Layers with high magnetic susceptibility contain heavy minerals that are the most likely to preserve signatures of impact in metamorphosed Precambrian rocks. The following impact indicators are resistant to alteration and metamorphism and are likely to be found in heavy mineral layers: impact diamond, SiC, shocked zircon, high-pressure TiO2 phases, reidite, and high-pressure chromite. Coesite and stishovite could also be present but are not likely to be preserved in rocks metamorphosed above the greenschist facies. Looking for layers with high magnetic susceptibility will also identify layers that might contain concentrations of zircon for dating.  相似文献

U-Pb geochronology with ion microprobe (SHRIMP) analysis has been carried out on eclogite-facies rocks of the Beigua Unit, an ophiolitic slice of the Voltri Massif, Western Alps. The investigated samples are eclogites and high-pressure metasomatic rocks (metarodingites and centimetre-sized Ti-clinohumite-bearing dykes). Zircon contained in an eclogitic metagabbro and a metarodingite preserves magmatic zoning patterns and trace element compositions. The zircon ages of 160±1 and 161±3 Ma are interpreted to date the crystallization of the gabbroic protoliths. Ti-clinohumite dykes in the same unit contain baddeleyite crystals in textural equilibrium with Ti-clinohumite, diopside, chlorite and magnetite, which form the eclogite-facies assemblage in these rocks. Baddeleyite also contains inclusions of such minerals, indicating its formation at high pressure. The baddeleyite has cathodoluminescence intensity and chaotic patterns similar to metamorphic zircon. It contains a significant amount of Hf (1.3–1.7 wt%), traces of Ti, Y, Nb, Ta, REE, U and Th. Its chondrite-normalised trace element pattern has strong enrichment in middle REE, positive Ce-anomaly and small negative Eu-anomaly. This represents the first report of baddeleyite formed during regional metamorphism, and suggests that this mineral could (re)crystallize easier than zircon under low-temperature, high-pressure conditions. The age of the baddeleyite is interpreted as likely dating the eclogite-facies metamorphism in the Beigua Unit at 33.6±1.0 Ma. This age is very close to the Early Oligocene age of the overlying Tertiary continental breccias and conglomerates, which contains clasts of high-pressure rocks. This sedimentary record, which is unique for Alpine high-pressure units, is direct evidence of fast exhumation of the Beigua eclogites. The young age for the HP metamorphism of the Beigua ophiolite makes a revision of either the palaeogeography prior to collision, or of the subduction setting in the entire region, necessary.Editorial responsibility: J. 传统认为辽河群顶部的盖县组广泛分布于辽南地区。本文对岫岩县黄花甸-苏子沟一带的南辽河群盖县组变质长石石英砂岩和变质石英砂岩进行了LA-ICP-MS碎屑锆石U-Pb年代学研究。其中变质长石石英砂岩中碎屑锆石普遍发育核-边结构,核部具有清晰的振荡环带;变质石英砂岩中碎屑锆石基本无核-边结构,具有清晰或者略模糊的振荡环带。锆石微量元素分析结果显示,具有振荡环带锆石微区具有轻稀土元素(LREE)亏损、重稀土元素(HREE)相对富集的配分曲线特征,Ce正异常和Eu负异常明显,Th/U和Zr/Hf比值较高,表明其岩浆成因。变质长石石英砂岩岩浆成因锆石微区~(207)Pb/~(206)Pb谐和年龄集中于2506~1748Ma之间,且呈现~2178Ma和~1863Ma两个年龄主峰,表明主要物质来源为同时期花岗质岩石(条痕状花岗岩和斑状花岗岩);变质石英砂岩岩浆成因锆石微区~(207)Pb/~(206)Pb谐和年龄集中于3546~1950Ma之间,呈现~2149Ma年龄主峰值,表明主要物质来源为条痕状花岗岩,另有少量太古宙基底物质的加入。研究区变质长石石英砂岩~1.86Ga的年龄峰值与辽河群其它变沉积岩明显不同,表明沉积时代一定晚于~1.86Ga,即形成于辽河群古元古代变质作用之后。综合研究区盖县组变质长石石英砂岩与辽河群其它变沉积岩碎屑锆石U-Pb年龄的差异,我们建议将盖县组部分变沉积岩从辽河群中解体出来。  相似文献

通过对闽江和九龙江沿岸沉积物中重矿物的分析,发现重矿物组合与源区岩石具有极好的相关性。两条河流流域重矿物组合为不透明铁矿类—绿帘石—锆石—电气石—角闪石,特征矿物为绿帘石,含量高达原生透明重矿物比重的70%,其成因除与高级变质岩有关外,还与中酸性岩浆岩及其与围岩接触蚀变发生的绿帘石化有关。从重矿物组合、重矿物特征指数以及与锆石年龄谱系的比对分析发现,闽江流域重矿物源自闽西北武夷山前寒武纪的变质岩、闽东广泛出露的燕山期岩浆岩和接触变质岩,而九龙江流域重矿物源自闽西南的印支—燕山期花岗岩。闽江上游沉积物重矿物以源自高级变质岩的重矿物为特征,中下游由上游来源的重矿物和下游酸性岩浆岩及接触变质岩形成的重矿物共同构成;九龙江以印支—燕山期花岗岩中的副矿物组合为特征。研究结果显示,对于中小流域面积的河流,由于搬运距离有限,重矿物组合保存的源岩信息量大,可作为研究流域内构造演化和源汇对比的重要手段。  相似文献

The Tjårrojåkka Fe–Cu-prospect in northern Sweden is considered an example of a Fe-oxide Cu–Au (IOCG) deposit and is hosted in metamorphosed Paleoproterozoic volcanic and intrusive rocks. Rock samples from 24 outcrops were collected for petrophysical analysis (magnetic susceptibility, remanent magnetization, variation of magnetic susceptibility with temperature, Curie temperature and density). The major Cu-prospect in the area has been studied by magnetic and electron microprobe analyses of four selected rock samples. The samples are from an exploration well that intersects the main Cu-mineralized body.The magnetic analyses show that magnetite is the dominant magnetic mineral, while hematite and other Fe-minerals are present in minor amounts. The electron microprobe observations confirm the presence of magnetite and further indicate that hematite is an alteration product of magnetite. Moreover, microprobe observations indicate that Fe-sulfides are present in negligible amounts in the samples from the Tjårrojåkka area. The strong spatial relationship of Cu-minerals (e.g., chalcopyrite) and the oxidation of magnetite to hematite suggest that the presence of rocks with low magnetic susceptibility in areas dominated by high susceptibility rocks may be a signal of related Cu-prospects.  相似文献

Zircon populations of Neoproterozoic and early Paleozoic age occur in metabasites of a high-pressure amphibolite-facies unit of the Austroalpine basement south of the Tauern Window. The host rocks for these zircons are eclogitic amphibolites of N-MORB-type character, hornblende gneisses with volcanic-arc basalt signature, and alkaline within-plate-basalt amphibolites. Bulk rock magmatic trace element patterns were preserved during amphibolite-facies high-pressure and subsequent high-temperature events, as well as a greenschist-facies overprint. Positive Ce and negative Eu anomalies and enrichment of HREE in normalized zircon REE patterns, as analysed by LA-ICP-MS, are typical for an igneous origin of these zircon suites. Zircon Y is well correlated to HREE, Ce, Th, U, Nb, and Ta and allows discrimination of compositional fields for each host rock type. Low Th/U ratios are correlated to low Y and HREE abundances in zircon from low bulk Th/U host rocks. This is likely a primary igneous characteristic that cannot be attributed to metamorphic recrystallization. Variations of zircon/host rock element ratios confirm that ionic radii and charges control abundances of many trace elements in zircon. The trace element ratios—presented as mineral/melt distribution coefficients—indicate a selectively inhibited substitution of Zr and Si by HREE and Y in zircon which crystallized from a N-MORB melt. Correlated host rock and zircon trace element concentrations indicate that the metabasite zircons are not xenocrysts but crystallized from mafic melts, represented by the actual host rocks.  相似文献

华北克拉通在新太古代末期发生克拉通化,形成了现今规模的古陆,大量的太古宙岩石均经历了~2500Ma左右的区域高级变质作用(高角闪岩相-麻粒岩相)。而华北克拉通北部冀北地区出露一套中低级变质(绿片岩相-角闪岩相)的火山-沉积岩系,主要包括胡麻营地区红旗营子表壳岩和大阴山地区单塔子表壳岩中变质程度较低的部分。胡麻营地区红旗营子表壳岩系主要岩石组合为变基性火山岩、绿帘角闪岩、斜长角闪岩、含石榴石斜长角闪岩、角闪斜长片麻岩、黑云斜长片麻岩、黑云角闪斜长片麻岩、黑云二长片麻岩、石英片岩、磁铁石英岩等,SIMS锆石U-Pb定年结果表明斜长角闪岩形成于2486±18Ma(MSWD=1.4),而黑云斜长片麻岩形成于2507±37Ma(MSWD=2.0)。大阴山地区单塔子中低级变质表壳岩系主要由浅变质火山岩、云母石英片岩、斜长角闪岩、磁铁石英岩和大理岩等组成,SHRIMP锆石U-Pb定年结果显示,浅变质火山岩中的变玄武岩形成于2490±19Ma(MSWD=2.0),而变英安岩形成于2502±8Ma(MSWD=0.83)。因此,冀北中低级变质的表壳岩系主要形成于新太古代末期,形成年龄为2507~2486Ma;结合冀东青龙地区新太古代末期(2511~2503Ma)的浅变质火山-沉积岩系(青龙表壳岩),我们认为新太古代末期,中低级变质表壳岩系广泛分布于华北克拉通的核部和边缘地区,此套岩系覆盖在太古宙高级变质杂岩之上,代表华北克拉通化之后的稳定盖层,是克拉通化的主要标志之一。  相似文献

虹口乡八角庙出露完整的映秀—北川断裂带剖面断层岩,高分辨率磁化率测试揭示出多个具有高磁化率特征的断层岩带。系统的岩石磁学分析证明一层褐色断层岩相对围岩具有最大的磁化率值,存在新生成的磁铁矿和拥有相似的天然剩磁(NRM)和非磁滞剩磁(ARM)强度衰减过程。高磁化率特征是含铁顺磁性矿物受到断层滑移过程产生摩擦生热作用生成磁铁矿所致。同时断层岩还获得了热剩磁,记录了地震活动磁学信息。结合汶川地震科学钻探项目1号孔(WFSD-1)磁化率和岩石磁学研究结果,说明映秀—北川断裂带包含多层具有高磁化率特征的断层岩,暗示了多次强震的发生。具有高磁化率特征的断层岩可以作为判定地震活动的标志之一。  相似文献

首次获得黔桂地区晚前寒武纪四堡群凝灰岩(斑脱岩)锆石SHRIMP U-Pb年龄,结合新获得的侵位于四堡群的花岗岩锆石SHRIMP U-Pb年龄,将四堡群明确定位于新元古界。"江南造山带"普遍发育的新元古代四堡群(梵净山群、冷家溪群、双桥山群)和上覆的丹州群(下江群、板溪群、河上镇群)均为低变质绿片岩系,构成了江南古陆的变质基底。多年来四堡群一直划归中元古界,并且构成"四堡运动"的主体,其时代的定位一直影响着整个江南古陆变质基底的地层划分和对比,也制约着中国地质学家对江南造山带的地质背景和成矿条件解疑。通过对四堡群及其上覆地层中斑脱岩锆石的研究,精确地测定并获得了四堡群斑脱岩锆石的年龄841.7Ma±5.9Ma和黔东南摩天岭地区侵入四堡群的花岗岩锆石的年龄826.8Ma±5.9Ma。  相似文献

深刻理解同位素在超高压变质及退变质过程中的地球化学行为对获得超高压变质岩准确并有明确意义的年龄值是非常重要的。对 Sm-Nd,Rb-Sr 同位素体系,只有变质矿物同位素体系达到平衡才能给出精确有意义的等时线年龄。研究表明,与副变质岩互层的细粒榴辉岩的高压变质矿物之间,或者强退变质岩石的退变质矿物之间,其 Nd,Sr 同位素可以达到平衡;然而高压变质矿物与退变质矿物之间 Nd,Sr 同位素不平衡。由于全岩样品总是含有数量不等的退变质矿物,因此石榴石 全岩 Sm-Nd 法或多硅白云母 全岩 Rh-Sr 法将有可能给出无地质意义的年龄。通常低温榴辉岩的高压变质矿物之间存在Nd 同位素不平衡。超高压变质岩多硅白云母所含过剩 Ar 主要源于榴辉岩原岩中角闪石在变质分解时释放出来的放射成因 Ar。因此,不含榴辉岩的花岗片麻岩多硅白云母基本不含过剩 Ar。对变质锆石成因的准确判断是正确理解锆石 U-Ph 年龄意义的关键。本文对不同成因锆石的判别标志及年龄意义做了总结,并指出将阴极发光图形,锆石痕量元素组成及矿物包裹体鉴定相结合是进行锆石成因鉴定的有效方法。高压变质或退变质增生锆石组成单一,是理想变质定年对象。然而变质重结晶锆石域常是重结晶锆石和继承晶质锆石的混合区,因而给出混合年龄。只有完全变质重结晶锆石才能给出准确变质时代。  相似文献

A diverse suite of Archaean gneisses at Huangbaiyu village in the North China Craton, includes rare fuchsite-bearing (Cr-muscovite) siliceous rocks - known as the Caozhuang quartzite. The Caozhuang quartzite is strongly deformed and locally mylonitic, with silica penetration and pegmatite veining common. It contains abundant 3880-3600 Ma and some Palaeoarchaean zircons. Because of its siliceous nature, the presence of fuchsite and its complex zircon age distribution, it has until now been accepted as a (mature) quartzite. However, the Caozhuang quartzite sample studied here is feldspathic. The shape and cathodoluminescence petrography of the Caozhuang quartzite zircons show they resemble those found in immature detrital sedimentary rocks of local provenance or in Eoarchaean polyphase orthog- neisses, and not those in mature quartzites. The 5-km deep Chinese Continental Scientific Drilling Main Hole penetrated a sequence of ultrahigh pressure (UHP)-metamorphic rocks consisting mainly of eclogite, gneiss and garnet-peridotite with minor schist and quartzite. Zircon separates taken from thin layers of schist and gneiss within eclogite were investigated. Cathodoluminescence images of zircon grains show that they have oscillatory zoned magmatic cores and unzoned to patchy zoned metamorphic rims. Zircon rims contain rare coesite and calcite inclusions whereas cores contain inclusions of both low- P minerals (e.g. feldspar, biotite and quartz) and coesite and other eclogite-facies minerals such as phengite and jadeite. The zircon cores give highly variable 206Pb/238U ages ranging from 760 to 431 Ma for schist and from 698 to 285 Ma for gneiss, and relatively high but variable Th/U ratios (0.16–1.91). We suggest that the coesite and other eclogite facies mineral inclusions in zircon cores were not magmatic but formed through metasomatic processes caused by fluids during UHP metamorphism, and that the fluids contain components of SiO2, Al2O3, K2O, FeO, MgO, Na2O and H2O. Metasomatism of the Sulu UHP rocks during continental subduction to mantle depths has partly altered magmatic zircon cores and reset isotopic systems. This study provides key evidence that mineral inclusions within magmatic zircon domains are not unequivocal indicators of the formation conditions of the respective domain. This finding leads us to conclude that the routine procedure for dating of metamorphic events solely based on the occurrence of mineral inclusions in zoned zircon could be misleading and the data should be treated with caution.  相似文献

A map depicting predicted classes of soil magnetic susceptibility in Angola was produced. The map is based on a classification system for the susceptibility of tropical soils set up by the authors and a 1:2,000,000 scale FAO soil map. Statistical data of two large groups of parent rock—ultrabasic, basic and intermediate igneous rocks on the one hand and acid igneous rocks and some slightly metamorphosed rocks and clastic sediments on the other—had been linked to three associated degrees of weathering. These determining factors were used to classify Angolan soils, and the overall method is semi-quantitative. The resulting map shows that easily available pedological information as given by FAO soil maps is generally appropriate to predict soil magnetic susceptibility. Potential metal detector performance failures may be predicted. The resulting information is a useful tool for planning the use of appropriate techniques in landmine clearance operations.  相似文献

Abrasion combined with an improved paramagnetic separation technique eliminates 90 to 100 percent of discordance so that ages of unprecedented accuracy (±1 to 3 m.y.) can be achieved for virtually all 2700 m.y. old zircon populations from plutonic or volcanic rocks. The procedures work even better for younger zircons. Besides removing outer layers that may have been leached, high-U parts are preferentially removed by abrasion because they are softened by radiation damage. Altered and cracked zircons also tend to be eliminated.In most cases, the new concordant data move up the line established by previously analysed paramagnetic fractions but a number of anomalies have been found where old data give upper intersections that are in error by as much as 25 m.y. Reducing or eliminating paramagnetically correlated Pb loss greatly enhances our ability to define mixing lines for igneous or metamorphic rocks when two ages of zircon are present.The abrasion technique allows detection of an inherited component if it exists by enhancing the sample in core material. Abrasion in many cases removes about 80 percent of the common lead, thus allowing a direct evaluation of this component.When the outer parts of grains are removed, the correlation between magnetic susceptibility and uranium content is maintained but the usual correlation of uranium level with lead loss is reduced or eliminated. Therefore, only near surface uranium is involved in the classic discordance versus uranium level correlation of Silver (1963).  相似文献

Within the Belomorian eclogite province, near Gridino Village, rocks of different compositions (tonalite-trondhjemite-granodioritic gneisses, granites, mafic and ultramafic rocks) were metamorphosed. The metamorphism included subsidence with increasing pressure and temperature, an eclogite stage, decompression in the granulitic facies, and a retrograde stage in the amphibolitic facies. We attempted to characterize the succession and to date igneous and metamorphic events in the evolution of the Gridino eclogite association. For this purpose, we conducted the following studies: U–Pb isotope dating of zircon (conventional and SHRIMP II methods) from gneisses, a mafic dike, and a high-pressure granitic leucosome; U–Pb dating of rutile from mafic dikes; 40Ar/39Ar dating of amphibole and mica; and Sm–Nd studies of rocks and minerals. The Sm–Nd model ages of felsic (2.9–3.1 Ga) and mafic (3.0–3.4 Ga) rocks from the Gridino eclogite association and individual magmatic zircon grains with an age of ca. 3.0 Ga indicate the Mesoarchean age of the metamorphic-rock protoliths. The most reliable result is the upper age bound of eclogitic metamorphism (2.71 Ga), which reflects the time of the posteclogitic decompression melting of eclogitized rocks under high-pressure retrograde granulitic metamorphism. The mafic dikes formed from 2.82 Ga to 2.72 Ga, most probably, at 2.82 Ga, in accordance with the crystallization age of magmatic zircon from metagabbro. Superimposed amphibolitic metamorphism and the “final” exhumation of metamorphic complexes at 2.0–1.9 Ga are associated with the later Svecofennian tectonometamorphic stage. Successive cooling of the metamorphic associations to 300 °C at 1.9–1.7 Ga is shown by U–Pb rutile dating and 40Ar/39Ar mica dating.  相似文献

This report presents the main results of LA-ICPMS studies of zircon from metamorphosed magmatic rocks of the Fisher Massif in East Antarctica. The minimum age of crystallization for still unexplored granitoid intrusion in the southeastern part of the massif amounts to 1399 ± 11 Ma. The presence of inherited zircon of 1786 ± 23 Ma age in the rocks points to their fusion from a crustal source of Paleoproterozoic age. The time of the eruption of vulcanites of basite composition amounts to 1244 ± 11 Ma. The vulcanites contain xenogenic zircon of Late Archean and Middle Proterozoic age; hence, their initial melt interacted with the heterogeneous continental crust. The earliest metamorphism of the amphibolite facies proceeded 1213 ± 16 Ma ago, and was accompanied with intense shift deformations. The time of volcanism complies with the age of a large basite dike swarm in Vestfold Hills, intruded about 1250 Ma ago, which is associated with the destruction of the hypothetical Paleoproterozoic Nuna (Columbia) continent.  相似文献

The Scandinavian Caledonides contain the record of several high-pressure events reflecting distinct episodes of collision and subduction in the course of the global Caledonian plate reorganization process. In this study, the timing and speed of one of these events in the Tromsø Nappe of the Uppermost Allochthon are detailed using multiple U–Pb geochronometers. This unit contains eclogites, the largest of which forms a whole mountain top, whereas many others occur as smaller lenses enclosed within a metamorphosed supracrustal sequence. A minimum age for the sedimentation is provided by a zircon age of 493 +5/-2 Ma for an eclogitized felsic intrusion. Formation of the eclogite, at pressures reaching 2.8 GPa, occurred at 452.1±1.7 Ma as evidenced by U–Pb in eclogitic zircon. Similar ages of 451–450 Ma are also provided by high-Al titanite in eclogite and titanite in leucosome veins, the latter of which was formed by partial melting during the exhumation of the eclogite. An age of 449 Ma for a rutile porphyroblast in another vein further confirms the rapidity of this high-pressure process. Matrix rutiles in two other eclogites yielded ages of 436 Ma and younger, probably indicating partial resetting during a subsequent metamorphic overprint. Lead isotopic compositions with high 207Pb/ 204Pb ratios are indicative of old crustal sources, thus supporting the previously proposed notion that the Uppermost Allochthon was derived from the Neoproterozoic margin of Laurentia.  相似文献

南京市历史文化层中土壤重金属元素的分布规律初探   总被引:14,自引:2,他引:12  
文章对南京市城区不同地点出现的多个文化层中土壤的理化特征进行了系统研究。研究结果表明,文化层中土壤的重金属元素含量比南京市非城市土壤和背景平均值有增高的趋势,局部地段有巨量增高。从剖面纵向上看(时间上),这种增高现象主要发生在近现代、明清和六朝3个历史时期,这与历史上这些时期南京相对发达有关;而从横向地域上看(空间上),重金属元素含量的分布明显可以分成两组,两个组分别代表了地域上的不同,如明故宫-大行宫-中山东路一带历史上许多时期是皇城区,而内秦淮河流域一带则可能是古代的手工业和制造业区、商贸区和普通大众的生活区,这种明显的差别揭示出南京在各历史时期上的城市功能区是各不相同的。磁化率特征研究结果表明文化层中土壤的磁化率在各历史时期分布是不同的,磁化率的高峰时期有近现代、清朝和明朝时期;频率磁化率特征研究结果表明磁性矿物主要是外源输入造成的。与此同时磁化率高峰时期基本上与重金属元素增高地段是一致的,这进一步印证了文化层中重金属元素增高主要是由于外源污染物质的输入造成的。  相似文献

海南岛西部(琼西)是莺歌海盆地东北部的主要物质来源之一。本文对琼西7条主要河流入海口的现代河砂进行了重矿物含量、重矿物组合以及相关特征指数等分析,发现其重矿物含量、磨圆度、组合以及相关重矿物指数从北到南明显不同,反映出碎屑物质搬运距离和源区岩性也明显不同。北部珠碧江重矿物以钛铁矿、电气石、锆石、绿帘石和透闪石为主,磨圆度较差,反映物源主要为近距离的酸性至基性-超基性岩浆岩和变质岩;昌化江重矿物以钛铁矿、磁铁矿、锆石和榍石为主,磨圆比较好,物源可能主要为远距离的酸性和基性岩浆岩;中部北黎河和通天河重矿物以钛铁矿、电气石、锆石、石榴石和透闪石为主,基本没有磨圆,物源主要来自近源区,为未经远距离搬运的变质岩、酸性岩浆岩和基性火山岩;感恩河重矿物以磨圆度差的锆石、钛铁矿、榍石、电气石和褐铁矿等稳定-极稳定重矿物为主,反映源区主要为近距离搬运的岩浆岩;南部望楼河和宁远河重矿物以钛铁矿、磁铁矿、褐铁矿和绿帘石等稳定-不稳定矿物为主,反映的母岩主要为酸性岩浆岩、变质岩和中-基性岩浆岩。这些主要河流入海口的重矿物特征存在明显差异,这与其发源地、流经区域以及流经区域所发育的岩石类型相一致。通过研究琼西地区从北到南不同流域的重矿物组合体系,有助于开展莺歌海盆地源汇对比分析,建立不同区域油气储层碎屑物质来源的识别标志,对该盆地天然气储层物源识别具有重要的地质意义。  相似文献
