We discuss (n+1)-dimensional dynamical wormholes in an evolving cosmological background with a throat expanding with time. These solutions are examined in the general relativity framework. A linear relation between diagonal elements of an anisotropic energy-momentum tensor is used to obtain the solutions. The energy-momentum tensor elements approach the vacuum case when we are far from the central object for one class of solutions. Finally, we discuss the energy-momentum tensor which supports this geometry, taking into account the energy conditions.  相似文献

A search for the neutrinoless double-beta decay of 124Sn was carried out using the tin-loaded liquid scintillator for an active source-detector technique. Tin (32.6%) in weight was successfully loaded into the liquid scintillator, and light output was as high as 57% of the unloaded liquid scintillator. A tin-loaded liquid scintillator with 1.1  volume was installed at the 700 m underground laboratory in YangYang, and data were taken for 5285 h. No evidence for the 0νββ decay was found and a lower limit on the 124Sn half-life was obtained to be 2.0×1019 year with 90% C.L. The new limit represents a significant improvement with respect to those previously available for 124Sn.  相似文献

It is shown that the acceleration of the universe can be understood by considering a f(T) gravity models. Modified teleparallel gravity theory with the torsion scalar has recently gained a lot of attention as a possible explanation of dark energy. For these f(T) gravity models, a variant of the accelerating cosmology reconstruction program is developed. We consider spatially homogenous and anisotropic Bianchi type I universe in the context of f(T) gravity. The de Sitter, power-law and general exponential solutions are assumed for the scale factor in each spatial direction and the corresponding cosmological models are reconstructed. We reconstruct f(T) theories from two different holographic dark energy models in different time durations. For the holographic dark energy model, the dark energy dominated era with new setting up is chosen for reconstruction, and the Ricci dark energy model, radiation, matter and dark energy dominated time durations are all investigated. Finally we have obtained a modified gravity action consistent with the holographic dark energy scenario.  相似文献

The extragalactic diffuse emission at γ-ray energies has interesting cosmo-logical implications since these photons suffer little or no attenuation during their prop-agation from the site of origin. The emission could originate from either truly diffuse processes or from unresolved point sources such as AGNs, normal galaxies and starburst galaxies. Here, we examine the unresolved point source origin of the extragalactic γ-ray background emission from normal galaxies and starburst galaxies. γ-ray emission from normal galaxies is primarily coming from cosmic-ray interactions with interstellar mat-ter and radiation (~90%) along with a small contribution from discrete point sources (~10%). Starburst galaxies are expected to have enhanced supernovae activity which leads to higher cosmic-ray densities, making starburst galaxies sufficiently luminous at γ-ray energies to be detected by the current γ-ray mission (Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope).  相似文献

The structure of the cosmic microwave background temperature is studied in the context of a Bianchi type-V tilted cosmological model. First integrals of the equations for the null geodesics are found by use of the symmetries of the model, enabling the celestial temperature distribution to be found. The quadrupole and dipole moments are calculated for some models, suggesting that the observed anisotropy in the cosmic microwave background can be understood in the context of a Bianchi type-V model of the Universe. The apparent magnitude-redshift relations are also calculated for these models.  相似文献

We examine cosmic energy equation for extended galaxy structures on the basis of different models of universe. We also extend the power spectrum and density fluctuations for extended structure by introducing softening parameter both for linear and non-linear regimes. The results are compared with earlier results of point mass structures. It is found that softening parameters introduced in the theory influence the thermodynamic fluctuation theory. Results obtained with spectrum analysis are also compared with Riemannian geometric approach (Ruppeiner in Rev. Mod. Phys. 67:605, 1995) to the galaxy clustering. The singular solutions of thermodynamic fluctuation results can be interpreted on the basis of power spectrum analysis in terms of power index law of two point correlation function.  相似文献

A Monte Carlo program is written to compare several methods of analysis in the conventional right ascension scan, which are often used in searching for -ray point source in ultra high energy astronomy. The simulation is based on the zenith angle acceptance and the angular resolution of HEGRA array. Ten equatorial maps, each of more than 169,000 events, have been simulated. The excess-deficit distribution is found to be more compact when the background was extrapolated from region with the same acceptance as the source region. The results of the present study suggest that an off-source region should be at least six times greater than on-source window. The precision attained for a real signal from a point source is dependent on the source's bin size chosen. A window of 3°×3° or more would maximize the statistical significance of a signal for an angular resolution of 0.8°.  相似文献

Planetary nebulae (PNe) are good tracers of the stellar populations, chem-ical composition and dynamics of their host galaxies. This paper reports the dis-covery of new PNe in the outskirts of the Andromeda Galaxy (M 31) with the Guoshoujing Telescope (GSJT, formerly named the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope-LAMOST) during its early commissioning phase. In total, 36 candidates selected from SDSS photometry are confirmed in terms of their PN nature, including 17 new discoveries and another 19 previously known emission line objects. Their positions, spectra, radial velocities and m5007 magnitudes are presented.We discuss the potential for detecting more PNe in M 31 with GSJT's multi-object spectroscopy and the related applications in studies of the dynamics and chemistry of M31 and its assemblage history.  相似文献

The calculation of the Fourier transform of noise storm (NS) fluctuations showed that the power spectrum was adequately described by the expression G(F)∼1/F. Our results rule out the possibility that NS radiation is formed from random, short-term bursts (so-called type I bursts), since the spectrum of the sum of random short fluctuations is flat, but the real NS has a hyperbolic spectrum. This spectrum is monotonic and does not contain any components that exceed the level of the statistical fluctuations (i.e., the results of observations do not reveal the presence of periodic or resonant properties of the emission source). The hyperbolic shape of the spectrum shows that the main energy of a NS is contained in the slower temporal fluctuations.  相似文献

A model of pulsar emission fluctuations down to sub-microsecond time-scales is presented. The model is consistent with the empirical amplitude modulated noise model. Series of H spectra and slit-jaw H filtergrams of a quiescent prominence taken at Pic du Midi Observatory on 7 November 1977 are studied. The observations have been digitized by means of an automated Joyce Loebl microdensitometer. The image processing of the H filtergrams reveals an internal structure of the prominence consisting of several arches. Series of high-resolution H spectra obtained with the slit position located on a selected part of one of the prominence arches have been chosen for Doppler-shift analysis. The obtained time series of the line-of-sight velocity reveal large velocity variations near the periphery of the arch and a strong dependence of the velocity (in sign and magnitude) on the position along the slit. The prominence arch shows also cyclic displacements along the line-of-sight direction implying Alfvén string-mode oscillations.  相似文献

Previous work has shown the importance of induced radioactivity as a source of background counts in X- and -ray astronomy experiments which use scintillation detectors. Comprehensive data on the decay spectra observed in Caesium Iodide crystals following irradiation by 155 MeV protons has been obtained by the Imperial College group and is presented here. The spectra cover the energy loss range from 20 keV to 3.4 MeV and were collected at times after irradiation ranging from 1 min until 200 d. A sufficient selection of spectra is given to enable calculations to be made of the time variations in radioactivity which would be observed in similar space-borne detectors subjected to irradiation by inner belt and cosmic ray protons. A precise knowledge of the angular resolution of scintillator arrays used to observe extended air showers (EAS) is of key importance in the search for VHE/UHE γ point sources. Four independent methods have been used to determine the mean resolution for which a value of ΔΘ63 of 0.8°(1.0°) at a proton threshold of 50 (40) TeV has been found for the HEGRA EAS-array.  相似文献

Observed solar, interplanetary and geomagnetic time series contain quasi periodicities on scales of 1–2.5 years. The further discovery of 1.3 year fluctuations in helioseismic observations suggests that a variety of signals may be related to the underlying dynamo in the Sun. We use independent component analysis to study the temporal and spatial variations of a few statistically independent global modes of the axisymmetric solar magnetic field over a period of 25 years. Five modes capture the salient properties of the data. Two modes describe the polar and high latitude fields, and present 1–1.5 year quasi periodicities. The other three modes correspond to low and mid-latitude phenomena and show both 1.3 and 1.7-year variations. By comparing the characteristic time scales, dates of occurrence and heliocentric latitudes of these modes, we connect them to their manifestations in heliospheric time series.  相似文献

A recent survey of the fine-structure excitation of neutral carbonreveals that the interstellar medium in the Galactic plane exhibits athermal pressure, nT/k, that ranges from about 103to 104cm-3K from one location to the next, with occasional excursions in excess of about 105 cm-3K. The large excitations for small amounts of gas indicate that some regions are either subjected to shocks or must be pressurized within time scales much shorter than the time needed to reach thermal equilibrium. These rapidfluctuations probably arise from the cascade of macroscopic mechanical energyto small scales through a turbulent cascade. One consequence of thiseffect is that changes in gas temperature can arise from near adiabaticcompressions and expansions, and this may explain why investigations of21-cm emission and absorption reveal the presence of hydrogen attemperatures well below the expected values derived from the balance ofvarious known heating and cooling processes.  相似文献
