In this paper, a two-dimensional and steady-state numerical model of the planetary boundary layer is developed. It includes the horizontal deformation of the eddy exchange coefficients and horizontal turbulence exchange. The difference between the structure of the heat island and cold island is analysed using this model.  相似文献

In considering the weak non-linear effect, and using the small parameter expansion method, the analyt-ical expressions of the wind distribution within PBL (planetary boundary layer) and the vertical velocity at the top of the PBL are obtained when the PBL is divided into three layers and different eddy transfer coefficients K are adopted for the three layers. The conditions of barotropy and neutrality for the PBL are extended to that of baroclinity and non-neutral stratification. An example of a steady circular vortex is used to display the characteristics of the horizontal wind within the PBL and the vertical velocity at the top of the PBL. Some new results have been obtained, indicating that the magnitude of the speed in the lower height calculated by the present model is larger than that by the model in which k is a constant within the whole boundary layer, for example, in the classical Ekman boundary layer model and the model by Wu (1984). The angle between the wind at the top of the PBL and the wind near the surface calculated by the present model is less than that calculated by the single K model. 利用WRF模式结合不同的边界层参数化方案,对2007年7月3—5日发生在江淮流域的一次梅雨锋暴雨过程进行多组数值模拟试验。结果发现,边界层方案的选取对于降水的落区和强度模拟会产生较显著的影响;在降水率及地面要素的模拟上,各方案在降水中后期的模拟差异明显大于降水发生阶段;不同边界层方案的选取对于降水时段内的水平风场、垂直运动和假相当位温的垂直分布都产生影响,直接影响降水时空分布的模拟;不同方案都模拟出了在降水发生之后不同于晴空日变化的湍流动能垂直分布,经分析发现与局地较强的垂直风切变和近地面强湍流气团被抬升有关,而浮力项起着耗散作用;各方案的湍流交换特征与湍流动能特征基本吻合,相比于其他方案,MYJ方案在降水区域的湍流动能及湍流交换强度明显偏弱,对热通量的输送也偏弱;GBM方案在边界层内的湍流混合偏弱而在边界层以上湍流混合显著偏强,热通量输送在边界层以上的高度上误差明显,影响了对降水区域气象要素的模拟能力,仍需要进一步改进。   相似文献

The eddy viscosity is a fourth-order tensor in three-dimensional space. When considering the viscous effects on the horizontal velocities in the vertical direction it is reduced to a second-order tensor in two-dimensional space, and is not necessarily horizontally isotropic. Anisotropic coherent structures (rolls) are a conspicuous feature of the planetary boundary layer. There is no reason to suppose that they should give rise to a horizontally isotropic eddy viscosity. The effects of an anisotropic constant eddy viscosity tensor on the Ekman layer dynamics is determined analytically. The shape of the Ekman spiral is modified. The magnitude of the bottom shear and the Ekman transport is changed in magnitude and rotated within an angle of 90°.  相似文献

在边界层动力学中,涡动粘性系数是影响边界层风场结构的一个重要参数。本文利用边界层动力学中的Ekman动量近似理论,给出了涡动粘性系数随高度缓变条件下的Ekman动量近似边界层模式解,着重讨论了边界层的风场结构、水平散度、垂直涡度以及边界层顶部的垂直速度。结果分析表明:与常值涡动粘性系数情况相比,在边界层低层随高度增加的涡动粘性系数可以导致低层边界层风速随高度迅速增加,即风速垂直切变增加,同时风速矢与地转风之间的夹角减小。惯性项作用可以导致上述作用在气旋性区域减小、而在反气旋性区域增大。随高度增加的涡动粘性系数导致水平散度绝对值、垂直涡度绝对值以及边界层顶部的垂直速度绝对值在气旋性区域减小,而在反气性旋区域增大。涡动粘性系数与惯性之间的非线性相互作用是边界层动力学中重要过程。  相似文献

采用与实测较接近的二次函数来表达Ekman层中的湍流粘性系数K,在圆形气压场条件下,求得了山地上空边界层中的风速,进而求得散度、涡度和垂直速度等场变量随高度的分布。并作图分析了这些场变量的一些动力学特征。改进了以往在求解析解时,略去运动方程中湍流粘性力项中的关于高度的一阶导数项,以及取山坡面上风速为零作下边界条件等欠合理欠精确的做法。所求得的风速、散度、涡度和垂直速度均用简单的初等函数表示出来,有助于边界层参数化和深化对边界层动力学的认识。  相似文献

目前,气候和大气边界层物理研究中一个十分重要的研究方向就是面积平均通量的参数化问题。本文对这一研究方向中存在的问题、可能的解决方法和目前的研究进展情况进行了阐述,简要介绍了非均匀陆面影响的高度及其尺度划分,阐述了混合高度、参考层高度(观测高度和模式第一层高度)、近地层高度、内边界层高度、平衡层高度、粗糙度副层和边界层高度等之间的关系及其在非均匀尺度划分中的作用,并且阐述了整体输送公式在不同尺度的非均匀陆面中存在的问题及相应的可能解决办法。同时还对中尺度的非均匀陆面驱动的一类非经典中尺度环流的参数化,即中尺度通量的参数化问题进行了评述。最后针对内蒙古草原实验和青藏高原实验等具体问题,提出了边界层观测和非均匀陆面参数化方法的几点问题。  相似文献

Large eddy simulation has encountered difficulties in handling turbulence in the atmospheric surface layer due to deficiencies in sub-grid scale models. This paper addresses the possibility of resolving the turbulence in the upper part of the surface layer by a low-aspect ratio of grid spacing. Results show that resolved-scale shear stresses dominate over the sub-grid scale components so that effects due to the sub-grid scale model can be ignored in this region. The effects of the lower boundary condition on the resolved-scale turbulence in the upper part of the surface layer are discussed. It is concluded that the normalized mean velocity shear and resolved turbulence in the upper part of the surface layer are not affected by the specification of the lower boundary condition. In addition, the present work proposes a new independent model parameter, the Smagorinsky Reynolds Number (ReSM), and demonstrates that this number determines the resolved turbulence in the upper part of the surface layer.  相似文献

Wakes well downstream of obstacles in the neutrally stratified atmospheric boundary layer are studied using numerical models with eddy viscosity and mixing-length closure hypotheses. Variations of eddy viscosity with height near the ground are shown to exert a strong influence on the rates of wake decay. In the planetary boundary layer, it is shown that a significant proportion of the initial momentum flux deficit in the wake can be balanced by changes in the Coriolis force.  相似文献

在区域酸沉积模式(RADM)基础上,设计了一个高分辨对流层(TL)物质交换模式(EM3)。EM3在以下五个方面明显不同于RADM:第一,增加行星边界层(PBL)的垂直网格层次;第二、TL内考虑分层的垂直涡旋扩散系数型;第三,使用TL内分层的水平涡旋扩散系数型;第四,采用包含有植物冠层垂直结构影响的新干沉积速度型;第五,使用数值扩散小的二阶矩守恒平流格式.用EM3和RADM对OSCAR Ⅳ实例作对比模拟,结果表明EM3能更好地预测出TL内的三维物质分布规律,在同样条件下,两模式预测的PBL低层中心浓度比值均大于1.8,最大值可大于3。  相似文献

A limited-area seven-layer physical-numerical model for the lower tropospheric region (surface - 1600m) is described. The grid interval, approximately 190km, is half that of the standard numerical weather-prediction grid used in the hemispheric free atmospheric operational model at the Air Force Global Weather Central (AFGWC). This model is an integral part of the complete AFGWC meso-scale (sub-synoptic) numerical analysis and prediction system and is used to provide greater horizontal and vertical resolution in both numerical analyses and forecasts.Important features of this boundary-layer model include: a completely automated objective analysis of input data; the transport of heat and moisture by three-dimensional wind flow; latent heat exchange in water substance phase changes; and eddy fluxes of heat and water vapor.Input data are conventional synoptic surface and upper air reports. Other operational AFGWC prediction models provide input in the form of horizontal wind components at the upper boundary and an estimate of cloudiness above the boundary layer. Forecasts for the lower boundary and surface layer are empirically derived. Despite some approximations which broadly simplify the real planetary boundary-layer processes, operational use for highly weather-sensitive Air Weather Service support indicates that the model is capable of producing accurate detailed forecasts for periods of up to 24h.A modified version of this paper was presented at the IUGG-IAMAP-AMS conference on Planetary Boundary Layers at Boulder, Colo., 18–21 March, 1970, and at the 5th annual Congress of the Canadian Meteorological Society, at Macdonald College, 12–14 May, 1971.  相似文献

为了研究对流层(TL)中垂直涡旋扩散系数(K_z)随高度变化的参数化形式对物质垂直交换的贡献,用“高分辨TL物质交换模式”(EM3)对5种不同K_z型进行了数值对比模拟,结果表明:KK_z型较好地描述了行星边界层(PBL)内受下垫面影响的高频湍流和PBL以上TL由各种动力学和热力学过程产生的切变湍流;垂直运动和K_z对PBL下层的物质输送到TL上层和从源高度向下输送到PBL低层两者均有重要作用;垂直运动的作用具有间隙性,而K_z是连续的.  相似文献

The use of high resolution atmosphere–ocean coupled regional climate models to study possible future climate changes in the Mediterranean Sea requires an accurate simulation of the atmospheric component of the water budget (i.e., evaporation, precipitation and runoff). A specific configuration of the version 3.1 of the weather research and forecasting (WRF) regional climate model was shown to systematically overestimate the Mediterranean Sea water budget mainly due to an excess of evaporation (~1,450 mm yr?1) compared with observed estimations (~1,150 mm yr?1). In this article, a 70-member multi-physics ensemble is used to try to understand the relative importance of various sub-grid scale processes in the Mediterranean Sea water budget and to evaluate its representation by comparing simulated results with observed-based estimates. The physics ensemble was constructed by performing 70 1-year long simulations using version 3.3 of the WRF model by combining six cumulus, four surface/planetary boundary layer and three radiation schemes. Results show that evaporation variability across the multi-physics ensemble (~10 % of the mean evaporation) is dominated by the choice of the surface layer scheme that explains more than ~70 % of the total variance and that the overestimation of evaporation in WRF simulations is generally related with an overestimation of surface exchange coefficients due to too large values of the surface roughness parameter and/or the simulation of too unstable surface conditions. Although the influence of radiation schemes on evaporation variability is small (~13 % of the total variance), radiation schemes strongly influence exchange coefficients and vertical humidity gradients near the surface due to modifications of temperature lapse rates. The precipitation variability across the physics ensemble (~35 % of the mean precipitation) is dominated by the choice of both cumulus (~55 % of the total variance) and planetary boundary layer (~32 % of the total variance) schemes with a strong regional dependence. Most members of the ensemble underestimate total precipitation amounts with biases as large as 250 mm yr?1 over the whole Mediterranean Sea compared with ERA Interim reanalysis mainly due to an underestimation of the number of wet days. The larger number of dry days in simulations is associated with a deficit in the activation of cumulus schemes. Both radiation and planetary boundary layer schemes influence precipitation through modifications on the available water vapor in the boundary layer generally tied with changes in evaporation.  相似文献

Predictions from a new theory for high Reynolds number turbulent boundary layers during near-neutral conditions are shown to agree well with measurements of atmospheric surface-layer variances and spectra. The theory suggests surface-layer turbulence is determined by detached eddies that largely originate in the shearing motion immediately above the surface layer; as they descend into this layer, they are strongly distorted by the local shear and impinge onto the surface. Because the origin of these eddies is non-local, they are similar to those described in previous studies as `inactive' turbulence. However, they are, in fact, dynamically highly active, supplying the major mechanism for the momentum transport, including upward bursting on the time scale of the larger eddies. The vertical velocity results show that the variance and the low frequency parts of spectra increase with height in the surface layer, while in the self similar (k1 -1) range the streamwise low frequency components are approximately constant with height. These large-scale longitudinal eddies extend to a length s, which is equal to the boundary-layer height near the surface andincreases linearly to a maximum of about three times the boundary-layer height at roughly 15 m and decreases in the upper parts of the surface layer. This lower part of the surface layer, the eddy surface layer, is the region in which the eddies impinging from layers above are strongly distorted. This new result for the atmospheric boundary layer has practical application for calculating fluctuating wind loads on structures and lateral dispersion of pollution from local sources.  相似文献

Summary On the basis of Wu and Blumen's work (1982) on the geostrophic momentum approximation (GMA) in the planetary boundary layer (PBL) and Tan and Wu (1992, 1994) on the Ekman momentum approximation (EMA) in the PBL, some improvements about the eddy exchange coefficientK, the advective inertial force and the lower boundary condition of the PBL are developed in this paper: (1) apply theK which is a gradually varying function of height instead of a constant value in the Ekamn layer, and introduce a surface layer; (2) take the effect of the vertical advective inertial force into account; (3) the solution technique is extended from level terrain to orographically formed terrain. Under the condition of the equilibrium among four forces (the pressure — gradient force, Coriolis force, eddy viscous force and inertial force including horizontal and vertical advective inertial forces), we have obtained the analytical solutions of the distributions of the wind and the vertical velocity. The computation of an individual example shows that: (1) both the wind velocity near surface and the angle between which and the non-viscous wind are more consistent with usual observations than that of Wu and Blumen (1982); (2) comparing with the horizontal advective inertial force, the vertical advective inertial force can not be neglected, when the orography is considered, the effect of the latter is even more important than the former.With 3 Figures  相似文献

边界层参数化方案中湍流混合对数值模拟起着重要的作用,湍流混合作用的恰当描述对于温度、湿度、风场以及降水的准确模拟至关重要。我国长江中下游流域人口密集,暴雨灾害频发,很有必要寻找一种适合该地区降水模拟的边界层参数化方案。本文运用WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting)中尺度数值模式,以QNSE(Quasi-Normal Scale Elimination)边界层参数化方案为基础,将其中湍流混合长度尺度系数调整为可变参数。本文将Noh et al.(2003)提出的Prandtl公式与Janji?提出的修正湍流长度尺度系数的方法相结合,通过考虑非局地项的强迫、地表稳定度与边界层高度对湍流长度尺度系数的影响,强调大气的动力结构特征与热力结构特征对湍流混合的共同影响,从而提高QNSE边界层参数化方案在不同地理环境下的模拟能力。文章通过进行长江中下游地区的典型暴雨试验,将调整参数后的QNSE方案与原方案进行比较,重点分析调整参数后的方案与原方案对关键基本气象要素场、边界层结构特征以及降水的模拟能力,并将模拟结果与观测结果进行对比,结果表明:调整参数后的方案一定程度上改进了地表温度、边界层结构以及降水的模拟效果。进一步研究表明,调整参数后的方案主要通过改变边界层混合缓解水汽混合比、位温模拟方面的误差。  相似文献

Summary The magnitude and diurnal change of turbulent bulk drag coefficients over land have been analysed using mean velocity and temperature gradient data of the planetary boundary layer. The turbulent drag coefficients can be about an order of magnitude larger over the rough land surface than over the sea surface. We computed these coefficients by the same method for three typical underlying surfaces represented by urban, grassland and Gobi desert. The results show that there are significant differences in the turbulent transfer among the three typical underlying surfaces.With 6 Figures  相似文献
