The bulk compositions of the groundmass alkali feldspar from the Hell Canyon Pluton is 0.146mole% albite. The composition of the outermost zone of the oscillatory zoned plagioclase is 0.686 mole% albite, whereas the most calcic cores have a composition of 0.43 mole% albite. The structural state of the alkali feldspar is near orthoclase. Both composition of coexisting feldspars and structural state of the alkali feldspar are nearly constant throughout the pluton.Exsolved albite in the alkali feldspar have a composition of 0.965 mole% albite and the orthoclase host has a composition of 0.032 mole%. Singe crystal X-ray studies indicate that the albite intergrowths are coherent with the host.Equilibrium temperatures derived from the coexisting feldspar average 554 ° C; about 150 ° C, too low for the minimum solidus temperatures for reasonable emplacement pressures (2 kb). If this minimum solidus temperature is assumed, then the alkali feldspar has lost about 0.15 mole% albite. This loss was most likely caused by hydrothermal solutions associated with the crystallizing magma and equilibrated at about 550 ° C. However, based on the coherent albite intergrowths and the orthoclase structure state it can be inferred that the system was relatively free of volatiles below 500 ° C. Final equilibirium between orthoclase host and albite intergrowths occurred at about 311 ° C.  相似文献

Two types of mafic enclaves occur in the Dinkey Creek pluton:ubiquitous microgranular enclaves, and rare gabbroic enclaves.Common petrographic features of the microgranular enclaves are:(1) fine grain-size, (2) abundant acicular apatite, and (3)plagioclase zoned from bytownitic cores to andesine-labradoriterims, with sharp boundaries between these main zones. Subordinateoscillatory variations are commonly superimposed on both coresand rims. It has been found by secondary ion mass spectrometrythat the rims are identical in major and trace element compositionto plagioclase in the tonalite, which suggests crystallizationfrom the same or similar magmas. The gabbroic enclaves are composedpredominantly of hornblende (50–85%) and appear to bemagmatic segregations. The microgranular enclaves and host rocks display two convergingtrends on silica variation diagrams for Fe2O3, TiO2, Al2O3,Zn, and Zr. The dominant trend is defined by small microgranularenclaves, by samples from a large (20 m?30 m) microgranularenclave, and by the Dinkey Creek tonalites and granodiorites.The subordinate trend covers tholeiltic dikes and tonalitich and converges with the Dinkey Creek host rocks at 61 wt.%SiO2 Alkali and alkaline earth elements exhibit greater variabilitythan the above constituents and appear to be either enrichedor depleted as required for equilibrium with the host rocks.Low CaO and Sr concentrations in small enclaves (<30 cm)apparently reflect a lower modal abundance of calcic plagioclaseand more sericitization of this feldspar as compared with theplagioclase of the large microgranular enclave. The large enclaveis also richer in MgO than the small enclaves. With the exceptionof the alkali elements, the major element compositions of themicrogranular enclaves approach high-Al basaltic to andesiticcom positions. In one analyzed microgranular enclave, low La/Cerelative to chondrites and more abundant HREE than in othermicrogranular samples suggest that it may also contain minorcumulus hornblende. The petrographic and whole-rock geochemical relations, and theplagioclase compositions in the microgranular enclaves and theirhost rocks, indicate that the microgranular enclaves representmixtures of quenched basalts and Dinkey Creek tonalites. Itappears that dikes of high-alumina basalt were intruded intothe lower, tonalitic portions of the Dinkey Creek pluton, wherethey were partially quenched along an interface with overlyingtonalitic magma. Large portions of residual liquid in the partiallyquenched basalts permitted mixing with the overlying magma toform a hybrid zone. This zone was then disaggregated, yieldingthe enclaves, and they were dispersed throughout the upper partof the Dinkey Creek magma chamber. Subsequent crystallizationof tonalitic melt within the enclaves produced the zoned plagioclaseand re-equilibrated hornblende and biotite in the enclaves tothe Dinkey Creek magmatic conditions. Scouring disrupted hornblende-richmagmatic segregations and produced the gabbroic enclaves.  相似文献

Progressive metamorphism of impure dolomitic limestone in the 1.5 to 2.5 km wide contact aureole surrounding the northernmost portion of the boulder batholith has resulted in a consistent sequence of uniformly distributed zones of low-variance mineral parageneses separated by abrupt and distinctive isograds. In silica-undersaturated, aluminous marbles, the following mineral assemblages occur, in order of increasing grade: calcite-dolomite-calcic amphibole-chlorite, calcite-dolomite-calcic amphibole-chlorite-spinel, calcite-dolomite-calcic amphibole-chlorite-olivine-spinel, calcite-dolomite-chlorite-olivine-spinel, calcite-dolomite-olivine-spinel. The spatial distribution of parageneses and the occurrence of low-variance parageneses indicate buffering of the pore fluid composition by the local mineral assemblages. The observed sequence of mineral reactions and the spacing of isograds is in good agreement with experimental and calculated equilibria in terms of P-T-X CO 2and temperatures of equilibration inferred from calcite-dolomite geothermometry, which range from 435 to 607 °C across the aureole.Microprobe analyses of coexisting minerals indicate attainment of exchange equilibrium. Calcic amphibole and chlorite coexisting with calcite and dolomite become progressively more aluminous with increasing grade; calcic amphibole changes rapidly from Al-poor tremolite to pargasite, while AlIV in Cte increases from 2.0 to 2.3 atoms per 8 tetrahedral sites. Observed low-variance assemblages fix the activities of calcic amphibole and chlorite end-member components as a function of P and T, and hence the systematic compositional variation in these phases is not an independent variable, but is controlled by the local mineral assemblage.  相似文献

Fifteen lithified paleosols, closely spaced in vertical sequence, occur in the top 90 m of the late Albian Boulder Creek Formation in the foothills of northeastern British Columbia, Canada. The paleosols have well-developed profiles 0·5 to 1·5 m thick, including A, B and C horizons. The paleosols are characterized by their grey colour, cutans, vertical roots, peds, spherulitic siderite and absence of sedimentary structures. The paleosols formed during a period when one or more basin wide unconformities occurred as a result of either eustatic sea level fluctuations or local tectonic events. These unconformities represent the terrestrial record of a lowered base level which caused valley incision and decreased rates of sedimentation on the incised flood plain. The climate was humid to subhumid. Overall, the environment in which these soils developed was of low relief and subject to little erosion. The water table was high for part of the year but there is also evidence of periodic drying and oxidation of organic debris. Cumulatively, the paleosols in this interval may represent 150000 yr of non-deposition.  相似文献

Boulder Mountain, located in South Central Utah, is one of several mountain ranges on the Colorado Plateau that was glaciated during the late Pleistocene. Using 3He exposure-age dating (corrected for non-cosmogenic 3He with shielded samples), we determined 3He exposure-ages for boulders from the most well-preserved moraines in the Fish Creek drainage of Boulder Mountain. 3He exposure-ages indicate a last glacial maximum (LGM) advance ∼23,100 ± 1300 to 20,000 ± 1400 yr ago and a later and smaller advance ∼16,800 ± 500 to 15,200 ± 500 yr ago. This chronology is very similar to other cosmogenic glacial chronologies from the Western U.S. and suggests that the timing of glacial advance and retreat on the Colorado Plateau was generally in phase with the rest of the Western U.S. during the late Pleistocene.  相似文献

太姥山是东南沿海低山丘陵唯一的花岗岩峰丛-石蛋地貌,燕山晚期"A"型晶洞碱长花岗岩是太姥山造景岩石,北东东、北北西向断裂、裂隙及节理是控制山峰形态和规模的主要构造,风化剥蚀、降水侵蚀和重力崩塌是地貌形成的主要外动力作用,目前该地貌演化处于壮年早期阶段。其构造位置特殊、成景岩性独特,地貌类型丰富,是东南沿海晶洞花岗岩山岳地貌的典型代表和宝贵的地质遗迹。  相似文献

The multiple intrusions making up the Central Bohemian Plutonin the Central European Hercynides have petrographic and geochemicalfeatures consistent with the presence of four main granitoidsuites. Major-element, trace-element and Sr–Nd isotopiccompositions are used to model their petrogenesis. Partial meltingof metabasic rocks or of a CHUR-like mantle source are interpretedto have produced melts parental to the most primitive calc-alkalineSázava suite. Interaction of basic with more acidic magmasfollowed by extensive amphibole–plagioclase-dominatedfractionation accounts for the production of trondhjemites.Alternatively, the trondhjemites correspond to small-degreemelts of a metabasic source. AFC (assimilation–fractionalcrystallization) modelling with a paragneiss as a contaminantand increasing DNd values simulates the characteristics of theBlatná suite. A ∼35 km coastal transect of the Halifax Pluton in South Mountain Batholith (SMB) reveals 96 m-scale ring schlieren, clustered in four locations. Ring schlieren are alternating melanocratic gradational to leucocratic bands in granites forming open to closed, nested, circular to elliptical, concentric to eccentric structures with centres aligned along the major axis or minor axis of the outer ellipse, with a cylindrical form in three dimensions, and in which cross-cutting relations suggest a younging direction towards the centre. We use detailed geometric measurements of these ring schlieren to interpret the process(es) of their formation, and to indicate the relative timing of emplacement of the SMB. The dimensions and orientations of the rings are highly variable: major-axis lengths (1.39 ± 1.43 m), minor-axis lengths (1.01 ± 0.79 m), ellipticities (1.34 ± 0.25), and major-axis orientations (008°±54°). Ring schlieren appear to be the youngest structures in this part of the batholith. Modal-abundance and grain-size variation in the rings suggests that they result from shear flow. In three dimensions, the rings are nested vertical cylinders, and probably represent vertical fossil pathways, either of descending xenoliths or of ascending supercritical vapour bubbles. Such processes can produce, and preserve, a track in a crystal-melt mush having a degree of crystallinity between 55 and 75%. Two miarolitic cavities within one multi-ring structure suggest that a rising bubble train may have produced the rings.  相似文献

卡房矿床位于个旧矿田东南部,矿区花岗岩为致矿岩体,以往对花岗岩的研究也较多,对花岗岩的定名为:黑云母花岗岩、黑云母二长花岗岩或者黑云母斜长花岗岩等等。通过对卡房花岗岩进行系统的岩矿鉴定和电子探针分析,发现长石为碱性长石(钾长石和钠长石),钠长石的An值均小于等于5。因此最终确定卡房岩体花岗岩为碱长花岗岩。而这种碱长花岗岩由富挥发分的岩浆形成,液态不混溶作用广泛发育于岩体顶部附近,是锡多金属矿富集成矿的主要分异方式,钠长石的An值可部分作为花岗岩成矿属性的评价标识之一。  相似文献

玉苍山-彭溪岩体位于东部沿海花岗岩带北端,受古太平洋板块俯冲制约。笔者等以该岩体碱长花岗岩为研究对象,开展锆石U-Pb测年,获得其加权平均年龄为96.50±1.81Ma和98.27±0.39 Ma,表明该岩体为晚白垩世岩浆活动的产物。该岩体主要矿物组成为钾长石(60%~70%)、石英(25%~35%),少量斜长石(<5%)、黑云母(<2%)等,呈中细粒花岗结构。该岩体地球化学特征上呈现高硅、富碱、低铝,镁、钙、磷、钛、铁等元素含量极低,Rb、K等大离子亲石元素和Th、U、Zr、Hf等高场强元素富集,亲铁元素Co、Ni、Cr、V等含量较低;K/Rb值低,Rb/Sr、Rb/B值高;稀土元素总量高,且轻稀土元素富集程度远大于重稀土元素,同时具有明显的铕负异常,分异指数高;反映了该岩体具有强烈的壳源特征,且形成时岩浆演化分异程度高,存在斜长石、磷灰石等矿物的分离结晶,属于过铝质高钾钙碱性花岗岩系列。认为该岩体属于A型花岗岩,为晚白垩世时期板内伸展构造环境下软流圈地幔上涌、部分地壳参与熔融形成的。  相似文献

During dry season baseflow conditions approximately 20% of the flow in Boulder Creek is comprised of acidic metals-bearing groundwater. Significant amounts of efflorescent salts accumulate around intermittent seeps and surface streams as a result of evaporation of acid rock drainage. Those salts include the Fe-sulfates — rhomboclase ((H3O)Fe3+(SO4)2·3H2O), ferricopiapite (Fe3+5(SO4)6O(OH)·20H2O), and bilinite (Fe2+Fe23+(SO4)4·22H2O); Al-sulfates — alunogen (Al2(SO4)3·17H2O) and kalinite (KAl(SO4)2·11H2O); and Ca- and Mg-sulfates — gypsum (CaSO4·2H2O), and hexahydrite (MgSO4·6H2O). The dissolution of evaporative sulfate salt accumulations during the first major storm of the wet season at Iron Mountain produces a characteristic hydrogeochemical response (so-called “rinse-out”) in surface waters that is subdued in later storms. Geochemical modeling shows that the solutes from relatively minor amounts of dissolved sulfate salts will maintain the pH of surface streams near 3.0 during a rainstorm. On a weight basis, Fe-sulfate salts are capable of producing more acidity than Al- or Mg-sulfate salts. The primary mechanism for the production of acidity from salts involves the hydrolysis of the dissolved dissolved metals, especially Fe3+. In addition to the lowering of pH values and providing dissolved Fe and Al to surface streams, the soluble salts appear to be a significant source of dissolved Cu, Zn, and other metals during the first significant storm of the season.  相似文献

125 whole rock samples from the productive Marysville, Montana, granodiorite and the surrounding metamorphic rocks were analyzed by neutron activation analysis for gold and silver, and by atomic absorption for copper, lead and zinc. In the vicinity of known gold veins, anomalous values for gold and silver were found in both types of bedrock. Anomalies for the base metals were much less pronounced. The results indicate that systematic analysis of igneous bodies could be useful in exploration for hydrothermal ore deposits.
Zusammenfassung 125 Gesteinsproben des sogenannten produktiven Granodiorits in Marysville (Montana) wurden durch Neutronenaktivierungsanalyse auf Gold und Silber und mittels Atomabsorptionsanalyse auf Kupfer, Blei und Zink analysiert. In der Nähe bekannter Goldadern wurden in beiden Gesteinsarten ungewöhnlich hohe Gold- und Silber-Werte gefunden. Anomale Werte für Kupfer, Blei und Zink waren seltener. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, daß eine systematische Untersuchung magmatischer Gesteinskomplexe bei der Suche nach hydrothermalen Erzlagerstätten von Nutzen sein kann.

The Middle Jurassic Fourth of July Batholith and cross-cutting mafic dikes have been studied geochronologically, geobarometrically and paleomagnetically to estimate subsequent tectonic motion of the Cache Creek Terrane (CCT) in the northern Canadian Cordillera. 40Ar/39Ar hornblende ages from a granodiorite phase are similar to U–Pb zircon ages and indicate rapid cooling of the batholith upon intrusion, suggesting that the magnetization age is coincident with the 173-Ma crystallization age. Argon ages of biotite from the granodiorite and two mafic dikes have similar ages of 165 Ma, which dates cooling through 280 °C.Aluminum-in-hornblende geobarometry indicates differential uplift of the batholith across a north–south fault zone along Atlin Lake with >6 km more uplift on its eastern side. Also, the eastern side has been tilted downward to the south–southwest by 9°.Combined paleomagnetic data from 20 granitoid and 11 mafic dike sites yield an in situ paleopole at 55°W, 63°N (dp=5°, dm=5°) and a tilt-corrected paleopole at 81°W, 55°N (dp=5°, dm=6°). Compared to the 173-Ma reference pole for the North American craton, the tilt-corrected pole suggests a significant southward translation of 16.1±3.7° and a significant clockwise rotation of 107±7°. The translation estimate is similar to the Jurassic Teslin Crossing pluton in the Stikine Terrane, however, the rotation estimate is very different. This could indicate that the Cache Creek Terrane was at a similar latitude of the Stikine Terrane, but the two were not yet amalgamated.  相似文献

The Helena salient is a prominent craton–convex curve in the Cordillera thrust belt of Montana, USA. The Lombard thrust sheet is the primary sheet in the salient. Structural analysis of fold trends, cleavage attitudes, and movement on minor faults is used to better understand both the geometry of the Lombard thrust and the kinematic development of the salient.Early W–E to WNW–ENE shortening directions in the Lombard sheet are indicated by fold trends in the center of the thrust sheet. The same narrow range of shortening directions is inferred from kinematic analysis of movement on minor faults and the orientations of unrotated cleavage planes along the southern lateral ramp boundary of the salient. As the salient developed, the amount and direction of shortening were locally modified as listric detachment faults rotated some tight folds to the NW, and as right-lateral simple shear, caused by lock-up and folding of the Jefferson Canyon fault above the lateral ramp, rotated other folds northeastward. Where the lateral ramp and frontal-oblique ramp intersect, folds were rotated back to the NW. Our interpretation of dominant W–E to WNW–ESE shortening in the Lombard sheet, later altered by local rotations, supports a model of salient formation by primary parallel transport modified by interactions with a lateral ramp.  相似文献

东昆仑东段香加南山花岗岩基中加鲁河中基性岩体主要岩石类型包括角闪辉长岩和石英闪长岩。LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb同位素定年结果显示加鲁河中基性岩体的结晶年龄为220 Ma。岩体SiO_2含量较低,为47.91%~58.92%,Al_2O_3含量为15.54%~18.35%,Na2O为1.70%~3.34%,K_2O为0.58%~1.92%,Na_2O/K_2O比值为1.34~2.93,平均1.92,MgO含量为3.69%~8.24%,Mg~#为46~61,铝饱和指数A/CNK介于0.70~0.90之间,主体属于准铝质中钾钙碱性系列。岩体富集轻稀土元素,亏损重稀土元素,具明显的Eu负异常(δEu=0.40~0.59);微量元素富集Rb、Th、Ba等大离子亲石元素(LILE),亏损Nb、Ta、Ti等高场强元素(HFSE)。岩石学和地球化学研究显示岩体在地壳深部和浅部经历了两次岩浆混合作用。在深部,幔源岩浆底侵作用使下地壳部分熔融形成长英质岩浆,两种岩浆不同比例混合,经过化学扩散均一化,从而具有相似的同位素特征和岩石地球化学特征。在地壳浅部,经深部混合的岩浆注入花岗质岩浆,岩浆边部同花岗岩完全混合形成加鲁河岩体中石英闪长岩,不完全混合则形成暗色微粒包体。对加鲁河中基性岩体研究表明,东昆仑东段在晚三叠世处于古特提斯演化的后碰撞阶段,在这一时期存在岩浆底侵事件。  相似文献

Three simultaneous 24-h samplings at three sites over a downstream pH gradient were conducted to examine diel fluctuations in heavy metal concentrations in Fisher Creek, a small mountain stream draining abandoned mine lands in Montana. Average pH values at the upstream (F1), middle (F2), and downstream (F3) monitoring stations were 3.31, 5.46, and 6.80, respectively. The downstream increase in pH resulted in precipitation of hydrous ferric oxide (HFO) and hydrous aluminum oxide (HAO) on the streambed. At F1 and F2, Fe showed strong diel cycles in dissolved concentration and Fe(II)/Fe(III) ratio; these cycles were attributed to daytime photoreduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II), reoxidation of Fe(II) to Fe(III), and temperature-dependent hydrolysis and precipitation of HFO. At the near-neutral downstream station, no evidence of Fe(III) photoreduction was observed, and suspended particles of HFO dominated the total Fe load. HFO precipitation rates between F2 and F3 were highest in the afternoon, due in part to reoxidation of a midday pulse of Fe2+ formed by photoreduction in the upper, acidic portions of the stream. Dissolved concentrations of Fe(II) and Cu decreased tenfold and 2.4-fold, respectively, during the day at F3. These changes were attributed to sorption onto fresh HFO surfaces. Results of surface complexation modeling showed good agreement between observed and predicted Cu concentrations at F3, but only when adsorption enthalpies were added to the thermodynamic database to take into account diel temperature variations. The field and modeling results illustrate that the degree to which trace metals adsorb onto actively forming HFO is strongly temperature dependent. This study is an example of how diel Fe cycles caused by redox and hydrolysis reactions can induce a diel cycle in a trace metal of toxicological importance in downstream waters.  相似文献

姑婆山–花山花岗岩基位于南岭花岗岩带的西段,为燕山早期多次岩浆侵位的产物。姑婆山–花山花岗岩基由东西向展布的姑婆山花岗岩体和花山花岗岩体组成,两岩体规模、形态及主体组成单元基本相同,且主体单元均为成矿岩体,但两岩体构造型式迥异。姑婆山花岗岩体具有外侵式、反环带构造型式,岩石能量较小、抗风化剥蚀能力较弱、形成较早的里松单元出露于岩体的中部,四周被岩石能量较大、抗风化剥蚀能力较强、形成较晚的望高和新路单元所环绕,地貌上对应的表现为岩体中央成凹陷盆地,四周为中山陡坡地形,由此导致岩体内水系向岩体中央盆地汇聚,并在岩体中央盆地及集中外泄的里松河河谷阶地内富集形成风化矿床;与此相反,花山花岗岩体具有内侵式、正环带构造型式,岩石能量较大、抗风化剥蚀能力较强、形成较晚的华美和望高单元位于岩体的中部,四周被岩石能量较小、抗风化剥蚀能力较弱、形成较早的里松等单元所环绕,地貌上对应的表现为岩体中央呈中山地形,四周多为低山丘陵,水系从岩体向外呈放射状分布,这种放射型水系不易于在岩体内部形成较大规模的风化矿床,砂锡及风化型稀土矿随河水搬运距离较远,最终在岩体外环(或边缘)地势较低的思勤江汇水盆地及河谷阶地内沉积富集形成大型砂锡及风化型稀土矿。姑婆山和花山两姐妹花岗岩体不同的构造型式是形成两岩体地貌景观差异的内在因素,同时也是导致两岩体风化矿床空间分布差异的根本原因。  相似文献
