Monthly wavenumber spectra of sea surface temperatures (SST) have been estimated in two regions near the Kuroshio, in the
recirculation and the Kuroshio Extension regions, using the merged SST product to determine the statistical parameter (spatial
decorrelation scale) required for optimal interpolation of a high-resolution SST dataset. The two-dimensional wavelet transform
was used for analysis. Estimates were made of daily mean and daily minimum SSTs. These do not significantly differ, which
suggests that the same covariance matrix can be used for the daily mean and minimum in the merging procedure. The seasonality
of wavenumber spectra is significant. There are also large differences between those in the recirculation region and in the
Kuroshio Extension region. Therefore, it is recommended that the covariance matrix in the merging process for high-resolution
SST dataset be defined as a function of time and space. Improvements of the merging methodology are discussed.

In the previous study, merged sea surface temperature (SST) dataset called “New Generation SST” has been produced from several
infrared and microwave satellite SSTs through an objective mapping. Here we examine the merged SST by comparison with moored
buoy SST at 1 m depth, which is treated as true sea surface temperature. Comparison between wavelet spectra of merged and
buoy SSTs shows that the former have larger amplitudes than those of the latter, which is partly explained as an aliasing
effect due to TRMM Microwave Imager (TMI) aboard Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) sampling on merged products. Coherency
between wavelet-decomposed merged and buoy SSTs has high values in autumn and low ones in winter to spring. In winter, phase
differences between them are positive, meaning that wavelet components of merged SST lag those of buoy SST. Reasons for delay
and low coherency are: (1) seasonal components of merged SSTs are strongly affected by a lack of infrared SSTs due to clouds
in winter, and (2) small-scale oceanic features, undetectable by coarse-resolution microwave SSTs, are blurred by the merging
process. Improvements of merging methodology are discussed with regard to present study results. 相似文献

Various kinds of datasets, such as satellite-derived sea surface temperature (SST), sea surface height, surface velocity produced
by combining surface drifter and satellite altimeter data, and hydrographic data, led to the discovery of an anticyclonic
eddy with lower SST than those of surrounding waters in the Kuroshio recirculation region south of Shikoku, as if the eddy
were cyclonic. This anticyclonic eddy was formed east of Kyushu in late August to early September 1999 from the merger of
two anticyclonic eddies which had migrated in the recirculation region to the sea south of Japan from the east. After the
merger, the anticyclonic eddy strengthened abruptly and began to exhibit the low SST. In October, this eddy coalesced with
the Kuroshio and moved swiftly eastward, accompanied by an amplitude growth of the Kuroshio meander. In mid November, off
the Kii Peninsula, the eddy detached from the meandering Kuroshio. It then moved southwestward and again slowly propagated
westward along the 30°N line. During this period, at least from late October 1999 to January 2000, SSTs over the anticyclonic
eddy were found to be continuously lower than those of surrounding waters. This case tells us that we have to pay careful
attention to the interpretation of mesoscale SST distributions.

基于1992年4个航次的水文调查资料,运用改进逆方法计算了东海黑潮的流速、流量和热通量.计算结果表明:(1)PN断面黑潮在春季和秋季都有两个流核,冬季和夏季则只有一个流核.主核心皆位于坡折处.Vmax值春季最大,冬季和夏季次之,而秋季最小.黑潮以东及以下都存在逆流.(2)TK断面黑潮在冬季为两核,春、夏季为3核.海峡南端及海峡深处存在西向逆流.(3)通过A断面的对马暖流Vmax值在秋季最大,冬季最小.黄海暖流位于其西侧,相对较弱.(4)通过PN断面净北向流量夏季最大,秋季最小,而冬、春季介于上述二者之间,1992年四季平均值为28.0×106m3/s;TK断面的净东向流量也是在夏季最大;A断面净北向流量则在秋季最大.(5)PN断面4个航次的平均热通量为2.03×1015W.TK断面3个航次的平均热通量为2.00×1015W.(6)在计算海区,冬、春和秋季都是由海洋向大气放热;夏季则从大气吸热.冬季海面上热交换率最大,而夏季热交换率最小.关键词##4东海;;黑潮;;季节变化 相似文献

Trajectories of mesoscale eddies in the Kuroshio recirculation region were investigated by using sea surface height (SSH)
anomaly observed by the TOPEX/POSEIDON and ERS altimeters. Cyclonic and anticyclonic eddies have been traced on maps of the
filtered SSH anomaly fields composed from the altimeter observations every ten days. Both the cyclonic and anticyclonic eddies
propagate westward in the Kuroshio recirculation region from a region south of the Kuroshio Extension. The propagation speed
of these eddies has been estimated as about 7 cm s−1, which is much faster than the phase speed theoretically estimated for the baroclinic first-mode Rossby wave in the study
area. It was also found that in the Izu-Ogasawara Ridge region, most of eddies pass through the gap between the Hachijojima
Island and Ogasawara (Bonin) Islands, and some of the eddies decay around the Izu-Ogasawara Ridge. It seems that the trajectory
of the eddies is crucially affected by the bottom topography. In the region south of Shikoku and east of Kyushu, some of the
eddies coalesce with the Kuroshio. It is also suggested that this coalescence may trigger the path variation of the Kuroshio
in the sea south of Japan.

The processes underlying the development of the Kuroshio large meanders that occurred in 1986 and 1989 are investigated using
a satellite SST data set and hydrographic data. In both processes visible on the satellite SST images, a round-shaped, lower
SST region with a diameter of about 200 km is found to the east of the Kuroshio small “trigger” meander (Solomon, 1978) until
the region became extinguished near theEnshu Nada. The lower SST region can be interpreted as an anti cyclonic eddy, mainly because of the existence of a warm water mass in
the subsurface layer of this region. The warm water mass is characterized by a constant temperature of 18–19°C, the maximum
thickness of which is about 400 m. The satellite images show that the eddy is closely related to the Kuroshio path transforming
into a shape like the letter “S”. This means that the eddy plays an important role in the development of the Kuroshio large
meander since this, too, tends to follow an “S”-shaped path. Added to this, the subsurface layer structure of the eddy is
similar to that of the warm water mass offShikoku. This similarity, together with the eddy behavior visible on the satellite SST images, implies that the examined eddy corresponds
to the warm water mass offShikoku. In other words, the warm water mass offShikoku can be advected near to theEnshu Nada when the Kuroshio large meander occurs. 相似文献

应用POM2K模式对中国海黑潮区气候态平均环流进行了数值模拟。采用正交曲线网格, 模式区域为太平洋海盆, 特别的在中国海区域进行加密并较好的拟合了岸线; 垂向分为21层, 并在海表9层以上采用对数网格分布; 采用COADS气候态月平均的风应力, 并将模式的温度结果和MODIS月平均的SST数据进行同化, 然后将模式模拟出的流量、海表高度异常同实测数据和卫星观测数据进行了对比验证, 结果均显示模拟结果可信度较高。接着本文探讨了北赤道流分岔位置季节性的变化对源区黑潮流量的影响, 结果表明, 秋冬季节北赤道流分岔位置较靠北, 源区黑潮流量较大, 而春夏季节北赤道流分岔位置较靠南, 黑潮流量较小。在此基础上, 针对源区黑潮的动力机制进行了数值实验。实验中主要考虑了以下动力因子对源区黑潮季节性变化的影响: (1)风应力; (2)非线性; (3)黑潮的斜压敏感性, 然后通过与控制实验的对比, 讨论了不同的动力因素对吕宋海峡净流量和吕宋海峡上层环流场的影响。 相似文献

本文依据第5次耦合模式比较计划(CMIP5)中的8个模式历史模拟与典型浓度(RCP4.5)试验的结果,探讨了1980—1999年东海海表温度(SST)持续增加的原因,预估了未来东海SST对温室气体持续增加的响应。研究表明:这8个模式都能模拟东海在1980—1999年有显著的SST持续增暖现象,集合平均后这20年增暖的速率为2.25℃/100a。而在RCP4.5试验中,8个模式集合平均后在2006—2055年这50年期间东海SST增暖的速率为2.32℃/100a。在历史模拟中,在1980—1999年期间东海SST持续增长的主要原因是海洋平流热输送加强,而大气调整导致的海面热通量影响比海洋平流热输送的影响小一个量级。在单纯温室气体增加的RCP4.5试验中,除了海洋平流热输送外,由于大气调整导致海面潜热、感热释放减少也是SST持续升温的主要原因之一,其贡献可以与海洋平流热输送加强同量级。对比分析模式对过去的模拟和未来单一强迫的情景试验结果,可以初步确定,在1980—1999年期间由于太平洋年代际变化导致的东海黑潮平流热输送增加是该阶段东海SST持续增加的主要机制。 相似文献

利用卫星资料分析黄海海表温度的年际与年代际变化 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
海表温度长期变化在一定程度上反映了海域的气候变化信号,卫星遥感资料是获取高时空分辨率水温长期变化的有效手段。基于国家海洋局1982—1999年黄海断面监测器测数据的2 954组水温数据对时空匹配的卫星(NOAA/AVHRR)反演海表温度(SST)进行校验,计算得到卫星反演SST系统偏差为(0.18±1.00)℃。卫星反演的水温空间分布以及长期变化趋势与器测趋势较为一致,可以用来研究海域SST长期变化规律。利用校验后1982-01~2011-08NOAA/AVHRR的SST数据,分析了该时段黄海冬夏季代表月2、8月海表水温的变化规律。结果显示:(1)近30a,黄海冬季水温有2次跃迁:1989—1990年由冷至暖的状态跃迁,2000-2001年出现由暖至冷的状态转变;1990年代冬季水温达最高,相比1880年代,水温升高1.07℃,新世纪水温稍有降低,水温较1990年代下降了0.53℃,温度变化较大区域位于北黄海、山东半岛沿岸,苏北浅滩毗邻海区,该区SST与局地经向风场存在显著正相关,且北极涛动通过影响冬季风间接影响黄海水温变化;(2)夏季海表水温在1994—1995年呈现由冷至暖的状态跃迁,冷、暖期水温相差0.57℃,水温变化较显著的区域为黄东海分界处,其具体变化机制需深入研究。 相似文献

Using observational data of Argos satellite-tracked drifters from 1988 to 2012, we analyzed seasonal characteristics of the surface Kuroshio branch(KB) intrusion into the South China Sea(SCS). The analysis results are as follows.The surface KB originates from the southern Balintang Channel(BLTC) and Babuyan Channel(BBYC). It begins in late September, reaches peak strength in November–December, and declines at the end of March. The mean speed of drifters along the KB path during their traverse of the Luzon Strait(LS) was 43% faster than during the two days before entering the LS for the flow originating from the southern BLTC, but there was a 24% increase in speed for the flow from the BBYC. The observations show that in winter, monthly-mean sea-level anomalies(SLAs) were positive southwest of Taiwan Island and extended to the northern LS. The SLAs were negative northwest of Luzon Island and extended to the southern LS, which acted like a pump, forcing a part of Kuroshio water westward into the SCS. The condition under which the KB forms was solved by a set of simplified motion equations. The results indicate that whether the KB can form depends upon the sea-level gradient at the central LS and region to the west, as well as the location, speed and direction of Kuroshio surface water when it enters the LS. 相似文献

Mesoscale Eddies Observed by TOLEX-ADCP and TOPEX/POSEIDON Altimeter in the Kuroshio Recirculation Region South of Japan 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Mesoscale eddies in the Kuroshio recirculation region south of Japan have been investigated by using surface current data measured by an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) installed on a regular ferry shuttling between Tokyo and Chichijima, Bonin Islands, and sea surface height anomaly derived from the TOPEX/POSEIDON altimeter. Many cyclonic and anticyclonic eddies were observed in the region. Spatial and temporal scales of the eddies were determined by lag-correlation analyses in space and time. The eddies are circular in shape with a diameter of 500 km and a temporal scale of 80 days. Typical maximum surface velocity and sea surface height anomaly associated with the eddies are 15–20 cm s–1 and 15 cm, respectively. The frequency of occurrence, temporal and spatial scales, and intensity are all nearly the same for the cyclonic and anticyclonic eddies, which are considered to be successive wave-like disturbances rather than solitary eddies. Phase speed of westward propagation of the eddies is estimated as 6.8 cm s–1, which is faster than a theoretical estimate based on the baroclinic first-mode Rossby wave with or without a mean current. The spatial distribution of sea surface height variations suggests that these eddies may be generated in the Kuroshio Extension region and propagate westward in the Kuroshio recirculation region, though further studies are needed to clarify the generation processes. 相似文献

基于遥感数据,采用功率谱和相关性分析等方法,研究了长江口邻近海域海表温度(SST)的时空变化特征以及影响因素。结果表明:1982—2017年长江口邻近海域的SST 整体表现为每10 a升温约0.48 °C的趋势,且具有10.0,3.6,2.4和1.0 a的振荡周期。长期以来,冬、春、夏、秋四季的长江口邻近海域SST总体呈现升温趋势,其中春季的升温趋势最显著,而秋季变化趋势最不明显。研究海区的SST呈现明显西北—东南向温度递增的分布特征。此外,长江口径流量的变化对邻近海域的SST具有一定影响,从多年变化来看,径流量增大(减小),长江口邻近海域SST随之升高(降低),从月变化来看,3月、4月和9月的长江径流对SST有影响。气温对SST具有一定的强迫作用,大气温度的总体趋势是升高的,通过海气相互作用进行热传输,从而造成长江口邻近海域SST升温。 相似文献

1984年6月和1985年12月,对东海进行了首次黑潮实验性调查.整个调查区涉及到东海及东海黑潮区。作为综合调查项目其中之一的生物调查,在全调查区进行了取样:冬、夏两航次共采集浮游动物样品115份,经分析共鉴定出莹虾类4种。夏季(6月)出现中型莹虾 Luciferintermedius、正型莹虾 Lucifer typus、刷状莹虾 Lnckfer penicillifer、东方莹虾 Lucifer oriental-is;冬季(12月)出现中型莹虾 Lucifer intermedius、正型莹虾 Lucifer typus,可以明显地看出莹虾类的数量分布和种类分布与水温、营养盐、水团、流系等之间有密切的关系。并且莹虾类的数量分布与渔场的位置也有一定关系。据本次调查及资料分析,夏季可将中型莹虾作为东海混合水的指标种;正型莹虾可作为黑潮水的指标种;刷状莹虾可作为台湾暖流的指标种,为水文的调查提供较有价值的参考. 相似文献

近年来的现场观测和理论研究发现, 次中尺度现象广泛存在于上层海洋, 其产生与锋生作用及混合层斜压不稳定存在密切联系。本文利用高分辨率的数值模拟结果并结合动力学及能量诊断分析, 对黑潮延伸体海域次中尺度过程的季节变化进行了探讨。探讨结果表明, 黑潮延伸体海域次中尺度过程具有冬季最强, 春季和秋季次之, 夏季最弱的显著季节变化特征。基于冬、夏季次中尺度能量源的诊断可以看到, 这些季节变化特征主要与上层海洋的斜压不稳定和锋生作用有关。冬季, 黑潮延伸体海域的中尺度能量较弱, 但次中尺度过程在季节尺度上表现最为活跃, 这主要与混合层斜压不稳定的作用有关; 夏季, 黑潮延伸体海域的混合层较浅, 次中尺度过程较弱, 但中尺度涡旋活跃, 中尺度流场变形引起的锋生作用对夏季次中尺度现象的产生具有重要影响。在次中尺度能量的季节变化方面, 冬季次中尺度过程从中尺度过程汲取能量的速率远高于夏季, 这是冬季次中尺度过程比夏季更为活跃的主要原因。本文研究结果有助于加深对黑潮延伸体海域次中尺度过程季节性变化及其动力机制的理解。 相似文献
