Synthetic seismograms are usually computed for reflections from vertical incidence of P waves for a horizontally layered medium. In actual practice the angle of incidence departs from the vertical, as receivers are usually located at some distance from the source. At angles other than the vertical, the conversion of P- to S-wave energy and changes in the reflection coefficient affect the shape of the synthetic seismograms. The effect of non-vertical incidence on synthetic seismograms is examined in this paper. Seismograms at non-vertical incidence have been computed using the plane-wave approach of Haskell (1953) for a layered medium. The use of plane waves is an approximation to the actual case of spherical wavefronts from a surface source. Using plane-wave theory, the expected wave forms as a function of angle of incidence were computed numerically for several simple models. The results indicate that the synthetic seismograms do not change significantly for angles of incidence between o and 25 degrees. For larger angles the changes in the wave forms may be severe. The effect is more pronounced for high-velocity layers than for low-velocity layers.  相似文献

At a sampling rate of 100 samples per second,the YRY-4 four-gauge borehole strainmeters(FGBS) are capable of recording transient strains caused by seismic waves such as P and S waves or strain seismograms. At such a high sampling rate, data from the YRY-4 strainmeters demonstrate fairly satisfactory self-consistency. The strain tensor seismograms demonstrate the senses of motion of P waves, that is, the type of seismic wave travels in the direction of the maximum normal strain change. The observed strain patterns of S waves significantly differ from those of P waves and should contain information about the source mechanism. Spectrum analysis shows that the strain seismograms are consistent with conventional broadband seismograms from the same site.  相似文献

The coupling ray theory is usually applied to anisotropic common reference rays, but it is more accurate if it is applied to reference rays which are closer to the actual wave paths. If we know that a medium is close to uniaxial (transversely isotropic), it may be advantageous to trace reference rays which resemble the SH–wave and SV–wave rays. This paper is devoted to defining and tracing these SH and SV reference rays of elastic S waves in a heterogeneous generally anisotropic medium which is approximately uniaxial (approximately transversely isotropic), and to the corresponding equations of geodesic deviation (dynamic ray tracing). All presented equations are simultaneously applicable to ordinary and extraordinary reference rays of electromagnetic waves in a generally bianisotropic medium which is approximately uniaxially anisotropic. The improvement of the coupling–ray–theory seismograms calculated along the proposed SH and SV reference rays, compared to the coupling–ray–theory seismograms calculated along the anisotropic common reference rays, has already been numerically demonstrated by the authors in four approximately uniaxial velocity models.  相似文献

Theoretical seismograms for an explosive source in a multilayered elastic medium are constructed by Fourier synthesis and plane wave superposition. The calculation scheme which builds up a reflection matrix layer by layer in the frequency and wave number domain allows the inclusion of attenuation and a choice of the level of internal multiples in each layer. Comparative calculations of theoretical seismograms for an elastic model and in the acoustic approximation, neglecting shear, show that the main differences arise at large offsets. The inclusion of shear waves leads to lower reflected P wave amplitudes at the end of the spread but only small amounts of converted phases.  相似文献

Numerical examples of high-frequency synthetic seismograms of body waves in a 2-D layered medium with complex interfaces (faults, wedges, curvilinear, corrugated) are presented. The wave field modeling algorithm combines the possibilities of the ray method and the edge wave superposition method. This approach preserves all advantages of the ray method and eliminates restrictions related to diffraction by boundary edges and to caustic effects in singular regions. The method does not require two-point ray tracing (source-to-receiver), and the position of the source, as well as the type of source, and the position of receivers can be chosen arbitrarily. The memory and the time required for synthetic seismogram computation are similar to ray synthetic seismograms. The computation of the volume of the medium (the Fresnel volume or Fresnel zones), which gives the essential contribution to the wave field, is included in the modeling program package. In the case of complicated irregular interface (or a layered medium with a regular ray field at the last interface), the method displays a high accuracy of wave field computation. Otherwise, the method can be considered a modification of the ray method with regularization by the superposition of edge waves.  相似文献

汤西断裂的断层围陷波初步研究   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
作为断层围陷波方法在城市活断层探测中的首次尝试,我们针对太行山山前断裂带南段的汤西断裂开展了爆炸震源的观测试验。运用数字滤波和频谱分析等技术,由地震记录图分离出了断层围陷波。根据2横测线的观测结果,可确定断层的位置,并可推测断层在该处宽度为200~300m。破裂面较宽,可能与其张性特征有关。分频道地震图显示,断层围陷波具有正频散现象,其低频分量传播较快。这表明断层围陷波是一种面波,可利用其频散规律研究断裂带内介质的物理性质。这次的观测结果也表明,断层围陷波并不局限于新破裂带,在老断层中也能形成和传播。事实上,只要断层带内外的介质在物理性质上有较大的差异,均能产生沿断层传播的围陷波。在城市活断层探测中,断层围陷波的方法具有非常独特的优越性  相似文献

准各向同性(QI)近似可用于弱各向异性介质的正演模拟.本文通过运用QI方法的零阶和一阶近似,计算了VTI介质模型的地震记录.得出的地震记录与标准各向同性射线理论(IRT)和基于伪谱法的三维地震正演模拟得出的地震记录作了比较,可以认为是精确的合成地震记录.  相似文献

本文首先发展了计算层状介质地面及地下记录地震波理论地震图的部分分离变量—有限差分计算方法,其最主要的环节是引进了吸收边界条件,使计算工作量大大减少,得以在实际工作中推广应用。其次,应用矩阵方法计算地面及地下记录的地震波的理论频谱。最后给出了用上述方法得到的华北地区两种不同的理论地壳模型情况下的理论地震图和频谱计算结果。应用这些理论结果,可根据实际地震观测资料对地壳介质模型进行分析、评判和优选。  相似文献

This paper presents results of testing an efficient ray generation scheme needed whenever ray synthetic seismograms are to be computed for layered models with more than 10‘ thick’layers. Our ray generation algorithm is based on the concept of kinematically equivalent waves (the kinematic analogs) having identical traveltimes along different ray-paths between the source and the receiver, both located on the surface of the model. These waves, existing in any medium composed of laterally homogeneous parallel layers, interfere at any location along the recording surface, thereby producing a composite wavelet whose amplitude and shape depend directly on the number of kinematic analogs (the multiplicity factor). Hence, explicit knowledge of the multiplicity factor is crucial for any analysis based on the amplitude and shape of individual wavelets, such as wavelet shaping, Q estimation, or linearized wavelet inversion. For unconverted waves, such as those discussed in this paper, the multiplicity factor can be computed analytically using formulae given in the Appendix; for converted waves, the multiplicity factor should be computed numerically, using the algorithm employed for the computation of the seismograms presented in a previous paper by one of the authors.  相似文献

A multichannel lattice filter structure is utilized to represent seismic waves propagating in adjacent layers in an elastic medium. Using this model, an explicit time-domain solution for arbitrary source and receiver locations is obtained as an ARMA (AutoRegressive and Moving-Average) process. The lattice and ARMA structures have given rise to an effective algorithm for the calculation of offset/downhole synthetic seismograms. A large range of recently developed offset/downhole seismic survey geometries, such as the ‘Yo-Yo’ arrangement, can thus be simulated. In addition, the explicit solutions for upgoing and downgoing waves provide new insight into the properties of general downhole seismic signals, including wave-mode conversion effects and multiple reflections. Furthermore, offset/downhole seismograms generated by a line source (i.e. 2D point source) can also be constructed by superposition of plane waves with different incidence angles. Synthetic seismograms generated using a different source-receiver arrangement indicate that the properties especially associated with offset/downhole seismic signals can be predicted by this modelling method. These properties include arrival times, amplitude attenuation and wave-mode conversion effects. Finally, utilizing this numerical modelling method to a real downhole survey with Yo-Yo geometry may lead to a proper data acquisition and processing procedure, and improves the interpretation confidence of the field section.  相似文献

基于频率-波数域算法的理论地震波形图方法, 可以数值模拟频率达到10 Hz、 震中距达1000 km的区域理论地震波形图. 该算法适用于计算大量分层地壳结构中激发的导波Lg波. 本文在前苏联东哈萨克斯坦地下核试验场至我国乌鲁木齐台站间的地球介质速度模型中, 引入速度梯度结构、 速度扰动分布的薄叠加层结构、 降低Q值结构以及速度扰动与Q值变化的综合结构来模拟实际地壳波导结构, 较好地模拟出东哈萨克斯坦地下核爆炸地震在乌鲁木齐台站记录的宽频带地震波形图, 模拟出完整的Lg波序列, 该序列符合Lg波能量分布特征, 且能够解释Lg波波尾的特征. 结果表明, Lg波的形状和峰值结构均依赖于地壳的不同波导结构.   相似文献

二次反射波震相的识别和利用对于进一步发展地震转换波测深法有重要意义。本文利用合成地震图方法,分析研究了短周期远震三分量初始30秒记录中主要震相的运动学和动力学特征。文中集中分析了PPP和PPS型二次波震相的振幅、波形和到时差等特征,及其与震中距、界面两侧波速差、界面结构和介质吸收等因素的关系。讨论了综合利用PS波和二次波震相的到时差资料测定介质速度参数的方法,并介绍了应用实例。  相似文献

Shear waves can today be generated and observed, though not with the flexibility and the technical standard of compressional waves, and they can be identified in seismograms by various means. Their potential lies not so much in their lower velocity (corresponding—for the same frequency—to shorter wavelength and higher resolution) but in the fact that they probe the earth with stresses and strains that differ from those of compressional waves. Full utilization of the information potential of shear waves, therefore, requires combined use of P-and S-waves. Complications in the combined use of different wave types should be regarded as opportunities to obtain additional information. A typical example is the observation that the depth of one and the same interface estimated on the bases of P- and SH-reflections, respectively, can differ significantly. This discrepancy may be due to the anisotropy of a finely layered medium. Under favorable circumstances some of the parameters describing this anisotropy can be deduced from the different depth estimates and the curvature of the squared-offset/squared-time representation of the different reflections. Since in anisotropic media vertically polarized shear waves are significantly different from horizontally polarized ones, the combined observation of all three waves opens up additional possibilities.  相似文献

地震泼由多种频率成份组成,在其传播过程中。由于地球介质的滤波作用,随着传播距离的增大。高频成份逐渐被衰减。周期越大的成份传播越远。因此,在地震观测上,不同频带的地震仪用于观测不同震中距范围的地震,使仪器较好地响应,就我国台网而言,短周期仪用于地方震、近震的监测,中长周期仪和长周期仪用于远震,极远震的监测,其中长周期仪偏重于记录极远震。但作者在实际分析工作中注意到,短周期仪的记录应用于远震,极远震的分析,显示出独特的作用,充分挖掘和利用短仪资料,将会更加丰富远震、极远震的震相资料。本文以高台地震台的资料为依据,从震中距和震级角度,与中长仪和长仪作比较,对短仪记录远震、极远震的震相及特征作了统计分析与初步探讨,并对新疆地区“影区”地震S波的记录、日本地区地震_PPcP等震相的出现提出了现象的存在,给出了相应的观测结果,以待步一步研究。  相似文献

近二十多年来,随着理论地震学和计算技术的发展,理论地震图的计算技术有了飞速发展.目前已能对不同的介质模型和震源计算各种体波、面波、地球自由震荡和静态位移场.它们在研究天然地震震源过程、地球内部结构、近场强地面运动、核爆作监测以及地震勘探等领域中发挥了越来越大的作用. 目前常用的理论地震图计算方法主要包括积分变换法、离散数值方法和射线方法几大类.本文对这些方法分类进行了简单介绍,并评论了各种方法的特点和各自的适用范围.  相似文献

Validation of 3D synthetic seismograms based on the ray-Born approximation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The first-order Born approximation is a weak scattering perturbation method which is a powerful tool. The combination of the Born approximation and the ray theory enables to extend the applicability of the ray theory in terms of the required smoothness of the model and ensures faster computations than with, e.g., the finite difference method. We are motivated to describe and explain the effects of the numerical discretization of the Born integral on the resulting seismograms. We focus on forward modelling and study the cases in which perturbation from the background model contains the interface. We restrict ourselves to isotropic models that contain two homogeneous layers. We compare the 2D and 3D ray-based Bornapproximation seismograms with the ray-theory seismograms. The Born seismograms are computed using a grid of finite extent. We anticipate that the computational grid should contain an appropriate number of gridpoints, otherwise the seismogram would be inaccurate. We also anticipate that the limited size of the computational grid can cause problems. We demonstrate numerically that an incorrect grid can produce significant errors in the amplitude of the wave, or it can shift the seismogram in time. Moreover, the grid boundaries work as interfaces, where spurious waves can be generated. We also attempt to explain these phenomena theoretically. We give and test the options of removing the spurious waves. We show that it is possible to compute the Born approximation in a sparser grid, if we use elastic parameters averaged from some dense grid.  相似文献
