We present the results of monitoring the H2O masers in the IR sources IRAS 18265-1517 and IRAS 18277-1516 associated with the cool molecular cloud L 379, which contains high-velocity bipolar molecular jets. The sources were observed in the 1.35 cm H2O line using the 22-m radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Russia) during 1991–2004. We detected H2O maser emission from IRAS 18265-1517 at radial velocities of 17.8 and 18.4 km/s, virtually coincident with the velocity of the molecular cloud derived from CO-line observations (18.4 km/s). The maser emission towards the other source, IRAS 18277-1516, was at higher velocities than the central velocity of the CO molecular cloud. The H2O maser spots are most likely associated with a redshifted region of CO emission. Cyclic variability of the integrated H2O maser emission that may be related to cyclic activity of the central star was detected for IRAS 18277-1516. The strongest and most long-lived component (VLSR ≈ 20.6 km/s) displays a radial-velocity drift, which could be due to deceleration of a dense clump of matter (maser condensation) in the circumstellar medium during the descending branch of a strong flare. We found numerous emission features for both IRAS 18265-1517 and IRAS 18277-1516, providing evidence for fragmentation of the medium surrounding their central objects.  相似文献

We have mapped three star-forming regions (G265.14+1.45, G269.16?1.14, G291.27?0.71) in the CS(3–2) and C34S(2–1) lines using the 15 m SEST telescope (Chile), and analyzed the relative positions of methanol and H2O masers, IRAS sources, and emission maxima in the CS lines. In most cases, the maser positions are close to those of the IRAS sources. We compared the radial velocities of the maser sources and high-density CS cores, and estimated the CS column densities assuming LTE. The sizes, densities, and masses of the dense core are estimated; the masses obtained in the LTE approximation agree with the virial masses.  相似文献

This paper analyzes the variation of meridional temperature gradient (MTG) over mid-latitude and high-latitude of Northern Hemisphere continents during last 100 years using observational data. It is found that MTG over high-latitude of Northern Hemisphere continents has an increasing trend, but the simulation results of CMIP5 models show a decreasing trend. Results of this study showed the decrease of MTG over the high-latitude continents of Northern Hemisphere calculated by CMIP5 historical simulations mainly because the models of CMIP5 exaggerated ice-albedo feedback over high-latitude regions. A series of simulation results by energy balance climate models showed that ice-albedo feedback amplified the magnitude of warming in the global warming induced only by carbon dioxide, and the magnitude of warming in high latitude was much larger than that in low-latitude regions. Along with global warming, ice-albedo feedback has little influence on MTG in low-latitude, but can induce the decrease of MTG in high-latitude regions.  相似文献

A catalog of class I methanol masers discovered so far in the Southern and Northern hemispheres is presented. The catalog contains 160 sources. A statistical analysis shows that, within 2’ of the telescope pointing (which corresponds approximately to the field of view of single antennas used in search surveys), 50% of class I methanol masers are associated with objects characteristic of active starforming regions: IRAS sources, ultracompact HII regions, and dense gas—dust clouds, as well as OH and H2O interstellar masers. At the same time, bipolar outflows (which could play an active part in pumping the methanol masers) are associated with fewer than 25% of class I methanol masers. In 72% of cases, class I methanol masers are associated with class II methanol maser sources. These results suggest that methanol maser condensations are more appropriately classified by the transition type (that is, the pumping mechanism) than their association with other astronomical objects.  相似文献

Assessing precision and accuracy of atmospheric emission inventories   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
Assuming that state-of-the-art air quality models are accurate, then the precision and accuracy of their results directly depend on the precision and accuracy of their geographical, meteorological and emission input data. There are important applications, such as open pit mining, in which emission data are the main source of uncertainty. In such cases, historical air quality experimental data are typically available. The present work proposes a backward air quality simulation approach to assess the accuracy of emission inventories for these applications, with the goal of identifying sources that are over or underestimated. This approach consists of finding constants of the linear combination of the estimated emission that maximize R 2 and make the slope equal to one in the linear correlation analysis when the results from the air quality model are compared to the experimental measurements of air quality. This methodology was applied to the case of the mining region in northern Colombia. As one of the largest open pit coal mining regions in the world, this region consists of seven independent mines with no relevant additional sources of emission. Use of the proposed methodology allowed quantification of the amount by which companies over or underestimated their emission, as well as quantification of uncertainties due to sources not considered in the model but that locally affect each monitoring station.  相似文献

We report the detection of long-lived sources of radio bursts accompanied by polarized background emission in solar active regions. Both types of radio sources were detected at several decimeter wavelengths in observations on the RATAN-600 radio telescope in one-dimensional scans in intensity and circular polarization with a sensitivity of about 5–10 Jy. The degree of polarization is from 70 to 100%. The microburst and background sources exist for several days and appear at sites of prolonged energy release. The typical duration of an individual microburst is about 1–2 s, and the time interval between microbursts is about 3–5 s. A negative microburst frequency drift of about 100 MHz/s or more is also observed. Some interpretations of the microburst and background sources are discussed. The most probable microburst model involves the generation of radio emission via the plasma mechanism, with the upward propagation of fast electrons above an active region. In this case, the required energy of the Langmuir waves is 2×10?8 of the heat energy of the background plasma. Microbursts appear in different places in an active region. New methods for determining the magnetic-field intensity in the regions of generation of the decimeter-wavelength emission are proposed.  相似文献

A cross-identification of objects in the low-frequency (365 MHz) Texas radio catalog and in IRAS catalogs at four infrared wavelengths has yielded a list of 715 objects for further studies. Objects with steep spectra for which the difference in the centers of gravity of the radio and infrared sources was less than 3″ were selected from this list. Seventeen of the objects have been observed at six wavelengths using the RATAN-600 radio telescope. Spectra of nine objects from the initial list for which there were candidate optical counterparts were obtained using the 2.1-m telescope of the INAOE. The results of these observations are discussed. The presence of steep spectral indices for the radio sources is confirmed. The possible optical counterparts include interacting galaxies, an infrared galaxy, two emission-line galaxies, and a candidate BL Lac object. Optical images of the optical counterparts are presented together with radio and optical spectra.  相似文献

Strong flares of the H2O maser emission in sources associated with active star-forming regions are analyzed. The main characteristics of 13 flares in nine sources selected using special criteria are presented. The observed phenomena are explained as flares in double emission features. The approach of two emission features in the spectrum with increasing flux and their recession with decreasing flux is explained using a model with two physically related clumps of material that are partially superposed in the line of sight. Calculations have shown that, in this type of model, exponential amplification (unsaturated maser emission) in the overlapping parts of the clumps can produce the observed line narrowing with increasing flux. In most cases, the maser spots are inhomogeneous. During the evolution of some flares, the maser condensations may split into separate fragments. A less catastrophic evolutionary path may be an initial stage of formation of chainlike structures, which are fairly widespread in envelopes around ultracompact HII regions.  相似文献

The main results of polarization observations in the 530.3-nm line and their role in studying the physical conditions, structure, and magnetic field in the solar corona are discussed. A serious discrepancy between the observations and widely-accepted theoretical concepts was revealed: the theory predicts that the orientation of the polarization electric vector should be nearly radial, in contradiction with the observational results. In particular, the polarization vectors for both the green line and white-light corona in high-latitude streamers were tangential during the eclipse of July 11, 1991. The dependence of the degree of polarization on the angle between the radial direction and the magnetic-field vector was calculated without any a priori assumptions about the configuration of coronal fields. This theoretical analysis of the polarization-vector orientation for magnetic-dipole emission in the green line are in agreement with results obtained previously in other studies. Some ways to resolve the observed discrepancies are discussed.  相似文献

Eighteen regions (bipolar outflows and methanol masers) are mapped in the CS(2-1) line using the 20-m Onsala radio telescope. The coordinates of the CS emission peaks are refined. The sizes and masses of dense regions are estimated for 13 maps. Measurement of the angular sizes of regions of emission indicates that all the sources were resolved by the Onsala radio telescope. The lower limit for the linear dimensions of the CS condensations studied is 0.2–2.1 pc. The hydrogen densities and masses of the CS condensations are estimated to be n(H2)=(0.3–13.1)×104 cm?3 and (M ≈ 7–2800M ). Methanol masers are associated with denser and more massive regions, whether or not the maser condensation is connected with a bipolar outflow.  相似文献

Results of monitoring of H2O maser in the infrared source IRAS 20126+4104, which is associated with a cool molecular cloud, are presented. The observations were carried out on the 22-meter radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Russia) between June 1991 and January 2006. The spectrum of the H2O maser emission extends from ? 16.7 to 4.8 km/s and splits into separate groups of emission features. Cyclic variations of the integrated maser flux with a period from 3.4 to 5.5 years were detected, together with strong flares of up to 220 Jy in individual emission features. It is shown that large linewidths in periods of high maser activity are due to small-scale turbulent motions of the material. An expanding envelope around a young star is accepted as a model for the source. The protostar has a small peculiar velocity with respect to the molecular cloud (~2 km/s). Individual emission features form organized structures, including multi-link chains.  相似文献

We present the results of twenty-year observations of a complete sample of 68 flat-spectrum radio sources with flux densities S 3.9 GHz > 200 mJy carried out at centimeter wavelengths with the RATAN-600 radio telescope. Since 1995, we have observed simultaneously at six frequencies between 0.97 and 21.7 GHz. Of the 56 sources identified with optical objects, 41 are quasars with redshifts between 0.293 and 3.263. Based on our analysis of the spectral shapes, we divide the sources into four classes. Changes of spectral class for individual sources are fairly rare. Based on the light curves and spectra, in most cases, a flare’s evolution is in accordance with a model in which the variations result from the evolution of a shock in the radio jet. The main result of our study is that there is no redshift dependence for the true linear sizes of the radiating regions, the variability indices derived for all 20 years of data or for individual flares, or the peak frequencies of the spectra of the compact radio emission. We suggest that this testifies to an absence of cosmological evolution of the sample quasars, at least to z ≈ 3.  相似文献

The brightness and color variations of the symbiotic star CH Cygni are studied, and its stationary, spherically symmetric, extended dust envelope is modeled based on long-term UBVRJHKLM photometry, the mid-IR spectral energy distribution (7–23 µm), and far-IR fluxes measured by IRAS and ISO. The existence of a hot dust envelope, detected earlier in the near IR, is confirmed; the optical depth of the envelope has probably increased with time. Model fits to the IRAS and ISO data indicate that the V-band optical depth increased from 0.22 to 0.41 due to dust density enhancement during the 14 years between the observations by the two spacecraft. The mass-loss rate, gas-expansion velocity at the outer boundary of the envelope, and upper limit of the mass of the central source of emission are estimated assuming that the stellar wind of the system is driven by the pressure of the red giant's radiation on the dust, with subsequent momentum transfer to the gaseous medium.  相似文献

We present the results of analysis of numerical calculations of the thermal state of permafrost grounds at different depths using a model of heat and moisture transport in the ground developed at the Oboukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences (IAP RAS). For high-latitude regions of Russia, the model-estimated temperature trends in grounds (around 0.3°C/10 years at a depth of 3 m) are quite consistent with empirical estimates for the past few decades.  相似文献

To demonstrate the atmospheric emission characteristics of cadmium (Cd), which is considered an important contaminant to human health and environment, a comprehensive emission inventory of Cd has been established by applying the best available emission factors and activity data for the first time. This inventory covers major anthropogenic sources in China and a bottom-up approach is adopted to compile the inventory for the sources where possible. The total emissions of Cd are estimated at about 743.77 metric tons for the year 2009, of which the contributions of industrial processes and combustion sources are approximately 56.6 and 43.4 %, respectively. Nonferrous metals smelting including copper, lead, and zinc, ranks as the leading source accounting for about 40.6 % of the total. The high contribution results from the rapid growth of nonferrous metallurgical industry that reflects a new focus of Cd emission pollution in China. Cd emissions from coal combustion are estimated at approximately 273.69 metric tons, with a share of 36.8 %, in which industrial coal-burning sector is thought to be the primary source. Moreover, Cd emissions are spatially allocated onto grid cells with a resolution of 0.5° × 0.5°, indicating that the emissions are mainly distributed among the regions of eastern, central and southern China. In addition, the uncertainties in the inventory are quantified by using a Monte Carlo simulation, and the overall uncertainty falls within a range of ?15 to 48 %. It implies that more field tests for industrial coal combustion and metals smelting process are very necessary.  相似文献

The results of a study of the H2O and OH maser emission from the cool IR source IRAS 16293?2422 are presented. The observations analyzed were obtained in H2O lines with the 22-m telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory during 1999–2015 and in OH lines with the Nanc¸ ay radio telescope (France). A large number of very strong flares of the H2O maser were detected, reaching fluxes of tens of thousands of Jansky. Individual features can form organized structures resembling chains ~2 AU in length with a radial-velocity gradient along them. The observed drift of the H2O emission (2003–2004) in space and velocity (from 4.3 to 5.3 km/s) is not due solely to proper motion of the features. The other origin of the drift is a drift of the emission maximum during a flare as the shock consecutively excites spatially separated features in the structure in the form of a chain. The OH-line observations at 18 cm show that the emission remains unpolarized and thermal, with a line width of 0.7 km/s, which corresponds to a cloud temperature of ~30 K.  相似文献

Surface soil samples were collected from 161 sites throughout the downtown and suburban area of Beijing, China. The samples were analyzed for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) concentrations. Through Kriging analysis, five heavily contaminated zones were identified in the study area. Sources of PAHs in the soil were apportioned using principal factor analysis and multiple linear regression. Three factors were identified representing coal combustion/vehicle emission, coking emission, and petroleum sources, respectively. The relative contributions of the three sources were 48% for coal/vehicle emission, 28% for coking emission, and 24% for petroleum sources. The contributions of total PAHs from the three sources were 16.4, 4.63 and 3.70 ng g−1, respectively. Spatial analysis indicated that the contribution of coal/vehicle sources was higher in the downtown area than in the suburban area, the petroleum sources had a high contribution in the urban area, and the contribution of coking sources was high in the suburban area. The results indicated that PAH contamination in the surface soil in Beijing was closely related to the spatial characteristics of energy consumption and functional zoning. Improvement of the energy consumption structure and relocation of industries with heavy pollution are effective ways to control PAH contamination in surface soil in the area.  相似文献
