometeors induced the downward momentum transport from the upper levels. The downward momentum transport contributed approximately 70% and the surface cold pool 30% to the formation of severe surface winds.  相似文献

首先对影响北京地区大气污染扩散的地面天气形势进行了分类,然后结合1998-2000年北京南郊观象台的地面、高空资料,重点分析了在各类地面天气形势控制下北京地区局地低空、地面的气象条件特征。发现当低压类地面天气形势控制时,容易引起污染物在北京地区的汇聚和累积。比较各类地面天气形势对二氧化硫(SO2)、二氧化氮(NO)、可吸入颗粒物(PM10)、一氧化碳(CO)浓度的影响,说明同一种天气形势对不同污染的影响程度不同,进一步证实了在低压类地面天气形势控制时,容易出现重污染。  相似文献

全球地面天气报资料是气象资料中数据量最大、使用频率最高的资料之一。国内作为气候资料接收和保存的全球地面天气报资料中包含45个气象要素, 每日4次定时观测资料。利用2005年用于全球地面天气报资料接收、处理实时业务中的质量控制方法, 对保存于国家气象信息中心气象资料室的全球地面天气报历史资料数据集进行了全面的质量检查, 对原数据集中因解码而引起的比较明显的批量错误资料进行了修改, 生成具有质量控制码的二版全球地面天气报历史资料数据集。同时还系统介绍了1980年1月—2003年12月全球地面天气报历史资料数据集质量检查结果, 分析了资料的质量情况。  相似文献

Free tropospheric measurements of ozone, peroxyacetylnitrate andprecursors (CO, NMHC) that were made within the framework of the EUROTRACsub-project TOR (Tropospheric Ozone Research) between 1990 and 1995 at theGAW station Izana, Tenerife (28°18N, 16°30W) arediscussed. The average annual cycles reveal the importance of transport fromnorthern mid-latitudes and the role of photo-chemistry. According toair-mass trajectories, which were supplied to us from AEROCE(Atmosphere/Ocean Chemistry Experiment), transport from northernmid-latitudes is associated with high precursor concentrations in winter,whereas ozone concentrations in winter are not much influenced by transportpatterns, suggesting a rather uniform distribution over the northern part ofthe Northern Hemisphere around mean value of 43 ± 5 ppb. In summer,high ozone concentrations of up to 90 ppb are often encountered duringtransport from north, while the levels of precursors are much lower than inwinter, because of photochemical destruction. Trajectories from southerlylatitudes and the Sahara usually have the lowest ozone concentrationsassociated with them.  相似文献

利用逐小时风速观测资料以及台风年鉴资料,分析了2008~2014年登陆我国大陆地区的51次热带气旋(TC)的地面风场分布特征,包括TC登陆期间大陆地面风场演变和大风分布特征、海岛站和内陆站的风速差异以及海拔对风力造成的影响等。结果表明:6级及以上大风主要发生在距离TC中心300 km内、TC强度达到台风(TY)以上时,并主要位于TC移动方向的右侧,尤其是右前象限;华南区TC风场分布主要由在此区域登陆的TC(Ⅰ类)造成,较大风速区包括广东西南部沿海、雷州半岛附近和海南西部沿岸;华东区TC风场分布主要由在此区域登陆的TC(Ⅱ类)造成,杭州湾出海口以及浙闽沿海是较大风速区;6级及以上大风广泛分布在华南和华东沿海,6~7级地面大风高频站主要位于杭州湾附近,8级及以上地面大风高频站点在杭州湾和福建沿海分布比广东西南部更为密集;TC登陆前后均可能造成大风,大风出现时间与站点至TC中心的距离密切相关;同等强度TC在海岛站造成的风速比陆地站更大,对高海拔站点造成的风力大于低海拔站点。本文研究结论对于TC大陆地面风场的预报具有一定参考价值。  相似文献

利用区域环境集成系统模式对东亚地区进行了1987年1月到1996年12月的长期积分试验,重点考察了区域气候模式对东亚地区区域气候平均状况的模拟能力.结果表明:(1) RIEMS模式能够较好地模拟出不同季节温度的空间分布以及不同区域温度的年变化;同时模式模拟的季和月平均表面大气温度与观测之间偏差大约一般在1~2℃.(2)对于降水来说,RIEMS模式能够较好地模拟降水的季节变化以及空间分布特征;同时,也能够较好地模拟不同区域降水的年变化.就季节而言,模式模拟的冬季降水最好,相对较差的为夏季;同时,模式能够较好地模拟雨带季节性移动,但模拟的雨带较观测的雨带偏北,大约为2~3纬度.(3)RIEMS模式能够模拟出东亚地区观测的湿润和干旱分布规律,但对于西北干旱区较观测偏干.    相似文献

The methods used in an earlier study focusing on the province of Ontario, Canada, were adapted for this current study to expand the study area over eastern Canada where the infrastructure is at risk of being impacted by freezing rain. To estimate possible impacts of climate change on future freezing rain events, a three-step process was used in the study: (1) statistical downscaling, (2) synoptic weather typing, and (3) future projections. A regression-based downscaling approach, constructed using different regression methods for different meteorological variables, was used to downscale the outputs of eight general circulation models to each of 42 hourly observing stations over eastern Canada. Using synoptic weather typing (principal components analysis, a clustering procedure, discriminant function analysis), the freezing rain-related weather types under historical climate (1958–2007) and future downscaled climate conditions (2016–2035, 2046–2065, 2081–2100) were identified for all selected stations. The potential changes in the frequency of future daily freezing rain events can be projected quantitatively by comparing future and historical frequencies of freezing rain-related weather types.

The modelled results show that eastern Canada could experience more freezing rain events late this century during the coldest months (i.e., December to February) than the averaged historical conditions. Conversely, during the warmest months of the study season (i.e., November and April in the southern regions, October in the northern regions), eastern Canada could experience less freezing rain events late this century. The increase in the number of daily freezing rain events in the future for the coldest months is projected to be progressively greater from south to north or from southwest to northeast across eastern Canada. The relative decrease in magnitude of future daily freezing rain events in the warmest months is projected to be much less than the relative increase in magnitude in the coldest months.  相似文献

The authors examine the distribution and varia- tion of carbon monoxide (CO) in the tropics from the sur- face to the lower stratosphere. By analyzing space-borne microwave limb sounder (MLS) measurements, measure- ments of pollution in the troposphere (MOPITT) and mod- em-era retrospective analysis for research and applications (MERRA) meteorological products, and atmospheric chemistry and climate model intercomparison project (ACCMIP) surface emission inventories, the influences of atmospheric dynamics and surface emissions are investi- gated. The results show that there are four centers of highly concentrated CO mixing ratio over tropical areas in differ- ent seasons: two in the Northern Hemisphere and another two in the Southern Hemisphere. All of these centers cor- respond to local deep convective systems and mon- soons/anticyclones. The authors suggest that both deep convections and anticyclones affect CO in the tropical tro- posphere and lower stratosphere--the former helping to transport CO from the lower to the middle troposphere (or even higher), and the dynamical uplift and isolation effects of the latter helping to build up highly concentrated CO in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (UTLS). Similarly, there are two annual surface emission peaks in- duced by biomass burning emissions: one from the North- ern Hemisphere and the other from the Southern Hemi- sphere. Both contribute to the highly concentrated CO mixing ratio and control the seasonal variabilities of CO in the UTLS, combining the effects of deep convections and monsoons. Results also show a relatively steady emission rate from anthropogenic sources, with a small increase mainly coming from Southeast Asia and lndia. These emis- sions can be transported to the UTLS over Tibet by the joint effort of surface horizontal winds, deep convections, and the Asian summer monsoon system.  相似文献

1999年夏季,中国首次组织北极地区科学考察.分析此次考察中楚克奇海海域上空获得的大气结构和臭氧探空资料,结合臭氧总量观测光谱仪(TOMS)臭氧总量和NCEP大气环流资料,指出:考察期间楚克奇海海域上空臭氧总量与13 km以下臭氧含量关系密切,而在20 km附近最大臭氧浓度处的臭氧变化与大气臭氧总量关系较差,表明整层臭氧总量的变化主要受低层大气臭氧变化的影响.大气臭氧总量呈高-低-高变化,对流层顶高度呈低-高-低变化,分析500hPa高度场表明:考察期间的天气系统可能是造成局地臭氧变化的主要原因.  相似文献

Consideration of the dependence of various components of the sea-surface heat and momentum fluxes on sea surface temperature (SST) leads to an explanation for the observed reduction in the horizontal temperature gradients in the uppermost layer of the ocean (a few to 10 m in depth). Horizontal temperature gradients within the mixed layer can be masked by a near-surface layer of warm water. This camouflage of horizontal temperature gradients has importance for the remote sensing of SST used by the fishing industry, for the estimation of acoustic transmission, and for the forecasting of hurricane development, among many uses of SST data. Diurnal warming conditions in the Straits of Florida are examined by a simulation calculation and by analysis of observations obtained on moorings deployed on the south-east Florida shelf. When there is net heating (i.e., the solar input is stronger than the combined latent, sensible and longwave radiative heat losses) the originally warmer water experiences less heating than the colder water, leading to a weakening of the horizontal SST gradients as seen by surface buoys or satellites. The warmer water also experiences more mixing and therefore less increase in temperature. The strongest effect of the diurnal heating on wind stress occurs when the SST starts out cooler than the air temperature and the atmosphere is stably stratified. Diurnal warming can then rapidly increase the SST above the air temperature because of reduced wind stress and reduced upper-ocean mixing. After that the wind stress increases as convectively driven turbulence contributes to the atmospheric exchange.  相似文献
