采用英国Hadley中心1974-2006年逐月的北太平洋海表温度资料和NCEP/NCAR的北半球500hPa和1000hPa高度场资料,利用一元回归和相关分析等统计方法,研究各月北太平洋海温的变化特征、探讨冬季西北太平洋海温关键区,然后分析关键区海温与气象场的联系.结果表明,北太平洋海温变率较大的地方出现在我国东部的西北太平洋地区,年代际变化为上升趋势;海温与前一年12月和同期1月500hPa位势高度场的相关最好.表现为冬季东亚大槽对关键区海温的显著影响.1月关键区海温与后期5-6月西太平洋副高存在较显著的正相关,即1月关键区海温升高,同年5-6月副高亦加强,即反映冬季北太平洋SST对西太平洋副高的影响.  相似文献

根据1998-2013年中西太平洋鲣鱼围网生产统计数据以及海洋环境数据,采用BP人工神经网络模型,分别以初值化后的单位捕捞努力量渔获量(CPUE,Catch per unit of effort)和捕捞努力量(Fishing Effort)作为中心渔场的表征因子,并作为BP模型的输出因子,以时间因子、空间因子、海洋环境因子(包括海表温度SST、海面高度SSH、Nino3.4区海表指标及叶绿素浓度Chl-a)等作为输入因子,构建22个BP神经网络模型,以最小拟合残差作为判断标准,比较渔场预报模型优劣。实验结果,以捕捞努力量为输出因子的模型的最小拟合残差均小于以CPUE为输出因子的模型,表明捕捞努力量更适合作为表征中心渔场的因子;同时,拟合残差的平均值随着输入因子的增加而减少,表明本研究所选的时间、空间、海洋环境因子等对鲣鱼中心渔场预报均极为重要。其中,以月份、经度、纬度、SST、SSH、Nino3.4a、Chl-a为输入因子,以初值化后的捕捞努力量为输出因子,结构为7-5-1的BP神经网络模型预报精度为最高,影响因子的重要性从高到低依次是经度、Chl-a、SST、纬度、NINO3.4a、SSH、月份。  相似文献

In this study, we investigated the influence of the Indian Ocean Dipole(IOD) on the interannual variability of tropical cyclone(TC) activity over the western North Pacific(WNP) during autumn(September–November) from 1961–2015. We found the number of TCs making landfall in China to be significantly negatively correlated with the IOD index, which can be attributed to shifts in the location of TC formation together with the abnormal steering flow at 500 hPa. During negative IOD autumns, TC genesis regions move obviously westward due to the westward retreat of the WNP monsoon trough. The TC activity is remarkably enhanced near South China coastal areas, which is due to a contiguous 500-hPa subtropical ridge. In contrast, during positive IOD autumns, TC genesis positions obviously shift eastward and more TCs tend to exhibit recurvature around 130?E or a westward path south of 15?N led by an equatorward movement of the 500-hPa subtropical ridge with a break near 125?E. In our examination of large-scale circula-tion, we found a pair of equator-symmetric anticyclones in the lower troposphere resulting from variations in the large-scale Walker circulation induced by the anomalous sea surface temperature(SST) associated with a positive IOD. The resulting Philippines anti-cyclonic anomalies are closely related to the variability of the monsoon trough over the WNP region. Furthermore, the variations in the steering flow can be explained by the suppressed(enhanced) convective activities around the Philippines and the weakened(strengthened) local meridional circulation over East Asia in positive(negative) IOD years.  相似文献

Understanding the effects of environmental heterogeneity on zooplankton communities has been a hot topic for several decades. However, relatively little is known about the responses of zooplankton communities to environmental conditions at large scales from inshore waters to the open ocean. Here, we used the abundance, biovolume, taxa and size spectra of zooplankton collected from the surface waters of the western Pacific Ocean during the winter of 2014 to study the relationship between zooplankton community characteristics and environmental conditions using multiple linear regression(MLR) analysis and redundancy analysis(RDA). According to a hierarchical cluster analysis based on hydrographic conditions, the study area was classified into five water masses. Significant correlations were identified between the limited nutrients and the zooplankton abundance and biovolume from inshore waters to the open ocean. Non-metric multidimensional scaling(NMDS) revealed two distinct zooplankton assemblages. In the northern inshore, Copepoda and Euphausiacea were the dominant zooplankton taxa and in other water masses, Chaetognatha and gelatinous zooplankton were the dominant zooplankton taxa in addition to Copepoda. Our results suggested that, on a large scale from inshore waters to the open ocean in the western Pacific Ocean, the spatial distribution of zooplankton taxa was mainly influenced by environmental conditions, while in the inshore waters, it was due to the top-down effect of the dominant zooplankton taxa. Finally, the slope of the normalized biovolume size spectra(NBSS) was negatively correlated with chlorophyll-a(Chl-a) concentration and PO_4~(3-)-P concentration in the inshore waters, which indicated that the higher the trophic level the dominant zooplankton taxa were, the steeper the NBSS slope was.  相似文献

Trait structure is increasingly used in plankton ecology to understand diversity and biogeography.However,our knowledge of micro zooplankton(e.g.planktonic ciliates) trait structure and its variation with hydrography is limited.In this study,we analyzed planktonic ciliate trait structure in waters with different hydrography and deep Chlorophyll a maximum(DCM) layers over three seamounts:Yap,Mariana,and Caroline seamounts.Mariana seamount had a lower surface temperature than the Yap and Caroline seamounts.DCM layers over Mariana and Caroline seamounts were deeper than Yap seamount.There was a weak upwelling in upper 50 m around top of Mariana seamount.The ciliate distribution showed bimodal pattern(high abundance appeared in the surface and DCM layers) over three seamounts.At surface layer,the large size-fraction(30 μm) abundance proportion to aloricate ciliate over Yap seamount(44.4%)was higher than Mariana(32.8%) and Caroline(36.1%) seamounts.For tintinnid abundance proportion to total ciliate,Mariana(12.0%) and Caroline(11.5%) seamounts at about 100-m depth were higher than that of Yap seamount(6.4%).Vertically,tintinnid could be divided into 4 groups over the three seamounts.At30-m depth,group I(species occurring from surface to 100 m only) was dominant component over Yap and Caroline seamounts,while group IV(species occurring at every depth) changed into dominant component over Mariana seamount,the weak upwelling might be the reason.Salpingella faurei was the top dominant species,which corresponded to deeper DCM layers over Mariana and Caroline seamounts.Our results showed that the upwelling and the deeper DCM could influence the planktonic ciliate trait structure.  相似文献

The thermal condition anomaly of the western Pacific warm pool and its zonal displacement have very important influences on climate change in East Asia and even the whole world. However, the impact of the zonal wind anomaly over the Pacific Ocean on zonal displacement of the warm pool has not yet been analyzed based on long-term record. Therefore, it is important to study the zonal displacement of the warm pool and its response to the zonal wind anomaly over the equatorial Pacific Ocean. Based on the NCDC monthly averaged SST (sea surface temperature) data in 2°×2° grid in the Pacific Ocean from 1950 to 2000, and the NCEP/NCAR global monthly averaged 850 hPa zonal wind data from 1949 to 2000, the relationships between zonal displacements of the western Pacific warm pool and zonal wind anomalies over the tropical Pacific Ocean are analyzed in this paper. The results show that the zonal displacements are closely related to the zonal wind anomalies over the western, central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean. Composite analysis indicates that during ENSO events, the warm pool displacement was trigged by the zonal wind anomalies over the western equatorial Pacific Ocean in early stage and the process proceeded under the zonal wind anomalies over the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean unless the wind direction changes. Therefore, in addition to the zonal wind anomaly over the western Pacific, the zonal wind anomalies over the central and eastern Pacific Ocean should be considered also in investigation the dynamical mechanisms of the zonal displacement of the warm pool.  相似文献

基于中国热带气旋年鉴资料,从气候学角度出发,对西北太平洋TC(热带气旋)发生温带变性的频数与大尺度环流系统间的关系进行了诊断和分析.研究发现变性TC多发生于夏、秋两季,通过对NCEP月平均再分析资料的500hPa高度场进行EOF分解,发现西北太平洋TC变性的频数与65°N附近强冷高压系统在夏、秋两季都存在着正相关关系,且相关性在秋季高于夏季;与30°N附近强副热带高压系统存在负相关关系,夏季副热带高压系统的作用更大;与30°N以南西北太平洋多台风活动区域的弱低压存在显著的负相关,低压越弱,对流越弱,则TC的生成数越少,其中发生变性的TC数也会减少.500hPa高度场EOF分解的第一特征向量所对应的时间函数分布在20世纪70年代中期前后出现了反号,较好地对应了变性TC年频数的年际变化趋势,70年代中期之前变性TC呈总体偏多,之后变性TC的频数总体偏少,呈明显下降趋势.  相似文献

Recent studies have demonstrated the ability of seismic oceanography to reveal finescale vertical structures of water column in the oceans based on multichannel seismic(MCS) reflection data. Such information can clarify the dynamic processes of mixing, exchange, and translation of water mass and energy. In this study, we present four MCS lines and satellite data to show high-resolution seismic images of shallow waters over the Shatsky Rise in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, where the Kuroshio Extension passes and bifurcates. One of our MCS transects crossed the center of an anticyclonic warm eddy on August 28, 2010, confirmed by satellite data such as sea level anomaly(SLA), geostrophic current anomaly(GCA), and sea surface temperature anomaly(SSTa).The seismic image showed that the eddy vertical structure featured a bowl-like shape and onion-like internal layering. The slightly tilted( 0.5°) surface of the eddy was 400 m below the sea surface, indicating a subsurface eddy. The eddy was inferred to have a radius of 50 km and a maximum thickness of 500 m. Other MCS sections demonstrated the submesoscale structure of oceanfronts,characterized by the dipping reflectors( 2°– 3°) at the boundaries between water masses with differing properties. In addition, the discrepancies in SLA, GCA, and SSTa between water masses resulted in different seismic reflectivities. The water masses with high SLA, anticyclonic GCA and positive SSTa featured high-amplitude, continuous, clear-layered, and non-linear reflections, whereas those with low SLA, cyclonic GCA, and negative SSTa were associated with weak, fragmented, less stratification, and more linear reflectors.  相似文献

An investigation was carried out in the Y3 seamount area of the Western Pacific Ocean in December 2014,and the distribution of dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC) and its relationship with environmental factors in this area were explored.The results show that DIC concentration was higher in the adjacent waters of the Y3 seamount area,and the uplift of DIC isolines at the stations was close to the seamount.Meanwhile,interaction between the North Equatorial Current(NEC) and the Y3 seamount affected the DIC distribution i.e.,the upwelling in the same direction of the NEC was obvious,resulting in a decreasing trend of average concentration of DIC in the 200 m water column from the top to the two side s in this direction but in the cross direction.The DIC concentration increased with the water depth increase,and its distribution was affected by various environmental factors.In the surface water,high temperature was a decisive factor for the decrease of the DIC concentration,but the photosynthesis of phytoplankton showing only a weak influence.In the North Pacific Tropic Water(NPTW),DIC production rate from organic matter decomposition was higher than that of DIC consumption by phytoplankton photosynthesis,leading to a continual increase of DIC.In the North Pacific Intermediate Water(NPIW),organic matter decomposition played a leading role in the increase of DIC.In the deep water,decomposition of organic matter weakened,and the dissolution of CaCO_3 controlled the carbonate system,and DIC had the smallest variation range.  相似文献

Based on an analysis of 51-year(1965–2015) data, the influence of El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation(ENSO) events on tropical cyclone(TC) activity is examined over the western North Pacific(WNP). The total number of TCs formed in the entire WNP reduces by about 3.4 TCs per year in La Ni?a years, whereas TCs have an equivalent genesis number between El Ni?o years and climatology. During El Ni?o years, the frequency of TC formation increases remarkably in the southeast quadrant(140?E–180?, 0?–17?N) and decreases in the northwest quadrant(120?–140?E, 17?–30?N). During La Ni?a years, TCs tend to form in the northwest and southwest quadrants(120?–140?E, 0?–17?N) quadrants. TCs tend to become long-lived in the peak season(from July to September) of El Ni?o years and during strong El Ni?o events. TC genesis shows a southeastward positive shift in terms of lifetime and intensity during El Ni?o years, thus more super TCs(winds ≥ 58.64 m s-1) are formed in the southeast quadrant. Further analysis using the genesis potential index(GPI) indicates that the interannual variations in the TC genesis and track are significantly influenced by a combination of large-scale dynamic and thermodynamic conditions.  相似文献

The oxygen minimum zones(OMZs) are globally expanding,yet the variation pattern of microbial communities related to dissolved oxygen levels remain unclear.Spatial variability of bacterial diversity and community composition(repre sented by 16 S rRNA) of six stations was investigated within the water column in the seamount area of Tropical Western Pacific Ocean(TWPO) in May 2019.The seawater has dissolved oxygen(DO) concentration of 3.01-6.68 mg/L and the core of the oxygen minimum zones was located between the depths of 650 m and 1 750 m.The bacterial alpha-diversity showed unimodal pattern with the decreasing DO with depths and peaked in the upper oxycline(UO) of OMZs.The bacterial community structure of the mixed layer(ML) and the bottom layer clustered and separated from each other,while those of UO and the OMZ core(OM) clustered and overlapped.Overall,bacterial community composition transitioned from being Alphaproteobacteria and Gammaproteobacteria-dominant in ML to being Gammaproteobacteria and Nitrososphaeria/Deltaproteobacteria-dominant in UO and OM,and then changed to being Clostridia and unidentified Actinobacteria-dominant in the bottom layer.Moreover,both bacterial alpha-diversity and the abundant classes fitted varying sectioned functions with DO.The DO solely explained 40.37% of the variation of bacterial community composition among layers(P0.001).The predicted function profiling showed that the water column was predominant by chemoheterotrophy,cyanobacteria,and photoautotrophy in ML,by chemoheterotrophy and nitrate/sulfide cycling in UO and OM,and by chemoheterotrophy and ferme ntation in the bottom layer.Our findings revealed the DO-associated variation in bacterial diversity and community composition,and help to clarify the potential responses of microbes and their involved biogeochemical processes to the expansion and intensification of OMZs.  相似文献

Physical oceanography plays an important role in the formation of submarine sediments,and the distribution of nutriments and biocenoses in seamounts.The M4 seamount is located in the Caroline Island Ridge of the Western Pacific Ocean.The physical properties around M4 seamount are preliminarily analyzed based on the in-situ data obtained in summer 2017 in Caroline M4 seamount and open-sourced data.We found that the water in the upper 200 m is controlled by the westward North Equatorial Current(NEC),while the water between 300-1 000 m is dominated by the eastward North Equatorial Undercurrent(NEUC).The current direction fluctuates significantly below 300 m at upstream stations.At the same depth of the lee sides,the current direction changes with the distance from seamount.These are likely caused by the obstacle of M4 seamount.The calculation results show that there is an anticyclonic cap above M4 seamount caused by tidal rectification.Tidal currents in M4 seamount are squeezed by the topography and amplified,and the amplified tidal currents play a dominant role in M4 seamount.First,the circulation system generated by the interaction of the amplified tidal current and M4 seamount drives the upward/downward movement of the isotherms.Secondly,the thickness of the surface turbulent layer is changed with the tidal phase.Thirdly,high turbulent diffusivities are found in the bottom of M4 seamount,and these are most likely attributed to the turbulent mixing induced by the mutual effect between semidiurnal tidal currents and steep bathymetry.This article of physical oceanography provides scientific basis for further analysis of the distribution of biological community and deposition mechanism in M4 seamount.  相似文献

This paper describes the large scale aspects of the seasonal surface heat budget and discusses itsmain forcing mechanisms in the tropical Western Pacific Ocean.The high-resolution generalcirculation model (Semtner & Chervin,1992)used in this study reproduced well the observed upper-layer thermal structure and circulation.It is shown that at least on the average of the study region(20°S-20°N,west boundary-160°E)the semiannual variation is a dominant signal for all heat budgetcomponents and is presumably due to the sun’s passing across the equator twice a year,but that thecomponents have substantial differences in amplitude.The local Ekman divergence in the region doesnot change significantly through the year.As a result,the change in surface heat content is roughlyhalf due to ocean-atmosphere heat exchange and half due to heat advection by remotely forced verti-cal motion.Horizontal currents do not play a significant role directly by advection,because the wat-er which enters the region is not very muc  相似文献

根据1995-2014年西北太平洋秋刀鱼渔业渔获量、单位捕捞努力量渔获量(CPUE)、其产卵场的表温(sea surface temperature,SST)及太平洋年代气候振动(Pacific Decade Oscillation,PDO),分别以PDO因子纳入和不纳入,建立基于SST因子的剩余产量模型,分析SST与PDO对秋刀鱼资源的影响。结果显示,3月产卵场132°30′E、35°30′N的SST与CPUE关系密切,可作为表征资源丰度的因子;加入PDO的影响后,SST与CPUE的关系更加密切。研究表明,秋刀鱼资源量和持续产量的变动受捕捞努力量、产卵场SST和PDO控制。建议在渔业管理中应根据各年海洋环境状况来确定最大可持续产量,并实时调整管理方案。  相似文献

Comprehensive surveys were conducted in the Kocebu deep seamount and the M4 shallow seamount in the Western Pacific Ocean in March 2018 and May 2019,respectively.The distributions of nutrients in euphotic zone of the two seamount-areas were revealed,and the causative controlling factors were analyzed.Results show that the vertical distribution of nutrients in the two seamount-areas accorded with the general law of the oligotrophic ocean.The concentrations of NO_3-N,PO_4-P,and SiO_3-Si generally increased gradually with the increase of water depth,and they were extremely low in water layers within100 m.The area of high N02-N concentration well agreed with the Deep Chlorophyll Maximum Layer.On the other hand,the distribution of water masses and phytoplankton and hydrological conditions in the two seamount-areas were different,resulting in lower concentrations of NO_3-N,PO_4-P,and SiO_3-Si in the water layers below 100 m in the Kocebu seamount area than those in the M4 seamount area.In addition,N02-N was affected by the distribution of phytoplankton,and distributed mainly in the water layers of 150 and100 m.There was upwelling in the euphotic zone of M4 seamount area,causing accumulations of nutrients and phytoplankton around the seamount,forming a "seamount effect";however,no such an effect was found in Kocebu seamount area.Affected by the composition of biological community and the "seamount effect",the nitrogen limitation in the M4 seamount area was not significant,and the dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN):PO_4-P and SiO_3-Si:DIN were closer to the Redfield ratios.  相似文献
