The origin of the Sondalo gabbroic complex has been unravelled by means of a petrological study of the least evolved rocks,
troctolites to norites containing up to 20% of anhedral clinopyroxene and titanian pargasite. Pyroxenes and titanian pargasite
from the troctolites have higher Mg, Al and Cr, and lower Mn than those from the norites, whereas plagioclase does not show
systematic compositional variations (An ca. 65 mol%). The variation trend of anorthite content of plagioclase versus the forsterite
content of olivine differs from that of arc-related gabbroic rocks. Plagioclase, clinopyroxene, orthopyroxene and titanian
pargasite were analyzed for REE and selected trace elements by ion microprobe. Application of crystal/liquid partition coefficients
to trace element mineral compositions suggests that the parental liquids of both troctolites and norites had tholeiitic affinity
and were slightly LREE and LILE enriched relative to N-MORB. A troctolite and a norite give Sm-Nd mineral isochron ages of
300 ± 12 Ma and 280 ± 10 Ma. Plagioclase-amphibole Rb-Sr isochron ages are 266 ± 10 Ma and 269 ± 16 Ma for the same rock samples,
and they are interpreted to represent cooling ages. The Nd-Sr-O isotopic compositions indicate that a substantial crustal
contribution was involved in the petrogenesis of the norite, which has low ɛ Nd(290 Ma), high 87Sr/ 86Sr(290 Ma) and high δ 18O Px (−2.6, 0.7057 and +7.9‰, respectively) compared with the troctolites. We thus conclude that the troctolite/norite association
formed by concomitant fractional crystallization and crustal assimilation. The somewhat elevated δ 18O Cpx (+6.4‰) and the relatively low forsterite contents in olivine suggest that the parental liquids of the troctolites had already
been evolved through an AFC type process. The ɛ Nd(290 Ma) and 87Sr/ 86Sr(290 Ma) of these rocks (ranging from +2.8 to +4.4 and from 0.7037 to 0.7040, respectively) probably do not reflect the
ɛ Nd and Sr isotopic compositions of their mantle source, and it is thus unclear whether the primary melts were derived from a
slightly enriched or from a depleted mantle source. The Sondalo gabbroic complex was most likely associated with the post-Variscan
gabbroic complexes of the Alpine belt. These gabbroic complexes can be ascribed to the intrusion at different crustal levels
of tholeiitic mantle-derived melts and were emplaced in the time span of 300–270 Ma.

Here new mineralogical data is presented on the occurrence of K-feldspar in granulite-facies metagabbronorite xenoliths found in recent alkaline lavas from Western Sardinia, Italy. The xenoliths originated from the underplating of variably evolved subduction-related basaltic liquids, which underwent cooling and recrystallisation in the deep crust ( T = 850–900 °C, P = 0.8–1.0 GPa). They consist of orthopyroxene + clinopyroxene + plagioclase porphyroclasts (An = 50–66 mol%) in a granoblastic, recrystallised, quartz-free matrix composed of pyroxene + plagioclase (An = 56–72 mol%) + Fe–Ti oxides ± K-feldspar ± biotite ± fluorapatite ± Ti-biotite. Texturally, the K-feldspar occurs in a variety of different modes. These include: (1) rods, blebs, and irregular patches in a random scattering of plagioclase grains in the form of antiperthite; (2) micro-veins along plagioclase–plagioclase and plagioclase–pyroxene grain rims; (3) myrmekite-like intergrowths with Ca-rich plagioclase along plagioclase–plagioclase grain boundaries; and (4) discrete anhedral grains (sometimes microperthitic). The composition of each type of K-feldspar is characterized by relatively high albite contents (16–33 mol%). An increasing anorthite content in the plagioclase towards the contact with the K-feldspar micro-vein and myrmekite-like intergrowths into the K-feldspar along the plagioclase–K-feldspar grain boundary are also observed. Small amounts of biotite (TiO 2 = 4.7–6.5 wt.%; F = 0.24–1.19 wt.%; Cl = 0.04–0.20 wt.%) in textural equilibrium with the granulite-facies assemblage is present in both K-feldspar-bearing and K-feldspar-free xenoliths. These K-feldspar textures suggest a likely metasomatic origin due to solid-state infiltration of KCl-rich fluids/melts. The presence of such fluids is supported by the fluorapatite in these xenoliths, which is enriched in Cl (Cl = 6–50% of the total F + Cl + OH). These lines of evidence suggest that formation of K-feldspar in the mafic xenoliths reflects metasomatic processes, requiring an external K-rich fluid source, which operated in the lower crust during and after in-situ high- T recrystallisation of relatively dry rocks. 相似文献

Three samples of levyne and two of erionite from three different localities of Sardinia are described. In two samples, levyne and erionite are intergrown by epitaxy. The levynes exhibit close chemical compositions with Ca>Na>K; as for their lattice constants, a is very similar in all three samples, while c of one sample is rather smaller than that of the other two. Unit cell dimensions of both erionites and chemical composition of one are also given. In addition, the following data are reported for the levynes: refractive indices for all three samples, density for two and DTA for one. The existence of levyne-erionite intergrowth is emphasized, and support is given to the idea that this intergrowth is much more common than the literature would suggest. 相似文献

A geochemical study of the high- PCO 2 waters in Logudoro, northern Sardinia, was carried out starting from regional hydrogeochemical prospecting for geothermal energy, based on the major dissolved components and some minor elements. This preliminary investigation led to the identification of five different lithologies marking the different aquifers. The high- PCO 2 waters can be divided into the less saline (TDS < 1g/l) with high tritium unit (T.U.) values and the more saline ones (TDS= 1–3.5 g/l) with T.U. values close to zero. The water-rock interaction process affecting the major components is shown to be the result of interaction between CO 2-rich waters and aluminosilicates; the process takes place at different degrees depending on the depth at which CO 2 interacts with different aquifers while migrating upward from the mantle. Consideration of the SO 4/Cl and F/Cl ratios in the solution allowed the deep ciruits of S. Martino and Abbarghente in the Oligo-Miocene volcanic rocks and S. Lucia in the carbonate-schistose-granitic basement of the Goceano Mountains to be located. 相似文献

At least 8 km 3 of felsic ignimbrites and high-K silica-undersaturatedlavas and tephra were erupted from the Latera caldera between250 and 150 ka. Four distinct periods of explosive eruptions(at about 232, 206, 195, and 156 ka) produced ignimbrite sequencesthat show an upward compositional progression from trachyteand differentiated phonolite to less evolved phonolite. Duringthe last two of these periods, the tuffs grade upward from phonoliteto tephriphonolite. The stratigraphy indicates that eruptionssampled magmas that were stratified downward from trachyte andphonolite to tephriphonolite, and the compositional cyclicitysuggested by the timing of the eruptions implies an unusualcontemporaneity of silica-saturated and -undersaturated compositions. At Latera, pumice fragments in the same deposit can exhibitup to 10-fold differences in vesicularity and crystal content(from <5 to >50 vol.% phenocrysts). These clasts, in conjunctionwith glassbearing syenite and skarn xenoliths, represent a rangeof progressively crystallized magmas that were quenched at theinstant of their eruptive entrainment. The syenites compriseeutectic mineral assemblages with high percentages of titanite, apatite, and melanite garnet as accessory minerals. Least-squaresmodels based on major element and compatible trace element (e.g.,Ba and Sr) abundances of the pumices and syenite indicate thatthe fractionation of plagioclase and sanidine largely controlledthe liquid lines of descent for phonolite and trachyte, respectively.Additional mineral phases that may have contributed to magmaticdifferentiation include fassaitic diopside, leucite, biotite, apatite, and alkali amphibole. Models further imply that tephriphonoliticliquids required roughly 70% crystallization of tephritic orbasanitic parent magmas, whereas the evolved phonolitic liquidswere obtained after the removal of >85% of the above mineralassemblage. The commonly aphyric trachytic tuffs represent themost evolved derivatives. Despite the limited range in major element contents, trace elementsvary considerably among the different pumice types and syenites.Large ranges in Rb/Sr, Nb/Ta, Zr/Hf, La/Yb, and Ba/Th reflectthe selective partitioning of some elements into accessory phases. However, the variations of B, Sc, Rb, Nb, Hf, Y, and Yb cannotbe explained completely by crystal fractionation. Syenite compositions, for example, bracket the range of most elements in all pumicetypes, and chemical models demonstrate that processes operatingalong the chamber margins could have greatly influenced thebehavior of trace elements in the evolved liquids. Plausiblemechanisms that might have accompanied crystal fractionationin these magmas include the mixing of several magma batches, and the possible dilution of central reservoir magmas by back-mixingwith fractionated liquids or with CO 2-rich fluids released fromskarns.

The relationship between deformation and dehydration has been investigated in Hercynian regionally metamorphosed rocks exposed on NW Sardinia. Two episodes of prograde mineral growth (M 1 & M 2) involving dehydration are recognized: growth of chlorite/phengite porphyroblasts at anchizone metamorphic conditions, contemporaneous with the first phase of deformation, D 1, and growth of biotite from chlorite and phengite coincident with the second phase of deformation, D 2. Deformation during both episodes of dehydration is characterized by penetrative axial planar foliations defined by well-developed phyllosilicate preferred orientations quantified by XRD textural goniometry, tight to isoclinal similar folds (interlimb angles <40°), and mineral-filled veins (hydrofractures) orientated parallel to axial planar foliations, that formed contemporaneously with the development of the penetrative foliations. No prograde mineral growth occurred during D 2 at chlorite-zone conditions. D 2 deformation in the absence of dehydration is characterized by non-penetrative crenulation cleavages, poorly developed phyllosilicate preferred orientations, relatively open (interlimb angles >40°), low-strain similar folds and minor brittle deformation. Systematic variations in macrofold interlimb angles, with respect to the timing of mineral growth, indicate that enhanced shortening ( c. 80%) occurred during dehydration. Microfabrics show that the onset of dehydration is associated with the transition from a crenulation cleavage to a penetrative foliation. The presence of axial planar hydrofractures that formed coevally with dehydration and fabric development requires that supralithostatic fluid pressures and low differential stresses (< c. 20 MPa) accompanied dehydration. These features demonstrate a connection between the timing of dehydration and the style of deformation. 相似文献

A study to test the use of hydrogeochemical methods for gold prospecting was carried out in the Osilo area, northern Sardinia. The study area, covering about 30 km 2 is characterised by Tertiary andesitic rocks. Gold concentrations up to several ppm, associated with abundant pyrite, arsenopyrite, stibnite, tetrahedrite and electrum, and subordinate galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite, are present in quartz veins associated with a polyphase, incipient and pervasive alteration of the andesitic rocks.Forty-eight water samples (17 streams, 29 springs and 2 boreholes) were analysed for Au and a wide range of major and trace elements, both in solution (< 0.4 μm) and in suspension. Background values for dissolved Au were below the detection limit of the methods used (between 0.3 and 0.5 ng L −1 Au). Gold concentrations in solution up to 3 ng L −1 were found in waters draining the mineralised vein system. The observed dispersion of Au in surface waters was restricted to about 500 m from the auriferous veins. Dissolved Au anomalies do not vary significantly in water samples, taken monthly over a one year period, suggesting that the dispersion of Au is unaffected by seasonal conditions in the Osilo area. For samples where Au was detected both in solution and in suspension, the Au content of the suspended matter was usually lower than that in solution. The best indicators of Au mineralisation, apart from Au itself, both in solution and in suspension, were As and Sb which showed a dispersion clearly related to the known auriferous veins. 相似文献

This article deals with the results of a survey carried out in Sardinia on both active and abandoned tailings dams, and we also discuss the geological impact of tailings dams of two mines: the Masua mine, a large syngenetic Pb-Zn deposit located in Cambrian limestones, and the Montevecchio mine, a Pb-Zn vein deposit near a Hercynian granite intrusion. The characteristics and metal content of material in the dams were analyzed. A high contamination of heavy metals (Pb, Zn, Cd, Cu) was found both in the soils and water of Rio Montevecchio, a stream draining the tailings dams and other mining operations in the area. The study indicates that a control plan to minimize heavy metal pollution must be drawn up for all mines of the area, whether active or abandoned. 相似文献

The Mecklenburg complex, which crops out in the Carolina Piedmont, consists of older metagabbro and metafelsic rocks of upper amphibolite grade, and a younger postmetamorphic gabbro. On the evidence of field data and gravity measurements, the younger gabbro appears to be a plug-like body with steeply dipping contacts that may converge inward at relatively shallow depth; the pluton may extend only 8,000–15,000 feet into the subsurface.Gabbroic rocks contain plagioclase, olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, hornblende, and biotite, and display hypidiomorphic textures characterized by numerous reaction relations among the mafic phases; hydrous minerals are commonly abundant, comprising up to 37% of the rock, and indicate the fugacity of H 2O was relatively high during primary crystallization. In contrast metagabbro lacks olivine and exhibits textures that range from relict igneous varieties to crystalloblastic types that appear to represent equilibrium assemblages. A less common metagabbro type, associated with local zones of deformation, is characterized by faint banding and only trace amounts of anhydrous mafics. Varieties of metagabbro are complexly intermingled in the field, and resultant assemblages and textures largely reflect whole-rock composition and differences in initial H 2O contents, slightly modified locally by addition of fluid along favorable channelways. In general metagabbro is slightly higher in TiO 2, Na 2O, and K 2O, and lower in MgO relative to gabbro; regardless of the degree of recrystallization, the chemistry of the various metagabbro types is nearly identical, thus indicating metamorphism was essentially isochemical. 相似文献

The Ingurtosu Pb-Zn mine, situated in the southwestern part of Sardinia, has been in production from the beginning of the last century up to 1968. The orebody consists of galena/sphalerite/barite/siderite veins in Ordovician arenaceous and phyllitic sediments, near the contact with a Hercynian batholith. Abundant tailings were collected in a pond from which they were discharged during the winter months into the sea via the Rio Naracauli stream. Today this area of outstanding scenic beauty, is degraded by tailings and waste rock scattered all along the stream. Material derived from mining activities was studied for grain size, mineralogical and geochemical composition. The Rio Naracauli was sampled over a length of ten kilometers at regular intervals. The results can be summarized as follows: (a) tailings contain a varying, but often quite high, percentage of Pb; lower percentages were found for Zn and Cd; (b) a sharp increase in dissolved Zn, Cd and Pb was observed in the Rio Naracauli where it leached the tailings; and (c) tailings and waste rocks should be recycled or revegetated. 相似文献

The metamorphic basement of the Asinara island represents a key area of the Sardinia Variscan segment, because it displays an almost complete cross-section through the inner part of the Sardinia Variscan belt, where different tectono-metamorphic complexes have been juxtaposed along narrow belts of high-strain concentration. Detailed field mapping coupled with preliminary studies on the structural and metamorphic features of this small island, allow to draw a better picture of the structural frame issued from the Variscan collision in the inner zone of the belt. Three deformation phases related to crustal thickening in a compressive and transpressive, partitioned tectonic regime, followed by a later phase of extensional deformation have been recognised. In spite of a general HT/LP metamorphic overprint, linked to the post-collisional deformation phases, a relic Barrovian zoneography is still detectable. The Barrovian assemblages are preto syn-kinematic with respect to the D2 deformation phase, and pre-date the third, contractional tectonic event. The HT/LP assemblage indicates a static growth of weakly deformed by the last deformation events. The complex geometry of the fabric associated to the D2 and D3 deformation events suggests an heterogenous deformation history with a monoclinic geometry characterized by switching of the stretching lineation orientation and a contrasting sense of displacement, probably controlled by a northward partitioned pure shear. 相似文献

The Early Paleoproterozoic Burakovsky complex contains Europe’s largest layered mafic-ultramafic pluton and giant Avdeevo gabbronorite dike. The pluton consists of two independent bodies of different age (the Aganozero and Shalozero-Burakovsky bodies), each having its own internal structure and contacting each other in their apical parts. Both bodies have a similar rock sequence including five differentiated zones (from bottom upward, based on the predominant cumulus assemblages): ultrabasic, pyroxenite, gabbronorite, pigeonite gabbronorite, and magnetite gabbronorite-diorite. Being generally similar to each other owing to a common differentiation trend of similar melts, these bodies differ notably in the character of their cumulus stratigraphy and, to a lesser extent, in mineral and geochemical composition. The pluton is distinguished by the presence of marker horizons—singular interlayers of high-temperature mafic cumulates emplaced in the sequence of lower-temperature gabbroid. Their origin is believed to have been associated with the influxes of fresh magma portions into the crystallizing magma chambers. Based on petrological, geochemical, and mineralogical data, the Aganozero and Shalozero-Burakovsky bodies, as well as additional intrusive phases, were derived from the compositionally similar but not identical melts of siliceous high-Mg (boninite like) series. The Avdeevo dike (2436 ± 46 Ma at ? Nd(T) = ?1.5) extends along the southeastern contact of the Shalozero-Burakovsky body and was formed almost simultaneously with it. The dike is made up of pigeonite gabbronorites, which are almost identical to the rocks of the Pigeonite gabbronorite zone of the Burakovsky pluton in geochemistry and mineral composition. It was concluded that the Burakovsky Complex was a long-lived igneous center, whose origin was related to the activity of an Early Paleoproterozoic mantle superplume. 相似文献

A total of about 20,000 stream sediment samples from about 13,000 km 2 were collected in Sardinia and analysed for eleven elements (Ag, Co, Cr, Cu, F, Hg, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sb and Zn) by Ente Minerario Sardo (EMS), aimed at mineral exploration. We have reutilized 16,890 samples (covering an area of 7987 km 2) of the above data to compile geochemical baseline maps for all single elements as well as maps showing the regional variability of factor scores resulting from R-mode factor analysis. This type of maps has a particular relevance to environmental issues, especially in a region such as Sardinia which has been mined since pre-Roman times. 相似文献

With the aim of contributing to the knowledge of the geochemical behaviour and mobility of the rare earth element (REE) in the natural water systems, the ground and surface waters of the Ottana-Orani area (Central Sardinia, Italy) were sampled. The study area consists of albititic bodies included in Hercynian granodiorites. The waters have pH in the range of 6.0-8.6, total dissolved solid (TDS) of between 0.1 and 0.6 g/l, and major cation composition dominated by Ca and Na, whereas predominant anions are Cl and/or HCO 3.The pH and the major-element composition of the waters are the factors affecting the concentration of REE in solution. The concentrations of ∑REE+Y in the samples filtered at 0.4 μm vary between 140 and 1600 ng/l, with La of between 14 and 314 ng/l, and Yb of between <6 and 12 ng/l. A negative Ce anomaly, especially marked at high pH, is observed in the groundwaters. The surface waters show lower REE concentrations, which are independent of pH, and negligible Ce anomaly.Speciation calculations, carried out with the EQ3NR computer program, showed that the complexes with the CO 32− ligand are the dominant REE species at pH in the range of 6.7-8.6. The REE 3+ ions dominate the speciation at pH <6.7 and only in the light REE (LREE).The relative concentrations of REE in water roughly reflect those in the aquifer host rocks. However, when concentrations of REE in water are normalised relative to the parent rocks, a preferential fractionation of heavy REE (HREE) into the water phase can be observed, suggesting the greater mobility and stability of HREE in aqueous solution. 相似文献

Summary Corona textures between olivine and plagioclase or orthopyroxene and plagioclase are present in Hercynian gabbroic rocks from the Calabrian Sila Massif. They have been studied through optical and SEM investigations together with EDS and WDS analyses. Textural features indicate the existence of two extreme corona types formed during late magmatic stages or during subsolidus cooling. Magmatic coronas are characterized by an inner orthopyroxene layer and an outer orange-brown amphibole layer that might be in optical continuity with orthopyroxene and amphibole poikilites respectively. Subsolidus coronas consist of an inner layer of colourless amphibole and an outer layer of amphibole ± spinel. They sometimes form a collar also around plagioclase enclosed in olivine. A large spectrum in the composition of corona amphiboles from Ti-bearing pargasite to Mg-hornblende was observed. The variation in Ti content of amphibole was interpreted as a consequence of the different conditions of crystallization from late magmatic to subsolidus with temperatures ranging from 880°C to 580°C. The significant gahnite component in spinel possibly indicates that subsolidus reactions occurred in an open system. The pressure of formation constrained by the mineral assemblage of metamorphic basement rocks and by the neighbouring diorites has been estimated at 4 kbar.

The Eastern Ghats Belt (EGB), characterised by pervasive Grenvillian granulite facies metamorphism, is the host to several 950–1000 Ma old massif-type anorthosite complexes. The present work describes one such complex near Udayagiri from the northern margin of the EGB, reported for the first time as “Udayagiri anorthosite complex” (UAC). The ‘massif type’ UAC comprises mainly of anorthosite, leuconorite-olivine leuconorite and norite in the decreasing order of areal extent. Mineralogically, these rocks dominantly consist of cumulates of moderately calcic plagioclase (~An 50–60), moderately magnesian intercumulus olivine (X Mg: ~0.6) and orthopyroxene (X Mg: 0.47 to 0.70). Metamorphic garnet (Alm: ~50 mol%) is also common in these rocks. Anorthosite and leuconorite of the UAC exhibit a moderate ‘+ve’ Eu anomaly. Norite occurs locally as schlierens and is relatively rich in Fe, P, Rb, Sr, Th, Nb, Ta, Y and REE which could be a residual melt product. These rocks exhibit both relict magmatic mineralogy and textures with a metamorphic impress manifested by the development of multilayered corona involving olivine, orthopyroxene, garnet, phlogopite, ilmenite and plagioclase during cooling of the pluton. The corona development is a result of combination of significant magmatic and metamorphic reactions which have the potential to provide important clues for deciphering the magmatic and metamorphic evolution of such plutons in ambient granulite facies conditions. 相似文献

The classical Middle to Upper Triassic carbonate sections at Monte Santa Giusta and Punta del Lavatoio, North‐west Sardinia (Italy), referred to the Muschelkalk and Keuper lithofacies group, are revisited and their trace fossil content is investigated for the first time. A combined ichnological and sedimentological study reveals insights into the depositional environments, regional context, palaeogeography and sequence stratigraphy. The results indicate deposition on a homoclinal carbonate ramp with broad facies belts. All recognized trace fossils are also known from time‐equivalent deposits of Germany and thus indicate a close affinity between the North‐west Sardinian Triassic and the Germanic Basin. Only a few trace fossils are particularly abundant and these indicate opportunistic colonization by their producers, which is probably related to restricted endobenthic conditions due to reduced oxygen and/or increased salinity. The trace fossil association can be grouped into a softground suite belonging to the Cruziana ichnofacies, and a firmground suite of the Glossifungites ichnofacies. This discrimination enables an interpretation of the northern Monte Santa Giusta section as a carbonate ramp with extensive tidal flats and abundant carbonate accumulation in a relatively proximal position, whereas the southern Punta del Lavatoio section exhibits broad lagoonal environments with reduced sedimentation in a deeper and more Tethys‐influenced area. The Sardinian sections are ichnologically similar to the Anisian–Ladinian succession known from the Tatra Mountains, but differ from it by having a slightly higher ichnodiversity, which again can be attributed to a less restricted lagoonal environment. This study demonstrates the importance of integrating trace fossil analysis in sedimentological and palaeontological investigations of carbonate systems. 相似文献

We have studied sediments of the Piscinas beach (SW Sardinia, Italy), which is supplied by two streams that wash mine dumps
of abandoned lead and zinc mines at Montevecchio and Ingurtosu, situated inland from the supply basin of the beach itself.
A study of the texture, mineralogy and geochemistry of the sediments was conducted for the purpose of assessing the possible
influence of the mine waste on the composition of the sediments, looking for any anomalous enrichments in heavy metals. Furthermore,
to evaluate and quantify metal release into the sea, samples of Posidonia oceanica, a bioaccumulator marine plant, were also examined. The results indicate that the distribution of heavy metals in the foreshore
sediments is particularly affected by the contribution of the streams, while in the shoreface the distribution is affected
by the currents that disperse the sediments both out to sea and southwards. The metal contents of the Posidonia oceanica are correlated with the different stages of activity of the mines.

The migmatites from Punta Sirenella (NE Sardinia) are layered rocks containing 3–5 vol.% of centimeter-sized stromatic leucosomes which are mainly trondhjemitic and only rarely granitic in composition. They underwent three deformation phases, from D 1 to D 3. The D 1 deformation shows a top to the NW shear component followed by a top to the NE/SE component along the XZ plane of the S 2 schistosity. Migmatization started early, during the compressional and crustal thickening stage of Variscan orogeny and was still in progress during the following extensional stage of unroofing and exhumation. The trondhjemitic leucosomes, mainly consisting of quartz, plagioclase, biotite ± garnet ± kyanite ± fibrolite, retrograde muscovite and rare K-feldspar, are locally bordered by millimeter-sized biotite-rich melanosomes. The rare granitic leucosomes differ from trondhjemitic ones only in the increase in modal content of K-feldspar, up to 25%. Partial melting started in the kyanite field at about 700–720 °C and 0.8–0.9 GPa, and was followed by re-equilibration at 650–670 °C and 0.4–0.6 GPa, producing fibrolite–biotite intergrowth and coarse-grained muscovite. The leucosomes have higher SiO2, CaO, Na2O, Sr and lower Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, TiO2, K2O, P2O5, Rb, Ba, Cr, V, Zr, Nb, Zn and REE content with respect to proximal hosts and pelitic metagreywackes. Sporadic anomalous high content of calcium and ferromagnesian elements in some leucosomes is due to entrainment of significant amounts of restitic plagioclase, biotite and accessory phases. The rare granitic leucosomes reveal peritectic K-feldspar produced by muscovite-dehydration melting. Most leucosomes show low REE content, moderately fractionated REE patterns and marked positive Eu anomaly. Proximal hosts and pelitic metagraywackes are characterized by higher REE content, more fractionated REE patterns and slightly negative Eu anomaly. The trondhjemitic leucosomes were generated by H2O-fluxed melting at 700 °C of a greywacke to pelitic–greywacke metasedimentary source-rock. The disequilibrium melting process is the most reliable melting model for Punta Sirenella leucosomes. 相似文献

The present study reports the results of research on volcaniclastic products from Logudoro (northern Sardinia), a reconstructed
stratigraphic succession some hundreds of meters thick, comprising two different ignimbritic units separated by an epiclastic
layer (generally ˜10 m thick). Clinoptilolite is the most widely distributed authigenic phase in epiclastite and unwelded
units, always associated with opal-CT and sometimes with smectite. An adularia-like feldspar, cristobalite and epigenetic
quartz are typical phases of welded units. Within the zeolitized units (unwelded ignimbrite and epiclastic units) clinoptilolite
and opal-CT constitute the cement deriving from the transformation of the precursor rhyolitic glass, in agreement with a single
zeolitization process that developed after the deposition of the entire succession. Silica increases in zeolitized rocks with
respect to the precursor material, leading to hypothesize that the secondary mineralization process was favored by mineralized
hydrothermal fluids preferentially circulating through the fault system of the area. Quartz veins in welded subunit and K-feldspar
(adularia-like) preferentially located near the faults are in agreement with this hypothesis. The interaction of these fluids
with the glassy fraction favored its dissolution and the consequent crystallization of clinoptilolite. Furthermore, the pH
increase and the silica supersaturation enhanced the contemporary or subsequent precipitation of opal-CT.
