The exact solutions for the equilibrium of rotating gaseous disk with poloidal magnetic field are obtained. The stability of the disk with respect to uniform expansion and contraction is investigated by means of the variational principle. It is shown that if the equilibrium is determined by gravitational and magnetic forces only, the disk is in neutral equilibrium with respect to perturbations of the form r=r. The instability to short-waves perturbations is studied by the quasi-classical method. The analysis shows that if the magnetic field isH>2G, where is the surface density, then these perturbations are stabilized. The configurations of the electrical field induced by the rotation of magnetized disk are found. In conclusion, the questions of the evolution of the disk are discussed in connection with the quasar model when pulsar-like radiation is taken into account.

In this paper we present evidence that the 164-day period in the wavelengths of the moving lines in SS 433 has been decreasing at the surprisingly rapid rate of P = –0.010±0.002. An ephemeris of the moving lines for the 1981 observing season is provided for the case P = –0.010.  相似文献

The assumption of a linearly expanding universe for the JBD-cosmological equations generates a set of solutions for the barotropic equations of statep= (=const.). These solutions turn out to be valid for closed space-except in the casep= which is for open space. The gravitational constant which is inversely proportional to the scalar field increases with time if >–1/3 and decreases for <–1/3. No solution exists for =1/3. The Brans-Dicke parameter is negative if <–1/3.  相似文献

On the basis of observational data for the absolute R and relative R/R amplitudes of variations in radius of galactic classical cepheids (55 stars from Balona and Stobie (1979) and 30 stars from Sollazzoet al. (1981)), four kinds of empirical linear relations are obtained: log(P V)–logR, logP–logR, log(P V)–log(R/R), and logP–log(R/R);P, R, and V are the pulsation periods, the mean stellar radii, and the amplitudes of light variations, respectively. Three groups of stars are considered: short-period cepheids (SPC)-with logP1.1; long-period cepheids (LPC)-with logP>1.1; and s-cepheids (sC). Both the R values and the R/R values increase withP andP V, for a given group of variables. A comparison is performed with our results obtained from data in other sources (Kurochkin, 1966; Gieren, 1982; etc.). The investigated relations can be applied for determining R and R/R of galactic classical cepheids, by using their observedP and V. All studied galactic classical cepheids have R/R<0.35, R<10R for SPC and 10R <R60R for LPC. The sC have smaller R and R/R values than other classical cepheids, at the same periods (the difference is about 2 times for R and 1.4–2.8 times for R/R); the studied sC have R/R in the range 0.025–0.075 and R in the range 1–3R (only Y Oph has R8R ).  相似文献

Exact corotations are equilibrium points in the phase space of the asteroidal elliptic restricted problem of three bodies averaged over the synodic period, at a mean-motions resonance. If the resonant critical angle is =(p+q) jup pq, exact corotations are double resonant motions defined by the conditionsd/dt=0 andd(– jup )/dt=0. The first condition is characteristic of the periods resonance(p + q) : p and the second one is a secular resonance equivalent to that usually known as thev 5-resonance. This paper presents the symmetric solutions =0 (mod ), = jup (mod ). Corotations have a coherence property which is unique in non-collisional Celestial Mechanics: An elementary calculation shows that, in the neighbourhood of these solutions, the motions cluster aroundp independent longitude values and are, in each cluster, as close together as and are close to the equilibrium values.  相似文献

In our preceding paper {see [L. Sh. Grigorian and S. Gottlöber, Astrofizika (in press)]} we investigated a self-gravitating system consisting of a scalar field and a linear tensor field ik= ki with minimal coupling and with allowance for the action of vacuum polarization effects. In the present paper we investigate the case of a nonlinear tensor field ik. The action S () of the field ik is determined by the difference Rikik, where Rik is the space-time Ricci tensor and Rik is the analogous quantity constructed using the metric ik=gik+ik induced by ik ( is a free parameter). Here S () coincides with the previously known expression for the action of a linear field ik. Equations of motion are derived for ik in curved space-time. This paper is a continuation and a generalization of one published earlier (Duboshin, 1969): it discusses the problem whether there exist the Lagrangian and the Eulerian solutions of the generalized three-body (material points) problem. Every point in this generalized problem acts on another, one with a force (attractive or repulsive) directed along the straight line passing through these points, and in an arbitrary manner depending on time, mutual distance and its derivatives, the first and the second. Here, generally speaking, the third axiom of dynamics (law of action and reaction) is not presupposed as fulfilled, that is, it is supposed that every two material points interact in a different way.This most general assumption being made, we establish the conditions which must dictate the laws of the interactions, so that the three points can always remain at the apexes of the equilateral triangle (Langrangian solution), or remain always on a straight line (Eulerian solution).The author believes that such general treatment of the three-body problem can be useful for theoretical studies in celestial mechanics and also for practical applications in the study of isolated stellar systems.

The figure of Mercury is estimated in terms of an isostatic form of equilibrium which tends to be controlled by the situation near perihelion passage at the 32 resonance spin rate. The ratios of the principal moments of inertia for Mercury are: (1)(C–A)/C7×10–5; (2)(C–B)/C5×10–5 and (3)(B–A)/C2×10–5. The thermal effect on Mercury's figure during solidification forces Mercury's rotation to be trapped in the 32 resonance lock as its spin rate is being slowed by tidal effects. It is shown that the process of trapping of Mercury has been naturally affected by the instantaneous solidification of Mercury into a shape with two thermal bulges, and that the two permanent thermal bulges stabilize the planet's rotation.  相似文献

The distribution of times t between coronal mass ejections (CMEs) in the Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph (LASCO) CME catalog for the years 1996–2001 is examined. The distribution exhibits a power-law tail (t) with an index –2.36±0.11 for large waiting times (t>10 hours). The power-law index of the waiting-time distribution varies with the solar cycle: for the years 1996–1998 (a period of low activity), the power-law index is –1.86±0.14, and for the years 1999–2001 (a period of higher activity), the index is –2.98±0.20. The observed CME waiting-time distribution, and its variation with the cycle, may be understood in terms of CMEs occurring as a time-dependent Poisson process. The CME waiting-time distribution is compared with that for greater than C1 class solar flares in the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) catalog for the same years. The flare and CME waiting-time distributions exhibit power-law tails with very similar indices and time variation.  相似文献

The recently discovered phenomena in polars — Magnetic Close Binary Stars (MCBS), are discussed. Asynchronous MCBS are on the propeller stage (which is analogous to the investigated one for neutron stars), and are synchronizing during tS103 yr, being during this stage rapidly evolving, mass ejecting systems. The accretion rate is largest when the angle between the magnetic axis and the line of centers is near zero. If 90°, then the magnetic field prevents the plasma flow, and the magnetic valve becomes closed. Near this position the oscillations of the orientation of the white dwarf's magnetic axis may be excited. This model of a swinging dipole has such observational properties: (a) the system's luminosity changes with characteristical times of some years; (b) the phase curves of light, polarization and radial velocities must be cyclically changing with a few year cycle; (c) one would observe the correlation between the phase shift of these curves, and the system's luminosity. The observational data on polars are briefly discussed. All these phenomena are observed in AM Herculis and some other polars, but subsequent studies are needed to investigate the orientation changes of the magnetic axis, and so the structure and evolution of this exotic class of our Galaxy population.Paper presented at the IAU Colloquium No. 93 on Cataclysmic Variables. The cosmic scatter of 147 of the best known visual binary stars on the Main Sequence is discussed and a new estimation of the luminosity distribution function for multiple star systems is presented. As long as the mass ratioq of a close binary is not smaller than 0.5, the distribution of close binary components is identical to the van Rhijn liminosity-function. For smaller mass ratios (q<0.5) the number of close companions decreases rapidly. Two sets of accurate approximate expressions for the gyrosynchrotron radiation in the transverse propagation case are presented for the first time. They contain emissivity /BNand absorptivity B/Nfor e-mode, effective temperature T effand frequency of peak brightness p. The expressions are designed for the range 2 to 7 of electron energy spectral index and for the ranges from 2 to 10 and 10 to 100 of harmonic numbers s(=/B). Their statistical error is, respectively, ±18% and ±29% for /BNand B/Nfor 10/B100, ±128% and and ±170% for 2/B10.  相似文献
