Based on the application of the region-matching technique, an analytical approach is presented for the scattering of plane SH waves from a shallow symmetrical V-shaped canyon, and then a series solution is derived. The analysed region is divided into an enclosed and an open region by introducing a semi-circular auxiliary boundary. In each region, the displacement field can be expressed as infinite sum of appropriate wavefunctions satisfying partial boundary conditions, respectively. The unknown coefficients can be determined by enforcing the continuity conditions in connection with the Graf's addition formula. The frequency- and time-domain responses are both evaluated and displayed for several physical parameters. From graphical results, the effects of the canyon depth on surface ground motion are conspicuous. The proposed series solutions can serve as benchmark for numerical methods, in particular for those at much higher frequencies.  相似文献

Summary. We demonstrate a method of performing linear programming optimizations of functionals of subsurface temperature, when thermal conductivity is a known piecewise-constant function. Data comprise heat flow measurements on the flat isothermal surface of this structure, within which heat transfer is by steady-state conduction. Two-dimensionality is assumed. The approach involves establishing constraints which demand the continuity of temperature and the normal component of heat flow across all internal boundaries. These unknown functions are expanded as truncated Fourier series whose coefficients become unknowns of the linear programming solution vector; linear relations are established between these coefficients which guarantee harmonicity of temperature in each region of uniform conductivity, as well as the continuity requirements. Variations of the formalism are detailed for three simple types of geometry. As an example the method is applied to a heat flow data set from Sass, Killeen & Mustonen over the Quirke Lake Syncline of Ontario, Canada.  相似文献

Summary. High-frequency reflection and refraction seismograms for laterally variable multi-layered elastic media are computed by using the frequency domain elastic Kirchhoff–Helmholtz (KH) theory of Frazer and Sen. Both source and receiver wavefields are expanded in series of generalized rays and then elastic (KH) theory is applied to determine the coupling between each source ray and each receiver ray at each interface. The motion at the receiver is given as a series of integrals, one for each generalized ray. We use geometrical optics and plane wave reflection and transmission coefficients for rapid evaluation of the integrand. When the source or the receiver ray field has caustics on the surface of integration geometrical ray theory breaks down and this gives rise to singularities in the KH integrand. We repair this using methods suggested by Frazer and Sen.
Examples of reflection seismograms for 2-D structures computed by elastic KH theory are shown. Those for a vertical fault scarp structure are compared with the seismograms obtained by physical modelling. Then OBS data obtained from the mid-America trench offshore Guatemala area are analysed by computing KH synthetics for a velocity model that has been proposed for that area. Our analysis indicates the existence of a small low-velocity zone off the trench axis.
No head wave arrivals are obtained in our KH synthetics since we do not consider multiple interactions of a ray with an interface. The nearly discontinuous behaviour of elastic R/T coefficients near the critical angle causes small spurious phases which arrive later than the correct arrivals.  相似文献

Summary . The spectral function of a perfectly elastic, horizontally stratified medium has been demonstrated previously to provide an attractive formulation to describe the properties of the one-dimensional synthetic seismogram (Robinson & Treitel). Here we examine the mathematical framework of the Model in still greater detail. Knowledge of this fine structure of the synthetic seismogram leads to the solution of two particular seismic inverse problems. First, we consider a layered medium with an arbitrary surface reflection coefficient c o, where | c o|<1, and which contains an impulsive source immediately above the surface. Given the corresponding synthetic seismogram, we develop an inverse, or backward recursion formalism which recovers the entire series of original reflection coefficients. Second, we consider a similar problem for an impulsive source located just below the surface. Both inversion procedures constitute a continuation of the work of Goupillaud and of Sherwood & Trorey, and represent a generalization of the classical technique originally proposed by Kunetz which, however, only holds for the marine case, co =±1. The present approach is not so constrained and thereby becomes applicable to land seismograms as well.
If products of third or higher order in the reflection coefficients can be neglected, significant simplifications arise in the theory. In that event the usual representation of the synthetic seismogram as a ratio of two polynomials in the complex variable z becomes particularly revealing. The numerator polynomial is then approximately equal to the z transform of the reflection coefficient series, while the denominator polynomial is approximately equal to the z transform of the autocorrelation of these reflection coefficients. The resulting simplified theory affords important computational savings in the appropriate backward recursion algorithms.  相似文献

受地质构造、地层产状和岩性的共同影响,太行山中段山地地貌演化过程中,坡面发育模式产生了明显的分异:以华北准地台的吕梁期不整合面为界,基底层坡面发育以Davis模式为主,沟谷发育为垂直下切,地貌体垂直尺度小于水平尺度,地貌营力以流水为主,坡面侵蚀占主导地位,地表侵蚀强度低山区大于丘陵区,丘陵区大于台地区;盖层坡面发育以Penck模式为主,沟谷发育方式为横向侧切,地貌体垂直尺度远大于水平尺度,地貌营力重力占主导地位,侵蚀方式以崩塌为主。在晚第三纪以来的地貌演化过程中,陡崖平均后退速率为1.35mm/a。  相似文献

The effect of anisotropy on the distribution of Earth's conductivity is evaluated by calculating the electromagnetic response of multilayered 2-D structures. The electric and magnetic fields are expanded in terms of Fourier series, the coefficients being obtained by applying the corresponding boundary conditions on each interface, given by arbitrary analytical functions. The second marvel to catch the eye of the visitor to Kärkevagge, after the impressive boulder deposit on the floor of the valley, is the series of prominent white stripes running down the valley's dark cliffs. Streams and springs descending the eastern flank of Kärkevagge are marked by the presence of whitish coatings on the black rock surfaces and on cobbles lining ephemeral waterways. These were referred to as 'lime crusts' by early investigators, but they are not reactive to HCl. We believe that they are a precipitate resulting from acid attack on the local rocks. Pyrite is common in many of the rocks in the valley and its oxidation produces sulfuric acid. As the dissolved mineral elements are carried in the drainage water, efflorescence forms on the surfaces where the water flows due to evaporation or to changes in temperature. The exact mineralogy of the white crusts is unknown, but the crusts are dominated by Al, S, and O, and in some cases by Ca, depending on the substrate and local conditions. Gypsum, illite, and chlorite have been identified by X–ray diffraction of some scrapings of white–coated rocks. However, we believe that some unidentified oxy–hydroxy aluminum sulfates make up the bulk of the precipitates.  相似文献

The derivation of seismic reflection and transmission coefficients is generally based on the assumption that the medium parameters behave as step functions of depth, at least in a finite region around the interface. However, outliers observed in well logs generally behave quite differently from step functions. In this paper we represent an interface by a self-similar singularity, embedded between two homogeneous half-spaces, and we derive its frequency-dependent normal-incidence reflection and transmission coefficients. For ω  → 0 the expressions for the coefficients reduce to those for a discrete boundary between two homogeneous half-spaces; for ω → ∞ they become frequency-independent. These asymptotic expressions have a relatively simple form and depend on the singularity exponent α .
  The exact as well as the asymptotic expressions are used to evaluate the time-domain reflection and transmission responses of a self-similar interface. Finally, we use a numerical method to model the response of a smoothed version of a self-similar interface (note that the velocity of a smoothed singularity remains finite). It turns out that smoothing has hardly any effect on the response, provided that the smoothing does not affect the scales corresponding to the seismic frequency range.  相似文献

依据库姆塔格沙漠东北缘地表水和地下水水文、水化学和同位素相关数据,分析探讨了沙漠东北缘地下水的主要补给来源。结果表明,水体与周边流域地表水并无直接联系,主要受到南部山区贫重同位素水体的补给,但补给过程缓慢,因此,对周边地区水资源的开发非常敏感。根据地势条件和水文地质条件,祁连山沿党河洪积扇到谷地冲湖积平原可能存在一条地下水补给路径,冰雪融水和降水渗透到地下,沿党河洪积扇最终补给到疏勒河谷地。  相似文献

斜坡单元已广泛应用于滑坡易发性制图和地质灾害评价。然而在山间盆地或大型宽谷处,常规方法划分出的斜坡单元与地貌背景难以匹配。依据高程及其衍生变量的基本形态系统和曲率的流域分割原理,基于ArcGIS技术,通过叠加曲率和反转曲率的流域边界,改进了斜坡单元划分方法。结果表明:与常规方法相比,改进方法不仅能够使用山脊线和山谷线以划分斜坡单元,还能利用台地边界和宽谷边界以分割水平地表与倾斜地表;划分出的单元大小相对均匀,单元形状总体介于圆形和正三角形之间。对于水平成分较多的地区,如黄土塬区和水库库区,该方法与传统方法相比,具有较好的应用前景。  相似文献

Summary. An analytical solution is obtained for the E-polarization problem of electromagnetic induction in two adjacent half-sheets underlain by a uniform conducting half-space. In this mode the inducing magnetic field is assumed horizontal, uniform and perpendicular to the discontinuity. The same model was previously solved under B-polarization by Dawson & Weaver. The present solution then completes the study of two-dimensional induction in the described model. Further, it extends both the analytic E-polarization solution of Weidelt by the inclusion of an underlying conductor and that of Raval, Weaver & Dawson by the inclusion of arbitrary conductance values for the two surface sheets. The solution may be used as an idealized model of the coast effect and allows detailed study of the field behaviour near the discontinuity. The horizontal magnetic field on each side of the surface layer has a finite jump discontinuity at the interface and the vertical magnetic field exhibits a logarithmic singularity there. If the right-hand conductance (say) becomes infinite, the horizontal magnetic field exhibits an algebraic singularity as the coastline is approached from the right, while the vertical magnetic field does likewise from the left. Calculations are presented for the same two models as discussed in B-polarization by Dawson & Weaver and the results are compared to values obtained from a more general numerical scheme. The electric current distribution inside the conducting half-space is depicted for the second model.  相似文献

根据60个地面基本气象台站1957-1992年逐日雪深观测记录,用统计模式检验了青藏高原积雪变化趋势,证明近36年来高原积雪变化呈普遍增加趋势,并且与北球冬季气温呈正相关,高原积雪的增加与北半球温带低地春季积雪面积自80年代后期的减少形成了鲜明的对比,与两个大陆冰盖雪积累率的增加相一致。  相似文献

博尔塔拉谷地有三个断陷盆地,形成三个天然地下水库,使地表径流与地下径流出现三次转化,对径流起到了调节作用和滞后影响。改变了径流的年内分配,上游和支流丰水期出现在夏季,径流经谷地转化调节,下游丰水期出现在冬季,滞后近半年。博尔塔拉谷地对径流的调节作用,在新疆各谷地中最为典型。  相似文献

为满足水污染控制规划和流域水资源保护工作的需要,以几个流域的非点源污染监测资料为基础,建立了TP、TN等营养物的非点源污染负荷—泥沙定量关系,相关系数高达0.9以上。以渭河的支流黑河和陕南的汉江流域为例,具体说明了污染负荷—泥沙关系法的应用步骤和预测结果,并与水质水量相关法的结果进行了对照。结果表明,该方法可用于次暴雨及不同频率代表年的非点源营养负荷量预测。  相似文献

The interaction of plane elastic waves with a plane boundary between two anisotropic elastic half-spaces is investigated. The anisotropy dealt with in this study is of a general type. Explicit expressions for energy-related reflection and transmission coefficients are derived. They represent an approximation which is valid for a small deviation of the elastic parameters from isotropy.
Classical perturbation theory is applied on a 6times6 non-symmetric real eigenvalue problem to calculate first-order corrections for the polarization and stress of the plane waves. The explicit solution of the isotropic problem is used as a reference case. Degenerate perturbation theory is used to consider the splitting of the isotropic S -wave into two anisotropic qS-waves. The boundary conditions for two half-spaces in welded contact lead to a 6times6 system of linear equations. A correction to the isotropic solution is calculated by linearization. The resultant coefficients are functions of horizontal slowness, Lamé parameters and densities of the reference media, and of the perturbation of the elasticity tensors from isotropy.  相似文献

Summary. A coupled mode theory is used to examine surface wave propagation in a laterally inhomogeneous acoustic waveguide. The theory is developed from the equations of motion for the pressure and velocity fields. The presence of lateral inhomogeneities in the form of varying layer thickness causes coupling among the discrete modes of the waveguide and radiation to the continuum. Expressions for the coupling coefficients among all mode types including coupling to the continuum spectrum are derived. The coupling coefficients are proportional to the horizontal derivative of the function describing the interface between layers of constant material properties but varying thickness. The coupled mode equations are solved in approximation for the case of a sinusoidal boundary and a sloping boundary. The results for radiation losses due to interaction with the irregular boundary of the waveguide are presented in analytical form, which clearly show the primary physical effects on the wavefield of the interaction. The far field amplitude of the scattered modes, excited by the interaction of some incident signal with a weak boundary irregularity, is modulated by the spatial Fourier transform of the irregularity.  相似文献
